Myrtle is German-born and moved to Indian Rocks Beach in 2000 when she married her late husband, Ned. Ned’s grandmother bought the Indian Rocks Beach property in 1946. Ned's father George Hall built the first, two-story building in 1952. The one-story Gulf Cottage followed in 1972. Ned's family lived here in the winter, and spent the summer in Ithaca, NY, where his father was the Golf Coach at Cornell University for over 40 years. Ned followed in his footsteps as a PGA Teaching Professional for over 25 years. He was teaching at the Clearwater Golf Club located in Clearwater, Florida when Myrtle, in Florida on holiday from Germany, met him in 1998. Myrtle and Ned, of course, had their wedding right in front of beautiful Sandy Shores!

Like Ned, Myrtle fell in love with this beautiful property and its rich family history. Ned and Myrtle started to rent out their cottages in 2005 after a complete beautification and enjoyed every minute of sharing this lovely property with their guests. - "This is our second time staying here. It’s the sweetest little house, well-kept and clean! The neighborhood is quiet and the beach is just a short walk away. The kitchen has everything you need. The king bed is comfortable and they recently replaced the washer and dryer. This rental is snug, so it works perfect for two people. The second bedroom sleeps 3-4 (w/ bunk bed) but one bathroom may make it challenging. (PS the shower has excellent water pressure!) There is a large outside space with a covered area for lounging and eating. We have not taken advantage of it b/c we’re typically there in August (way too hot!), but I can see it being a great gathering space in cooler months. Angie is wonderful to work with. Always prompt in her responses and attentive to our needs and questions. Sandy Feet Rentals will have our business for years to come!"

Mango is conveniently located just two blocks away from the beach! From our driveway, you can spot the beach access entrance nearby, making it an ideal spot. Additionally, Mango is only a five-minute stroll to Cafe de Paris, Beach Wave Grill, and Coco Crush, while Casa Italia is just a 10-minute walk away! 🍊

Please keep in mind that we are located in a residential neighborhood and to be kind and courteous during your stay. Locals enjoy their peace and quiet, and we want this to remain a piece of paradise for everyone to share and love. ✌🏽

No Lifeguard on Duty: This property does not provide a lifeguard. Guests are responsible for their safety and the safety of all party members, including children and non-swimmers. Children must always be supervised by an adult when in or near the pool.

Homeowner Liability Release: The homeowner, property owner, Airbnb host, and any affiliated parties shall not be liable for any injuries, deaths, accidents, property damage, or other incidents that occur in or around the swimming pool, regardless of cause, including but not limited to negligence, natural conditions, or acts of third parties.

- No need to worry about packing or renting beach supplies! We supply our guests with towels, four chairs, a cooler, a beach wagon, an umbrella, and sunblock. There's also a large bag of beach toys for the little ones. ⛱️

- ‼️TRAVEL INSURANCE: For guests traveling between June 1 & November 30, we HIGHLY recommend you purchase travel insurance through Airbnb to protect against flight cancellations or delays. 🌀

- ❄️ AC INFO: When using the air conditioning between May and August, kindly avoid setting it below 75°F from noon to 8 PM, and remember to adjust it to 78°F when leaving the property. This practice allows the AC to defrost and operate more effectively in the evening.

- Unfortunately, our beautiful mango tree did not survive Hurricane Helene. If you have stayed with us before, I'm grateful that you were able to enjoy our sweet, juicy mangoes. We hope to replant a mango tree sometime in the near future. 🥭

- We offer a pack-n-pack and highchair at our property. If any other baby equipment is needed, please let us know! We’ll gladly assist. 🚼

- We provide all guests with a "startup" of essential paper goods and supplies: three rolls of toilet paper, one or two rolls of paper towels (depending on the length of their stay), a small stack of napkins, and one or two backup garbage bags.

- This is a beach rental in Florida where small lizards may sometimes wander into the cottage. Don't worry, they're harmless! 🦎

- "Everything you need. Comfortable bed." - "We stayed here for spring break and the location is perfect. Two blocks to a beautiful beach and luckily no red tide. The neighborhood is quiet with many eateries and shops to walk to. They provide bikes and we took a lovely long ride one day. The duplex is nice, clean and well organized with everything you might need for going to the beach and spending a week there. The only recommendation I have is to add another sitting option to the living room. There is only a smallish couch for lounging. Also the pull out couch isn’t comfortable so probably would only want to plan to use it for a night or two. Overall highly recommend!"

Gulf view! Tucked behind the dunes in Indian Rocks Beach, this historic beachside cottage maintains its classical charm, but with all the contemporary amenities. Built in 1921, this fully-renovated, 2-storey, 1-bedroom home is accessed via a discreet path that leads to the beach. The lower floor consists of an intimate bedroom, updated bathroom, and private patio. A spiral staircase leads to an open living area with a modern kitchen, half-bath, and a private deck overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.

The space
More than 100 years old, the "Floridita" is one of Indian Rocks Beach's earliest cottages. Lovingly tended to and newly renovated, it is now available for the first time in more than a decade.

Upon entering downstairs from a subtropical brick path, there is a queen bed, bedside tables, dresser, armoire, armchair, and desk. The bedroom enjoys its own full bathroom, newly restored with eco friendly bathroom fixtures. Sliding glass doors give on to a private patio, its pergola covered in flowering vines.

Spiral stairs lead up to an open living area with a crisp new euro kitchen and additional half-bathroom. The kitchen is fully loaded with cooking tools, as well as dining table and chairs. A loveseat sofa bed with twin mattress for a third guest sits opposite. This upstairs too has its own exterior door leading to a private deck overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, with extra seating to enjoy company and delight in the sunset.

Guest access
Guests will have private use of the entire 2-story cottage, including a secluded patio and its own gulf-view deck.

Other things to note
The cottage comes fully stocked with new linens and towels, cooking essentials, some bathing products, and beach chairs.

Brand new air conditioning, high-speed wifi, and cable television are included, and the on-premises laundry room with washer and dryer is free of charge.

If you think you may need more space, please consider also reserving our cottage apartment next door, which also has 1 queen bed and 1 twin sofa bed.

- "Provided with our own parking space, we followed a "red brick road" through a beautiful maze to our downstairs bedroom and bath. We climbed the circular staircase inside to a lovely little open plan living area and half bath. Opening the door, we were pleased to find a deck with a view and table and chairs with a live plant on the table. The Bonds were very nice. We left items there, by mistake. Jenni helped us facilitate their return. We will come back again and highly recommend this property to a couple with no mobility issues. B. and D."
