Mosquitoes were all over screen doors & dead ones rolled up on curtains, one knob on in the sink is weird, goes the other way. We windsurf on the North Shore and this is a short commute. You can't beat walking the 6 mile stretch of secluded beach. We will return!" - "Was everything I expected in a condo. The Neighborhood:
Kihei is located at the base of Haleakala, a sprawling and majestic 10,000 foot high volcano. Stunning views of the mountain are everywhere. Lined with miles of beaches, local food & shopping, and close proximity to many activities. Fun fact about Hawaii- all beaches are public! There is no such thing as a private beach anywhere in the state. Together with neighboring Wailea and Makena, the area enjoys numerous shops, restaurants and “happy hour” opportunities. Kauhale Makai is a short distance from many grocery stores, including a Safeway, Times and Foodland. If you prefer Costco or Target swing by on your way from the airport!

Getting Around:
We recommend renting a car for your stay! It is the easiest way to get around the island.

Our baby essentials are provided through Nokaoi Baby Rentals. Please visit their website at nakoibabyrentals to arrange your rental. You will pay them directly for the rental and they will deliver the item to your unit.

The state of Hawai'i collects a Transient Accommodation Tax of 10.25% and a sales tax of 4.166%. Maui County has a Transient Accommodation Tax of 3.5%. We as hosts are required to collect this tax!

Directly in front of the beachfront Menehune Shores condominium complex, there is an ancient Hawaiian fish pond, which the Honu seem to love! It also creates a natural wave break so the waters are shallow and calmer than the surrounding beaches - perfect for small children (and turtles).

The living room is furnished with comfortable seating and features a large ONN TV. The space is bright and airy, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light.
Sit back and watch Humpback Whales breeching in the winter months, outrigger canoes passing by early in the morning, and the local Honu (sea turtles) that have made this particular area home.

The bedroom boasts a California King bed, ensuring a restful night`s sleep. An efficient split system AC located in the living area and bedroom will keep you cool, especially on those days you may get a little too much sun.. Pool Closure Notice: September 9th through the 16th, 2024 the pool will undergo maintenance. During this period, the pool will be closed to ensure necessary repairs and improvements are made. There may be some noise associated with the pool maintenance.

While we strive to keep all photos up to date, there may be new and updated pieces of furniture or décor that are different than in the original pictures. The functionality, available seating and sleeping space will remain the same or may improve.

1. Cancellation Policy for Direct Booking Long-Term Reservations (30 days or more):

● For reservations of 30 days or longer, a separate cancellation policy applies:
● Guests will receive a full refund if they cancel at least 30 days before the scheduled check-in date.
● A 50% refund will be issued for cancellations made between 14 and 29 days prior to the scheduled check-in date.
● No refund will be provided for cancellations made 13 days or fewer before the scheduled check-in date.

2. If you are a local resident, you must contact us before booking.

3. We will charge a small, non-refundable damage waiver fee to cover any potential accidental property damage during your stay. This fee replaces the traditional security deposit.

4. Guests acknowledge that they will keep their noise level to a minimum after 9:00 pm and before 8 am; sound will travel through the walls if too loud. Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with a residential area.

5. Parking:

➤ Only one full-sized vehicle per unit.
➤ Vehicles must be parked within the lines.
➤ Registration is required within 24 hours of arrival.
➤ Guest vehicles shall be parked in the designated parking area. The STVR shall not be used for commercial purposes.

6. Pool Rules:

➤ No lifeguard on duty; Swim at your own risk.
➤ Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
➤ No running, yelling, or playing games like Marco Polo.

7. Plumbing:

➤ No flushing wipes, diapers, hygiene products, etc.
➤ Any plumbing misuse will result in a charge for repairs.

8. No parties or events allowed.

9. Guest must provide us with a valid ID that matches their credit card information.

10. Guest must provide us with a valid working phone number & guests listed on the reservation must report to us within 2 hours from the time of arrival if anything in regards to cleanliness does not meet their standards so we can help address the situation as soon as possible.

11. We would like to inform you that for direct bookings, a 4% credit card fee will be applied to any cancellations and refunds and we will follow the platform`s cancellation policy.

12. No smoking in units, lanais, or common areas.

13. NO SMOKING or use of fire permitted in the rental; guest acknowledges that no `smoking` includes the use of vape pens and marijuana and `use of fire` includes the lighting of candles, incense, or sage. You will be charged $450 if evidence of smoke and smoke smell is found once you check out.

14. There can not be any more than the allowed number of guests in or on the property at any one time, violation could lead to the immediate removal of all guests without a refund.

15. Late checkout must be secured at the time of booking. Late checkout will be charged 50% of the nightly rate plus taxes.

16. No pets allowed. A $600 pet fee, plus any additional costs for damage will be imposed if evidence of pets are discovered.

17. Do not move the furniture.

18. Do not do your laundry with ours; please always wash and dry your belongings separately from our linens.

19. Wash all sand off before entering the building and or home using the hose outside.

20. Beach Towels: There are beach towels in the unit and or in the home for your use at the beach; Please do not use the bath towels outside the unit. Please REMEMBER to bring the beach towels back to your unit. You will be charged a replacement fee for any beach towels not returned.

21. Please refrain from hanging towels or any other items from the balcony railings on your lanai.

22.Trash Disposal and Recycling:

➤ Bag all waste and use trash chutes.
➤ Recycling available for certain items (cans, glass, plastics).

23. KITCHEN: Keeping the kitchen clean and food/crumbs cleaned from the counters is important. Please store food in the fridge or airtight container and REMOVE TRASH daily.

24. Excessively dirty units will incur an additional cleaning fee and will be evidenced with photos.

25. Do not sit on furniture in wet swimsuits or with suntan oil or lotion on. We ask you please do not spray sunscreen inside the unit or lanai.

26. Please do not interchange items belonging in other units.

27. Please leave this unit and or home as you found. If there is any damage or any items are missing you will be charged

We recognize the importance of a good night's sleep. We use the same mattresses as the Four Season Resort for extra comfort and rest. The "Pillow Bar" has three types of pillows for guests to choose from that cover possible allergies and softness preferences.

Communication is one of our strong points. Our team is happy to offer suggestions on all things Maui. Vistas Vacations guests receive complimentary concierge tips on places to see and experience on the island and our team is on hand to offer any information during their stay. - "For anyone looking for a great night of sleep, stay here. The bed was COMFORTABLE! Not hard, not mushy, perfect. And I could not take better pictures than the ones online. It looks exactly how the pictures look. Short walk across the street for beach (with sea turtles). Great food choices within a few miles. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!! Beach chairs, cooler, beach umbrella in deck box. Cooler, laundry items, cleaning items, ironing board in closet. Lotion, sunscreen (50), lotion in bathroom (extra TP too). Keurig coffee maker (pods for pot or cup). Husband fixed the screen door (it was off track). Open both doors to get a good breeze in the afternoon if you don’t t want to run the AC. Left notes in book on good food choices. Oh…and 2 ceiling fans!!! (Remotes for fans, tv, AC). Great place to stay. Definitely enjoyed a dip in the pool and hot tub after a day exploring the island. IF you do Hana Hwy go early (like leave here at 6am)! And if you plan to do the backside the road is closed just after Linbergs grave on Hana side, and just before Papaloa on the other side. Eat at Bruddah Hutts BBQ! This place was a joy to get back to each night. Easy location, comfy bed, and clean. You can’t ask for more. (Oh and the tenants/ other condo are all pleasantly quiet). Best communication from VRBO we ever had. Thank you Sean, you have a great spot!"

We are less than 20 minutes from the Kahului Airport and near lots of shopping, restaurants and activities! You can also feel free to volunteer with Maui Rapid Response or Maui Humane Society while you are here.

We will have a new owner in the Summer of 2025, and they will be doing a renovation of all 6 units in Fall, 2025. We are offering a Summer Special for folks that understand our units are clean but may be dated.

The Space:

When you book with us, we provide you with our private concierge. They will assist you with luaus, dinner cruises, helicopter trips, whale watching, dinner reservations and anything else you may need to plan a wonderful vacation in Maui!

This is a 1 bedroom/1.5 bath condo with a Queen sofa sleeper. There is a common outdoor pool and BBQ area for our guests to use at this resort. Cleaning fee is $210 per stay (this is what our housekeeper charges), parking is free. We have a $25 resort fee per booking to cover the Maui Wildfire Devastating Insurance cost.

Parents are required to be with children under 14 at the pool at all times. You will be able to enjoy the entire private condo with a courtyard to the pool, BBQ area, outdoor seating, and a few steps to the beach across the street.

Kihei is located at the base of Haleakala, a sprawling and majestic 10,000-foot-high volcano. Stunning views of the mountain are everywhere. Lined with miles of beaches, local food & shopping, and proximity to many activities. Fun fact about Hawaii- all beaches are public! There is no such thing as a private beach anywhere in the state. Together with neighboring Wailea, the area enjoys numerous shops, restaurants, and “happy hour” opportunities. Kauhale Makai is a short distance from many grocery stores, including Safeway, Times and Foodland. If you prefer Costco or Target swing by on your way from the airport.

Getting Around:
We always recommend renting a car when visiting Maui to explore all that the island has to offer.

Our baby essentials are provided through Nokaoi Baby Rentals. Please visit their website at nakoibabyrentals to arrange your rental. You will pay them directly for the rental and they will deliver the item to your unit.

The state of Hawai'i collects a Transient Accommodation Tax of 10.25% and sales tax of 4.166%. Maui county has a Transient Accommodation Tax of 3.5%. We as hosts are required to collect this tax!

There were not alot of available options due to our last-minute booking, but this place met all of my requirements: beach-front, pool, ocean-view balcony, in kihei. - "I understand that "things happen" - computer errors, human errors, etc. What matters to me is how any establishment handles the problem. We had a little hiccup at check-in and I was a crabby beast after having traveled 10 hours with three needy teens and a stressed-out hubby. I was less then nice when I made the phone call about the issue (and really it was minor so I'm not mentioning it). Robert put up with my snot-attitude and was kind and accommodating despite it. He made everything right and then some!! Personally, I would've told myself off. He took care of it and made me very very happy. We traveled with two other families who were staying at different establishments and they were all jealous of our condo, location and the grounds of Luana Kai. We would DEFINATELY stay here again. The kitchen in the pool area is amazing and we enjoyed grilling down there and having dinner down there. You can walk right to the beach. The beds and pillows in the condo were soooooo comfortable; I honestly didn't want to go home to my own bed. There are beach chairs, coolers, etc. etc. Everything you need. We loved this condo and the building itself. GREAT location - close to the excitement but far enough away that it was quiet when we wanted to relax."

The state of Hawai'i collects a Transient Accommodation Tax of 10.25% and sales tax of 4.166%. Maui county has a Transient Accommodation Tax of 3.5%. We as hosts are required to collect this tax!

As an introduction to the house rules, please note that in most cases “common sense” applies with respect for your safety and consideration for our future guests as well as our neighbors in the community.
SMOKING: Smoking is allowed in designated area only. Smoking inside the suite or on the Lanai is ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN. A fine of $500.00 will be assessed for smoking inside the suite. Any property damaged by burns will also be replaced at your expense.
MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT: Please be considerate of our neighbors. No loud music at anytime, and no parties, music, swimming pool games, noise, etc. during Quiet time - between 8:00 pm and 8:00 am.
PARKING: A parking fee of $15/day will be included in your reservation balance.
FURNITURE: We ask that you do not sit on the furniture with bare skin and suntan oils. These products can stain the fabric. Please use the beach towels provided.
SWIMMING POOL & SPA: No glass is permitted poolside. Acrylic glasses are provided for your use. Please note that all tiled lanais and the pool areas are slippery when wet or if your feet are wet. Please be careful. No running, no diving, no horseplay. Parents and/or guardians are responsible for their children.
PEST CONTROL: This Property is subject to routine pest control that may correspond to a guest reservation. Best efforts will be made to communicate that service to guests, which can take place 24 hours after notice.
VALID EMAIL ADDRESS REQUIREMENT:
To ensure a smooth and secure stay, we require that the primary guest provide a valid email address within 24 hours of booking confirmation. This email will be used to deliver your rental agreement, arrival instructions, entry codes, and other important stay-related details.
RENTAL AGREEMENT:
After booking and providing your email, you’ll receive a link to our Guest Portal where you’ll need to complete two required steps:
Guest Information Form – Includes the total number of guests, their names and ages, and the purpose of your stay.
Rental Agreement – This must be reviewed and signed through our Guest Portal, as third-party platforms do not display our full rental terms.
These items must be completed within 48 hours of booking or at least 24 hours before arrival, whichever comes first. If you’d like to review the rental agreement before booking, feel free to reach out and we’ll be happy to share it.
AGE REQUIREMENT: You must be a minimum of (18) years old to rent this property.
