This simply cozy studio looks out upon a hay field visited daily by deer and other wildlife. We let nature take its course here, plants and wildlife run free. The covered patio is a perfect place to relax, unwind and watch the geese land in the reservoir. The kitchenette includes a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, tea kettle and coffee machine. This is an open area studio, there is not a separate bedroom. This 4+ acre hay-farm property is bordered on 2 sides by the reservoir. We are within walking distance (about a mile) to two vineyards, and just a few minutes drive to downtown restaurants, shops and Choate campus. The main house is about 25 feet from the studio. No-cost early check-in and late check-out is available much of the time, just ask. Please note, regardless of where you park (on our paved driveway or on the designated grassy area so you are closer to the studio) you will need to walk 40 or so feet across lawn to access the Studio).

- "This is a very nice updated one-bedroom apartment in a central location. Restaurants are within walking distance. The building has an elevator. The kitchen has everything you need. I enjoyed my stay. Just one caveat: the train tracks run just behind the building. The trains aren’t constant, but they do blow their horn at the intersection. I brought earplugs, and the noise didn’t keep me from sleeping " - "This property was almost perfect for what I needed, which was a home base where I could sleep, bathe, cook, and eat. I did not spend a lot of time there during the day, but was able to pop in as needed to make meals before heading back out. It's very cute and I appreciated all of the thoughtful touches, like the Brita water filter, the basket of travel toiletries in case I forgot something, a decent amount of hangers to fully unpack, a spice rack, cooking necessities, etc. It was also nice to have a code to get into the building and into the room making check in easy and providing a sense of safety. I rented a different property from Karl last year and had a good experience there as well. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the property is right next to the train tracks and the rail car honks the horn while crossing the intersection. If you are a light sleeper that may be an issue. I brought a white noise machine plus had the air conditioner on and was able to sleep fine, but it did wake me up between 7am and 8am each morning. As long as I didn't need have a need to sleep late, I would stay here again. "

- "The apartment is beautifully restored, whimsically decorated with very nice furniture which is also comfortable. There are lights and outlets everywhere!! Linens and towels sparking clean and brand new!! All kinds of kitchen equipment. As an “older person”!! I had a little trouble navigating the shower that is in an enclose tub but that would not be a problem for the young. It is in a part of town with a moderately busy street and a rooster in the am!! But the white noise machines on both sides of the bed made it all okay. There is a washer and a dryer so longer stays would work well. I would definitely stay there again. Karl was a very nice host."

First it was ants in the kitchen and then more ants and other bugs upstairs in the bedrooms. The host had the garbage removed after a day or so and sent ant traps and bug spray. There were ant traps in the house when we arrived. It was very uncomfortable staying in the house given the situation. I would not recommend staying here."
