The deck is a perfect spot to watch the boats go by. Take the boat out for a cruise down the Huron River and 6 adjoining Lakes. It's so much fun to explore the lakes, and jumping off the pontoon (or your own boat) to swim, is a great way to cool off and relax. (Pontoon included, during summer season and three kayaks.)
Children will enjoy a sandy area to play near the lake. We have life jackets, lawn games and sand toys for your use too. This is a great place for grandparents who want a special vacation homey rental to look forward to returning to year after year!

- "My husband and I loved this property with so many extras to enjoy. It was immaculately clean and welcoming. The house has wood floors, granite counters, quality construction and furnishings. The toys, games, canoe and kayaks were fun and well organized and stored. Even the life jackets were clean and hung to keep dry. The yard and deck are huge, everything as presented on Vrbo. Some of our family came for a day-long picnic. A good time was had by all with plenty of room and activities. The owner was easy to contact and replied in minutes. He even called during our stay to make sure everything was in order. Thank-you Robert for everything!"

- "Great" - "The cottage was perfect for our girls' trip! The place was very clean and well appointed. We used one of the kayaks along with a large raft float we brought, and we had some marvelous time out on the lake. Unfortunately we did not have a chance to use the bikes, though we would have liked to. Having the grill and the firepit were wonderful and convenient. It did rain during our trip, but we were able to head out for some shopping in Howell and Brighton and be back when the sun came out. "

Looking for a secluded Up North getaway without the drive? A private lakefront retreat with beautiful sunsets? A nice sandy/stone beach perfect for children? Look no further! Bass Lake Manor provides all of this and more. Located next to Strawberry Lake and on Bass Lake, this home has plenty of amenities in a relaxing environment. Bass Lake is a motorized lake, but only allows pontoons due to its beautiful sandbars. We recommend water shoes while exploring sandbars (fresh water clam shells are plentiful in this healthy lake). Don't let the shallows fool you however, it is also 70ft deep and offers amazing fishing/swimming! Bring your paddle boards and kayaks, because this lake is a real treat to explore. There is another lake connected through a wooded river to discover! Also, the Huron River Chain of Lakes has an access point 4 miles away. If you are looking for a hiking or mountain biking adventure, there are two state parks located nearby that offer miles of beautiful trails. Zukey Lake's Decktop Tavern is a mile away, and there is plenty of incredible dining options in Brighton (20 minutes north) and Ann Arbor (30 minutes south). If cooking at home is more your style, there is a fully loaded kitchen at your disposal as well as a blackstone propane grill. The patio features patio furniture and a bonfire pit. Bass Lake Manor sleeps up to 9 comfortably, and the main floor is a completely open space for spending time with your family. Don't miss your chance to explore the woods and water in beautiful Lakeland Michigan, we look forward to hosting you!

We loved it!" - "This getaway was perfect for what we were looking for. It was very quiet & peaceful. The water was like glass most of our stay - extremely clear and calm - allowing us to enjoy the kayaks and pontoon which is like new. We also appreciated the proximity to so many trails, restaurants, & grocery stores. The host was very responsive and met us briefly upon arrival to show us around. This comfortable lakeside home has front and backyard areas. There is a bird feeder frequented by songbirds on one side and a gorgeous view of the lake on the other. The back patio has a table and chairs. There is also a fire pit with loveseat by the water. There is a neighboring house close to the left and untouched property to the right which gives the cottage the feel of being more remote in nature, even as it is among the other lake houses.
Inside, you’ll step into the open concept living area with a kitchen, dining table, breakfast nook, and two couches framing the sliding window doors that open to the lake. To the left of the living area is the entrance to the first bedroom with two queen beds and a large window looking out over the lake. The spacious attached bathroom with heated floors has a walk-in closet turned nursery. On the other side of home, through the kitchen, you’ll find the other bathroom and bedrooms with a queen bedroom overlooking the lake and a bunk room for the kids.

- "Wonderful owners, great space for our reunion. Thank you for a memorable time! We all adored it." - "From our communication with the host (Renee) prior to the trip, the welcome tour, and the amazing stay…this trip was perfect for our large family! The home was better than advertised. There was plenty of space to gather all together and to each have our own space, as well. We spent more time at the house than expected because it was so nice. The house had all the amenities but we would ever need to make ourselves at home for a long weekend and more. The property was gorgeous and well cared for, too. We had a wonderful time and look forward to a return trip! Thank you!"

We have a zero-tolerance policy for this. We have noise sensors that alert us if decibel levels pass a certain threshold, and we have unfortunately had to ask guests to leave for violating this rule. Being a good neighbor of the city and the block we are on is very important to us.
We have sensors to detect indoor smoking (nicotine and marijuana) and have an automatic $750 fine for violations, and have also had to ask guests to leave early for violating this rule.

The Lakehouse is on a peninsula with water on 3 sides, a private Sandy beach on the no wake side - walkout lower level. Completely renovated, in 2024, fresh, modern, open concept.
Down the street is Main Street Hell , Michigan with shops, pubs, miniature golf and canoe rentals . Ann Arbor is 22 miles away, 30 minute drive.
In addition to the master bedroom with a queen, there is an extra large bedroom with 2 bunk beds (doubles on bottom, twin on top with ladders).
Also a large basement room with tv and fireplace, 2 blow up queen mattresses with new cotton sheets and comforters and blankets.
- "The location is beautifully settled on a wooded penninsula with water on three three sides and excellent view of the lake. Almost like being on a boat viewing the water from the expansive Deck. Multiple sitting locations from the beach on the bayside for the young ones to the main deck on the channel side and lake side on the water with both a gas fire pit and a wood burning fire pit. We spent time on a roofed deck area just above the water which we found delightful. The home has been very tastefully redecorated and was most comfortable for us and our visiting children and grand children along with other family members during our stay. We enjoyed the all sports lake and using our paddle boards and jet skis to travel the "chain-of-lakes" made up of 9 lakes that are available to reach from Hiland Lake via picturesque channels. The owner of the home was delightful to work with and most attentive to questions. We highly recommend the experience and it was a month that went by far too quickly! "
