Mulched area: Offers many different shrubs and flowers. You will find flower buckets around as well. Please stick to walking on the pavers and not the mulch as this will be tracked into the house. There are also some vegetables growing around porch area.

GrapeVine: If grapes are ready, feel free to pick.

Walking Paths: There is one that loops the upper field and one that circles down by the river and back up.

This is a two story cabin nestled in a private wooded area next to a stream. The upstairs has two private bedrooms with full size beds and a newly remodeled bathroom. Renters must provide their own bed linens, blankets, pillows, towels and bathroom products. The cabin can sleep additional two people by using the futon in a downstairs entertainment room. The kitchen is equipped with an electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, toaster oven and coffee pot. The pots and pans, plates, silverware and utensils are available for use. Also included is basic soaps, toilet paper, paper towels and cleaning products. Property has city water and garbage collection is on site. Wifi is available and there is cable TV for the main living room and both bedrooms. Cell phone service can be accessed, and a land line is available for local calls only.

A private lane leads to plenty of parking next to the cabin with lots of outdoor lighting. This is a great location for a quiet getaway, birthday parties, or local family reunions. Separate pricing for events based on number of people attending, call for details. A covered porch with swing and chairs faces the stream for a relaxing afternoon. A fire pit is located next to the stream and beside a covered pavilion.

For the adventurer, Parker Dam, Elliott Park, Bilger Rocks, and Curwensville Dam are close by. Clearfield area provides places to eat such as Denny's Beer Barrel Pub, Moena's Restaurant, St Charles Restaurant and the Toasted Monkey. For other points of interest and entertainment there is Grice’s Gun Shop, the Ritz theater and local wineries. Enjoy the 12 miles of rails to trails for biking and hiking between Clearfield and Grampian. Enjoy fishing, rafting and kayaking on the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, which flows through Clearfield, and was named one of 2012 best destinations by National Geographic Magazine. The town of Benezette, where the Elk roam free, is approximately one hour away. There is a minimum of 2 night stay.

The cabin played a prominent role in the movie, Generational Sins. It was the boyhood home of one of the characters and the film and is featured throughout the film. We have a copy, so you can watch it during your stay! Many of our guests particularly enjoyed watching it 'on location'!

The cabin has one bedroom, one bathroom w/shower, a kitchen and a great room with a futon and a couch, so it sleeps 4-5 guests. The cabin is equipped with most everything you should need. It has a fully stocked kitchen with dinnerware, pots and pans, utensils and cookware. We provide a variety of breakfast items, such as coffee, tea, juice, yogurt, cereal, muffins, and even pancake mix, but you can bring whatever you like to cook. There is a gas stove, refrigerator, sink, microwave, toaster, blender, and a coffee maker.

Sheets, blankets, towels, and toiletries are included. We also provide an iron and a blow dryer.

For indoor fun we have several board games, cards, puzzles and books, coloring books, and a TV for watching DVD movies. There is no television reception or WiFi, but we have very good Verizon service.

The front porch has a couple of rocking chairs and a swing for relaxing outdoors and watching the wildlife. There is an outdoor campfire ring and a grill rack and an outdoor dining area. There are many miles of hiking trails within a short drive and miles and miles of wilderness to explore. Some of the best fishing streams in Pennsylvania are only a short distance away and if you like paddling, we are only one mile from the West Branch Susquehanna river. We offer a shuttle service if you bring your own boats and there is a local outfitter if you need to rent equipment. Winter and summer outdoor activities are endless!

The cabin is heated in the winter and has AC for the summer months. Parking is very close to the entrance for easy unloading. There is a keypad entry.

Guests are welcome to explore our 24 private acres. We have trails on the property. There is an outdoor fire pit for cookouts and s'mores!

Other things to note
Due to the nature of the development we live in, the road leading to the property is a private road and we need to limit the number of vehicles that come to the cabin. We are limited to one vehicle per stay, so we advise you to make plans for sharing a ride if you are coming with friends. We're sorry, but we cannot accommodate visitors.

NOTE: Our cabin is perfect for extended stays and it is completely isolated from the outside world and conducive to working remotely in a natural, forested setting. We offer discounts for extended stays.

Here is a fun fact about the main house at Oak Mountain Hideaway is that it is a live music venue! We have been hosting Oak Mountain Hideaway House Concerts since 2005! We cover many genres of music and host many international acts from Ireland, Scotland, The Netherlands and others. You will be able to attend a concert and then stay overnight, right next door! Relax in a zero gravity recliner after your dry sauna in the living room, while the kids play Xbox one with 27 different games in the master bedroom. Only 50 mins from state college, easy drive on the freeway. Also if personal shuttle needed for games it can be arranged by host to drive to the game and back to Clearfield for a fee. Avoid the lines of getting out of the parking lot by having a personal shuttle! Also only 2.5 hours away from Hershey Park!!!

Family cabin quietly seated, but yet 5 min from I-80 and within minutes to ATV trails, Penn State University, PA wilds and Bennezette, Black Moshannon State Park, hiking trails, fishing and hunting. cabin offers all the comforts of home. pavilion with tables and chairs to seat 50+. 2 bedrooms with a queen bed in each, a bunk room that has 1 queen, 1 double and 5 single bunks. 1 Air mattress. Living area offers 2 couches, 1 love seat 2 recliners 3 large tv's. kitchen provides, gas stove, microwave, fridge, keurig, and everything else you would need to cook a full gourmet meal or microwave some mac and cheese.

It was also very clean and well kept inside. We rented it for my graduation weekend. I was hoping to fill it up with as many people as possible. It ended up just being me, my fiance, two daughters, and my mom. It rained a lot so the pavillion was a nice feature, we were still able to be outside. Yes, there is a porter potty and the water should be ran with conservation in mind, but the seclusion is worth it and it's nothing you wouldn't run into camping. He was in the process of making the outdoor living space even better, but we were able to grill in the rain too. He was a very generous host, very micasa su casa. My 10 year old loved exploring the woods and being unplugged.It's a very small town and it is a dry town from my experience. So if you plan on adult beverages, plan ahead. The fish nearby at Key Largos was amazing! Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely try to go back the next time we need to get away for a weekend."
