Willow Cottage @ Barte Woods has a long history. The woods have been in our family since 1933, and the guest cottage has been expanded four times through three generations! The cottage has a living/dining space with cute wood stove (wood provided), smart TV, comfy loveseat sofa, armchair and dining table. The well equipped kitchen has the handmade cabinets from the very first cabin on the property, and includes modern conveniences of a full size fridge, gas stove and microwave.

The master bedroom has a king sized Heavenly® bed. Enjoy the majestic trees and pond beyond through the 7’ patio doors, or step out onto the sunny patio and listen to the birdsong. Please note the master bedroom is accessed via the jack and jill bathroom - a quirk of a cottage built up over many decades! Please also be aware that the cottage has steps Inside the home if any guests have mobility issues.

The second bedroom has a built in twin sized cabin bed, plus a spacious desk for work from home options. The fast WiFi adds to the convenience.

A Beautiful and Serene Retreat On the Banks of the Ten Mile River-- and Only a Stone's Throw from Miles of Beach and Dunes. Open floor plan, fully outfitted kitchen, 2 Bedroom, 1.5 Bath, Sleeps 6. Queen bed in the master bedroom, Queen bed in the second bedroom and a queen size sofabed in the living room. There are two extra queen size futons stored above the closet in each bedroom. Fireplace, laundry room. There is a large deck surrounding the entire house with a 4-person hot tub, chaise lounges, chairs and dining table all overlooking the river and the beach. There is also Traeger Smoker/Grill and a Weber propane BBQ on the deck for outdoor cooking. Starlink WiFi throughout the house.

The house is on the river about 500 yards from the Pacific ocean. You can kayak from the front yard either up-river or toward the ocean. Up-river is absolutely breathtaking. The estuary is a Marine Sanctuary and it is totally protected. It stretches east for several miles and has many side channels and inlets to explore. As you head deeper east into the estuary it transitions from brackish to fresh water. It can often be sunny along the river when it's foggy on the beach, and you can easily find great places to swim and picnic.

If you venture toward the ocean you'll find two exquisite beaches to the north and south. The beach to the north, Seaside Beach, is strikingly beautiful with huge rocks and caves. It's also one of the few State Park beaches that allows dogs! There is a large and deep cave at the extreme north end of the beach that is accessible when the tide is right. The cave goes completely through the bluff and leads to a secret cove with its own beach. Ten Mile Beach is to the south. It is a huge complex of dunes and is part of MacKerricher State Park. It's great habitat for the endangered Snowy Plover. The beach stretches south for at least six miles. It's incredible for both jogging or hiking. It's covered with sand dollars, shells, and all kinds of other marine life. Also, there are very few people on the beach. You will almost always have the entire beach to yourself. It's very romantic. The hiking is amazing, and the birdwatching is world class. Bring a good pair of binoculars!

Directly in front of the house is the river. Every year families of harbor seals haul out of the river every day and sun themselves on the riverbank. Typically, the seals are swimming around in the river in front of the house. Momma seals and their pups frolic together all the time. I've watched momma seals nursing their pups many times just sitting on my deck. There are also otters, and more birds than I can name: Great Blue Heron, Green Heron, Egrets, Osprey, Mallards, Canada Geese, Snow Geese, Mergansers, Grebe, Belted Kingfisher, Cormorants, Pelicans, Caspian Terns, and even a pair of Bald Eagles! The list goes on and on.

If you've got a canoe, kayaks or bicycles bring them. However, I have a three-person canoe and a small kayak and two paddle boards that guests are welcome to use.

If you like the outdoors, there are many things to do without ever leaving the property. If you start to crave civilization, the Town of Fort Bragg is only 15 minutes away. There, you'll find plenty of good restaurants, galleries, a movie theatre, Glass Beach, the Skunk Train, Noyo Harbor, North Coast Brewery, and many other attractions unique to the area. Another 15 minutes to the south along Highway One is the Village of Mendocino. This charming hamlet is filled with fine restaurants, shops, and the natural beauty of the beaches, bluffs, and Big River. Both towns are worth exploring.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please bear in mind that booking requests which include only one weekend day will likely be declined by the owner. This is especially true during Holidays, Spring Break, or any period of high demand. Such reservation requests reduce the number of full weekends the house can be available to other interested renters and are disfavored for that reason.

Modern farmhouse cottage set on 5 private acres including an apple orchard, 100 year old water tower, outbuildings and several majestic cypress and cedar trees. The home offers elegance and comfort rarely available on the coast. You will also find that any stay here is as much about enjoying the land as it is the house. Once an active homestead, this property is simply a delight to experience.

The recently renovated home has two similarly sized bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, a living room and a modern kitchen/diner that opens onto the south facing patio, complete with fire pit. The bedrooms each have a queen bed, accommodating 4 guests. 1 additional guest can be accommodated on a fold away single bed, which can be set up on request in either of the bedrooms. (Please request this prior to arrival.). A spacious patio links the home to the water tower, which offers a hammock retreat space. This is the place to watch the wildlife in the morning, or enjoy the sun setting on the treetops by the fire pit in the evening.

The house has been meticulously refurbished using old growth redwood, salvaged from the home during the remodel. Featuring many modern amenities, the renovated space still honors the property's 100 year-plus homestead history.

There are 13 well established apple trees on the property, from which guests can enjoy picking their own apples during harvest season, September through November. Each season though brings its own natural joys, such as the apple blossom in March, the magnificent rhododendrons in April or the foxgloves in June.

Since this is a working harbor, the sounds of harbor life might not suit light sleepers, but if you like unusual environments and new

THIS RENTAL IS LOCATED IN AN RV PARK IN THE HARBOR

This rental is located in a classic, old school RV park that have been in the harbor for decades. I personally think that is adds to the rustic harbor experience but there are some who do not like being in an RV park. Please look through all of the photos on this rental so you can get an idea of what the park is like so you can make a personal determination if this is right for you .

IN THE HOUSE
The house binder on the kitchen counter has just about all the information you might possibly need and probably a little more. There are 2 Television sets in the home, one in the living room downstairs and another in the Beanbag room in the loft. The instructions for both TV's are in the binder towards the back for your convenience.

GARBAGE
There are garbage cans for the trailer park at the inside entrance to the park on the left side when looking back from the unit.

VEHICLES
There is room for one vehicle which can park directly beside the unit. If there is need for a second vehicle, please reach out to us so we can try to accommodate if possible. Since the parking is right beside the unit and there are other units close by, please try to be as quiet as possible early in the morning and late at night. Thank you !

This cozy house was just built on 3-acres. This property has all modern appliances & everything you will need for cooking. There is a covered front porch that overlooks a garden & has a barbecue for a relaxing meal. The back of the property has a fire pit & table for roasting marshmallows. Two walking blocks away is the Botanical Gardens where you will experience vast gardens and spectacular views, and maybe see a pod of whales. The house has a private driveway and a code to get in.

- "We loved the fire pit— it’s easy to pick up plenty of wood from the surrounding forest. The outdoor shower was great too! Super quiet." - "The cabin was amazing, cozy and private. My only suggestions would be to provide bug spray or citronella candles. Bugs weren't crazy but those tiny mosquitoes were such an annoyance. As long as we kept moving, which we did, we weren't bothered. The properties little trails were fun, lots of surprises and areas we could sit and meditate for short periods. We wanted to take all our trash out however, traveling from Idaho we didn't plan on bringing any trash bags and we had to empty one of our luggage bags to remove the garbage. I do suggest having at least one bag on site for us travelers, traveling astronomical miles. The out house and outdoor shower, again amazing. I do give this place 5+ stars, I would travel back again and again."

Located on the property of the historic Weller House, the unique 4 story water tower was rebuilt on the footprint of the original water tower that once served as the main water source for the town. From the rooftop deck, you will enjoy a 360 panoramic view of the town and the ocean. Watch the boats going by and look for whales migrating twice a year!

This cabin is the most secluded on our property and ahas access to a shared kitchen and bathroom.

The cabin has a queen bed on the first floor and a queen bed in the loft. A nice deck overlooks the orchard.  You have your own outdoor picnic table and fire ring.  You have access to a shared kitchen and bathroom in an adjoining building. The kitchen has an electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, blender and all pots and pans and cooking equipment.  It has a small eat in kitchen.  The shared bathroom includes an ADA shower, toilet, sink.  Linens and towels are provided.  Firewood is provided.  Your cabin is a short walk to the ocean and miles of trails in Jug Handle Preserve.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: You are free to wander at will through the forested 5 acres here. There are steep trails that go down to Pudding Creek itself on the south, or wander through the redwoods of the canyon on the west. Bears and mountain lions have been seen in the area, Occasionally deer, foxes, squirrels, skunks, raccoons, turkeys, etc. If you're lucky you may hear great-horned owls and see osprey or otters. It's a little bit of nature barely 1 mile from town.
This Airbnb is not set up for infants or small children, and is more appropriate for older kids.
Please note, the pond is for adult viewing enjoyment and is not a children's play pool. Children of all ages must be closely supervised and stay away from the loose rock edges, as well as keep pets away. The pond is a habitat for critters: frogs, newts, salamanders, pond snakes and the occasional turtle up from the creek. Sorry - NO fish....
For fish and sea lions go down to Noyo Harbor. For harbor seals, birds and tidepools, go up to MacKerricher's Board Walk out to Laguna Point.

While you’re here, kick back and find quarter at the POOP DECK, A luxury glamper in the heart of historic Noyo Harbor.

Kayaking, canoeing, hiking, biking, surfing… you name it, we have it! You’ll never be bored while you’re here. You might even find some treasure at our local shops. (Just remember, X marks the spot!)

Whether you’re kicking back after a long day on the beach (its hard work, but somebody’s gotta do it, right?) or you’re taking a break between adventures, the POOP DECK is a great home base.

It’s a relaxing refuge where you can unwind and rest up for the next day’s adventures. The main bedroom has a queen bed, and 4 bunk beds are located on the opposite end of the unit. They all have top-of-the-line mattresses that are custom-made locally, so you’re in for a great night’s sleep!

This 37-foot-long trailer has around 319 square feet of interior space and a maximum capacity of 2 adults and 4 children.

Important: There are 4 beds in this unit: a queen-sized bed at one end and 3 bunk beds on the opposite end. This unit is perfect for an adult couple with kids. The bunk beds are small and will not be very comfortable for adults or tall people.
Since this is a working harbor, the sounds of harbor life might not suit light sleepers, but if you like unusual environments and new experiences, then you are in for a treat! Let the barking seals, the soothing harbor foghorn, the boats coming and going, and the lapping tide lull you into a blissful and calm state.

This unit is located in the Sportsman RV Park in the heart of Noyo Harbor.

Noyo Harbor
Noyo Harbor was first established as a port for logging and fishing back in the late 1800s. It is an active, fully operational harbor, the first such harbor north of San Francisco Bay.

The harbor is reminiscent of the famous Cannery Row in Monterey, which includes fisheries and a full marina with classic and vintage fishing vessels of all types. The harbor is a wonderful place for seal-watching, kayaking, or just sitting back and enjoying the foghorn and the coming and going of boats.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, you can find plenty of fine and casual dining options within walking distance of each other. You can’t go wrong with the delicious fresh fish, caught by local fishermen and prepared by talented local chefs. (Excellent vegetarian dishes are always available, too.)

There have been many classic movies and T.V shows filmed here over the years, including The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming! (1966), Humanoids from the Deep (1980), Overboard with Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn (1987), and the T.V series Murder, She Wrote (1980s).

Definition of an actual Poop Deck
In naval architecture, a poop deck is a deck that forms the roof of a cabin built in the rear, or "aft", part of the superstructure of a ship.

The name originates from the French word for stern, la poupe, from Latin puppis. Thus the poop deck is technically a stern deck, which in sailing ships was usually elevated as the roof of the stern or "after" cabin, also known as the "poop cabin". On sailing ships, the helmsman will steer the craft from the quarter deck, immediately in front of the poop deck. At the stern, the poop deck provides an elevated position ideal for observation.

On modern, motorized warships, the ship functions which were once carried out on the poop deck have been moved to the bridge, usually located on the superstructure in the center of ships.

THIS RENTAL IS LOCATED IN AN RV PARK IN THE HARBOR

This rental is located in a classic, old school RV park that have been in the harbor for decades. I personally think that is adds to the rustic harbor experience but there are some who do not like being in an RV park. Please look through all of the photos on this rental so you can get an idea of what the park is like so you can make a personal determination if this is right for you .

UNLOCKING THE FRONT DOOR

Using the door lock : When you arrive, go to the black key pad on the door, press the corresponding numbers for the code itself. After you press the last number press the unlock button in the image in the center and wait 5 seconds. You will hear a chime indicating that the door is unlocked. Proceed to pull the handle and the door will open.

IN THE HOUSE
This rental is all about getting away from it all, the unit does have WiFi but NO PHONE in the unit. The beds are all custom made and are super comfy. There is some super cool ceiling mood lighting as well as a small deck to get out end enjoy the sounds and feel of the harbor.

GARBAGE
There are garbage cans for the trailer park at the inside entrance to the park on the left side when looking back from the unit.

VEHICLES
There is only room for one vehicle which can park directly beside the unit. If there is need for a second vehicle, please reach out to us so we can try to accommodate if possible. Since the parking is right behind the unit and there are other units close by, please try to be as quiet as possible early in the morning and late at night. Thank you !

PAY ATTENTION AND BE SAFE
Children must be supervised at all times on the wharf. No climbing on the railing at any time for both children and adults

We do charge a fee of seventy five dollars per pet.

This rental is completely pet friendly - We do charge a flat rate pet fee of $75.00 per pet and that fee covers the whole stay!

If you want to experience all that Fort Bragg/Mendocino has to offer such as hiking the Redwoods, numerous restaurants, going to one of the many beaches, Ocean Kayaking, Horseback riding on the Beach, Wine Tasting, visiting the many art galleries, or shopping in quaint Mendocino Village & Fort Bragg at an affordable price that won’t break your budget, then you need to stay at the “Driftwood” in Historic Noyo Harbor.

Not only are there are 5 restaurants, Whale Watching/Fishing Charter Boats, & a beach within walking distance, but you can enjoy watching the Harbor Seals playing, the boats coming in & out of the Harbor, enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, or a glass of wine while watching the sunset in the evening, fishing, or having a picnic without even leaving, all on our Private Dock that all renters have access too. It's such a fun atmosphere with all of the other renter's hanging out too. It's your choice to be as social or as private as you choose. There will be no doubt that you are on the ocean with the sounds of the barking seals the squawking seagulls, the waves & the harbor fog horn.

Driftwood is a 5th wheel RV featuring a spacious kitchen & living area, queen size beds in both the master bedroom & living area, nearly 330 sq. feet in all. The high ceilings add to a feeling of openness. Extra attention has been given to the outdoor area of this upgrade to make your visit even more enjoyable whether inside or outside.

Noyo Harbor

Back in the late 1800s, Noyo Harbor was first established as a port for logging and fishing.

The Noyo Harbor is an active, fully operational harbor and is in fact the first harbor North of San Francisco Bay.

The harbor is reminiscent of the famous cannery row in Monterey which includes fisheries and a full marina with classic and vintage fishing vessels of all types. The harbor is a wonderful place to view plentiful seals coming and going, to kayak or to just sit back and enjoy the sound of the fog horn and watch the boats coming and going.

There have been many classic movies and T.V Shows filmed here through the years including The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming (1966), Humanoids from the deep (1980), Overboard with Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn (1987) and the T.V series Murder She Wrote in the 80’s.

loose on the Mendocino Coast? We have the perfect place for you: the Cowabunga, a fully
restored 1973 Airstream Land Yacht, a “blast from the past” fixed up with all the modern
comforts. Located in the heart of historic Noyo Harbor at Sportsmans Park, this unique RV is an
ideal base camp for your Mendo adventures.

Kayaking, canoeing, hiking, biking, surfing… you name it, we have it! You’ll never be bored while
you’re here. Colorful and quirky shops (including Lost Surf Shack), art galleries, wineries and
breweries, restaurants, and pubs are a great way to experience the local scene. For a quieter night
in, the Cowabunga has a TV, Wi-Fi, CD player, movies, and a collection of board games.
From the Cowabunga, you can walk to Noyo Harbor Beach. A short drive away, Pudding Creek and
Virgin Creek to the north and Caspar and Big River to the south offer the white sand beach
experience and some righteous waves.

Whether you’re relaxing after a long day on the beach (it’s hard work, but somebody’s gotta do it,
right?) or you’re taking a break between adventures, you’ll relish returning to the Cowabunga. It’s a
relaxing refuge where you can unwind and rest up for the next day’s adventures.
This 173-square-foot Airstream has a studio-style layout and features a couch that opens up into a
full-size bed, along with a fully equipped kitchen and roomy bathroom (complete with the highest of
RV luxuries, a regular flush toilet). In the kitchen, you’ll find a 4-top gas stove and oven, a
refrigerator, a microwave, a sink, and a coffee maker.

As the Cowabunga sleeps 2, this RV-turned-surf-shack is perfect for a romantic vacation or a trip
with a good buddy. If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime summer trip (or winter – it’s California,
after all), this is it… except after you visit, you’ll want to come back every chance you get. Get ready
for a far-out vacation at the Cowabunga!

Come stay in my room while I’m in School

This 1 bedroom cabin is situated on 13 acres of a homestead that dates back to the 1800. It's looks out over an apple orchard, fields and is surrounded by large redwoods.

The space
Fire pit is available for your use, lots of room to hike.

Guest access
You are welcome to the field, and orchard. Property goes to the west to the fence line, to the east in the field, it goes to the area of a ditch. We will have trails to the south soon.

We have WIFI right now, but do not have cable TV, we have a smart tv, that is good for pandora, hulu, and a dvd player with some dvd movies.
