- "Loved our stay! Few issues, but overall our stay was comfortable and loved the place provided dishes because i dod cook fir my husband. The bed was comfortable and we loved it came netflix and cable ready. I think you can get a bigger ironing board, that very tiny board was a bit hard work to iron grown folks clothes. More for ironing kid clothes. However, we were very pleased and satisfied. The building is under renovation but still easy to move around. And the lobby building smelled really fresh and clean. Someone did urinate in the elevator, but we were leaving so we never cared of that. Saw a roach in the bathroom, saw small baby roaches in the kitchen in the sink area. Everything else was clean. Did find a cigarette butt on the balcony. Neither one of us smoke, but we got it up so we wouldn't be blamed or charged. We did take our own trash out to the chute and we rinsed our dishes and wiped down. Only tbing i wasnot satisfied with was our door handle was very loose and noticeable. Did feel too safe leaving our expensive things in the room. But, we did and everything was fine. Regardless of those issues I would definitely recommend this property as a great place to stay when traveling. We loved Memphis, loved the area also. And lastly, park in the parking lot across the street from the building. It was $12, security patrols the lot and you could enter the building quickly from the back door going through the hotel parking lot in the rear. We were definitely pleased!"

It was a little hassle getting into the apartment but we lucked out and got a parking place on the street in front of the building when we arrived. You can pay for the parking via your cell phone. The code, door and elevator with a timeframe trying to get all the bags in was a struggle but once that part is over it is easy peasy. There are key cards in the apartment to use for your stay that allow you to just hold your bag (with the key inside) near the pad by the door for opening. We had 3 bedrooms which was great for everyone to have some space when they needed it but then could gather in the living room or kitchen and be together. We walked to Gus’s chicken which was fantastic and also along the river. Safe area and good location. Also loved that they left a list of recommended restaurants and bars with description- always nice to have a locals perspective. This property is great for groups traveling together. Could walk many places ( Beale, pyramid, Peabody) if you are a little fit. We felt safe and really enjoyed our stay. "

- "Warning do not rent- this house is the worst I have ever stayed in. We couldn’t use the top floor because the AC went out and it was 90 degrees upstairs. The exterior of the home was unkept, cracking, peeling paint, glass door was missing on back door and spider webs were everywhere. The home online was blue and when we arrived it was gray. The doorbell was missing and wires were sticking out. The vents on the floor were dusty and broken, one of the vents had a manhole and we had to cover it with a chair to make sure our baby didn’t fall in it. This is a historic home and they decided to just slap paint on it. There was dirt stuck in many areas. The 1 shower we had to share was missing the glass door and the hot water knob was broken. The shower was filthy and full of bacteria.We had to shower with shower shoes on. The backyard was also unkept, dusty and next door was a construction site. We could not allow our kids to play anywhere at this home. We stayed away from this house all day and came back at night just to sleep. I am demanding my money back and will be taking legal action. This home should not be listed to rent. We begged the property management to relocate us and they would not, knowing the condition of this home. "

Bed and pillows were amazing, bathroom and kitchen were clean, floors were clean, very impressive, just the right size and use of space, 2 of us and never felt cramped I was given all the info I needed to access the property prior to check-in, the owner emailed to check on us and made themselves available daily if needed (we didn't), the property and furniture is updated, all in all, exceeded our standards of somewhere to sleep and shower that felt safe and comfortable. It was obvious the owners wanted to accommodate, clear and upfront directions/instructions, good signage/labels, all the outlets worked, no burned out bulbs, the basics and then some were available, operational, and in good working condition. 12/10, highly recommend"

- "September 25th to October 5 stay. I was in town for work. The property appears to be a high quality full renovation of a historical commercial/industrial building in downtown Memphis. The location certainly could not be better. Some commenters have mentioned street noise, and of course there is some. The R&R Houses are in the business of saving. We save old houses, we save old furniture, and we save our guest money. (yes, the mattresses are new) There’s too much stuff in the world. Recycling is nice, but reducing and reusing are the true pillars of a sustainable society, as it requires a change of mindset. By staying at one of our houses, you are standing up the ‘more is better’ ideology we’ve all been sold. R&R Houses are comfortable, but modest. Mostly clean, but mostly minimal. They are largely self-serve and run remotely, which helps us aggregate our resources. Any art or decor at an R&R House has likely been salvaged from some old thrift shop; or bargained over at some clandestine estate sale. All these items, like the houses themselves, have a history and place in time. They have a unique story only they know. A society that would toss them away because they’ve lost fashion, is hardly a society at all. Does a house not still give shelter? Does a lamp not still give light? And do we not now live in a world that desperately needs light?! We also have free fruit, oatmeal, coffee and tea. How many trees must be uprooted to build another Hotel? Airbnb started started the housing and travel revolution, we are honored to play our role as a low cost lodging option.

We know the world is home to us all, but while you're in town, we would love to make R&R House the next line on your address.


We have carved out an individual space from our hostel just for you. Our house is older, wiser, and carries a little more character than most, but that only makes it cozier. We have filled the interior with salvaged furniture and decor to help dispel the old adage that "new is better" and to push for a more sustainable future for hospitality. The R&R House consists of five private rooms, a dorm room, a sun room, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a comfortable living room.


This listing is for a single dorm bed inside of a 2 dorm bed sunroom. Such a great deal on a clean & comfy bed is definitely worth making a few new friends!

We take a hands-off approach to hosting so you and your group can feel like the place is really yours.

Please note that this listing is NOT for a private room. It is for one twin sized bed in our sun room i.e. a shared room. **This area is the open area behind the fireplace in the living room.** The dorm room, which is co-ed accommodates 2 in total (i.e. 1 bunk bed). Dorm Bed 6 is a BOTTOM bunk bed. Each reservation for Bunk 6 can only be made for 1 guest (i.e. Bunk 6 accommodates only ONE guest). The other bed in this sunroom is listed individually as Dorm Bed 5 (top of Bunk 3 in sunroom). ***In addition to the shared sunroom (shared because there is a wall with two openings on either side to the living room, not offering 100% privacy, our residence contains 5 private rooms which hold a maximum of 2 guests each and an additional dorm room that has 2 more bunkbeds. The other shared spaces in our residence include 1 bathroom (2 bathrooms total in house), a kitchen, laundry area, and a living area.

You will have a locker available for your use, that is numbered in a corresponding manner to your bunk. You will need to bring your own lock if you want to use these lockers.

We are a low-key hostel, for those travelers on a budget looking for a quick stay at a place with basic amenities.

There's plenty of parking space in the front driveway, in the backyard and along the street out front. U-hauls can typically fit at our space.

The house consists of 5 private rooms which can hosts 2 guests each. We also have a "dorm room" with 2 bunk beds, allowing a 4 guest maximum, and a third bunk located in our open sun-room hosting 2 more guests (secluded, yet does not have a door, so the least "private area" of the house). Our space can hold 16 people at max, but rarely is fully-packed if you are concerned about privacy. There is a bathroom upstairs for our Private rooms 4, 5, and 6, and a bathroom downstairs for Private rooms 1 and 3 as well as our 6 bunk beds. Please be respectful of the bathroom areas, and understand we only come to the house once a day (early afternoon before 3:00 check-in) to clean up behind other guests.

Our goal at R&R House is to provide the budget conscious with a hot shower, a comfortable bed, all while trying to reduce our eco-footprint. After all, our Rs stand for Reduce and Reuse.

We know the world is home to us all, but while you're in town, we would love to make R&R House the next line on your address.


We have carved out an individual space from our hostel just for you. Our house is older, wiser, and carries a little more character than most, but that only makes it cozier. We have filled the interior with salvaged furniture and decor to help dispel the old adage that "new is better" and to push for a more sustainable future for hospitality. The R&R House consists of five private rooms, a dorm room, a sun room, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a comfortable living room.


This listing is for a single dorm bed inside of a 2 dorm bed sunroom. Such a great deal on a clean & comfy bed is definitely worth making a few new friends!

We take a hands-off approach to hosting so you and your group can feel like the place is really yours.

Please note that this listing is NOT for a private room. It is for one twin sized bed in our sun room i.e. a shared room. **This area is the open area behind the fireplace in the living room.** The dorm room, which is co-ed accommodates 2 in total (i.e. 1 bunk bed). Dorm Bed 6 is a BOTTOM bunk bed. Each reservation for Bunk 6 can only be made for 1 guest (i.e. Bunk 6 accommodates only ONE guest). The other bed in this sunroom is listed individually as Dorm Bed 5 (top of Bunk 3 in sunroom). ***In addition to the shared sunroom (shared because there is a wall with two openings on either side to the living room, not offering 100% privacy, our residence contains 5 private rooms which hold a maximum of 2 guests each and an additional dorm room that has 2 more bunkbeds. The other shared spaces in our residence include 1 bathroom (2 bathrooms total in house), a kitchen, laundry area, and a living area.

You will have a locker available for your use, that is numbered in a corresponding manner to your bunk. You will need to bring your own lock if you want to use these lockers.

We are a low-key hostel, for those travelers on a budget looking for a quick stay at a place with basic amenities.

-two dining room tables, a furnished living room if you want to mingle with other guests
-working heat // extra blankets for those especially chilly nights
-mattress pad covers to prevent bed bugs and provide extra peace of mind at night


No smoking inside please! Guests may smoke outside, away from the front door to be respectful to non-smokers

There's plenty of parking space in the front driveway, in the backyard and along the street out front. U-hauls can typically fit at our space.

The house consists of 5 private rooms which can hosts 2 guests each. We also have a "dorm room" with 2 bunk beds, allowing a 4 guest maximum, and a third bunk located in our open sun-room hosting 2 more guests (secluded, yet does not have a door, so the least "private area" of the house). Our space can hold 16 people at max, but rarely is fully-packed if you are concerned about privacy. There is a bathroom upstairs for our Private rooms 4, 5, and 6, and a bathroom downstairs for Private rooms 1 and 3 as well as our 6 bunk beds. Please be respectful of the bathroom areas, and understand we only come to the house once a day (early afternoon before 3:00 check-in) to clean up behind other guests.

((**Disclaimer** if you are concerned with sharing bathrooms with other guests, who may or may not be respectful to the house as one should be as a guest, then please book at your own discretion: we do not offer refunds solely because the guest before you made a mess. This is a part of hostel-type environments unfortunately, yet is why we offer such affordable rates. We clean thoroughly each day, and hope our guests will be respectful of that)).
