Our dog had a great time running around the fenced in back yard and sunbathing on the porch. The house was cozy with great updates right near may restaurants and shops. We had a wonderful few days! It is located away from the boat traffic and boat wake waves, on a quiet cove open to the largest of the lakes bays. VERY nice swimming area for kids and adults, with shallow comfortable area for kids and deep are for grown-ups. It has the important things experienced visitors to our lake recognize.

Downstairs, you will find a fully equipped kitchen, full-sized fridge, dual-fuel stove (gas stove top/electric oven), dishwasher and apron farm sink. We have an open concept kitchen/dining/living room area which opens, through french doors, onto a large deck, just steps from the lake front. Enjoy the gas grill and picnic table for afternoon BBQs and sunsets for a lovely evening dinner party.

Bring your boat or jetski and tie up at our lakefront dock in front of the cottage. This lake is great for swimming, boating, water-skiing and fishing. Private lawn and water front. Sunny side of the lake. The cottage is close to "the Secret Spot",' (shallow area great for small children to play in the water). We live next door to the cottage. We live next door, if you need help with anything. Our boat is parked on the south side of the dock in front of our place, your boat, if you bring one, is docked on the right north side directly in front of your cottage.

Our area offers wonderful restaurants and grocers using locally produced food, Farmer's Markets (don't miss Litchfield's Saturday Farmer's Market!), the Gilson Cinema/Cafe, Antiquing, nearby fly-fishing, hiking, and biking. Stop in at a local farm for just picked corn or tomatoes, or an after dinner ice-cream cone.

For anyone up for a Berkshires experience, we are less than a one hour, country drive from Tanglewood, Shakespeare and Co Stockbridge, Great Barrington, Lenox, and the Outlets at Lenox.

During the summer, we request a minimum 7 day booking, Saturday to Saturday. Also, we cannot accommodate pets, due to potential allergies of renters. However, there is a highly respected kennel close to the other side of the lake.

Of course, it's great in the summer, but fall and winter offer their own special activities. Fall leaves, apple picking, hay rides and pumpkin patches in the country. Winter snow, skiing, flannel sheets and cozy fires. Our cottage can comfortably accommodate all seasons!

We are offering for rent a spacious 2 bedroom, sun-lit, 2-story, all-season townhome at the Lakeridge resort community in the CT foothills of the Berkshires.

The master bedroom has a 25’ ceiling, has a king-size bed and full bath en suite, plus a walk-in closet. The 2nd bedroom has a full bath and closet. Linens are included. A full kitchen with all dishes, pots and cutlery is right off of the dining area. The comfortable living room has a 40’ cathedral ceiling and includes a wood-burning fireplace.

The townhome is in a wooded, natural setting offering quiet and seclusion. The gated complex is on 235 acres with 24 hr. security affords recreation for the whole family, with 19 tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools, a recreation center with fitness center and game tables, hiking trails, horseback riding, playgrounds, putting greens and garden plots. Walk to the pond and go swimming off the sandy beach or fishing. Skiing, sledding and skating are available in the winter. There is a day camp and many other children’s activities. The community backs on to Burr Pond State Park with many hiking trails and a boat launch. Lakeridge is a managed community and the Amenities fee of $100 per person per month is paid to the Management Office.

Local attractions include excellent flea markets, antiquing, and farm stands are nearby, plus there is a Saturday farmers market in Torrington. It was clean as a whistle, the kitchen had every appliance and utensil one could possibly need, the water pressure was strong and it was very peaceful and quiet. The decor was lovely. Lakeridge is a wonderful community in Litchfield County, foothills of the Berkshires, with both outdoor and indoor pools and a swimming pond. It abuts Burr Pond State Park which has a beach and several hiking trails. You can read about Lakeridge on its website. Any questions we had were promptly answered and addressed by the property owner. We plan to stay here again. Do note that there is a long flight of outdoor stairs to the front door."

Stunning and exceptionally private log cabin retreat located in the center of 62 Acres of wooded land. The driveway is a half mile long to reach the house. Amazing property for peace and quiet, laughter, and making memories. Loaded with amenities, we put everything we could think to put in here! The owner stays here regularly and hosts dinners, classes, masterminds, and more. Stay in the middle of the forest with your group, while at the same time being close enough to civilization to get anything you need.

From the moment you step inside, you feel like you’re in a rustic cabin away from the hustle and bustle of the world. Our group of about 12 people had the perfect amount of space to sprawl out and also enjoy each other’s company. Every room was meticulously, clean, and had the proper amenities. David, our host, was very responsive with any questions we had about the property. The wraparound deck with gas fire pit was amazing for relaxing and star gazing. The kitchen has the perfect amount of space, and has just about everything you would need for any occasion. We really enjoyed the huge living room, and the downstairs recreation area. Good amount of games to play, billiards, etc… I even got a workout in in the fitness room that’s loaded with equipment. I can’t say enough good things about this home. I would love to walk all of the acreage it has also, so I will be booking another stay soon! Thank you SO much for the hospitality."

- "What a great location. The house is right across the street from the river, which has a great walking/biking path so you don't have to be on the street. There are 2-3 restaurants within a 5-minute walk as well as a small but well-stocked liquor store and some small shops. The house itself is very old but has been updated in many places, including what looks like a brand new kitchen and front porch. Overall we had a great visit and the host Carol was very easy to work with and helpful with our few questions."

The basement features a game area, cozy couch, and a unique queen bedroom. The living room shares breathtaking views of the lake with the minimalist dining room. As you sip freshly brewed coffee in the kitchen or breakfast nook, you can step out into the verdant garden. An expansive deck wraps the front of the house. A kidney pool with hot tub rests between the garage and abode. You will have sole access to the entire property sans garage room. Pool area recently renovated and lounge chairs and umbrella added.

The house is fully furnished with all necessary components. The kitchen is replete with cookware, dining ware, silverware, cutting boards, pots, pans, trays, 5 burner electric stove, microwave, large refrigerator with ice-maker, plenty of counter space to cook, bake, and serve culinary exquisiteness.

The living room boasts a large flatscreen tv, built in fireplace, and open floor plan. Tv includes Netflix, HBO, Criterion Channel. The dining room seats 10 and casts over the picturesque Lake McDonough, which you can also boat or swim in at the designated beach. The 400 thread count sheets adorn earn bed, with down pillows and cozy comforters. The downstairs game room features a large screen tv, foosball table, bar, and mini fridge. There is a washer and dryer and copious closet space.

The exterior has luscious gardens, sitting bench beneath a trellis, hiking trails in the backyard, and plenty of open deck space. A grill is right outside the breakfast nook. The highlight of the property consists of a pool with a built in hot tub and overlooks the lake. Ski Sundown is a local ski slope 4 minutes away.

There is a two car garage and off limits room above garage.
Guest access
You will have exclusive access to 3+ acres and the entire property sans the storage room above the garage. You can hike up the mountainside, sit in the pool, read in the garden, or just enjoy the zen-like experience.
Other things to note
The driveway is steep and curves to the right at the entrance. It was just paved and there are two garage spots, two spots in front of the garage, and one spot at the bottom.

There is access to lake by 3 minute drive. You can launch boats and canoes there. There is also a sandy beach section to swim in.

Ski sundown, the local skiing and snowboarding mountain is a 4 minute drive on the other side of the mountain.

- "Stayed for a long weekend. Pictures did not do this place justice! Great location. Spotless. Cozy. " - "We rented this home for my Birthday weekend. We lovingly nicknamed the trip our Momcation. Myself and 4 other moms had a relaxing weekend with no husbands or kids. This house was perfect! It was clean and beautiful (the views are absolutely amazing) the hot tub was on a timer so no need to figure it out! EVERYTHING that you can possibly need was provided! All linens, towels, toiletries (minus toothbrushes and toothpaste) The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you needed to cook! Great All Clad pots and pans, salt pepper, sugar, coffee filters, Paper Towels, sponges, soaps truly everything!!! It is remote and we had a fun visit from a juvenile black bear but she moved on after making my birthday super special with her presence I highly recommend this home. The only piece of advice i would give future guests is there are a lot of stair to the house and inside the home so anyone with mobility issues should be aware of that."

The space
We are located on Route 44 within walking distance of the center of town with its restaurants, shops, library, and the Farmington River! We are minutes from Ski Sundown, Peoples' State Forest, 1/2 hr. from Infinity Music Hall, and 1 hr. from Tanglewood.

We have 4 bedrooms for rent in the house, each with private bath. Guests share the well-equipped kitchen and dining room. Each bedroom has a t.v.

There is assigned parking in the rear of the house. Please note: Suite 4 is on the 3rd floor, and there are stairs up to the front porch.

During your stay
Jay and I live in an apartment on the property and are easily available by phone, if not in person, for questions and information about the area. We have our own entrance to the house.

Other things to note
New Hartford is a lovely little country town with year-round outdoor recreational activities - skiing, fishing, kayaking, biking, hiking, swimming. The Farmington River is across the street, and West Hill Lake is a 10 minute drive away. Access to the Farmington River Bike Trail is 10 minutes away in Collinsville/Burlington.

There is a State boat launch located at 3 Laurel Passway which is off Perkins Road, Barkhamsted.

Directions: Route 44, south on West Hill Lake Road, take first right (Perkins Road) to launch.

Regulations:
Boating: 8hp limit, 6mph limit between sunset and sunrise. 15mph maximum speed limit during daytime. No water-skiing or jet skis. You can bring your Kayaks, sail boats, paddle boats and paddle boards.

Escape from it all at West Hill Too where you can walk to the beach or take a short drive to go skiing. Two bedrooms in a cozy year-round cottage make the perfect escape for a couple or small family.

The space
600 square foot single level ranch style cottage situated in the West Hill neighborhood section of New Hartford. We have deeded beach rights into the LAPOA beach community. A short walk or drive gives you access to the most private and coveted beach on West Hill Lake. Enjoy our large yard if you want to hang out at home. Close to retail, dining options, gorgeous mountains and hills roads if you want to go explore for the afternoon. The cottage has two bedrooms - one master with a queen bed, and a second bedroom with two twin beds, one of which has a trundle bed. The sofa in the living room is also a sleeper sofa! We want you to be comfortable during your stay.

We have a well and a septic. We ask that you be mindful of your water consumption and not flush anything you wouldn’t ordinarily flush down the toilet, including flushable wipes.

Guests have access to the entire home. Guests must walk up an exterior staircase to access the front door from the driveway. The bedrooms are located on the second floor up one flight of stairs.

Stunning, exceptionally private log cabin located in the center of 62 acres of wooded land. The half mile driveway leads to our cabin that is loaded with amenities, and everything we could think of for peace and quiet, laughter, and making memories. The owner stays here regularly and hosts dinners, classes, masterminds, and more.

The space
This is a 4 bedroom 4 bathroom and the game room can be used as a 5th bedroom. Feel free to enjoy all of the amenities. There are also trails on the property and a brook. Feel free to explore. We can sleep a maximum of 23 people but the property is most comfortable with 10-12 guests. Additional linens and bedding are available for the pull out couched upon request before you check-in.

Guest access
Guests can access the entire home and all of the grounds.

Other things to note
When coming in, please do not park in front of the dumpsters or block them at any time.
We also offer multiple additional services for an additional charge. We supply vehicles, tables, chairs and linens, to learn more, feel free to message us!

Checkout Information:

When you depart, please do not strip the beds of their sheets. Leave the beds unmade. Please place all used towels and washcloths on the floor. We do not have a rule about starting the dishwasher before you leave, but if you do, our cleaning team greatly appreciates it.. We also ask that you put any garbage and recycling in the trash bin. Dumpster company does not allow any recyclables in plastic garbage bags. Please but items directly into recycling

House rules:

· No dogs or other pets.
· No hunting or shooting.
· Do not harass the wildlife.
· No additional amplified music allowed, the inside\outdoor sound system is based in the bar area and is available for your use.
· Do not move Baloo, dining table, grill, fire table, antiques, taxidermy, other decorations, or the pool table.
· Rinse dishes before loading the dishwasher
· Place empty propane tanks to the side of the sliders
· Do not attempt to use the tractor
· Close and lock all windows and doors.
· Do not leave windows or doors open when the A/C is in use
· Please turn down the hot tub temperature to 95 degrees when finished, put the cover on and latch when you are done using it
· No food in the hot tub

Please note that some GPS’s do not take you to the driveway. If you’ve reached Behrens Rd, you’ve gone too far! Look for 150 on the mail box.
