Original 2 bedroom log cabin on the Ausable River. This charming log cabin is located on Hulls Falls Road, a quiet back road, that is picturesque perfect. You will find some of the area's best swimming, scenery, and fly fishing in the area.
The cabin has a beautiful river rock fireplace in the spacious living room which makes for a great meeting room for games, conversation, and relaxation. There are 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and one full bathroom with a walk in shower and one half bath, both recently renovated. The living room also has 1 fold out futon.
The kitchen boasts authenticity with a unique antler light fixture, exposed beams, all wrapped in natural wood. Everything you might need for preparing your own meals is stored away in the abundant kitchen cabinets. Two coffee makers, a microwave, mixer, blender, wine glasses, etc it is all there for your use.
The lush outdoors invites you to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds while sitting on the screened porch or the detached deck overlooking the river. Escape to a cozy A-frame cabin in Keene. Nestled in the trees and close to hiking, swimming and canoeing adventures. Easy access from Keene and close to route 73. A 15 minutes drive to Lake Placid in one direction and 15 minutes from Whiteface Mountain in the other. Many of the 46 are at your doorstep!

The interior features high ceilings and a queen bed on one side. Mini-fridge, kettle, toaster and table with chairs on the other. Wifi included.

The outhouse is 20 feet from the cabin and also has an outdoor solar shower (fyi- the water temperature of the shower depends in how much heat the sun gave off that day. The water does not stay hot for very long after dark). You can sit on Adirondack chairs on the deck and enjoy the forest view in front of the firepit.

The cabin is 200ft down from the main house, on the same side of the road. You will just see the rooftop peaking over the wild flowers on approach. Parking is alongside the cabin.

There is road noise but no view of route 73 during the day. Crickets, occasional owls or passing hooting bears are the usual night time sounds out this way. I look forward to hosting you.

It's a great base camp for a family or group of friends.

As of 2018 we began offering our location as a Wedding Venue and are now offering several outdoor spaces for wedding ceremonies and celebrations. We are connected to a team of talented wedding professionals in the area and can help guide you to creating the mountain wedding of your dreams. 2 Bedroom, 1 bath cabin. The first bedroom has one double bed with TV, the second bedroom has a double bed and bunk beds. In the living area there is a futon, couch, and TV. The cabin can comfortably sleep 8 people. There is a stand up shower in the bathroom. Full equipped kitchen, microwave, coffee pot, two refrigerators indoors, one outdoor beverage cooler, a fire pit, and lots of outdoor furniture.The cabin is located on Lincoln Pond in upstate New York with a large dock with chairs and an outdoor swing. Beautiful views all around the Adirondacks. About a 40 minute drive to Lake Placid, New York. About an hour drive to Lake George, New York and about an hour drive to Vermont. For cell service Verizon works the best AT&T and other providers seem to be very little or no signal. The cabin also has WiFi.

There was no wifi this time, but when contacting the owner they said that wifi may be available in the future. But to be honest with the lake right outside, we would not have had the time or desire to be online to begin with. The cell reception was good, and more than enough to stream music from the phone if desired. If swimming from the dock is not your thing, there is also a public beach a few minutes away. Overall as stated before the stay was excellent, and we are already making plans to return next year."

The Space:
Enjoy your morning coffee curled up on the sofa, or an afternoon cooking up some dinner in our kitchen. We have everything you need for the perfect getaway, whether you love hiking, skiing, swimming, relaxing, cooking, adventuring or all of the above.

The Living Room is our favorite spot to enjoy in the house. Lounge on the leather sofas, switch on the Smart TV (where you can easily sign into your Netflix, Hulu, or other streaming account) for movie night or the big game, or enjoy one of our board games with your group. The living room is adjacent to the kitchen and dining room, with a table large enough for your group to dine together.

Sleeping Arrangements
Black Pearl - Unit 2 has two bedrooms and can sleep 4 guests. With 1 King Size Bedroom, and 1 room with Bunk Beds, you will find room for your group to spread out. Our bedrooms feature Casper Mattresses, quality linens, and are thoughtfully decorated. The king bedroom has a spacious closet with shelving, while the bunk bed room has a dresser so you can comfortably unpack for your stay . Each room has its own climate control so that guests can adjust to their individual preference.

The Kitchen
The Kitchen is equipped with all new appliances and finishes as well as cooking utensils, pots and pans, general spices, and basically all the tools you need to make morning pancakes, spaghetti bolognese dinner, and everything in between. (Groceries not provided.) For morning coffee, there is a coffee machine (with coffee provided), but please also feel free to bring along your favorite roast. You will find all the dish ware, serve ware, and drink ware you need for your group to dine, but don’t worry, we have you covered with a dishwasher too.

Bathrooms
There is one bathroom in Black Pearl - Unit 2, a full bathroom with a combination shower/tub. The bathroom is stocked with toiletries, a hair dryer, and super plush towels. Also in-unit is a washer and dryer for your use.

Guest Access:
The entire unit is yours for the length of your stay. Please note that the parking area is right off the road and you need to walk down stairs to access the unit.

The Neighborhood:
Nestled on the South side of Whiteface Mountain, the house is a quick 15 min drive to the Whiteface Mountain ski slopes, 10 min walk/2 min drive to Mirror Lake, and 10 min walk to Lake Placid Village. The location is perfect for winter skiing, sledding, and snowboarding. In the fall, hike below the beautiful foliage, and in the spring/summer be sure to check out Mirror Lake, more hiking, antiquing, and local farms & vineyards.

There are a handful of markets nearby, including a supermarket as well as a couple of wine & liquor stores for your convenience. This house is so well located that you will find great Food & Drink options moments away, including Generations, ‘Dack Shack, Ere’s Pizza Ristorante, Redneck Bistro, Simply Gourmet Bakery, Kanu, Cocoa & Dough Co Great Adirondack Brewing Company, and so much more.

If you are looking for the great outdoors, there’s something for everyone - year round. A quick 15 min drive gets you to the base of Whiteface Mountain, the fifth-highest mountain in the U.S. state of New York, and one of the High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. Set apart from most of the other High Peaks, the summit offers a 360-degree view of the Adirondacks and clear-day glimpses of Vermont and even Canada. Whiteface's ski area boasts 90 trails stretching over 25 miles and encompassing three peaks. In the summer months, enjoy the Adirondack High Peaks from the comfort of an eight-passenger, high-speed gondola cabin, on the Cloudsplitter Gondola Ride. You can also hike a variety of trails of every level to explore the mountain, which is particularly amazing in the fall months as the leaves are turning colors.

During the warmer months, you can zip over to Mirror Lake, just 5 minutes away by car. Enjoy a 2.7 mile stroll (or run!) around Mirror Lake in the center of Lake Placid. This is a flat, scenic loop that's perfect for as many laps as you like. Or canoe, kayak, stand up paddleboard, or aqua bike across this gorgeous 128-acre, one-mile long lake. Lake Placid Public Beach a summer dream come true. Its sandy beach has a pier and a launch site for canoes or kayaks, there's a changing facility, tennis courts, and even a playground for the kiddos.

Our check-out time is at 11:00 AM. Please make sure to do the dishes (it’s ok to place the remaining dishes in the dishwasher and start the cycle), take the trash out and close the door before leaving. Don’t forget to do a final walk thru of the house to make sure you haven’t left behind any personal items.

RECYCLING
Guests can leave the recycling items on a separate bag in the house. Cleaning team will take care of it after guests leave.

FRIENDS OF MOTHER NATURE
Please note that we are located in the countryside, surrounded by trees and foliage. Although we have regularly scheduled pest control services in and around the home and yard, you are still likely to see a few insects or other living beings from Mother Nature. We ask that you do your best to keep outside doors closed as much as possible to limit the amount of outdoor creatures from sneaking in.

PETS
We love pets and allow them in our houses, but please let us know if your are bringing your furry friend(s) along. Please understand that all of our furniture and decor is new and pets are not allowed on the furniture or beds. You will be responsible for any visible wear or damage your pets may cause. The maximum number of pets we allow is two.

REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE
We cannot guarantee against mechanical failure of heating, air conditioning, appliances, TVs/media equipment, stereo equipment or pools/spas. Please report any inoperative equipment to us promptly. We will make every reasonable effort to have repairs done quickly and efficiently. If you demonstrate that the problem persists after being given phone instructions by our team, a maintenance service professional may be dispatched. NO REFUNDS OR RENT REDUCTIONS WILL BE MADE DUE TO MECHANICAL FAILURES OR MALFUNCTIONS, INTERRUPTIONS OF UTILITIES, MAINTENANCE PROBLEMS OR CONSTRUCTION IN THE AREA. WHILE LINA WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO REPAIR ANY MAINTENANCE ISSUE IN A TIMELY MANNER, IT CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE ISSUE WILL BE FIXED DURING A GUEST STAY, AS THE COMPANY MAY HAVE TO GO THROUGH HOME WARRANTIES. Lina will always look for alternative solutions to ensure and prioritize guest comfort.

Interaction with Guests:
The check-in will be contactless and keyless. Before you arrive, we will send you the code to the door lock. If you have any questions or issues during your stay, please message us through the booking channel.

Trillium Cabin is our "honeymoon" style cabin with a king bed, jacuzzi tub, and kitchenette. It's the perfect place for a retreat or romantic getaway. Sentinel Cabin is a 3 bedroom fully renovated log style cabin. It has 3 rooms with king or queen beds, a living room, full kitchen with brand new appliances, dining room, a lounge/game room, 3 bathrooms, 2 additional pull out couches, and a large deck with a grill. It's a great base camp for a family or group of friends.

As of 2018 we began offering our location as a Wedding Venue and are now offering several outdoor spaces for wedding ceremonies and celebrations. We are connected to a team of talented wedding professionals in the area and can help guide you to creating the mountain wedding of your dreams. With epic mountain views, flowering meadows, gardens and a charming farmhouse, it's a gorgeous location for your special day. In addition to weddings, we also host group retreats, reunions, full house/property rentals, workshops, and more. The Space:
Located in the heart of the Adirondacks in Keene New York, the juniper hills cottage is remote and nestled next to a private lodge. A small bungalow style cabin with an open setting and mini kitchen, comes with a king memory foam bed, plush sheets, Pendleton robes, a soak freestanding tub, sheepskin rugs and local charcuterie upon arrival. Step outside to a mini fireplace, sauna or hot tub, and cedar outdoor shower ( summer months) after a long hike or ski, wine selections or pasta dinner available for add on charge. Your back yard space is private, and the cabin itself is near a lodge but remains quiet and not shared as well.

Guest access:
Guests have a private driveway, access and use of 5 acres of land as well as hot tub and sauna ( available for guests only) , we will happily make you a fire or special requests for a slice of luxury in the mountains. This is a shared backyard but private in the sense you are the only one using amenities as we reserve them for our lodge and cabin guests.

Other things to note:
Local treats and drinks available and please note the cabin is adjacent to our lodge building and a local road, it is not a cabin in the woods but a quiet cabin on a mountain setting.

The Loft has one lofted open studio style bedroom on the whole second floor and features a queen-sized bed and a dresser.

Extra Sleeping Areas: The bedroom area has a twin-sized trundle bed tucked underneath the main bed, providing an extra sleeping area. The first floor living area also features a daybed style couch with a twin mattress, offering another comfortable sleeping option when needed. Extra linens are stored in the guest stock area for easy access. In total, The Loft features three beds: one queen, one twin trundle, and one twin daybed style couch.

BATHROOM: The bathroom features locally sourced Adirondack pine finishes, a shower and a custom built double vanity. A separate shower / toilet room within the bathroom ensures ease of use for multiple guests at once.

LIVING AREA & ENTERTAINMENT: The first floor living room has a daybed-style couch with a chair for lounging. A loft net suspended in the ceiling over the living area presents an additional lounging spot. Vaulted ceilings and natural light make the space feel open and airy.

For entertainment, there is a large TV equipped with a Chromecast device, allowing you to stream your preferred video service. High-speed, fiber optic Wi-Fi ensures you can stream videos easily.

Custom-built and designed using local Adirondack wood, the sauna cabin was built with Finnish design principles and features shou sugi ban siding, a traditional Japanese method of charring wood. The sauna cabin has a small covered outdoor porch with seats, allowing you to rest and cool off between sauna cycles.

EXTERIOR SPACE: The small, covered porch has a roof over top protecting from the elements. There is a gas grill on the porch outside completing the cooking experience.

GROUNDS & SURROUNDINGS: The Loft sits a little further back off the main strip behind our other guesthouse and provides privacy while being close to everything. Being right in town, the lot is small, but we have private parking with enough room to comfortably fit two vehicles, (or possibly three smaller ones if needed) and a small, unfenced backyard.

Local dining and shopping options are just a short walk away - You can walk to 46 Restaurant, Cedar Run Market, East Branch Organics, as well as our awesome neighbor Dartbrook South for artfully curated Adirondack goods & products. HOUSE RULES:

1. RESPECTING OUR NEIGHBORS AND THE COMMUNITY: When you stay with us, you become a member of our community, and we ask that you strongly respect those in the surrounding area looking to enjoy the quiet serene natural environment. In order to respect our neighbors and community we do not allow any loud music, loud noise, loud talking, yelling, or otherwise boisterous behavior, etc. We ask that you please be quiet and respectful of neighbors, especially during quiet hours as we may have guests staying in the adjoining unit.

2. QUIET HOURS from 8:00pm-8:00am.

3. NO PARTIES: large gatherings, parties, or events are not permitted on site.

4. NO SMOKING/VAPING in the house or use of illegal substances

5. PETS: Pets must be added to your reservation and a $75 dollar pet fee is charged which is automatically added to your stay. We absolutely love pets but there are property damage risks to us having them at the house. As such, well-behaved, potty-trained pets are allowed (up to 2 only) and any damage will be the responsibility of the guest to pay for. Pets are not allowed on beds, couches, chairs, furniture. Unregistered pets are $50 extra per night.

1. DRIVEWAY/PARKING: The driveway/parking at Xplorer II is slightly narrow, just something to be mindful of if you have a commercial sized vehicle. We can fit two mid to large vehicles.
2. SOUND: Our property is conveniently situated just off the main strip in Keene, which means you might occasionally hear some noise. However, we provide a HEPA Air Purifier with a strong fan in the unit that can be used for white noise if desired. Further, the space is part of a duplex; we've taken measures to minimize sound transmission between the units by installing sound-damping insulation. However, given the nature of duplex living, we respectfully request all our guests help maintain a peaceful environment, particularly during nighttime hours. Mindfulness in this regard will ensure that all guests enjoy a quiet and restful stay.

BEDROOM & EXTRA SLEEPING AREAS: The space comes with one bedroom featuring a king-sized bed, a closet, and a dresser. For extra guests, there is a twin day bed in the living room. By day, it`s a comfortable couch, and by night, it acts as an additional sleeping spot. Extra linens are stored in the linen closet for your convenience. In total, the space features two beds: one king and one twin.

LIVING ROOM / DINING AREA: The space includes a small but functional living and dining room area with a comfortable day bed and a versatile dining table for meals or work. High vaulted ceilings and an abundance of natural light make the space feel open and airy.

For entertainment, the space has a TV equipped with a Chromecast device, allowing you to stream your preferred video service. Super-fast, fiber optic Wi-Fi ensures you can take video calls or stream movies easily.

KITCHEN: Renovated and modernized, the kitchen offers everything you need for an enjoyable cooking experience, regardless of the length of your stay.

SAUNA: The sauna is a shared amenity with our two other guest rentals, with a signup sheet on the sauna allowing guests to reserve private 2-hour sessions, so it can be enjoyed exclusively by one guest group at a time (full usage details, rules, and safety guidelines are provided in our House Guide before check-in). Custom-built and designed using local Adirondack wood, the sauna was built with Finnish design principles and features shou sugi ban siding, a traditional Japanese method of charring wood. The wood-burning sauna stove can be enjoyed dry or with steam by ladling water over the heated sauna stones. The sauna cabin has a small covered outdoor porch with seats, allowing you to rest and cool off between sauna cycles.

EXTERIOR: Just outside off the kitchen is a small porch with a gas grill completing the cooking experience.

THE GROUNDS & SURROUNDINGS: Xplorer I is located right in the heart of town. We have private parking right in front of the house with enough room to comfortably fit two cars, (or even three smaller ones if needed). Being right in town, the lot is small, and we don`t have a typical `backyard`, but with the beautiful mountains all around us, who needs one? At Xplorer I, the Adirondack wilderness is your backyard.

We`re just off the main strip in town, which means local dining and shopping options are just a short walk away - You can walk to 46 Restaurant, Cedar Run Market, East Branch Organics, as well as our awesome neighbor Dartbrook South for artfully curated Adirondack goods & products. There’s even a public EV charger just a 2-minute walk from the house and another EV charger set located at Stewarts gas station just up the road. Enjoy the convenience of town living right at your doorstep.

NEIGHBORHOOD: The space is located in Keene, NY. Known as the `Home of the High Peaks`, Keene is a small, quiet, picturesque town, coveted for its central proximity amidst the mountains and major trailheads. To name just a few, trailheads including the ADK Loj/Heart Lake, The Garden, and the AuSable Club are just a short drive away, making it an excellent base for experiencing nature and outdoor exploration. Come winter, the slopes at Whiteface Ski Resort are a just a 17 min drive away. In addition to natural attractions, Keene and Keene Valley have several restaurants, unique shops, and town amenities. For those seeking more vibrancy, Lake Placid and its nightlife, shopping and dining options are just a short drive away (18min).

1. SOUND: Our property is conveniently situated just off the main strip, which means you might occasionally hear some noise. However, we provide a HEPA Air Purifier with a strong fan in the unit that can be used for white noise if desired. Further, Xplorer I is part of a duplex. We`ve taken measures to minimize sound transmission between the units by installing sound-damping insulation. However, given the nature of duplex living, we respectfully request all our guests to help maintain a peaceful environment, particularly during nighttime hours. Mindfulness in this regard will ensure that all guests enjoy a quiet and restful stay.

2. EXTERIOR SECURITY CAMERAS: For the safety and security of our guests, this property is equipped with exterior security cameras. These are located on the sides of the house/garage facing towards the driveway and monitor exterior entrances and outdoor areas only. Footage is used for security purposes only.

3. CLEANLINESS: We take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness. We conduct a comprehensive multi-hour cleaning and aerate the house utilizing a HEPA air purifier between each stay (HEPA even helps filter viruses like Covid-19 and Flu).

Hikers, writers and anyone looking for solitude love this log cabin that's very private but only a short walk from the heart of Keene Valley. With a double bed, bathroom with shower, microwave, coffee maker and a small table with chairs, it has enough room for one and feels pleasantly cozy with two. If you leave the French doors open, it's like a sleeping porch in the woods. Hikers especially love it because it's a mile's walk to the Garden, a popular High Peaks trailhead with limited parking.

One side of the cabin has French doors that open onto a tiny screened porch, just right for a cup of coffee in the morning or relaxing on a summer evening. This 1880's summer cottage is the perfect romantic getaway, writer's retreat or just a nice break from the noise of everyday life. This original studio of Keene Valley artist is located on a secluded cliff with beautiful views of Giant Mountain and its surroundings. The best feature is a huge covered porch (not screened) that functions as an outdoor dining room with a view. A nearby one-room cabin with a screened porch (perfect for sleeping in the summer) is available for $400 per week.

Porter Room shares two hall baths with three other rooms. The Inn is located in the heart of the Adirondack High Peaks, with hiking trails right outside our door. The Inn is set in a meadow .3 of a mile from the main road on a quiet dead end road surrounded by woods and open fields. A premier hiking, snow shoeing and x county skiing destination within 13 miles of Whiteface Mountain for downhill skiing and 18 miles from Lake Placid.

Porter is a room with two shared hall baths. The room is small and two persons is about right for the room.

The common areas include a study, foyer, living room, game room and kitchenette a mud room and large covered front porch, all of which are available to all of the guests.

The nearby Hoffman Wilderness, Ragged Mountain, and Boris Pond Area are all within a one-mile drive, offering prime hunting grounds and endless opportunities to explore the rugged, untamed beauty of the wilderness. Bigelow Room is a private room with an attached sleeping porch for use in the summer. It shares two hall bath with three other rooms on the same hall way. In the summer it can sleep a maximum of 4 people, and when the porch is closed for winter it sleeps a maximum of two people.

The space
Bigelow Room has a double bed inside and in the summer, two more beds on the sleeping porch. It overlooks a large meadow on the back side of the Inn and shares two hall baths with three other rooms. In the summer it can sleep a maximum of 4 people, and when the porch is closed for winter it sleeps a maximum of two people.

Guest access
The Inn is always open and the Bigelow Room is as well.

During your stay
The innkeepers are always present in the Inn and available to the guests. After 8 pm we ask that any non-urgent communications wait until morning.

This home was built in 1820. It was originally a schoolhouse. We have updated and renovated some but not all of the home to modernize it. However, it remains an older home with lower ceilings, older windows and no air conditioning. We do provide multiple fans for guest comfort and no one has yet complained about it being too hot in the summer. The price does reflect the age of the home.

PETS
We are pet friendly for responsible pet owners with approval. Pets may be allowed provided the following:
1) you do not leave your dog in the home unattended (cats are fine to leave alone)
2) all poop is double bagged and removed from the property (including all lawns and yard) and placed in the large garbage bins outside
3) you bring your own towels or blankets or some sort of furniture cover and place them on the couches and any furniture that your pet will go on or be sure to keep your pet off of furniture (many of the clothe chairs and couches are new and pet hair clings to them and future guests may be allergic)
4) if you have a cat, we ask that you bring your own scratch post and be cautious to make sure that your cat doesn’t scratch up our furniture
5) if you are okay with all of the above, the pet fee is $150 per pet per stay.
We charge the pet fees to address additional cleaning that will be necessary for future guests that may be allergic as we do our best to eliminate all pet hair. The $150 per pet per stay fee is separate from and ADDITIONAL to any cleaning fee charged. You will get a resolution request for the pet fee, specific to your number of pets and number of nights.
