Stylish modern studio situated on 7 gated acres, surrounded by rolling hills, featuring a stunning 60’ lap pool and outdoor lounging and dining area! The grounds are lush with mature oak trees, fruit trees and a pergola on the upper terrace with outdoor seating affording spectacular sunset views. The interior of this modern open studio features exclusive furnishings, a queen-size bed, 2 sofas, 55" TV, bistro table, two builtin workstations, kitchenette and full bath with walk-in glass shower.

The well-equipped kitchenette includes both a Nespresso machine and a K-Cup coffee and tea maker, milk frother, microwave, toaster oven, double and single hot plate, slow cooker, Instant Pot and full-size fridge.

Beautifully decorated interiors by two former corporate executives of Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn and West Elm, including custom fine art painted exclusively for the property. We fondly refer to the property as Great Oak because of the dozens of gorgeous oaks on the grounds. Rental guests often comment on how private the compound feels across its 7 acres with few homes in view and yet only minutes from both Sonoma and Glen Ellen. If you love hiking and biking, Cavedale Rd. is an 7 mile long artery crossing from Sonoma into Napa. Or, simply sit back and relax in a truly rural setting with spectacular views of the Valley of Moon, uniquely framed by both the Mayacamas and Sonoma Mountains...truly one of the best locations the wine country has to offer.

We live on the property. The guest studio was specifically designed to face away from the main house in order to afford guests the privacy you deserve. The guest studio is also attached to the garage so on occasion guests may hear the garage door opening/closing.

The lap pool is shared with the owners. When guests are present, we limit our use of the pool to our daily laps and try to do so when guests are out exploring all that Sonoma and Napa have to offer. The pool is not heated in the off-season.

We have 2 friendly Gordon Setter dogs (Tobi 5 years old and Nikki 4 years old) that roam the property and may come over to visit. If you are uncomfortable with dogs, or they are in any way bothering you, please call/text us and we will make sure to keep them with us. It is not a bother at all, so please don’t hesitate to let us know. Also, when entering or leaving the property, if you could take care and not let the dogs out. If you see them out and about when arriving at the gate or upon leaving, please call or text us so we can bring them in. Otherwise, they will make a run for it if the gate is opened.

We have been actively renting Great Oak as a vacation rental since 2017, with a 5-star rating. It was previously managed by Turnkey/Vacasa. Sadly, ratings and reviews cannot be carried over when switching to self-property management, but below are copied ratings and some sample reviews.

Gorgeous property and fantastic location for exploring Napa and Sonoma. That pool and those views - perfection!! The kitchen was very well-appointed, and we cooked in many nights and had everything we could possibly need for our stay. The owners and their dogs were lovely, and it was a pleasure meeting them. My wife and I stayed here for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Not only is the house beautifully decorated and maintained, but the property itself is absolutely syunning. It made for a relazing and calming weekend. John and Oliver, the owners, are awesome. They were so welcoming and kind and we felt like we were visiting old friends. The photos do not do it justice. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway.

If you want to experience a completely beautiful and peaceful environment with the best energy, then definitely consider this place. I am hesitant to rate them so highly because I will definitely return and don’t want it hard to book. If you don’t enjoy this place, you should stop traveling!

Our second visit was just as enjoyable as we remember our first in 2022. Tobi & Nikki (the two Gordon Setters) made for great playmates for our dog again and the pool ambience was exactly the rest & relaxation we were in need of. The perfect dog friendly get away.

One of the best [vacation rental] stays we ever had! A real gem! The paintings were interesting and done by the owner himself. Pool was beautiful aesthetically and the water temperature just right. The property itself is very well maintained. Lounge was a great place to just chill and take in the view. The two dogs on site were very friendly and our kid loved them. Owners were very gracious. If you’re looking for a luxury retreat in a more private locale, this is it! Would come back in a heartbeat

The whole estate is expensive and gorgeous with mid century architecture, the interior is artsy and sophisticated and after the long day we enjoyed the sunset views and large heated pool. We also appreciated the sustainable thinking through out the property.

This Italian style villa boasts incredible views of wine country with legendary sunsets. This beautiful, private home, with heated pool and spa, is on nearly an acre of land with a 60 vine vineyard and views of treetops, Sonoma Mountain, and Sonoma Creek.

It's the perfect place for time away with friends or family.

The home is shaded by mature olive and redwood trees. Its features include a new pool and spa completed in 2024, a fully equipped chef's kitchen, a covered outdoor game/TV room with pool table and ping pong, solar power, an electric car charging station, a home entertainment center, an indoor dining area for 6, outdoor teak dining table, gas fireplace (no propane tank needed), hardwood floors, wine refrigerator, upscale linens, modern decor, and much more.

Private Wine Country home in the heart of Glen Ellen. Walking distance to restaurants, tasting rooms, and markets. We also have beautiful state parks, Jack London State Park is 5 minutes away and lovely to hike. You will definitely fall in love with this small quaint town hidden away in Sonoma Valley. Keyless entry makes it simple and easy. The living room is spacious with an electric leather reclining sofa, electric reclining chair, and a 50` flat screen TV with Netflix included. Decorated in a wine country-like theme. The house is very open and inviting. Each bedroom has a comfortable king bed. The guest bath has a tub/shower. The kitchen is big and spacious, it has a kitchen table and chairs for dining, and all of the necessary appliances for a great stay. Also, there is an electric car charging station across the street in the Garden Court Cafe parking lot, please don`t charge your electric vehicle at the house. You can also grill dinner on the back patio to enjoy the beautiful weather of Glen Ellen.
-The grill is not available in the fall and winter due to the rain and moisture.

Kenwood is 5 minutes away, Sonoma is about 10 minutes, Napa is about 40 minutes, SF is about an hour, if you want to go to the Ocean, Bodega Bay is only about an hour away, and it`s also where Alfred Hitchcock`s `The Birds` was filmed. They also have delicious clam chowder and seafood at Spud Point Crab Company in Bodega Bay.

Welcome to our Harvest Hideaway! We’re centrally located in the heart of Sonoma Valley, right in downtown Glen Ellen.

Walking distance to fantastic restaurants, tasting rooms, and the great Glen Ellen Village Market. We’re a 10 minute drive to Kenwood, 15 minutes to Sonoma Square, and 30 to Napa. Drive west and you're in Bodega Bay within an hour; south, and you're on the Golden Gate Bridge. You can't beat the location!

Built in the 1930’s and completely remodeled in 2017, our house has the charm and character of an older home, with all modern amenities and new hardwood floors.

You will enjoy your own private room with a queen bed (down comforter), walk-in closet, and an ensuite bathroom, containing a double sink & spacious walk-in shower. Wifi, television (with Netflix, Hulu, etc), a fan/heater, and a small refrigerator are available for your convenience. You also have your own independent heating/AC to keep the room comfortable during your stay.

This room does not have access to the kitchen or the rest of the home, but you do have access to our lovely screen porch where you can enjoy breakfast and watch the hummingbirds visit our feeders. And you are welcome enjoy the numerous sitting areas in our backyard or sit by our chickens and let them entertain you for hours.

After multiple inquires, we must add that this is the only space we rent. It is private (in one corner of the house), while our master bedroom is upstairs on the other side of the house. The two of us will never been in your space while you are staying with us, and you can come and go freely without any disturbances.

*Standard Vans only (14ft max length) allowed due to narrow driveway and limited parking/turn around space. **NO stretch limos allowed!

*Pets - Maximum of one (1) Pet may be allowed with owner approval only for a non-refundable fee (flat rate $175). Pet owners are responsible for pet at all times, pet shall be secured on property at all times. Please pickup and properly dispose of pet waste inside garage trash cans.

*Trash and Garage Use - Please keep garage doors closed at all times when not in use and store any overflow trash inside garage to keep from local wildlife.

*No large events (i.e weddings) are allowed on property per Sonoma County Short Term Rental Property Ordinance. Maximum number of daytime adult guests is 18 total including overnight adult guests at any one time per day; not including children under 3.

*All guests must observe Sonoma County requirements for noise levels Residential Property Noise Limits. Quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am everyday, no exceptions. Amplified music or loud voices are not allow at anytime of day as a courtesy to neighbors.

*Parking - Please only park inside our secure gated area with a strictly enforced maximum number of 6-7 total standard/small sized vehicles; 2 cars parked inside garage and 4 outside within gated parking area on the property parking area only. No parking outside the property gate on neighbors property, sorry no exceptions. We have fantastic neighbors that are great folks, please be kind and courteous during your stay.
