- "We were two couples and a teenager and the house was plenty of room for our group. The kitchen was well stocked with tools and basics (salt, olive oil, etc.). My husband and I stayed in the downstairs bedroom with an en-suite bath and our friends and their daughter stayed upstairs. The house was warm and cozy and we really enjoyed our stay. The WiFi was a little slow at times but fine for our needs. Note that we didn’t have any cell reception until we got into town, but it wasn’t an issue. The star gazing was spectacular. "

Located on the corner of Oleson and Mohawk Trail which is the main intersection of the town of Florida, this log cabin is effectively located in "Downtown Florida". The population of Florida is about 700 and is on top of the Hoosac Mountain Range in the most picturesque portion of the historic Mohawk Trail. You need a car to get around. With a little planning you could have flowers, cute teddy bear or other gifts awaiting your arrival in the cabin. Wayne has built an outdoor oasis complete with the lover's swing, the charcoal grill, the picnic table, the stump table and the romantic string lights to extend the amorous atmosphere even after sun down. Wayne also stacks dry/split firewood neatly right near the firepit so you can start a campfire easily. In the winter Wayne plows the driveway multiple times (the first time before 8am so you will be able to get in/out without any problem). Extras! We run a souvenir/ gift shop called 57parkstreet in nearby Adams and can help you source anything you need to make your cabin stay special. Log cabin for rent in Charlemont, and only 3 miles to Berkshire East Ski Resort. 4 bedroom 2 bath cabin comfortably sleeps 12 people and has just been renovated with new bathrooms, flooring and kitchen. The open floor plan in the main living area boasts 19' ceilings, making it a great place to cook and relax, while hanging out with everyone in the house. The fully finished basement is a great place for the kids to play with some toys, multiple board games, or even some video games. If you would like to relax the upstairs loft is a great place to read a book, while looking out the wall of windows towards the mountains in the distance. The house faces west so each day enjoy magnificent sun sets that set over the mountains. If you enjoy the rustic lifestyle and enjoy the outdoors this is the place to be.

3 Bedroom house, known as Flight's End, is for rent by night (two-night minimum), weekend, week or month. Great for romantic get away or a family outdoor vacation. Not a party house. Fifteen minutes to Charlemont, Ashfield and Shelburne Falls. One hour to Amherst, North Adams, Pittsfield.

House is located on a brook and across the road from a private pond (not suitable for swimming). Fifteen minutes to Berkshire East for skiing and zip line tours or Zoar Outdoor and Crabapple Rafting for rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, zip line tours, etc. Kenneth Dubuque State Forest is a 5 minutes walk. Good for hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling.

Drag a lawn chair over to the pond, fetch a glass of wine and watch the antics of geese, ducks and maybe a beaver while the sun sets beyond the pond. The babbling brook has places where kids can play in an old swimming hole, catch minnows, and build rock dams. House sleeps 6 - two rooms with double beds, one room with a queen bed. There's room in the basement for two more on twin bunkbeds if you don't mind a basement.

Newer appliances: House has a new Energy Star washer and dryer, gas stove and microwave. Mitsubishi heat pump for heat and AC added in 2017; fans available for upstairs bedrooms. Wi-Fi satellite internet is available and reaches the back yard and the nearby pond and brook areas. We have a gas grill, a small fire pit and a folding picnic table along with many outdoor chairs.

- "This house is exactly as listed and prior reviews characterize it well. The location is really beautiful - country road in the Berkshires near both an orchard for apple cider and dairy for yogurt they sell in our fancy Boston shops. The pond across the way is quite pretty, and the hosts are wonderful about access their kayaks and bike to explore the area, and helpful with stuff like the remote control, etc. The house was extremely clean, and comfortable. Deck/fire pit worked great outside with collapsible/portable table for dinner. We were in town for Zipline adventure at Zoar, and drove to Williamstown and back. Also did a big bike ride of the area (hilly, mostly dirt roads). Had we had more time, better weather we would have done some tubing in the Deerfield River. Berkshire East activites are just minutes away. Came out on Rte 2 and went back thru Northampton (to Boston), and saw the Dinosaur tracks on the way. Great drives, great long weekend. To manage expectations: - the stream behind is lovely and looks like a great place to explore but right now (late July 2023) the surrounding brush/trails are povergrown so tricky to access/see (i.e. with some work could be great swim hole/paths to wander) - pond was very pretty for kayaking, but the Canadian goose droppings were formidable - ensure you have good rubber-soled shoes/boots - basement rooms are really exactly as they look in the listing pics - AC worked downstairs but fans needed upstairs"

This lovely home is located in a quiet corner of the northern Berkshires. It is located just over a mile from beautiful Tannery Falls in the Savoy State forest. It is a good home base from which to do area hiking as well as day trips to area attractions in the Berkshires.
The house has a large combined living room and fully-equipped kitchen with cathedral ceilings. Both bedrooms look out on the woods - one with a queen bed and one with a double bed. The bedroom with the double bed has a screened in porch. The spacious bathroom has a stand-up shower and a 2-person jacuzzi tub.
There is a hiking trail and wetlands in the woods behind the house. The house is also located across from Starseed Healing Sanctuary and Holistic Retreat Center, which has a number of trails and interesting spots to visit such as a peace labyrinth.
For cold weather stays, please note that the primary source of heat is wood stove. Cord wood, fire starting materials and instructions are provided, but you would have to be comfortable operating the wood stove yourself. The house is very well insulated and gets great solar gain on sunny days, so while it may not be needed at all times, the stove is certainly needed some of the time during the winter and shoulder seasons. There are plug-in electric heaters in the bedrooms so you don't have to operate the stove during sleeping hours.

The owner was very kind and responsive when I reached out with questions before we started out on our drive to the location. There was a welcome book with all of the information on the home and it included information about the local attractions. The property is clean, the bed is comfortable and the views are breathtaking. There is no cell service ( not that is a bad thing with as much as we work) but the home has internet if it is something that you are in need of. I will be checking out the other homes on the property when we go back up to MA. "

This charming chalet is newly renovated, with 4 beds/2 baths/4 decks and stunning views that sleeps 10! Surrounded by mature growth pine trees, the property offers a perfect combination of privacy and ski-on/off access to Berkshire East. In the summer & fall, you have on-site access to the resort’s mountain biking/white water rafting/zip line/mountain coaster & aerial adventure park.

What sets StrautmanHaus apart is its unparalleled on-mountain location, providing ski-on/off access in winter and seamless access to summer adventures at Berkshire East. In winter, indulge in the thrill of skiing and snowboarding right from your doorstep, while summer brings a plethora of activities including mountain biking, whitewater rafting, zip-lining, mountain coaster rides, and more—all just steps away from your retreat.

The first floor offers a large entryway with two bedrooms (one with a queen-sized bed, one with a twin-sized bunk bed and a full-size futon) alongside a full bathroom. Ascending upstairs you will be welcomed to the main living area with a newly renovated kitchen with quartz countertops, full appliance suite with a gas range, three-seat counter bar, and a gas grill on the front deck. This open concept floor flows into the dining area and living area, with cozy features such as wood fireplace and back deck overlooking trees and a peaceful stream. This level also offers a large HD television with full channel access via Hulu, Bluetooth sound bar, and oversized dining table for family and friends. Off the kitchen is a newly renovated full bathroom.

The top floor has an additional two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and the other with a queen and a twin bed, each with private decks overlooking another layer of trees and nature.

The home is enveloped by greenery for privacy yet offers great proximity to downtown Charlemont for all your needs. Additional features in the home include a mini split system for cooling and heating in each bedroom. On the main floor, an in-house laundry center, a state-of-the-art Culligan water treatment system, large driveway fitting 4+ cars, and on-site access to Berkshire East Mountain Resort for biking/skiing/tubing/obstacle course/zip line/mountain coaster, etc.

The Space:
There are two floors in the Main Lodge. On the upper level there are two bedrooms and a bathroom; one bedroom, office, and bathroom on the first floor. This main house sits atop, and is locked-off from, the owner’s in-law apartment on the ground floor.

Guest Access:
There is plenty of parking, with a small roundabout in the driveway, and additional off-shoot spots as well.

The Neighborhood:
It’s a quiet neighborhood, with few neighbors sparsely located throughout the area. Yet a quick drive to downtown.

Other Things to Note:
No pets are allowed.

An outdoor recreation paradise at your door! We now have excellent cell service and internet as well. Suitable for larger gatherings of friends or family.

Rustic, hand built lodge situated on 400 acres. Expansive vistas, no neighbors in sight. The lodge has a commercial kitchen complete with utensils, dishes, pots, pans, etc. for groups. A large dining area with attached outdoor patio is surrounded by flowers and stone walls in the warmer months.

There are 15 miles of hiking, xc skiing, snowshoeing and mt. biking trails right on our property with a hundred miles of more trails nearby. And, we are 10 minutes away from downhill skiing at Berkshire East, and in summertime, whitewater kayaking, tubing and rafting on the Deerfield, zip lines, a downhill mountain bike park.

We call this place Stump Sprouts. New life from old roots. Once a working farm, we have built on the hard work of generations that came before us to create this lodge. A theme of sustainability defines this place. Hand built with timbers from the land ... including the furnishings! Old barn siding, century old farming implements and curios add to the decor. Large gardens provide us with produce year round. Solar panels provide more power than we consume. Ongoing forest management provides wood for our central heating system.

Guests provide their own sheets, blankets, pillows and towels. We have 10 sets of these items available at no charge but we require that you launder them and return them to the storage cabinet if you wish to use them.

Maximum occupancy is 20 persons. Guests should make other arrangements for their pets. 3 additional bedrooms and 2 extra bathrooms available 100 yards away. Please inquire.

The barn / rec room is filled with fun old-fashioned wooden games like Puck Hole (a cross between shuffleboard and corn hole), a precursor to Foosball, spindles, and a ping-pong table. And then there are miles of well-groomed trails to go cross-country skiing or snowshoeing on — you can easily rent either, for kids and adults! This feels like the perfect place for gathering with close family friends or a big family reunion (each of the 6 bedrooms has at least one bunk bed and one double bed), once we’re past COVID. It’s good to be aware that Hawley is a bit more remote, so you’re not super-close to restaurants or grocery stores — but if you plan ahead and bring your own groceries or stop to get some 30 miles away, the kitchen has everything you need, and the dining room/hall has tons of seating (6 tables!). Our family had a great time, and we’d love to return with more friends and family when it’s possible! Lloyd was incredibly friendly in giving us the welcome tour, while also respecting our privacy for the rest of our stay. Thanks so much!!"

The Owl Dorm room is a cozy garrett on the 2nd floor of our historic farmhouse, adjacent to the Woodside Wing. This rustic dorm-style room looks like it’s straight out of a storybook, with four wooden bunk beds adorned with charming mismatched quilts. Owl can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people, with storage drawers beneath the beds and a half-bathroom attached for guest’s convenience. Small windows, gentle lighting, slanted ceilings, and natural wooden floors and walls provide a warm, nest-like feel to this communal space. One lucky person gets the hand-carved owl bed frame! Guests can conveniently access all the Farmhouse amenities downstairs.

Built in 1794, this refurbished farmhouse sits on 7 acres on a secluded lane in one of the most charming towns in Western Massachusetts. With three full bedrooms, two full bathrooms, living room, dining room, den, utility room, and full back porch, this historic farmhouse offers both rustic charm and modern comforts, including a fully-equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Situated halfway between Greenfield and Williamstown, MA and on the border of Vermont, the house is steps away from over 500 acres of hiking trails. Guests also have access to Pelham Lake with a sandy beach and playground area, canoes, paddle boards and kayaking. The backyard is large and the back porch invites reading in rocking chairs or a hammock. A short 15-20 minutes away in Charlemont, Mass are two water rafting or zip-lining recreation offerings, or skiing or snowboarding in Berkshire East Mountain Resort. It is about an hour or so from various skiing resorts in Vermont.

If you want access to cultural events, the house is 30 minutes from Mass MOCA, the Clark Art Institute, historic Deerfield, Williamstown Theatre Festival in Massachusetts; and, the Marlboro Music Festival and Brattleboro or Bennington in Vermont. It is less than 2 hours to Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Tanglewood Summer Music Festival or Hancock Shaker Village.

The house includes a Peloton bike, an erg, and free weights. The Town Hall offers a smaller gym with a rower, elliptical and standing weight machines and is available 8-4 Monday-Thursday. The local library, down the street, hosts children’s activities on Wednesdays.

Sitting atop the former Chickley Alps, this magical home is nestled between a XC Ski resort and conservation land. The many decks overlook the 50 acre property, which piqued the interest of acclaimed children's author, Eric Carle to build an inspiring retreat in the 1970s. Sauna: Doctors reccommend no more than 15 - 20 minutes per session, please follow the posted guidelines as it pertains to your medical needs.

Mountaintop Location: As noted, this property is located atop a mountain. Particularly during the winter months, guests should plan on arriving via a capable all-wheel or 4x4 vehicle. The road is cared for by the town, but Hosts are not responsible for the guests arrival to the property. Hosts will have driveway plowed prior to guest arrival.

Unfenced water in yard: note we have a small koi pond in the yard. There is no fencing, please mind your step and keep watch of small children and pets.

Self Check In with Keypad: Guests can self check in via digital locks. Guests will be provided with unique code for their stay.

Orchard Guest House is a stand-alone building on the Rowe Center campus, tucked into the treeline on the hill and facing west. It overlooks our barn and main buildings, with the remnants of an apple orchard in the foreground. The house has four bedrooms and can sleep up to 7 people. There are 2 rooms with double beds, 1 room with two single beds, and 1 room with one single bed. The living room/kitchenette area is bright and homey with cathedral ceilings, great light, and adjustable panel blinds for sliding glass doors.
