- "We stayed for a few days with our english bulldog. We loved the theater room and the stream running through the backyard. Our dog had a great time running around the fenced in back yard and sunbathing on the porch. The house was cozy with great updates right near may restaurants and shops. We had a wonderful few days! Only regret is we didn't use the awesome outdoor grill and patio area!" - "Our four children chose The Glynn Inn over a few other VRBO options we gave them for an end-of-summer 4 night get away. They were sold on the waterfalls and movie theatre. We had a wonderful time. There was a lot of rain before our trip so the waterfalls were rushing for our whole trip. The kids, armed with nets, caught minnows and frogs every morning. They loved the game room, table tennis in the yard, and settled down for a movie each night in the awesome theatre. The house had everything we needed and more. The beds were super comfy and there was no shortage of extra blankets to get cozy in the living room or theatre. We found a few places to eat in the area including Dish and Dat, The Little Oak Cafe, among others. We visited Eggs farm (lovely!!!), Roaring Brook Nature Center (very informative), and had a great time exploring Farmington Nature Trail. We would absolutely recommend this home!"

Charming, traditional cottage design fully renovated and modernized, located among the very best of locations at Highland Lake.
If you have rented cottages before at Highland Lake, you know that location on the lake makes a big difference. Our cottage is located on the favored east side of the lake, with best sunshine. It is located away from the boat traffic and boat wake waves, on a quiet cove open to the largest of the lakes bays. VERY nice swimming area for kids and adults, with shallow comfortable area for kids and deep are for grown-ups. It has the important things experienced visitors to our lake recognize.
If you are aesthetically minded, if you are looking for something particularly charming and special, you will love this Victorian era waterfront cottage totally restored from the ground up in 2016. If you are seeking a very nice spot on the lake, you will love this property. Canoe, Kayak, Sunfish Sailboat, and more to enjoy.
It is a Victorian beauty, but fully restored in 2016 to high standards. Toasty warm in winter with lower level radiant heated floor, air conditioned for summer.
Fully equipped kitchen, open-concept. We re-purposed original and vintage materials for this loved Victorian era cottage during our restoration. Every window and door has a story. Just ask us!
Easy to use gas fireplace. Great for crisp mornings.
Bedrooms include: one queen, one full and 2 bunks. Wake up in the queen and full bedrooms to sunrise on the lake. Also upstairs, is a comfortable reading area and desk, a full bathroom with a 2 person, fully tiled shower, while the downstairs bath has a new claw foot soaking tub.
Downstairs, you will find a fully equipped kitchen, full-sized fridge, dual-fuel stove (gas stove top/electric oven), dishwasher and apron farm sink. Guests can dine on the dining table or at the kitchen peninsula. We have an open concept kitchen/dining/living room area which opens, through french doors, onto a large deck, just steps from the lake front. Enjoy the gas grill and picnic table for afternoon BBQs and sunsets for a lovely evening dinner party.
Bring your boat or jetski and tie up at our lakefront dock in front of the cottage. This lake is great for swimming, boating, water-skiing and fishing. Private lawn and water front. Sunny side of the lake. The cottage is close to "the Secret Spot",' (shallow area great for small children to play in the water). We live next door to the cottage. We live next door, if you need help with anything. Our boat is parked on the south side of the dock in front of our place, your boat, if you bring one, is docked on the right north side directly in front of your cottage.
Our area offers wonderful restaurants and grocers using locally produced food, Farmer's Markets (don't miss Litchfield's Saturday Farmer's Market!), the Gilson Cinema/Cafe, Antiquing, nearby fly-fishing, hiking, and biking. Stop in at a local farm for just picked corn or tomatoes, or an after dinner ice-cream cone.
For anyone up for a Berkshires experience, we are less than a one hour, country drive from Tanglewood, Shakespeare and Co Stockbridge, Great Barrington, Lenox, and the Outlets at Lenox.
During the summer, we request a minimum 7 day booking, Saturday to Saturday. Also, we cannot accommodate pets, due to potential allergies of renters. However, there is a highly respected kennel close to the other side of the lake.
Of course, it's great in the summer, but fall and winter offer their own special activities. Fall leaves, apple picking, hay rides and pumpkin patches in the country. Winter snow, skiing, flannel sheets and cozy fires. Our cottage can comfortably accommodate all seasons!
- "Weather didn’t cooperate much, but we still had a beautiful week at the lake. When it was raining, we played games. Highly recommend." - "Clean, cute and cozy. As advertised. Only drawbacks were the weather and fish weren’t biting." - "My sister and our two cousins rented this cottage for the week and thoroughly enjoyed it. House was very clean and lovely. Kayaking and hiking were on the to do list and was great fun. We would all highly recommend a stay here."

Was great to bring the dog along. Kayaks were great. Perfect location!" - "Great little place to just get away and relax. Would definitely go back" - "We loved it. It's a real wood cabin - you don't see many of those in Connecticut, so this was pretty novel for us. It's got all the modern amenities though - internet, TV, etc. Clean and great for a small family. We had 2 adults and 2 kids. Nice bed for adults, kids had the air mattress in the living room and they loved "camping". We would stay again."

We plan on returning when visiting family again." - "This is without a doubt the nicest rental property that I have stayed at. First of all, it was newly constructed and was pristine. Everything was top notch and high quality. The bathroom was so well done with beautiful tile, wooden floors throughout the rest of the apartment, the high quality kitchen cabinets and the very very comfortable bed. In addition, it was absolutely spotless! It provided us with everything that we needed. The location was perfect for us because we have family close by and in Boston. It was located in downtown Collinsville, so you can easily access the quaint stores, the restaurants, the walking/biking trail and the canoe/kayak rental place. The airport is an easy ride away as are the major highways. You can rest assured that this apartment looks exactly as it is portrayed in the pictures on the Vrbo website. - "My close friends and some family enjoyed a wonderful staycation at Serenity Woods! This property really lives up to its name. From the moment you step inside, you feel like you’re in a rustic cabin away from the hustle and bustle of the world. Our group of about 12 people had the perfect amount of space to sprawl out and also enjoy each other’s company. Every room was meticulously, clean, and had the proper amenities. David, our host, was very responsive with any questions we had about the property. The wraparound deck with gas fire pit was amazing for relaxing and star gazing. The kitchen has the perfect amount of space, and has just about everything you would need for any occasion. We really enjoyed the huge living room, and the downstairs recreation area. Good amount of games to play, billiards, etc… I even got a workout in in the fitness room that’s loaded with equipment. I can’t say enough good things about this home. I would love to walk all of the acreage it has also, so I will be booking another stay soon! Thank you SO much for the hospitality."

- "What a great location. The house is right across the street from the river, which has a great walking/biking path so you don't have to be on the street. There are 2-3 restaurants within a 5-minute walk as well as a small but well-stocked liquor store and some small shops. The house itself is very old but has been updated in many places, including what looks like a brand new kitchen and front porch. Overall we had a great visit and the host Carol was very easy to work with and helpful with our few questions."
