Just footsteps from the lake, this unique, comfortable home will meet your vacation needs. Centrally located in the Finger Lakes region, you’ll have close access to beautiful state parks, wineries, museums, breweries, restaurants and many other cultural highlights. Major shopping areas are approximately 15 minutes away.
The property has four bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, a deck and a large yard suitable for summer games. The lake is very close and has a public dock for your enjoyment.

Our front porch has a glider and new rocking chairs. The kitchen has a large dining table, and additional seating at a breakfast bar. There are numerous pots and saute pans, bake ware and utensils for cooking. There is a microwave. The kitchen DOES NOT have a dishwasher. There is an air conditioner to cool this area of the house.

Off the kitchen is a bedroom with a twin bed. The other bedroom / den has a full sized futon and a dedicated work space with a desk. Linens for the downstairs bedrooms are located here, along with towels for swimming. Leaving the kitchen, there is a step down / step up to enter the large full bathroom and laundry room. This area is clearly marked with cautionary signs. This may present difficulties for guests with mobility challenges.

The living room has a new sectional couch and there are additional comfortable chairs. There are games, puzzles, books (children and adult) and some outdoor games as well. During cooler months, there is a gas fueled stove for additional heat and ambiance. There is a smart fire tv for guest to log into any of their chosen apps.
On the second floor there are two large bedrooms, each with queen beds and ACs. There is a full ensuite bathroom.

The deck has a new gas grill, seating area, and a table and chair set. The yard is flat and large. There is a clothes line for swim suits and towels.
There is off street parking.

The lake and public dock are steps away. Owasco Paddles Canoe and Kayak rental is approximately 4 miles away. Boats, however, cannot be tied to the dock, or left on shore.

The home was clean, stocked better than any rental we have been in, and we rent frequently and had dozens of board games and options for the kids when they needed a break from lake life. The walk to the dock is beautiful thanks to the neighbors gorgeous flowers and everyone was friendly. The only thing to note was there are not televisions in any bedroom. To our family that wasn't a negative. Overall will look to book the property again or refer it to our family and friends."

This home with waterfront is perfect for family reunions, extended families, or just large groups of friends! The east side location provides plenty of sunshine and awesome sunsets. There is a large two acre grassy lawn for kids to play and no neighbors on either side near the house. Since the yard is very spacious, you do have to walk approximately 100 yards (length of a football field) down the gently sloping property to the beach. The property gets more narrow towards the beach area where cottages get closer together. A stone driveway to drive to the water for people who can't walk this distance is located on the side of the property and cuts across the lawn near the waterfront. It is also used as a driveway/lane for cottages directly on the water. Kids can run and play, fly a kite, adults can have a volleyball game, play hoops, roast marsh-mellows, have a picnic, and take part in all kinds of water activities.

Inside, there is plenty of space to hang out together in the living room or family room. The dining room table seats 10 and table in the adjacent kitchen seats 6. Just outside the dining room is the deck which can seat 5 more or so. Many folks enjoy the piano room where they have singalongs with the family. There are also lots of nooks and crannies in the home where you could enjoy some quiet time away from the group. Of course, you could also do a little sunning at the beach while listening to the lapping waves, hang out on the new spacious deck there or relax in the lawn under one of the large shade trees.

The beach is all small flat rocks(shale) and has a deck and 45 foot dock. There are some stairs (approx. 20) from the lawn to the beach area. The new deck is about 1/3 the way down from the lawn. The water is very clean and there are no weeds in this area. It's crystal clear and you can easily see the bottom. It's a nice gradual walk out into the water and is about three feet deep at the end of the dock, which is great for kids- no drop offs. There are two kayaks with life-jackets for your use. For extremely large groups, we also own another home a short walk away with three bedrooms and sleeps 10 that you can inquire about. Auburn is only a quick drive (a few miles)away, so it is very convenient for shopping, restaurants, parks,etc. There are many things to do in the area depending on your interests.

It is located in the heart of the finger lakes; 5 miles from Skaneateles, 25 miles from Syracuse, and 45 miles from Rochester.

The kitchen is large enough for several people to cook together. The kitchen cookware and utensils are not well organized and a few expected items are missing, but we got along fine. Some drawers and cupboards contain old random junk, and some fixtures could use a refresh or repair. The host lives nearby and was friendly and responsive. I would come here again."

We chose this smaller lake hoping it would be much quieter in terms of boat traffic and cottages being on top of each other. It worked! We had privacy and safe swimming & kayaking every day! Welcome to The Samuel Adams House! Nestled on the east side of Owasco Lake in Auburn, NY, this wonderful estate was the former summer home of literary treasure, Samuel Hopkins Adams.

The Space:
This amazing stone Tudor was painstakingly renovated to its former glory and was recently introduced to rentals in July of 2019. It sits on over 1.2 private acres and has 6,500sf, sleeps 14 people and features 6 TRUE bedrooms all with queen beds, 4 1/2 bathrooms, 3 living rooms which includes a billiard room, chefs kitchen with high end appliances and 2 four seasons sitting porches. All four full bathrooms and the main level sitting porch have heated floors. There is also three separate forced air HVAC systems that provide air conditioning and/or heating to all areas of the home. There are two gas fire places. One in the billiard room and one in the great room.

The lakefront is truly impressive. This historic home boasts over 160 feet of private level lakefront. The fishing is amazing right off of the dock! We also have four kayaks, two paddle boards and a mooring buoy available for your enjoyment.

- "We've stayed at this property twice in the past few years and it is delightful. It is clean, it is spacious and it is in a good location in the heart of the Finger Lakes. We have family with lakefront property nearby, so that's where we go to get our Owasco Lake fix (since there's no lake access with this house), but we are very happy with the home -- very clean, lots to do with young kids (we appreciated all of the games and toys for our 3 year old son), and it's in a great location to get access to all the Finger Lakes has to offer. Family and friends will enjoy private access to LEVEL lakefront, which is hard to find on the Fingerlakes. It is shallow at this location and has a nice beach area for the children to play. The deck has a few different sitting areas including a screened porch. The new owners have recently completed extensive renovations which include flooring, bathrooms, central air conditioning, outside landscaping, new appliances, to name a few. There is 2300 square feet of living space with two different living rooms, one that has a large comfortable sectional and the other with a gas fire place. This house has the perfect setup for one or two families to share. It is conveniently located approximately 10 minutes away from downtown Auburn where you will find a large selection of restaurants, shops, stores, museums, Merry Go Round Theatre, and a 15 minute ride to Skaneateles Lake(the next town over). The beautiful sunsets from the outside patio or screened porch are absolutely Stunning! There is a dock, mooring buoy to store your boat when not in use, 2 kayaks, 1 paddle board,, gas grill, and a fire pit.

The Space:
There are 3 different levels to this house. When you enter via the mudroom, you will walk into the kitchen. To the right(overlooking the lake), there are 3 steps down to the sitting room (with a gas fireplace), dining area, porch, and Primary/King bedroom with ensuite. To the left of the mudroom, you will enter the living room with a large sectional sofa. Off of that living room, is the 2nd bedroom with queen bed, a full bathroom and a laundry room. In this living room, there's a regular set of stairs to the room with the 4 twin beds.

The lake is great for swimming and has a pebble beach! The lake is shallow for 10-15 feet out so its good for kids, pets, etc. We have a large grass yard surrounding the property as well as a small stream, and its very private, there are few other houses in the area. The house is only about 20 feet from the lake!
