All top of the line appliances. Have a few complaints, floors were dirty and our feet turned black, mosquito infestation outside lanai, flying inside (place was exterminated Friday, a day before we left). Mosquitoes were all over screen doors & dead ones rolled up on curtains, one knob on in the sink is weird, goes the other way. Big disappointment was no rice cooker, how can you not have a rice cooker? I think it’s a must if you come to any of the Hawaiian islands. This was our first. "

We windsurf on the North Shore and this is a short commute. You can't beat walking the 6 mile stretch of secluded beach. We will return!" - "Was everything I expected in a condo. Our condo is located at Kauhale Makai “Village by the Sea”, a community nestled up against a charming beach; perfect for catching the most amazing sunsets. The property amenities include a large saltwater pool, a small "kiddie" pool, a hot tub, a volleyball court, shuffleboard decks, putting green, several BBQ grills with picnic tables and tiki torches. Surrounded by beautifully manicured grounds swaying with palm, plumeria and banana trees. This slice of paradise offers a local and relaxed setting, maintaining a vibrant community. The Neighborhood:
Kihei is located at the base of Haleakala, a sprawling and majestic 10,000 foot high volcano. Stunning views of the mountain are everywhere. Lined with miles of beaches, local food & shopping, and close proximity to many activities. Fun fact about Hawaii- all beaches are public! There is no such thing as a private beach anywhere in the state. Together with neighboring Wailea and Makena, the area enjoys numerous shops, restaurants and “happy hour” opportunities. Kauhale Makai is a short distance from many grocery stores, including a Safeway, Times and Foodland. If you prefer Costco or Target swing by on your way from the airport!

Getting Around:
We recommend renting a car for your stay! It is the easiest way to get around the island.

Other Things to Note:
Our baby essentials are provided through Nokaoi Baby Rentals. Please visit their website at nakoibabyrentals to arrange your rental. You will pay them directly for the rental and they will deliver the item to your unit.

Please be advised that personal package deliveries such as Amazon etc- are not permitted, unless under medical emergency and with advance approval.

The state of Hawai'i collects a Transient Accommodation Tax of 10.25% and a sales tax of 4.166%. Maui County has a Transient Accommodation Tax of 3.5%. We as hosts are required to collect this tax!

Laundry facilities are located throughout the complex and are shared. Payable via app or coins. We provide Tide pods.

Our beach essentials do not include snorkeling gear as a covid precaution.

Pickleball players will enjoy Waipuilani Park, just minutes down the road.

The resort is designated within a hotel-zoned district and, as such, will not be impacted by the pending Short-Term Rental (STR) ban currently under consideration.
