We are back! This tall brick home was built in 1888 and has old charm with modern features. The location is wonderful as we are less than a 10 minute walk to the downtown restaurants and a 10 minute walk to the stadium. Park your car in the driveway and you won't need to use it for the weekend. There is a big front porch with rockers and table/chairs for your meals outside as well as a patio option in the back garden. We have a huge gourmet kitchen with marble counters and a big island for entertaining. Big TV, big sofa. All mattresses and bedding are NEW and super comfortable for a great night's sleep. Ann Arbor's downtown is back with great energy. You are 2 blocks off Main Street where they have shut down traffic for restaurants and pedestrians on the weekend.

The kitchen offers ample space for cooking, granite countertops, basic cooking supplies, and an attached island with stools. Continuing through the kitchen you'll find a dining room table with a walk-out balcony. There’s a washer/dryer in the unit for guests to use.

The neighborhood is lined with old-growth trees and our property sits on a quiet secluded lot where it's not uncommon to see hummingbirds, chipmunks, and other pleasures of nature throughout the stay.

There’s a park at the end of the street and many others within walking distance too! The property is located under a mile from many of the restaurants on Main St.

If you’re on a work trip, there’s a desk available for you to plug in and set up shop.

Guest access
My husband and I live downstairs. We are retired and travel frequently, but when we are away, our adult child, who lives nearby, will be available if needed.
We usually use our side entrance off the driveway and you enter through the front entrance off the porch into the front hallway and then through another door, but on occasion we also may enter from the front porch. The front hallway leads to both units. The two units are separate with individual locking doors. Laundry room in basement is shared. Air conditioning and heating are run through central HVAC system with high quality, special air filter and new, top of the line whole house air purifier system professionally installed. Plus additional powerful air conditioner if you wish even cooler temps.
Other things to note
We have been Super Hosts for years, but infrequently listed this apartment, so please read reviews from previous guests we have hosted in our home in other listings to give you some idea who we are and how well we treat others.
We have usually rented it by word of mouth for a yearly lease and had a waiting list but, it has recently become available as our wonderful tenants are moving to DC after Christmas. Message me if you want to add earlier dates.

This charming, historic home has been converted into 2 apartments on 2 different levels. The shared laundry is located in the basement. Each apartment has a private entrance and is not shared with other guests.

Apartment 2 is located on the second floor, up one flight of stairs. The bedroom has 1 premium queen-sized bed and one double-sized futon in the living room. Total apartment sq ft of around 700.

There is a full-sized living room and kitchen. One full bathroom with a bathtub. A table and 2 chairs is provided and suitable for dining and computer work. The kitchen includes a stove/oven, microwave, fridge, French press coffee maker, dishes/silverware, and pots/pans for you to use during your stay. The basics for cooking simple meals are all provided for you!

In the winter months, the apartment is heated by a radiator system. Please be careful to avoid touching the baseboard heaters when they are turned on and keep any flammable materials away from the heaters. You have full control over the heaters from a central thermostat.

There is laundry in the basement level, available for use throughout your stay. Please be respectful and do not utilize laundry services during the nighttime and early morning hours. The machines are free.

On-street parking is available with a parking permit. Most guests enjoy leaving their car parked throughout their stay and exploring the area on foot.

We have a Roku and display, and wireless internet is available. The house has been recently upgraded with central air conditioning and a new furnace.

With planning with us, you can park up to 2 cars in the shared driveway.

Once In A Blue Moon is a first floor apartment in a two story house located in the charming Old West Side of Ann Arbor. Guests of Once In A Blue will have a private entrance and exit. There is a second floor apartment above this unit. We're 2 blocks from the Michigan Football Stadium and 5 blocks from downtown Ann Arbor. Many excellent restaurants, bars, and stores all within 5-10 minute walk. We're always happy to help with suggestions of things to do while in Ann Arbor. ~ Happy Travels! : )

Welcome to Once In A Blue Moon, a charming first-floor apartment in a beautifully preserved 1920s home located just a few blocks from vibrant downtown Ann Arbor. This historic home is shared with City Gem, the second-floor apartment above. Each unit has its own private entrance, exit, and patio space, ensuring comfort and privacy for all guests.

Located in the heart of the Old West Side, you'll be within walking distance to popular bars, shops, restaurants, and have easy access to public transportation—making this the perfect home base for exploring the city.

Inside, the apartment features:

Our home is a two story 1920's historic home. The 1st and 2nd floors are separate apartments each with a private entrance and private patios. All Once In A Blue guests will have access to the 1st floor apartment only. We have a convenient lock box on the door for easy exit. We typically meet guests for check-in.

Other things to note
WE HAVE A 3 NIGHT MINIMUM STAY! During football games we will be parking our yard and driveway for fans attending the game. We will start parking the yard 2 hours before the start of the game. NO PRE-GAME OR TAILGATE PARTIES ALLOWED!

The space
Private second story studio located in the Old West Side neighborhood. 3 blocks from Main Street, easy walking distance to UM campus and football stadium.

The space has lots of natural light with blackout shades to use as needed. It is a quiet, peaceful space located at the rear of our driveway and back yard.

Entering the space, guests will walk up one flight of stairs to a hallway. Off the hallway is a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a separate living space with fold out couch (extends to full-size), and a full bathroom with shower and heated towel rack. Visitors can enjoy a desk workspace with office chair (monitor & connections provided upon request). Wall-mounted TV with Apple TV is available, including YouTubeTV and select streaming services. Linens, towels and toiletries are provided. There is also a mini-fridge and coffee supplies.

Guest access
The space is located above our detached garage. The entrance to the apartment is located to the side of the garage. Guests will have exclusive access to the space via keyless entry - you will be provided with a custom temporary pass code for entrance using the door’s smart lock.

Other things to note
We ask that you treat this space with respect - in addition to being used by friends and family during visits, it is also used as our office space on a regular basis. Though private and separate, this apartment is still part of our home. Please treat it respectfully during your stay, and be considerate of noise levels (especially when outside, exiting or entering).
