- "Great location, recommend hitting the small shop near the beach for ice cream" - "This was our first time staying in Indian Rocks Beach and it has now become one of our favorite beaches to visit. The apartment/condo was well furnished, clean, and had all the amenities you would need in a place to stay for a long weekend. They even included dish soap, extra trash bags and laundry detergent along with some cooking essentials like salt/pepper and a few other spices. Beach towels and chairs were provided, and they even had a few yard toys for visiting children. The walk to the beach was 2.5 blocks and several local restaurants were walkable as well. We enjoyed ice cream from the Kooky Coconut most nights we were there (1.5 blocks away). We had a little trouble with the door code when we arrived and had to call for assistance. The manager was very responsive and was able to reset the code while we were on the phone. She also walked us through how the keypad worked. My ding on the communication is only because the instructions for getting into the place were a little outdated and mentioned a lockbox with a key inside for which there was none. There were dedicated spaces for parking right in front of the building and even a few spaces in back. This is a great little place in a great location. I fear that in giving them 5 stars people will find out about it and it will no longer be available when we want to come visit. We loved this place and hope to be back soon! Myrtle is German-born and moved to Indian Rocks Beach in 2000 when she married her late husband, Ned. Ned’s grandmother bought the Indian Rocks Beach property in 1946. Ned's father George Hall built the first, two-story building in 1952. The one-story Gulf Cottage followed in 1972. Ned's family lived here in the winter, and spent the summer in Ithaca, NY, where his father was the Golf Coach at Cornell University for over 40 years. Ned followed in his footsteps as a PGA Teaching Professional for over 25 years. He was teaching at the Clearwater Golf Club located in Clearwater, Florida when Myrtle, in Florida on holiday from Germany, met him in 1998. Myrtle and Ned, of course, had their wedding right in front of beautiful Sandy Shores!

Like Ned, Myrtle fell in love with this beautiful property and its rich family history. Ned and Myrtle started to rent out their cottages in 2005 after a complete beautification and enjoyed every minute of sharing this lovely property with their guests. Myrtle carries on the Hall family tradition of hospitality at Sandy Shores and adds her special brand of German warmth. Her attention to detail and cleanliness makes Sandy Shores a unique and charming retreat.

The property is the downstairs of our home with separate back entrance, separate central ac and mini split ac. Lovely location on the intracoastal waterway with dock, salt water pool, hot tub, kayak and bike use. You can enjoy watching dolphins, manatees and many sea birds from the pool and dock area. Our beaches have white sugar sand and lovely blue water. and are a short 2 block walk away. There are many great restaurants and bars within walking distance.We do live upstairs so you may occasionally hear us but we do not use the pool,or other outdoor amenities when we have guests.

It was exactly what we needed for us to relax and unwind. The pool was amazing, along with the hot tub (we kept it cool for August), our boys loved fishing off the dock and using the kayaks. The home is walking distance to Guppy's On the Beach, Cafe De Paris Bakery, Sandy's, Hurricane Eddy's, Salt Public House, Gulf Waves Grill, Keegan's Seafood Grille, Chicago Jaqx, Beach shop and salon. There is also Kolb Park with a playground, sports field, tennis court and skate park. The Indian Rocks Library is also within walking distance.

There's a beautiful pool (heated in the winter), outdoor shower and a nice picnic area on site. The property is centrally located within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Or, you can just hop on the Beach Trolley and explore the 30 mile coastline from St. Pete Beach to Clearwater Beach.

No pets allowed. Minimum rental age is 25 years old. Adults under 25 years of age must be accompanied by a parent. This House Rule overrides all information you may see on the ad of the property. Breaking this rule will lead to cancellation and/or eviction. Smoking is not allowed inside of the rental at all! Check in time is 4:00pm EST and after. Check out is by 10:00AM EST. A fee will be incurred for early arrivals and/or late check outs. No events or parties of any kind are permitted.
