We are committed to Rent Responsibly standards. This means we follow best-in-class guidelines to ensure you have a peaceful, safe and memorable stay with us. We care a lot about maintaining good relationships with our community, so we appreciate you following these "house rules" during your stay.

LODGING AGREEMENT: The guest booking the property must digitally sign a lodging agreement immediately following the reservation. The most important terms of the agreement are included below, and the guest may cancel a booking penalty free within 24 hours. If the lodging agreement is not completed with 24 hours then the reservation will be cancelled. The agreement will be sent via text message, so please be sure your phone number is correct before booking.

AGE 25 OR OLDER TO BOOK: The guest booking the property must be 25 years of age or older. We reserve the right to request a photo or scan of a government-issued photo ID. The guest who books must stay at the property--you may not book for others if you do not intend to stay at the property.

QUIET HOURS START AT 10 PM: Our property's quiet hours of 10 pm to 6 am are required by county ordinance and enforced by local police. If the police respond to a noise complaint, every individual on the property may face a misdemeanor criminal charge and be subject to a fine by the county of $300. Failure to abide by the county noise ordinance will result in the immediate termination of the stay without refund.

Past noise complaints have always come from groups of 20-somethings. If you are booking for a group of people in their twenties and you think your group may want to play loud music at any time then do not book this property or cancel your reservation if you have already booked. Find another place for your trip so you do not have your trip terminated early and without refund.

NOISE MONITORING AND SECURITY CAMERA: We use devices that measure volume levels throughout the property (like a smoke detector but for noise) and allow us to respond to noise nuisances before the police are called. The devices are triggered primarily by sustained periods of loud music, not things like loud talking or laughter (which is encouraged!). The devices do not record audio and are 100% privacy compliant. We also have a security camera that records the front door and driveway. This allows us to facilitate remote check in and monitor the property between guests.

ACCIDENT FORGIVENESS: Every stay is backed by our accident forgiveness program. Guests will not be held responsible for damage caused during their stay (up to a maximum of $1,500) if 1) the damage is accidental, and 2) the damage is reported as soon as possible, and by no later than the check out time.

POSSIBLE BACKGROUND CHECK: We reserve the right to use a third-party to verify the guest's identity and check criminal databases to finalize the reservation. Complete terms regarding the guest verification are provided in the lodging agreement, and can be provided sooner upon request.

NO PETS: No exceptions, sorry. Please don't ask whether we can allow your perfectly house-trained, hypoallergenic labradoodle to join because we can't :-)

STEEP ROADS: Please be aware that the roads up to the top of the mountain and the driveway to the property can be very steep. In the snow it can be difficult to access the property. At all other times access is not difficult, but driving on steep mountain roads may make some people nervous. If that sounds like you, it might be better to reserve a property that is not along the top of the Blue Ridge. Steep mountain roads are often what it takes to get incredible views like the ones from this cabin, and those who can manage the drive won't be disappointed!

SNOW-INS: During the winter, four wheel drive, snow tires/chains, and a car with good clearance are HIGHLY recommended in the event of a snow storm or heavy rain, as there is a good chance that a significant snow storm could restrict access in and out of the house. You need to use good judgement as to whether to cancel a trip before it begins or leave the house early.

BUGS: This is a house in the woods--that means there are lots of bugs, especially in the summertime. Even if you are careful some of those bugs will find their way into the house. The best way to minimize the number of bugs inside is to keep doors and windows closed at all times. Please also carefully clean up the kitchen every night and securely package up all food.

SMOKING: Smoking is never allowed inside the house. You may smoke outside as long as you clean up after yourself. You may not litter cigarette butts on the deck, in the yard, or anywhere else--butts must go in the trash after they have cooled off.

SHEETS: At the end of your stay you will be asked to strip the sheets off the beds that were used and leave the sheets on top of the beds.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY FOR USE OF THE HOT TUB: By using the hot tub you agree to follow all house rules associated with it and you release the owner of the property and the manager from all liability relating to injuries that may occur while using the hot tub, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence.

SEPTIC SYSTEM: This house has a septic system. Grease and oil must never be allowed down any of the sink drains. Feminine hygiene products must be thrown away in a trash can and not flushed down a toilet. Never flush solid trash down the toilet or into a sink drain.

NO FIREWORKS: Fireworks are not allowed.

NO FIREARMS: Guests may not bring firearms or ammunition inside the house.

NO ILLEGAL DRUGS: Guests may not possess or consume any illegal drugs on the property, including cannabis.

Charming, Cozy, Mountain Cabin in the Woods
Cabin
Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, USA

Reservations Being Welcomed for 2026 !!

We are excited to be winding down for this year while looking forward to another beautiful season hosting guests at our Moonridge Cottage, with the continued anticipation of providing you with a fun and unique place to stay while exploring the Harpers Ferry area, or just hanging out and relaxing. We continue to be very grateful for all of the wonderful folks that have spent time with us these last 10 years - and would be happy to have you all come back in the future. We will do our very best to assure that our cabin is perfect for your stay. We intend to keep our nightly rate constant at $185, regardless of which nights you choose to stay. We do have a few simple policies regarding dogs staying at Moonridge - please read them in this description below.
We continue to offer our mountain home as the the perfect place for your weekend of peace and quiet in nature while enjoying the clean, cozy comforts of home.

Moonridge Cottage is a lovely rustic yet modern cabin just 90 min from DC, Baltimore and Northern Virginia, tucked away at the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains of West Virginia in the Shannondale neighborhood. We invite you to schedule a long weekend in these beautiful mountains and celebrate the beauty of nature's offerings - hiking, fishing, rafting, kayaking, sightseeing, or just relaxing in our cozy home, especially on the large screened porch.
Moonridge is the mountain home of Anne and Paul Eggers and is available for vacation rental during spring, summer and fall (April-early December). This eclectic home (recently dubbed “quirky cool”) is decorated with colorful touches and specially chosen works of art which make it feel warm and welcoming. From your first walk into this charming home to your departure drive back down the mountain, we hope you will make many happy memories here with friends and family. The cabin is all on one level, with only one short step into the entryway from the stone path. It has hardwood flooring and area rugs, no carpet.
Two bedrooms (master with queen bed; second bedroom with two twins). Some small toys in twin bed room. Huge screened porch with porch swing, table and 4 chairs, and new (2023) loveseat/swivel chairs grouping - great spot for morning coffee, evening glass of wine, watching the local wildlife and sunset over the distant Shenandoah River. You are welcome to plug-in the lighted stars, colorful globe, and the little water fountain. The kitchen is well-equipped -new refrigerator (2020) and electric oven (2021), 12-cup drip coffeemaker (coffee and filters provided), cookware, cookie sheets, cutlery set, blender, hand mixer, toaster, microwave, Crock Pot, roasting pan, large salad bowl, all dishes/glassware/silverware, small Brita water pitcher, Cuisinart waffle iron, and stocked with basic staples. If you choose to eat-in you are welcome to bring your own food. We are located 20 minutes UP the mountain from the nearest restaurants and grocery stores of Harper’s Ferry and Charles Town, so please keep this in mind when planning your meals.

The main living area has comfortable sofa and chairs, brand new small (2022) combo TV/DVD with ChromeCast for streaming from your devices on our TV, Xfinity TV, and a DVD library of cool movies. Enjoy our vaulted ceiling with three new, crystal clear skylights, and a Jotul wood stove for those chilly spring/fall evenings. Wood is abundant on our lot, and there are also a couple of woodpiles and a saw and hatchet in the lower crawl space for you to use if you wish. Our home can be heated by a gas furnace, if needed. Our bedrooms have small space heaters to keep you warm at night, if needed. There are five new lighted ceiling fans throughout the cabin, one in the main room, one in each bedroom, and two indoor/outdoor lighted fans on the porch. We have added a keyless-entry door, sliding kitchen window, and two energy efficient air conditioners located in the main room and master bedroom. Our washer and dryer are also new (2025 and 2019). The cabin was freshly painted in the Spring of 2017. Other amenities include hair dryer, umbrellas, Dry-Stix, 2 yoga mats and blocks, Pak 'N Play crib and sheets, a pair of Leki hiking poles, and Weber charcoal grill with charcoal chimney - use of charcoal lighter fluid or other accelerants is prohibited. Charcoal is provided. We recently added 2 comfy folding camp chairs for those who love to sit outside, and 2 vintage teak lawn chairs. We have a small Magnus chord organ and a small steel tongue drum (2021) for our musical guests, a kalimba, and we have a small tuned guitar hanging on the wall. All linens (kitchen, bathroom and bedroom) are included - if you are planning any outdoor water activities (e.g rafting or tubing), bring your own towels for that, please do not use the cabin towels.
We have excellent Internet and WiFi service at Moonridge, so you stay connected even out here in the woods. Network and passcode are on cards that we keep in the bedrooms and in our Welcome notebook.
We’ve been often asked about the quality of our well water...not only is it potable, it is very delicious, and completely safe.

THERE IS NO OUTDOOR BURNING OF ANY KIND ALLOWED ON OUR PROPERTY, and Moonridge is strictly a No Smoking home. Firearms are ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED at Moonridge. We do not have local trash service as we cannot tempt “critters” in the wild, and we ask that our guests pack out their trash, or if that’s not possible, that it be left inside the cabin (or in the crawl space) for us to pick up after you leave. We also have a dedicated recycling bin - you can leave your recycles, or take them out with you. Usual check-in time is 3pm, check-out is 12noon, but these times can be flexible.

Area attractions: explore Harpers Ferry National Historic Park, the Appalachian Trail and ATC Visitor Center in town, Charles Town Races and Casino, Antietam National Battlefield, Historic Shepherdstown, fishing, tubing, canoeing, white water rafting and kayaking on the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers. Zipline and treetop course nearby at Harpers Ferry Adventure Park, unique local dining, shopping, wineries and breweries, and antiquing in quaint historic towns (Shepherdstown and Charles Town, WV, Leesburg, VA, and Frederick, MD). Hiking and biking along river roads and the C&O Canal, or simply relax and enjoy your escape from the outside world. Kids might enjoy the Leesburg Animal Park in Leesburg, VA. For auto sports fans, we are about 20 minutes from Summit Point Motorsport Park. We are only 2 miles from the Mountain Lake Club, home to a 55-acre lake that provides beach time, boating and kayaking all for a day pass fee.

RE: Handicapped Accessible - The paved driveway is quite steep, but parking at the top is fairly level. The stone path to the house from the driveway is not smooth but is lighted with small solar lights. There is one stone step going into the cabin - guests with walkers will be OK, cottage is honestly not wheelchair-friendly. Bathroom doorway and bathroom itself are narrow.
This is a very "prop-your-feet-on-the-furniture" spot, for making yourself totally at home. If you're squeamish about about stink bugs and little spiders, this is probably not the place for you. The cabin was built in the 1940's, and altho it’s far from a glitzy hotel room, we are sure that it’s clean, casual setting is the perfect place for relaxing, recharging, and refreshing body and soul. It's about 800 square feet, and with only one bathroom, more than 4 people will be very tight.
RE: Kid-friendly - Kids love building forts and rock cairns in the surrounding woods (cabin sits on 1/2 acre of woods), sleeping on the porch in summertime (BYO sleeping bags!) and wading/rock-hopping in the Shenandoah River, which is a short drive from Moonridge. There may be wildlife visible from the screened-in porch and all the windows. Kids love the Moonridge Scavenger Hunt that awaits them.
Smoking is NOT allowed. NO smoking on the screened porch either.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at no extra charge, and must be on leash at all times outside the cabin. We also require that they be crated when left alone in our home, and they are not allowed on the furniture or on the beds. No other pets are allowed. We offer a small water dish and small leash. When booking your stay, please indicate that you will be bringing your pup(s) along with you.

We are currently into our eleventh year of hosting guests, and are excited about welcoming you in the coming season. We did appreciate that especially the years of 2020-22 our guests were seeking a clean, safe, and secure place to spend time off ....that is what we offered, and continue to offer, to everyone. It’s our pleasure to open our door wide to new adventurers, and our “old” friends alike. See you at Moonridge!

Guest Reviews:

- "I cannot recommend this place enough. The cabin itself was absolutely beautiful, along with all the decorations and even amenities provided. My friends and I barbecued and had all the supplies needed to do so. There were coloring books, a radio, TV/DVDs, all the essentials for a great cabin weekend. Additionally, the host was incredible. We arrived to a surprise of snacks and wine. This made the weekend so much more special. The host was very responsive and lovely, and even mailed us a postcard after our stay. Thank you so much for an amazing weekend!"

STEEP ROADS: Please be aware that the roads up to the top of the mountain can be very steep.

REMOTE LOCATION: Please be aware that this cabin is a good 20 min drive from the nearest full-service grocery store. If you're looking for seclusion, this is it! But if you prefer being close to store then this may not be the place for you.

EV CHARGING: We have partnered with Ok2Charge to provide Level 2 EV charging. Payment is required.

SNOW-INS: During the winter, four wheel drive, snow tires/chains, and a car with good clearance are HIGHLY recommended in the event of a snow storm or heavy rain, as there is a good chance that a significant snow storm could restrict access in and out of the cabin. You need to use good judgement as to whether to cancel a trip before it begins or leave the cabin early.

BUGS: This is a cabin in the woods--that means there are lots of bugs, especially in the summertime. Even if you are careful some of those bugs will find their way into the cabin. The best way to minimize the number of bugs inside is to keep doors and windows closed at all times. Please also carefully clean up the kitchen every night and securely package up all food.

WOOD STOVE: You are encouraged to use the wood stove as long as you do so carefully! Always keep the glass door closed unless you are actively putting logs inside the stove. The stove can get very hot, so be sure to keep small children away whenever a fire is burning. We do not guarantee there will be wood or fire starter there, so please plan to bring your own.

SMOKING: Smoking is never allowed inside the cabin.

SEPTIC SYSTEM: This cabin has a septic system.

Guest Reviews:

- "I wanted to have a relaxing stay in the mountains and this place certainly delivered. I appreciate the clear communication and instructions from the host-the house guide was convenient. The house was clean, the beds super comfortable, kitchen stocked with exactly what was needed. Took a short walk to the Appalachian trail as well as an afternoon into Harpers Ferry. Loved watching the deer, wild turkeys, bunnies, and squirrels as I rocked on the porch. Highly recommend."

- "Excellent stay!!! Everything we needed and more!!!" - "We had a lovely time staying in this cabin, which is close enough to any necessity as to be convenient, but secluded enough to make you feel like you're truly away from civilization! The furnishings were very comfortable, the hot tub was a wonderful treat, and the host was friendly and responsive. We will definitely stay again the next time we're in Harper's Ferry! (Oh, and the commitment to the bear theme delighted our whole party. All in all, we counted 72 bears on various pieces of decor)"

Guest Reviews:

- "What a slick operation Mountain Mama has - from the text communications, check-in process, check-out process, to the property itself - in both design and accommodations - including the little "extras" (branded whole bean coffee and BIG mugs stocked in the kitchen), I wouldn't rent from anywhere else in the area again! We enjoyed the PERFECT girls' weekend in this spacious, comfortable, and bougie home. All the rooms were large and roomy, plenty of privacy when needed, but the deliciously spacious common areas beckoned for shared quality girls' time! Traveling up the mountain and driveway wasn't too daunting, but it is a remote location - no pizza delivery :) And YES we too saw a bear rummaging through the driveway trashcan! So exciting! Thank you for a memorable getaway!"

We are committed to Rent Responsibly standards. This means we follow best-in-class guidelines to ensure you have a peaceful, safe and memorable stay with us. We care a lot about maintaining good relationships with our community, so we appreciate you following these "house rules" during your stay.

LICENSE AGREEMENT: The guest booking the property must digitally sign a license agreement immediately following the reservation. The most important terms of the agreement are included below, and the guest may cancel a booking penalty free within 24 hours. If the license agreement is not completed with 24 hours then the reservation will be cancelled.

DOG ALLERGY WARNING: While we do not allow pets, there have been dogs in this house before. Those with severe dog allergies may want to find a different place to stay.

REMOTE LOCATION: Please be aware that this cabin is a good 20 min drive from the nearest full-service grocery store. If you're looking for seclusion, this is it! But if you prefer being close to store then this may not be the place for you.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY FOR USE OF HOT TUB : The hot tub remains open year round. If you use the hot tub it is your responsibility to ensure the water remains chemically balanced and safe to use before you use it. By using the hot tub you agree to follow all house rules associated with it and you release the owner of the property from all liability relating to injuries that may occur while using the hot tub, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence.

NO SMOKING: Smoking is never allowed inside the house.

Guest Reviews:

- "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Rebel’s Rest. Everything was perfect and the host provided many suggestions for activities and restaurants. The view from the deck is amazing! We were very comfortable and happy with the layout and amenities in the cabin. Great place for a romantic getaway, family event, or a girlfriends weekend. Well done Mountain Mama! We plan on staying at your original cabin on the lake next time. 😄" - "This place had the most amazing views of the mountains and the Shenandoah river. The place was very clean and the beds were comfortable as well. There was only one issue with the TV in the play area, but that was resolved. We will definitely stay here again sometime in the future."

Guest Reviews:

- "Great" - "We absolutely loved this cabin! It is beautiful inside and the views are great. The property manager was on point whenever I texted to ask any questions. Check in was a breeze. The cabin is so close to Charles Town yet you feel like you are so far away. The hot tub was wonderful and so was the firepit. We will definitely be back" - "We loved the cabin and had everything we needed for a long weekend getaway. Having the bedroom on the main level with a handicap 19 year old child was such a relief. It was very quiet and relaxing and we loved how close it was to Antietam battlefield and Washington DC. The only little critique I would give is getting down to the hot tub area could be a little easier and the roads up to the cabin are narrow and steep but we had no issues and would definitely be back again. And the listing said no TV but there was a tv in the living area which was great considering it was baseball opening weekend."

Guest Reviews:

- "This was a really nice place for our family, ages from 2 to 70. Plenty of places in the house to gather as well as plenty of places for privacy and solitude when you need it. Well maintained, cozy, quiet and everything you might need. View of the valley and sunsets are beautiful. Hot tub a nice bonus. As was the garage for times when the little kids needed space to be wild and blow off steam. Note: Last few miles of road to the cabin are steep for sure. If driving in winter weather be prepared."

- "We LOVED the fenced in yard, patio, yard games, everything was so clean. We will be back for sure when we can stay longer!" - "The property was lovely. We had a wonderful time. The clubhouse was a great little place." - "My husband and I had purchased tickets for the Jefferson500 races all weekend at Summit Point race tracks which was just about a 15min drive from this location, so it was perfect. The process for arriving and leaving was absolutely seamless and simple. Jacqueline seemed to always be at the ready to respond to any questions and inquiries (thank you for dropping off the firewood!). The hot tub was even already turned on and heated up for us, ready for us to soak our sore muscles in! We had initially just brought our car for the weekend because it rained that first Friday but once we realized that it was going to be sunny all of the rest of the weekend, we decided to go back home and pick-up one of our motorcycles and what a great decision that was... (I mean you could hear everyone whizzing by the place on their ATV's and dirt bikes having the time of their life that Sat morning... And so glad that we took that opportunity because the roads around the Shore Lane... and all over Harper's Ferry were absolutely sublime.. Smooth, curvy with hills up and down. The cabin space, the cute patio lights, the small details of providing a cute basket with a whole skin care routine bottles for me to try out and Trader Joes, great quality hair and body shampoos were just the perfect sprinkle on top to our short weekend anniversary get-away!! We hope to be back soon!"

OPEN LOFT: The loft where bedroom 2 is located (with the queen bed) is open to the floor below, which may make it difficult for some people to sleep while there is activity in the main living room.

NO CURTAINS/BLINDS: Please note there are no curtains or blinds on the windows.

MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR SMALL CHILDREN: Certain features of the house may pose a particular danger to small children, including the widely spaced cable rails in the loft and the gate-less staircases. No special efforts have been made to “childproof” this cabin. Guests accept the risk of harm to any children we allow on the property.

Guest Reviews:

- "Clean comfortable property. Well equipped kitchen with modern appliances. The one thing that would make this house better would be an outdoor grill." - "The interior design was done very well with every accommodation needed. Sunsets were phenomenal. The property itself could be transformed by adding a hot tub, outdoor grill, fire pit with seating and updating the paint and landscaping." - "Lovely experience." - "It was great " - "We had an amazing weekend at the cabin. The house is beautiful and so were the views! I loved the layout of the house, because it really allowed for us to socialize and also do our own thing. The only comment we had was that the automated faucet in the kitchen was sometimes hard to use, but we figured it out! I will definitely book again with Mountain Mama Cabins!"

Whether you’re interested in hiking, history, fishing, or simply relaxing in a peaceful mountain setting, there’s something for everyone nearby offering a mix of outdoor activities, historical sites, and local charm! Here are some of our favorite points of interest:

              1. Harpers Ferry Historic District (distance from house - 18 mins): Stroll through the Historic District, with its cobblestone streets, old brick buildings, and charming shops. The district is a step back in time, with preserved 19th-century architecture. The Harpers Ferry Train Station is also a noteworthy stop if you love history and old railways. Feeling adventurous? Harpers Ferry has a haunted past, and there are ghost tours available in the evenings. You can explore the darker side of the town's history, visiting old churches, graveyards, and other eerie spots.

              2. Appalachian Trail (distance from house - 10 mins): Runs through Harpers Ferry, and the town is often considered the "psychological halfway point" for thru-hikers. If you're into hiking or nature walks, you can take a short hike to see breathtaking views of the Potomac River and the surrounding mountains.

              3. Jefferson Rock (distance from house - 20 mins): Located within the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Jefferson Rock is a scenic viewpoint named after Thomas Jefferson, who visited the area in 1783 and admired the view. It’s a short hike to the top, where you’ll get a fantastic view of the rivers and surrounding landscape.

              4. Tour the Local Wineries & Breweries (distance from house - 20 mins): Home to a number of local wineries and breweries. Stop by Breaux Vineyards or The Harpers Ferry Brewing Company for a relaxing afternoon of wine tasting or craft beer sampling.

              5. Catoctin Mountain Park (distance from house - 50 mins): A bit farther out, Catoctin Mountain Park offers great hiking opportunities with views of the surrounding landscape. It's a more rugged park with excellent trails for varying skill levels, including the Catoctin Mountain Trail and Blue Ridge Trail.

Harpers Ferry is a blend of adventure, entertainment, history, and nature. Whether you’re into hiking, kayaking, history, or betting on the slots, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in this beautiful, historic area.

              - "Very nice place. Staying in a silo was a unique experience. It snowed while we were there and it was beautiful. We would definitely stay again. There is a lot to see and do in Harper's Ferry and the surrounding area." - "My daughter and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. It was such a great location and the sweetest house. The house was incredibly unique, clean and had a great outdoor space. The only thing guest should plan additionally for is the cell phone service. Verizon costumers may find the service spotty in the Harpers Ferry location so take pictures or write down the check in information."

Please Note 2: While we pride ourselves in not creating a residence with multiple beds in one room like other AirBnB's, we want to be sure you understand when booking our property exactly what you are getting. We provided a PowerPoint diagram in our photos so you can see the different rooms, and sizes, as you plan who in your group gets to stay in each room. We thought it might be helpful to provide a little more information on each of the 6 rooms featured here, as well as information about the 2 Pull-out Sofas located in The Gallery and The Cave:

Diamond Suite: This is the ultimate master suite, or "Honeymoon suite," of the property. It is the largest suite at almost 700 sqft with hand-scraped Brazilian teak flooring. It has its own private balcony with an amazing view of Lake Shannondale directly from its King size bed; pellet fireplace; large luxury couch and matching chairs; ceiling fan; coffee bar with Keurig; tea kettle; and television. The bathroom is modeled after Ritz Carlton luxury with beautiful travertine tile, and includes a waterfall shower, custom stone sink, 7-foot jacuzzi tub, and toilet with a heated seat! Toiletry amenities include: hairdryer; shampoo; conditioner; body wash; hand soap; hand lotion; cotton balls, cotton pads; dental flossers; and Q-tips.

              The Jasper Su

The Crystal Room: The Crystal Room is adjacent to the Jasper Suite and outfitted with two Twin size beds. The Crystal Room has a ceiling fan, television and view of Lake Shannondale. Other amenities include: Children's board games; tea kettle; refrigerator; microwave; and ice maker & bucket.
ite: The Jasper Suite is a soothing and quiet retreat featuring beautiful Black Walnut floors and a King size bed. It is the second largest suite at almost 470 sq ft. We recommend this room for those visiting with children or infants. The Jasper Suite features an overstuffed gliding rocker chair for soothing infants and young children to sleep and has an amazing view of Lake Shannondale. Additional amenities include: ceiling fan; floor fan; ironing board; medical kit; white noise machine; and coffee bar with Keurig.

The Jasper Suite shares a ("Jack & Jill") bathroom with the Crystal Room. The bathroom includes natural travertine tiles and a 1-person jacuzzi tub with shower; toilet and sink. Toiletry amenities include: hairdryer; shampoo; conditioner; body wash; hand soap; hand lotion; cotton balls, cotton pads; dental flossers; and Q-tips.

Please Note: The Jasper Suite and Crystal Room are only accessible by a metal circular staircase. It's like going up to your own luxury tree/clubhouse and has its own Yale Keypad Lock to access these rooms.

The Coral Suite: The Coral Suite is a beautiful light-filled retreat featuring wood floors, ceiling fan, and an antique brass Queen size bed. It is the third largest suite at 360sqft, but appears much bigger because of the 22-foot vaulted ceiling. It features French doors that open onto the wrap-around balcony where guests can sit and enjoy the fresh mountain air. This suite offers a gas fireplace; bookcase with a wide assortment of books; and a 72-inch television! The Coral Suite features its own private full bathroom with porcelain tile, walk-in shower, sink, and toilet. Toiletry amenities include: hairdryer; shampoo; conditioner; body wash; hand soap; hand lotion; cotton balls, cotton pads; dental flossers; and Q-tips.

Please note: The Coral Suite has one-step down from the room's entrance and a one-step up for the French doors to the wrap-around porch.

The Gold Room: The Gold Room, is our second coziest room at 162 sqft, but has a vaulted ceiling with fan and provides the most amazing view of Lake Shannondale through a 7x5 foot picture window parallel to the Full size bed. It feels as if you are sleeping over the water! The Gold Room has its own private entrance onto the back deck overlooking the lake (which connects to the kitchen and Great Room). The Gold Room also offers a small television, but you will surely enjoy Nature's channel right outside your window!

The bathroom that services the Gold Room, Gallery Pull-out Sofa (and The Cave Pull-out Sofa) is a full bathroom with a brightly tiled walk-in shower; small sink; and toilet. It is located in the Gallery space about 8 feet from the Gold Room. There is also a 1/2 bath off the kitchen. Toiletry amenities include: hairdryer; shampoo; conditioner; body wash; hand soap; hand lotion; cotton balls, cotton pads; dental flossers; and Q-tips.

The Coal Room: Although this room is light and cozy at about 253 sq ft, it is cheerfully painted with a "fun in the sun" beach theme. It is situated on the front (east) and south side of the house. The room has three windows, with a view of the street and yard, not of the lake. It features beautiful Maple floors, a custom Queen size bed (handcrafted by Amish carpenters) and features its own private bathroom with brightly tiled walk-in shower, small sink, and toilet.

Please Note: There are two steps up to this bathroom and there is no door on the bathroom in order to maximize the small space. The bed is placed around the corner to provide some privacy, if need. The view from this room is the street and yard. There is no view of the lake, but there is a television. Toiletry amenities include: hairdryer; shampoo; conditioner; body wash; hand soap; hand lotion; cotton balls, cotton pads; dental flossers; and Q-tips.

The Gallery with Pull-out Sofa: The Gallery features a beautiful bright red couch with a Queen size Pull-out Sofa, positioned overlooking Lake Shannondale through another 7x5 foot picture window. It has a very similar view as the Gold Room overlooking the lake. The Gallery is an open floorplan, offering little to no privacy. There are 2 small dressers (12 drawer baskets) for storing clothes, but no closet. As stated above, the bathroom is shared with the Gold Room and there is also a 1/2 bath off the kitchen on the same level.

The Cave (Media/Entertainment Haven) with Pull-out Sofa: The Cave is located on the ground floor (half underground). This 995 sqft open floor plan features porcelain "wood looking" tile, a brand NEW (purchased April 2023) luxurious leather sectional that seats 5 people and includes a Queen size Pull-out Sofa. The Cave features a bar-height dining table (built with beautiful New Zealand pine) that comfortably seats 8. There is another "media table" behind the sectional that seats 3 (with charging station for those who like to multi-task). Your entertainment can be streamed (Apple TV) from the overhead projector and watched on the wall-size movie screen. The Cave features a fireplace that is perfect for use in the cooler Fall and Winter months (with stacked wood provided). French doors to the back of The Cave lead to the deck, 7-person hot tub, boardwalk, stone patio, firepit, private dock, and lake!

We offer guests 3 kayaks, 2 canoes, and 5 paddle boards (life jackets are available in a variety of sizes XS to 2XL).

921 Lakeside cannot be used to resell business services or as a hosting venue.

If you’re on an extended stay, please understand that our staff needs to access the hot tub at least once per week to maintain water quality.

              - "We stayed at Loving Gallery & Studio last weekend with a group of 15 for our Mothers 90th Birthday The home is just beautiful and well laid out for large groups. There are 6 beautiful bedrooms plus sofa beds and all the possible amenities! Lots of wood for stoves, fireplaces & firepit, bathroom amenities, bottled water in each room, well stocked kitchen with spices and everything you could possibly need for cooking in your home away from home. There are also several beautiful outdoor spaces to enjoy, large sun deck with table that can seat 18, beautiful views of water . A large covered patio with lots of cushy seating and large hot tub. Down by lake is a delightful gazebo with a firepit. They spoiled us with so many different surprises for our special occasion. The owners, Holly & David went above & beyond our expectations. Holly hosted our Paint & Sip Event which was a ton of fun, she also organized massage therapists that came to the home and provided massages for 11 of our guests! This property and their owners are true gems! Thank you Holly & David"

              - "We took our kids for a weekend getaway to Harpers Ferry. The area is very peaceful and tranquil and centrally located with an easy 20-minute drive to wineries, hiking, nearby restaurants, etc. Communication was easy and we appreciated an early check in and wood for making a fire at night by the water! The house was very clean and modern. We had one minor issue that the master bedroom, where the linens had been removed and were left upstairs with the bed unmade. Thankfully the property had extra linens available on site for our use (we were not using the study/office for sleeping). The kitchen is quite small but adequate for making dinner and such. While it's very nice and peaceful to have a waterfront location, the location understandably comes with a fair share of bugs. The house was stocked with bug spray, but I would definitely recommend bringing bug spray if planning to spend time outside. "

Unwind in the living room with vaulted ceilings, recliners and games. Downstairs bedroom and bathroom, upstairs includes one bedroom and a loft.

              The Cabin
This Shannondale original log cabin kit open-concept home includes two bedrooms with a double and king bed plus a connected loft space with a queen bed. There are no doors on the upper bedrooms, but a privacy curtain between the loft and master bedroom.

The bathroom has a shower, toilet and bidet. The kitchen is fully stocked and wifi is very fast (300 mbps).

Wall units provide heat and A/C to the downstairs and bedrooms. The whole house also has a great radiant heating system and wood stove for the winter.

              Guest access
Guests have access to the entire home, driveway and backyard. There are locked basement, owner's closets, and locked linens cabinet that are not for guest access.

              Other things to note
Do note, our cabin is on a mountain, which means you may see deer, woodpeckers, butterflies, lots of birds, and the occasional bear - be careful about leaving food outside! That said, bugs are everywhere and a part of the natural environment. We have regular pest treatments and try to keep exterior doors and windows closed to prevent nature from coming inside. As a heavily wooded area, allergens are also everywhere and vary seasonally.

In the winter, we strongly recommend 4WD or AWD to navigate the last portion of the paved road uphill and flat gravel road to the home.

We encourage you to explore and enjoy nature - just mind the steepness of the rocky terrain. Hikers do get lost on the Appalachian Trail, so we do encourage you to prepare and practice safe hiking.

NO MUSIC OUTDOORS: This is a quiet, family-friendly lake community, not a place to party. Residents and guests alike come here to relax amid the peace and quiet of the lake. Because of this, and because sound carries so easily across the lake, we do not allow guests to play any music outdoors. Other reasonable noise, from children playing outside, for example, is no problem.

NO PETS: No exceptions, sorry. Please don't ask whether we can allow your perfectly house-trained, hypoallergenic labradoodle to join because we can't :-)

SNOW-INS: During the winter, there is a good chance that a significant snow storm could restrict access in and out of the cabin. The roads are plowed, but not always promptly. 4 wheel drive is highly recommended in the event of a snow storm, and you need to use good judgement as to whether to cancel a trip before it begins or leave the cabin early.

NO SMOKING: Smoking and vaping are never allowed inside the house. You may smoke or vape outside as long as you clean up after yourself. You may not litter cigarette butts on the deck, in the yard, or anywhere else--butts must go in the trash after they have cooled off. If smoking inside the screened porch, please turn on the fan so that the smoke does not linger and leave a smell.

NUMBER OF GUESTS: It is important to have the correct number of guests on the reservation, so please update accordingly if the number changes after you first book. There are only enough plates, glasses, etc. for a maximum of 6 people, and the septic plumbing cannot handle more than 6 people at once. Only registered guests are allowed to use the home, day or night.

SHEETS: At the end of your stay, please strip the sheets off the beds that were used and leave the sheets on top of the beds.

PARKING: There is room for up to 4 cars in the driveway, but if parking more than 2 cars, you might have to box in other cars by parking behind them.

BRING OR RENT YOUR OWN BOATS: We do not offer kayaks or other boats to guests. The Mountain Lake Club on the lake does rent boats from Memorial Day to Labor Day, including at least one pontoon boat. No gas-powered boats are allowed on the lake--only small electric motors are allowed.

BUGS AND MICE: We have regular pest control to minimize the presence of bugs and mice. However, this is a lake house in the woods, and that means no matter what you do there will still be bugs, especially in the summertime. Even if you are very careful, some of those bugs will find their way into the house. You must carefully clean up the kitchen every night and securely package up all food so you do not attract bugs or mice.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY FOR USE OF THE LAKE: By using the lake you agree to follow all house rules associated with it and you release the owner of the property from all liability relating to injuries that may occur while using the lake, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence.
