- "This lovely hotel is nicely situated right on beach, with large waterfront pool and hot tub, as well as a lovely ocean/pooside resraurant open from breakfast til 9pm. The free self parking is right beside hotel and never had trouble finding a spot. All staff we met were friendly and helpful. Of note, the luau held on property is held in open view of hotel and beach guests when not raining so guests get free show if interested. There is a watersport rental near beach that offers surfing lessons and the waves break close to the nice sandy beach. Beds very comfy and resort clean. Would highly recommend. "

This spacious house was designed and built in 2013 to be the perfect vacation retreat - its plantation style allows it to blend in with the historic neighborhood, while offering every modern luxury. Outside is a barbeque grilling area, a garden shower accessible from either the master bath or from outside, and under the Plumeria Tree is a landscaped 5 person hot springs style hot tub. Enjoy the 2 master, air conditioned, suites with plush king beds, flat screen TVs, pedestal tub, and outdoor garden shower, and full size front load washer and dryer. The open plan great room opens up to the large lanai with 22 feet of 8' high folding doors, and the 9 1/2 foot high walls, vaulted ceilings, large double hung windows, and ceiling fans keep the place breezy and cool. Both bedrooms are air conditioned to keep you comfortable all night long. The kitchen is equipped with a full sized french door refrigerator, whisper quiet dishwasher, gas range, walk-in pantry, granite counters, open shelving, and fully stocked. The sound system through out the living area as well as the lanai is set up for surround sound TV watching, listening to Pandora, or you can wirelessly listen to your own music collection from your smartphone. For some reason, the photos make it appear more expansive. It was still amazing and perhaps even more so because of the coziness. That being said, we hosted the rest of the family one night for our turn at dinner, and accommodated an additional six for those few hours incredibly comfortably. The location itself was perfection for us and we will be back. Those just a little familiar with ocean swimming or less should avoid Brennecke’s beach. The current is very strong and there are a lot of rocks. Great for watching sea turtles swim in the surf, for hours. Poipu Beach which is pretty much adjacent, he’s better protected swimming waters and lifeguards. I’m a big guy, so added a heavy weight chair to the well stocked collection of beach assets. (For those wanting a peaceful, idyllic beach experience, drive the hour to Anini Beach!) The bed was very comfortable. The ease of access to the outdoor shower was incredible. Don’t be surprised if a gecko joins you. We pulled all the outdoor shades and kept the exterior and interior fans running with the easy to use retractable glass doors when we were home and found only the late afternoon to be on the warm side. The AC unit in the bedroom gets the room cool and keeps it that way overnight quite nicely. For any Saturday, it’s really best to just plan on being away from the house much of the day. The landscaper comes in the morning and spends a lot of time at each of the properties he’s servicing. It is incredibly manicured and well kept because of his time, but probably best to avoid the accompanying noise. Communication was superb and we will be back in a couple years."
