Our home is adjacent to the vacation home stay apartment with a private entrance and a designated parking area. The vacation home stay apartment is on the second level with beautiful views of the mountains featuring breathtaking waterfalls. The upstairs unit is private yet accessible to owners, when they are home.

Our vacation home comes with kitchenette: microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker and a washer and dryer. The floor plan is very spacious with over 900 square feet of living space. A large lanai area to relax while viewing the mountains. Our home is only steps away from the popular Hanalei Bay or what the locals refer to as 'Pine Trees'. Winter swells brings in nice surf and summer sun attracts family vacations.

We do have a couple beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and a cooler for your use. Nearby shops and restaurants are conveniently located while popular hiking and snorkeling areas are just a few minutes down the road. Also a great area to go jogging or biking!

- "My wife, 10 year old son, and I had a wonderful week-long stay at the Guest House. The stream it sits on is great and we enjoyed paddle boarding down the stream to Wainiha beach. One thing I very much appreciated is that unlike many rentals, the house includes some basic food items, such as salt and pepper, coffee, rice, condiments in the fridge, etc. We made several meals, including grilling, and had all the utensils or appliances we needed. There were also several beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, and a couple boogie boards. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and reading. We tried to unplug as much as we could, and there was no cell service (a lot of hand made signs in the area in opposition to putting in a cell tower), but solid wifi that was easily good enough to stream movies at night. It isn't really within walking distance of any swimmable beaches, but is a short drive (less than 10-5 minutes) to several swimmable beaches and Hanalei. If you have a small group and want somewhere that isn't a resort and is fairly quiet, I highly recommend it."

Hale Huna ('Hidden House') is a wonderful cottage on a hillside near the end of the road on the North Shore of Kauai. Located on hill and a quiet cul-de-sac with only a few other local houses. Very private and peaceful (It is NOT on/near the highway like many Kauai rentals). Perfect for a family getaway or honeymoon cottage.

Our cottage had no flooding or leaks during the 2018 flood on the North Shore. It is above the regular tsunami inundation zone, but just within the extreme tsunami inundation zone if there's a 9.0 or greater magnitude earthquake in the Aleutian Islands. The safe zone can be reached by walking uphill to the other side of the street or by driving to Princeville.

Beautiful views of green mountains from backyard. Lush plant life, including mango, grapefruit, banana and lemon trees. Outdoor shower sheltered by tropical foliage. This is a small but charming and tastefully furnished plantation-style cottage with the feel of real Hawaii. Within five minutes drive of gorgeous sandy beaches: incredible snorkeling at Tunnels and Ke'e Beaches, world class surf at Hanalei Bay and picturesque Lumahai.

The closest town is charming Hanalei, which has restaurants, a grocery store, a health food store, shops, bars and more. Hanalei Bay is famous for its large crescent beach, winter surfing and calm summer waters. The stunning NaPali Coast is just minutes away (the mountains seen from the backyard are the back of the Pali's/Mountains).

The North Shore of Kauai is known for its lush tropical, rainforest-like climate and vegetation and low key lifestyle. It's a fantastic place to relax, read, swim, hike, surf, snorkel, eat fresh fish and my favorite, just walking on the beach looking for shells.

Upgraded in 2019, Hale Ka Mahina isn't your average vacation rental, Hale Ka Mahina is tucked away on a side street between Hanalei Bay and Hanalei town. Easily walk or ride bikes to the beach and town when you want to check the surf or grab a coffee at the Hanalei Bread Co. You won't need to drive unless you are off to explore the island's many beaches.

Located one block away from Pine Trees surf spot you will be sure to enjoy plenty of surf in the winter and perfect swimming conditions in the summer. The house has two king bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms. The large kitchen is open to a great room with extra high ceilings and plenty of room to hang out and watch a movie. There is a new queen size, memory foam, sleeper sofa in the living room for extra guests. The adjacent enclosed lanai area has stunning mountain, waterfall and sunset views. There is parking for two cars under the house and plenty of beach gear and bikes to use. The Old Style is a stand alone beach house just steps from the sand as seen above (Standard occupancy is 2*). There is lots of light, great views & a very restful feeling. Single wall redwood was the preferred building style back in the day. It is beautifully painted to accentuate the style of the time.

The floor plan is open to enjoy the living dining & kitchen areas while taking in the views. There is a full kitchen for cooking up island fish & fare and other tropical treats. The bedroom is cool and comfortable with a king bed. In the living room are two pune'e or day beds that could accommodate children in addition. It is called the Old Style since it was once the old vicarage house of the Wai'oli Mission.

The lanai is a fabulous place to relax at the end of a hard day lounging around on the beach or discovering more of Kauai. You are about 4 blocks to Hanalei town with its cool shops and restaurants. Nice walk home after dinner.

There is a washer & dryer set in a newly renovated laundry hut just steps away for your laundry needs and a hot & cold outside shower for after the beach. Folks love this house & we have many returning guests.

*Listed rate is for the Standard Occupancy of 2, but home can accommodate up to 4. Extra guest fee beyond two is $20+tax /per night / per person. Only 2 extra guests are allowed and this fee is collected after booking.
