- "Loved our stay! Few issues, but overall our stay was comfortable and loved the place provided dishes because i dod cook fir my husband. The bed was comfortable and we loved it came netflix and cable ready. I think you can get a bigger ironing board, that very tiny board was a bit hard work to iron grown folks clothes. More for ironing kid clothes. However, we were very pleased and satisfied. The building is under renovation but still easy to move around. And the lobby building smelled really fresh and clean. Someone did urinate in the elevator, but we were leaving so we never cared of that. Saw a roach in the bathroom, saw small baby roaches in the kitchen in the sink area. Everything else was clean. Did find a cigarette butt on the balcony. Neither one of us smoke, but we got it up so we wouldn't be blamed or charged. We did take our own trash out to the chute and we rinsed our dishes and wiped down. Only tbing i wasnot satisfied with was our door handle was very loose and noticeable. Did feel too safe leaving our expensive things in the room. But, we did and everything was fine. Regardless of those issues I would definitely recommend this property as a great place to stay when traveling. We loved Memphis, loved the area also. And lastly, park in the parking lot across the street from the building. It was $12, security patrols the lot and you could enter the building quickly from the back door going through the hotel parking lot in the rear. We were definitely pleased!"

It was a little hassle getting into the apartment but we lucked out and got a parking place on the street in front of the building when we arrived. You can pay for the parking via your cell phone. The code, door and elevator with a timeframe trying to get all the bags in was a struggle but once that part is over it is easy peasy. There are key cards in the apartment to use for your stay that allow you to just hold your bag (with the key inside) near the pad by the door for opening. We had 3 bedrooms which was great for everyone to have some space when they needed it but then could gather in the living room or kitchen and be together. We walked to Gus’s chicken which was fantastic and also along the river. Safe area and good location. Also loved that they left a list of recommended restaurants and bars with description- always nice to have a locals perspective. This property is great for groups traveling together. Could walk many places ( Beale, pyramid, Peabody) if you are a little fit. We felt safe and really enjoyed our stay. "

We support animal rescue, specifically Tunica Humane Society. We have dogs in the back yards which the unit overlooks. Some are adopted rescues, some are failed fosters. They will probably greet your arrivals. For obvious reasons, we can’t let guests mingle with them or enter the back yards. If you bring your pet, we will supply a crate for it for when you are gone. The Greenline, right around the corner, is a great path for miles...for dog walking, jogging and running.

➤ There can not be any more than the allowed number of guests in or on the property at any one time, violation could lead to the immediate removal of all guests without a refund

➤ Late check-out fee of $50 (if not authorized) applies for check-outs after 11:00 am. We`re sorry we have to charge this but we pay our housekeepers based on the agreed-upon checkout time and if they are unable to clean we still have to pay them

➤ Guests who make reservations for over 30 days must sign our standard lease agreement and agree to a background check before check-in (it will be provided before check-in)

➤ As part of our commitment to maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for all guests, we require a midterm cleaning for reservations lasting 30 days or longer. The midterm cleaning will take place on the 15th day of your reservation. This cleaning is mandatory and is designed to ensure the continued cleanliness and hygiene of the property

➤ The cleaning fee for the mandatory mid-stay clean will be deducted from your security deposit (or through Airbnb resolutions)

➤ No pets allowed

➤ Excessively dirty units will incur an additional cleaning fee and will be evidenced with photos

➤ For your security and protection the property is equipped with an exterior camera

➤ Please remember to take all of your belongings with you upon checkout. Any items left behind will incur a $50 Mailing fee (separate from the cost of postage). We will do our best to send your items back to you within a week

➤ For security reasons, NO food or package deliveries inside our gated complexes or internal buildings. Please meet them outside the buildings or gates.

➤ Guests who fail to arrive for their reservation, for any reason, will be considered no-shows. No-shows are non-refundable, and no credits, reschedules, or exceptions will be provided under any circumstances.

Stayed for my birthday weekend and it was perfect" - "This gem is located close to everything: the National Civil Rights Museum (a somber but WOW experience), great restaurants and bars (highly recommend the Slider Inn’s “Cuban & Reuben Egg Rolls” and Jamieson Slushies), easy walk to Beale Street (hearing Blind Mississippi Morris at the Blues City Cafe a highlight) and right on the trolley line. The apartment was clean and bright and well-kept. Everything I needed (except paper towels/napkins) for my 5-day stay. The owner was very easy to reach and helpful. As a first-time Memphis visitor, the “hints” sheet he left providing suggestions for local restaurants, tourist spots, grocery stores, etc. was a very nice touch. (BTW … Sun Studio’s 45-minute tour was an unexpectedly great surprise, and highly recommended for music buffs). I’d definitely stay here again if I get back to Memphis."

Uniquely situated in Memphis Historical Victorian Village as well as the Medical District. This quiet neighborhood is surrounded by lush tall trees and historic century old restored villas.

The neighborhood is centrally located and provides easy access to all attractions whether with your own car or Uber/Lyft. Parking is available in our gated front parking area. Additional parking at the 24x7 monitored back parking area. Also, there is plenty of street parking available as well.

Parking: There is a 1-car maximum for the limited gated parking lot. Any additional cars are welcome to use the complimentary rear parking or the street parking. All parking is first-come, first-serve. Note: The parking lot entrance/exit is very narrow for some cars.

Please note, we have recently made improvements by adding sound insulation on the ceiling and walls as per feedback received from our guests. Also, we provide ear plugs and white noise machine in each loft to maximize guests' comfort and experience.

We are a small minority owned business. We support women owned small cleaning business and other local small businesses in Memphis.
We would love to host you as our guest and thank you in advance for understanding our additional house rules:

1. Check in anytime after 4pm and check out by 11am. Please reach out if you desire an early check in and we will try to accommodate your request.

2. Smoking of any kind including vapes and marijuana is strictly prohibited inside the suites. We have advance sensors to detect and report presence of cigarette smoke and weed. We would hate to charge a $200 smoking fee.

3. Please notify owners of any difficulty or problems you incur during your stay. We will make every effort to eliminate these problems or make repairs as soon as possible.

4. Please be mindful of white linens and towels, extra cleaning fee may be applied for permanently stained linens or towels.

The neighborhood is centrally located and provides easy access to all attractions whether with your own car or Uber/Lyft. Parking is available in our gated front parking area. Additional parking at the 24x7 monitored back parking area. Also, there is plenty of street parking available as well.

Parking: There is a 1-car maximum for the limited gated parking lot. Any additional cars are welcome to use complementary rear parking or the street parking. All parking is first-come, first-serve. Note: The parking lot entrance/exit is very narrow for some cars.

Please note, we have recently made improvements by adding sound insulation on the ceiling and walls as per feedback received from our guests. Also, we provide ear plugs and white noise machine in each loft to maximize guests' comfort and experience.

We are a small minority owned business. We support women owned small cleaning business and other local small businesses in Memphis.

Bed and pillows were amazing, bathroom and kitchen were clean, floors were clean, very impressive, just the right size and use of space, 2 of us and never felt cramped I was given all the info I needed to access the property prior to check-in, the owner emailed to check on us and made themselves available daily if needed (we didn't), the property and furniture is updated, all in all, exceeded our standards of somewhere to sleep and shower that felt safe and comfortable. It was obvious the owners wanted to accommodate, clear and upfront directions/instructions, good signage/labels, all the outlets worked, no burned out bulbs, the basics and then some were available, operational, and in good working condition. 12/10, highly recommend"

What started as a place for our family to come and enjoy one another without distraction, is now a group of venues established (officially founded by John and Linda Shaw in 2018) for the sole purpose of providing a tranquil venue to gather and connect in love and fellowship. Our cozy and chic “Main Option”, is a modest quadplex of one bedroom garden apartments Located on Main Street in Downtown Memphis. Main Option is a part of the continued urban development adjacent to both Riverfront Harbor and Uptown neighborhoods and sits directly across from the Soul and Spirits Brewery and around the corner from the Grind City Brewery. Catch a ride to Beale Street on a horse drawn carriage as they past your front door. Or stroll to the historic Slave Haven Underground Railroad Museum behind you. The ease of access to the trolley line makes visiting the Memphis Must-See’s a breeze! Hop on the trolley line to enjoy Beale Street nightlife, watch the famed Peabody Ducks conduct their daily Duck Parade, or catch the NBA’S Memphis Grizzlies at the Fed-Ex Forum. This agreement has been created to ensure contract between our guest, and your host(s) is satisfied in a manner that limits liability or harm to either parties.

The Shaws’ were established to provide a venue that sets the stage for a clean, safe, enjoyable, memorable home away from home for travelers. In order to maintain that it has become necessary for us to add this rental agreement for each booking.

Your booking payment is considered acceptance to this agreement acknowledges your acceptance of such. You are encouraged to read.
Because our calendar is blocked for you, and our concierge services begin the instant you book, we have a strict no refund cancellation policy.For this reason it is recommended you purchase trip insurance. However, under special circumstances,we reserve the right to allow you to use paid dates within a year blocking peak dates.

Identification will be required from the booking agent, who must in turn provide The Shaws’ a guest list including names of guests to occupy property in case of Emergency. Our only third party bookings or for company’s only. We do not accept any payments other than VRBO platform. Any false information provided during booking can be cause for termination. NO CHECKS! DONT ASK!

Minimum age requirement to book any Shaws’ property is 25. No exceptions.

No parties or large events in violation of our City’s permit will be allowed at any Shaws’ property. Intimate gatherings are encouraged and supported to sleeping capacity limits only. We can assist in preparation. Quiet hours are 10p.m. to 8 a,m.

Vehicle limits and parking instructions provided must be adhered to. As courtesy, The Shaws’ have provided one steering column lock for you to use as you move about the city. However, we recommend valuable items be removed from your vehicle as we are not liable for any loss.

Smoking of any kind is allowed only in the designated areas. If smoke is detected a fine will be assessed.

Exterior cameras will monitor and record at each location for suspicious activity that disturbs the quiet peace and enjoyment of both our guests and or our community. Social areas are provided on the premises. No loitering outside of those areas will be permitted.

Should it be deemed necessary for ANY police involvement for ANY reason that will be cause for immediate termination of this agreement without any refund or compensation and lead to immediate eviction. Any attempts to chargeback any payments, intimidate, or bribe The Shaws’ will be considered criminally defrauding an Innkeeper and full restitution will be sought. Any attorneys fees incurred will be at guests expense. Further, we will not allow booking agent any further bookings at any Shaws’ property.

We know when you arrive, you will find The Shaws’ to be clean and in order. Even though we dot not charge a cleaning fee, extra steps were taken to ensure the property safe and sanitized.

I decided to take the chance this year, and found The Shaws apartment. It was serendipity! Perfect little apartment for a couple with everything you need. Kitchen is stocked with everything you'll need to make meals, bathroom is stocked with extra toiletries and soap and towels. I knew we'd chosen to stay with someone who goes above and beyond when we walked in an had a Welcome basket full of yummy goodies! I've never had owners do that before! It was nice to just sit down and have a snack after driving all day! They give you plenty of information about local attractions and restaurants, and Linda was so quick with communication. Your space has a great layout with the kitchen and bathroom centered in the middle, bedroom and living room at opposite sides of the apartment.

The location and layout of the apartment make it perfect for the solo traveler, those heading in to town for work, or a couple on nice retreat to Memphis! Blazing fast internet, iron and ironing board, basic cooking spices and all the kitchenry to whip up a quick meal.

If you feel like heading out you will be walking distance from some super scrumptious restaurants!

I`ve tried to set it up so you have several different sitting areas; a couple in the living area with either a comfy sofa or a relaxing chair facing the smart TV. A small kitchen table with a couple bar stools is also a good place eat a meal you brought in from one of the many nearby restaurants or a meal you prepared yourself in the equipped kitchen with all the essentials (salt, pepper, olive oil)

This is just one apartment in a building of 12 in the gated community. You will find the laundry and dryer in the kitchen area with the soaps to go along with it.

Once you head in through the front gate you will see plenty of parking straight ahead - you`re welcome to park in any spot.

You will have full access in the apartment.

You`ll receive a digital code a one day before your arrival for the front door which means that 24 hour check-in is no problem at all! Any questions and we can be reached 24 hours a day by sending us a quick message.

I will send you a text with a link to my guidebook I`m working on before your arrival but you will also have additional information inside the apartment with contacts, transportation and other general info

Walk out the front door and just down the block around the corner brings you to a bustling Overton Square with a bunch of restaurant options, bars, and live music venues at Lafayettes and, of course, a delicious BBQ joint just up the street.

Head downtown the other direction in a short uber ($8) and you`ll find yourself engulfed in Memphis` blues scene on the famous Beale street.

In addition to the many great eateries (which you`ll find in the guidebook i`ll send you) there are several parks nearby and places to relax.

Uber or Lyft are readily available and definitely the best option.

There is a trolley that runs down Madison and will bring you to downtown if you want a little more of a historic experience heading downtown.

**The property is a bit older so sound can travel through the walls easier - please be mindful of your noise level after 10 pm as to not disturb the neighbors, thanks in advance!**

➤ Guests acknowledge that they will keep their noise level to a minimum after 10:00 pm; sound will travel through the walls if too loud.

➤ No parties or events allowed

➤ Guest must provide us with a valid working phone number & guests listed on the reservation must report to us within 2 hours from the time of arrival if anything in regards to cleanliness does not meet their standards so we can help address the situation as soon as possible

➤ NO SMOKING or use of fire permitted in the rental; guest acknowledges that no `smoking` includes the use of vape pens and marijuana and `use of fire` includes the lighting of candles, incense, or sage. There will be a $200 charge per day of reservation if this rule is not followed

➤ There can not be any more than the allowed number of guests in or on the property at any one time, violation could lead to the immediate removal of all guests without a refund

➤ Late check-out fee of $50 (if not authorized) applies for check-outs after 11:00 am. We`re sorry we have to charge this but we pay our housekeepers based on the agreed-upon checkout time and if they are unable to clean we still have to pay them

➤ Guests who make reservations for over 30 days must sign our standard lease agreement and agree to a background check before check-in (it will be provided before check-in)

➤ As part of our commitment to maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for all guests, we require a midterm cleaning for reservations lasting 30 days or longer. The midterm cleaning will take place on the 15th day of your reservation. This cleaning is mandatory and is designed to ensure the continued cleanliness and hygiene of the property

➤ The cleaning fee for the mandatory mid-stay clean will be deducted from your security deposit (or through Airbnb resolutions)

➤ No pets allowed

➤ Excessively dirty units will incur an additional cleaning fee and will be evidenced with photos

➤ For your security and protection the property is equipped with an exterior camera

➤ Please remember to take all of your belongings with you upon checkout. Any items left behind will incur a $50 Mailing fee (separate from the cost of postage). We will do our best to send your items back to you within a week

➤ For security reasons, NO food or package deliveries inside our gated complexes or internal buildings. Please meet them outside the buildings or gates.

➤ Guests who fail to arrive for their reservation, for any reason, will be considered no-shows. No-shows are non-refundable, and no credits, reschedules, or exceptions will be provided under any circumstances.

➤ If not following any of our rules forces us to refund or discount an upcoming or existing guest you will be liable for the costs

➤ If you were a previous/current guest and did not respect our house rules and our property, we have the right to decline your next reservation. Thank you for understanding

The space: This 1910's fourplex apartment building has tons of historic charm but with modern amenities and updates. The shared balcony upstairs is perfect for morning coffee. The unit itself is on the ground floor, is sophisticated yet cozy, with contemporary furnishings, vintage touches, and original hardwood floors. A shotgun house is a long narrow unit with no central hallway - so the living room flows into the bedroom which flows into the dining room, without separation; perfect for couples and solo travelers. The bathroom and kitchen were just renovated! The apartment has stylish furnishings, a big screen TV, a comfortable memory foam mattress and laundry in unit. Pets are welcome!

The location: Super central Midtown location! Easy to drive anywhere in Memphis or Uber/Lyft. Easy and free street parking.

Other things to note: This is a lower unit in an old historic building - you may hear other guests walking around in the unit above you. We do have plenty of area rugs to dampen sound and ask them to be quiet and respectful, but if this would bother you or you are a very light sleeper, we would suggest booking an upstairs unit or one story property instead.

The apartment is located in a recently renovated apartment building. While exterior renovations are ongoing, do not let the exterior deter you. If there is any property issue, please let us know and we will work with the building manager to address the issue promptly.

Utility Bill: We cover the first $75 and charge the guest the remaining amount. This bill is to prevent any excessive electricity and water usage. The monthly bill is typically $50-$75 with moderate AC usage (i.e. thermostat set to less than 70 degrees). The charge is sent to you via Airbnb at the beginning of each month.

Visible Music Lodging is a controlled access property that values the safety and security of those who visit and live here. A student will hand off an access card at a pre-coordinated check-in time. Keys await guests on the kitchen counter.

During your stay
Although there is no short-term rental office on site, a Visible Music student will meet you to hand off your key card for access to the building. The Left Field Properties office is open during regular business hours Monday through Friday. Guests can message through their booking site.

With no front desk, guests have the independence to explore Memphis as they please
