Mahinani's Farm offers a unique experience for visitors to stay in a peaceful location tucked directly between the mountains and the ocean.
Our Tiny Studio Cabin is surrounded by soft rolling hills, giant royal palms, pines, coconut trees and flowers. Perfect for OUT-DOORSY, NATURE LOVERS type only... because, although we have quarterly pest control treatment, you may see insects. Part of life in a tropical climate. We appreciate guests wanting to spend quality time on beautiful grounds away from paved parking lots, elevators & the public.
Our farm sits up on a bluff, close enough to the ocean to hear it and walk to it. Yet, in case of a tsunami warning there is no need to evacuate as we are not in the evacuation zone. The walk to the beach is very enjoyable. Its down a shady little road that takes about 15 to 20 minutes depending on the pace.
Located in the East for the perfect base to explore both sides of the island from.

The cabin has NO TV reception.

- "My husband and I love staying here. The place is perfect for two, the location is one of our favorite places on the island. The outdoor shower is the greatest and feels wonderful. In the evenings we love sitting on the porch and watching the geckos. Diana is kind and helpful. Paradise for two." - "Loved this cabin on a farm at the foot of King Kong Mountain,1 mile from an uncrowded beach. We only saw locals at this beach. Location on the east side was superb for accessing the entire island if you have a car. Lush garden around property with coconut trees which we were allowed to eat from. Grounds are well kept. Loved sitting on the porch. Bed slept great and cabin was well equipped. Bedroom has window unit air conditioner which kept bedroom cool at night and in mornings. However, it couldn’t handle mid-day temperatures. A larger unit may be needed. But we we’re out and about during most days. I would definitely recommend this cute, comfortable cabin!"

- "Anahola Bay is super easy to access, by car, from Lana's spot. It's beautiful and there are some reefs and rocks that support fish, eels, crabs and at least one turtle :) that we can tell you about. Our toddler loved the swing set and listened to us when we said "don't jump in the pool" (we knew there was no cover) so we also had a fine time when we weren't at Anahola beach. Since there's no dishwasher or ventilation for the cook top, I wasn't tempted to do a lot of cooking, but there were a lot of other cooking appliances and the kitchen was really nice for preparing breakfast, frozen drinks, and snacks. Lana and the other people we encountered on her property were friendly and responsive. We were comfortable at this spot and would happily return. Mahalo, Lana and family!"

- "This place was great and I would stay again in a heartbeat! It is literally right on the ocean. The east side is centrally located to get to all parts of the island. One word of caution, if you do plan on going south a lot, the traffic can be quite bad. The view and the space was worth it though. The pool was very nice. The unit had everything you would need. Close to shopping and dining. Very clean. I felt right at home. Hope to able to visit again one day!"

Gorgeous Honeymoon Cottage located in Aliomanu... a short walk to the sand. Recently remodeled in March of 2020, the cottage now has a full kitchen and A/C. Thoughtful upgrades include a new larger kitchen area with new appliances, new windows, new flooring, and queen size sleeper sofa.

Tucked away on a quiet, country beach road, this tranquil cottage is perfect for those seeking to truly unwind and explore Kauai's breezy East side. The cottage sits on a large lot it shares with a private beachfront home. Beach access is a few steps away out the front door, to the road, and down the stream-side path. The beach is protected by a coral reef, located about 50 yards out. No big waves come into the swimming area. At low tide you can examine the tide pools or walk out to the reef in shallow water, though there are deeper places to swim and snorkel.

We are located in a rural neighborhood, but just 15 minutes (driving time) from Kapaa, Kilauea and 20 minutes to Princeville amenities or a healthy walk (about 20 minutes) to Anahola post office and general store.

- "The host team provided snacks upon our arrival and left the lights and AC/fans on so that we would be comfortable upon arrival as well. There were 2 full tanks of propane gas for grilling as well as some filtered water for us in the fridge. The rental had endless supplies of tupperware, pots/pans, dishes, silverware, plastic bags, as well as many beach towels, snorkel fins/masks as beach toys for the kids. The bathrooms also were stocked with shampoo/conditioner and body wash. The laundry room had detergent and dryer sheets. Beyond all of the amenities, communication was excellent with emails sent ahead of arrival as well as text messages. Ultimately, what we valued most was hearing the crashing waves all times of the day as we opened the patio windows. Would definitely stay again."

- "We we're very comfortable here for 7 nights. The cottage was just as described. Make sure to close up at night and leave the fans or A/C running. The island roosters are very early risers. Very quiet with all of the windows closed. It could use a few more accessories in the kitchen to make cooking a meal or two a bit easier, a small BBQ would be great also. But, the many varieties of local restaurants made up for this! The Host was very helpful and quick to respond if needed. This is local living if you want to get out in the country. It's only a few minutes to shopping and beaches"

VEHICLE CHECK IN AND RETURN TIMES

Our check-in time ranges from 3pm- sunset.
We will even check all arrived guests together when possible.
We ask for your patience, understanding and Aloha Spirit in the case of an unforeseen circumstance that might put us behind schedule.

Return time is 11 AM or before.
We do our best to be accommodating to everyone's schedule.

If you would like an early checkin, late returns or airport ride, please let us know when you book. Note corresponding fees will be applied. An Uber is $35-$40 from our office to the airport.

Your automobile insurance will be the primary we use, as long as you are covered for damage & liability on rental vehicles in US.

If you do not have automobile insurance, you can avail from our third party provider. If you are under 25, please inquire about getting insured before booking.

Refundable security deposit as a hold on your card before departure.
Higher security deposit would be required for some insurance provider.

This beautifully renovated country cottage will provide the ultimate authentic Kauai experience. Enjoy a native Hawaiian farm homestead. You are welcome to pick and eat anything ripe on the farm from avacado and mango to passion fruit and coconut.
