The space

When you arrive you will stay out if the Oklahoma elements with covered parking for 4 vehicles (and space for more). As you head in the door you will see a storm shelter for your safety just steps from the back porch. The great wrap around porch is complete with rocking chairs, a propane fire pit, and a hot tub! Once inside you will find three bedrooms, three baths, dining room, kitchen, and pool table. The master bedroom includes a king sized bed, two closets, and couch with queen fold out. The master bedroom also has an on-suite bathroom with stand up shower and a jet tub to help you relax after your day of visiting Pawhuska.

This great space sleeps up to 14 comfortably in one king, three queen-beds, one queen sofa sleeper, one full-size pullout, twin bed, and two roll-a-ways. Downstairs there is a handicap accessible bathroom, beautiful dining room, pool table, and spacious living room with big screen TV.

Guests will have access to the storm shelter, hot tub, pool table, full kitchen, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, dishes (must be washed after use), WIFI, and cable.

A spacious, comfortable house in a quiet neighborhood for those visiting or working in Pawhuska. Just half a mile from the Mercantile and the rest of downtown Pawhuska and a few blocks from the Osage Nation campus and Tribal Museum. Central air and heat downstairs and hotel-style mini-splits upstairs plus comfortable furnishings make this a great place to relax and rest. (New back deck and exterior paint in March 2024 and new interior paint downstairs coming early August 2024).

The space
We have owned this home for over a decade and have worked slowly but surely to make it comfortable for our family of six when we get a chance to visit. The renovations we have done, including exterior paint (3/24), interior paint (coming 8/24), new deck, new carpet, HVAC, electric, kitchen appliances, and plumbing have been done to last. We've added new beds as we've added kids and done our best to make this our home away from home.

The large upstairs (see photos) has a queen bed, twin bed, sofa bed, and a bathroom with a bathtub. Upstairs is heated and cooled separately from the downstairs with hotel-style mini-split units (plus a manually-operated gas stove that can be used if power goes out or for atmosphere). The kitchenette upstairs will have a small refrigerator and microwave (August 2024). The space is clean, and dozens of guests have stayed up there comfortably, but it is on the rustic side compared to downstairs. As of April 2024, the stairway leading to the upper floor can be accessed via outside stairs from the back deck.

Other things to note
We listed our house on Airbnb because we had unused space available and thought that people visiting Pawhuska might appreciate having our house as an option among other places to stay. We are not like some other places in town that are essentially bed and breakfast properties whose owners use Airbnb as a booking service. Our focus is to make our house comfortable, keep it clean, and offer it at an attractive price to travelers looking for a place to stay. I remember looking over our house in August, 2017 and thinking that if I added a few doilies and knickknacks, I could list it on Airbnb. Then I realized that a full makeover we couldn’t afford would be required to turn our house into something that looked like the B&Bs I have stayed in around the world. So I decided to skip the doilies, get the house cleaned from top to bottom, and list it. That’s worked out for us and hundreds of guests so far. We love our house and it’s quirky comforts and hope our guests will, as well. Those seeking more of a showcase might want to reserve one of the other local properties.

Our house was built in 1925. Though we have updated many parts of it, the underlying structure remains an older house with some features that will eventually be updated, but require more that we can do for now. We mention this because we know that looking closely at the house reveals things that need attention that we haven't gotten to yet. Two unavoidable truths about old houses are that the to-do list never gets completed and...dust never sleeps and always seems to multiply when you are doing improvements.

Two more notes:

—We do our best to keep the kitchen stocked with basics that guests need to cook and eat their own meals, including pots, pans, utensils, tableware, an array of gadgets, and salt and pepper. Between us and our guests, we also usually have basic spices and oddly-stocked ingredients that guests are welcome to use. We can’t keep track of everything, though, so sometimes we run out of the basics or lose crucial things to breakage. If a guest is staying more than one night, we’ll do our best to replace things that are missing if a guest lets us know it's needed. We also appreciate hearing from guests if we are running out of something important.

—Pawhuska tap water is safe to drink, but those who are accustomed to really good tap water might not find it as tasty as what they are accustomed to. We have a Brita pitcher to filter drinking water and try to keep bottles of water available in the kitchen closet, as well.

The Haven on the Hill is a quiet space in a wonderful neighborhood very near downtown Pawhuska and the Pioneer Woman Mercantile. It is wheelchair accessible with wide doors and a walk-in shower with a bench. It is rustic on the inside through a complete remodel. With 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms it can allow 6 or more people plenty of room to be comfortable. Come stay with us!

Our recently remodeled guest house is nestled in the heart of Osage County countryside, all while being located less than 10 minutes from downtown Pawhuska. We allow pets and provide amenities for them but request that upon booking you send a short video of your pooch responding when being called as well as sitting upon command, we want to make sure they have good manners :)

Other things to note
If you are planning on bringing three guests, be aware that the sleeping options are a queen bed with an occupancy of two as well as a fold down futon with an occupancy of one. Although a reservation with three adults is entirely possible, two adults and one child is an easier fit. That being said, we have hosted reservations of three adults who thoroughly enjoyed their time here! Also, if you need bedding for the futon with a reservation of two, please let us know and we will have it available for you.

The Cressy Boarding House is a charming, well-appointed home on Main Street in Pawhuska, OK. Just a few blocks from the Pioneer Woman's Mercantile, it is perfect for groups of friends or families. Bright, elegant, and sparkling clean, it will quickly become your home away from home.

The space
The Cressy has large living spaces, including a living room, dining room, kitchen and game room, all flowing one to another in an open floor plan.

The Cressy is about five blocks from the Pioneer Woman's Mercantile. On busy days in Pawhuska, The Cressy's space to park four cars will be handy and quite needed. Just a quick walk down Main Street will bring you to all of the great places and spaces of Pawhuska.

Comfortable accommodations have been made for six people, and ample closet space allows for clothing to be hung and stowed away.

The game room is a perfect space for gatherings of friends. The pool table, card table, and collection of board games promise hours of entertainment. The televisions are equipped with DIRECTV and we offer a high speed WiFi connection.

The large kitchen is well-stocked with pots, pans, dishes, and utensils, and is quite suitable for preparing a home cooked meal.

While we do not serve breakfast (we figure you'll head on over to the Merc, anyway), but we do supply coffee for your morning caffeine fix.

For more caffeine, fortunately, The Cressy is located next door to Handy's store, whose fountain pop is touted as the "Best Soda in Pawhuska." We would argue it's the best in the county. From the outside, the StrikeAxe Tiny Cabin may seem unassuming—but step inside, and you’ll be greeted by an unexpected surprise: a wall of exceptionally large windows that flood the space with natural light and offer breathtaking views of the lush backyard. The windows, strategically placed along the backside of the cabin, create a sense of openness and connection to the outdoors that’s rare in such a small space.

This beautiful 2,800 sq ft farmhouse is great for large groups, or is great for a romantic get a way for two. It's located only a few short blocks from The Pioneer Woman's Mercantile in a great neighborhood. Play a game of pool, a game of foosball, soak in the master tub, or relax around the fire pit on the wrap around porch. Your vehicles will stay safe under covered parking. This home is where Ree’s film crew stays while filming the Pioneer Woman. You won't be disappointed in this rental.

The space
When you arrive you will stay out if the Oklahoma elements with covered parking for 4 vehicles (and space for more). As you head in the door you will see a storm shelter for your safety just steps from the back porch. The great wrap around porch is complete with chairs, a propane fire pit, and a hot tub! Once inside you will find three bedrooms (all upstairs), three bathrooms, dining room, kitchen, pool table, foosball table, and a large sectional in the spacious living room. Upstairs is where you will find all of the bedrooms. The master bedroom includes a king size bed, two closets, and couch with queen fold out bed. The master bedroom also has an on-suite bathroom with stand up shower and a jet tub to help you relax after your day of visiting Pawhuska. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and twin size bed. The third bedroom has two queen size beds. There is a bathroom at the top of the stairs for the second and third bedrooms to share. Downstairs there is a handicap accessible bathroom, beautiful dining room, pool table, and spacious living room with big screen tv.

All bedrooms are upstairs. We do have two roll-a-way beds that can be set up either upstairs or downstairs, but there is no true bedroom downstairs. The washer and dryer can be accessed by guests, but you will need to bring your own laundry soap. The coffee pot is a standard coffee pot. There are coffee filters provided, but you will need to bring your own coffee.

**Please be sure to put the correct number of guests BEFORE booking! The Flamingo's Nest is set up to be charged based on how many guests are coming. By putting the correct number of guests before you book, you will be able to see the accurate price breakdown. You can change the number of guests on your reservation anytime up until the day of check-in.

Both bedrooms have king sized beds with bedside tables and large dresser. Walk in closet both have extra blanket and pillow. There is an iron and ironing board in the west bedroom closet. The bathroom has full tub/ shower unit with handheld shower head.

The Lodge at Taylor Ranch is home to two of Oklahoma's premiere disc golf courses, but we offer more than just disc golf! Our rustic, yet cozy cabin sits just above the water! In the winter you can snuggle up next to the fireplace or in the summer you can jump off the dock and go swimming! We are 6 miles away from The Mercantile (10 minute drive). We have hosted many Weddings, Parties, Disc Golf Tournaments, Retreats, Boy Scout Camp-outs, Fishing Derbies, etc! We also have an RV Park as well!

There is over 200 acres of land with creeks, ponds, chickens, horses, Disc Golf, hiking, etc! Please feel free to go exploring, bring your mountain bikes, fishing or even bring your horses for trail riding!

No fireworks or firearms are permitted on the property.

We take Covid 19 very seriously. Before your arrival we deep clean the cabin before each stay. All linens are washed in disinfectant and all linens are changed with each guest. All counters, toilet, shower, sinks, door handles, light switches, tv remotes, etc are wiped down with clorox.

Located on the 2nd floor of the historic FG Hill building constructed in 1912, completely remodeled to include spacious rooms, high ceilings, original wood floors, full kitchen, dining room, screened back porch, and private backyard area with fire pit. Guests have occupancy of the entire loft space with private entrance and a perfect view of downtown Pawhuska and Kihekah Street.

The space
The 2nd floor of the historic FG Hill building in Pawhuska has been transformed into a unique loft experience. Guests who also want to host a larger event can inquire about renting the downstairs space which is ideal for a larger gathering or party.

Guest access
Guests have a private entrance and access to the entire loft space during their stay. Rental includes two bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, screened back porch, and private backyard area with firepit.

Other things to note
Little Rain Song Loft is located on the 2nd floor with a staircase leading to the front door. Guests must be able to carry luggage and belongings up the stairs and generally manage the stairs during their stay.

Postcard Place is a 3-bedroom (1 bath) home conveniently located near the Mercantile in Pawhuska. Our home is thoroughly cleaned, has comfy beds, a well-stocked kitchen, stylish decor, and plenty of room to relax and unwind.

We have thought of everything you'll need, including a coffee bar, extra charging cords, bathroom amenities, fans, cable tv, distilled water (for C-PAPS), throw blankets, and more!

Note: Postcard Place is not suitable for more than 5 guests, smokers, pets, or infants.

The space
Conveniently located right in Pawhuska and just a 2 ½ minute drive from The Pioneer Woman Mercantile and 10 minutes from the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve, Postcard Place is a craftsman-style brick home built in the early 1900s.

Our home has an updated, open, and airy kitchen/dining area, a comfy living room, and a sunny front room that is perfect for coffee sipping or reading. Guests often compliment our decor which includes modern farmhouse goods along with a few antiques from our grandparents.

There are three bedrooms (king, queen, and two XL twin beds) that all have luxurious bedding, ceiling fans, and extra pillows/throws/bed coverings.

While there is just one bathroom, we've equipped two of the bedrooms with spaces to get ready (i.e. desk, mirror, make-up mirror, hair dryer, etc.). The bedrooms do not have TVs, but there is a Smart TV in the living room.

There are two outdoor spaces for you to enjoy during your stay. Our covered front porch has two gliders and extra folding chairs. The back deck has a small table and chairs and a gas grill with grilling tools/accessories.

Light fixtures and cupboards are labeled for your convenience and lots of open shelving helps you easily find what you need.

We have great neighbors who help us with the house and are available when we are not.

Our hope is that you’ll make yourself at home at Postcard Place and relax, stay, and enjoy creating lasting memories at this special place.

Please read through all the house rules before booking, so we're all on the same page! As a reminder, there is no smoking/vaping allowed anywhere inside OR outside on our property and our home is not suitable for pets of any kind. We list our home as "not suitable for children" because we have antiques, open shelving, all white linens, and the fact that we do not have outlet covers, a crib, or other infant/child amenities.

We want you to rest assured, knowing that Postcard Place has been cleaned and sanitized before you arrived. In addition, to reduce the risk of any illness:

- A REME Halo whole-house UV air purification system has been installed.
- High-touch surfaces like doorknobs, light switches, handles, bed frames, remote controls, etc. are cleaned with sanitizing wipes between guests.
- Duvet covers (and other bedding) are washed between guests.
- We provide extra cleaning supplies, sanitizing wipes, and a cell phone sanitizer for use during your stay.

A modern cabin in town! Whether you are looking to relax on the 320sf deck by the house, or walk just a few steps down a wooded path to the platform overlooking Bird Creek. Lots of wildlife can be seen. This is the only residence on 4.2 wooded acres, and feels like you’re miles from town. Located 3 minutes drive from downtown Pawhuska. Perfect for a couples weekend, yoga or artist getaway. Queen bed in the loft and a queen Murphy bed in the main room. A wilderness retreat within the city limits!

The space
The cabin has a loft bedroom and Murphy bed in living room. Can sleep 4. Completed in March 2024, the 750sf cabin has ample space to relax in the sitting area on the ground floor with 22ft ceilings overhead. Prepare meals with a full kitchen. Shiplap covers all interior walls. Stained concrete floors on the main floor and bath area is fitted with washer/dryer, shower and soaking tub atop marble floor tile. The simple loft area has a queen size bed and sitting area. You must climb a sturdy loft ladder to the loft/bedroom. The cabin is comfortable for two, but also can accommodate an additional two sleeping on queen size murphy bed in the living area if needed. With a 320sf deck wrapping the north and east side. You can choose sun or shade when spending time outside. The cabin is extremely private and has beautiful natural surroundings. Perfect for a couples weekend getaway!
