It is situated on a very quiet street with neighbors to the side as the width of the lagoon makes a rear fence unnecessary. You will see a lawn, trees and shrubs, a dock, water and water birds. There are covered and wind protected sitting areas in the front and back. The extensively landscaped gardens, classic redwood fencing and lagoon offers privacy, beauty and serenity seldom found in urban homes.

This is a beautiful Victorian house built in 1908, with delightful vintage details throughout, and recently luxurious upgrades from top to bottom. It is decorated with French Country theme. The neighborhood is quiet, safe and welcoming. House is equipped with high speed internet (free wifi), flat screen TV, and wash/dryer.

Guests will have access to the entire house and the garden.
Interaction with guests
I am a very easy going person. Every guest will be respected and be cared for during their stay. Absolutely no problem if you break a dish, a glass, or accidentally scratch a table or spill something on the carpet. Things are meant to be used and guests should live freely during their visit.
I live in Santa Clara, 45mins south of Alameda. Not onsite most days, but always available by phone or text, and will give guests immediate attention. My kind neighbors Dean and Stacy offered to help in emergency situations. My grown up son, Sean (25), lives half miles away from the property is able to help as well.

The apartment is close to Webster St (West End) where you can find the farmer's market Tuesday and Saturday, a neighborhood bar, restaurants, coffee shops and public transportation. Buses take you to the Bay Area Rapid Transit , San Francisco, Berkeley or just around this 5x3 mile island. The ferry is 11/2 miles away.

Not far away is the old Navy base, home to the WWII aircraft carrier, The Hornet, with very informative tours, a WWII museum and usually playful sea lions .. Along "Spirit's Alley",in the same area ,are many brew pubs, a couple of wineries, Hangar 1 Vodka, St. George Spirits Distillery, most with a back drop of the SF sky line. The first Sunday of each month Michaan's Auction house hosts a large antiques fair on the old tarmac. This area of Alameda is constantly changing as the redevelopment continues.

This 1885 Marcuse & Remmel Victorian flat is perfect for visiting family or a holiday in the beautiful and historical island of Alameda. Within walking distance to local restaurants, cafes, bars, and boutique stores. Also a 15 minute walk to Alameda beach.

The home is light filled with large Victorian windows and each bedroom has a queen size Tempurpedic mattress. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. There is a clawfoot tub with a shower head as well as shower handle in the second bathroom. The kitchen is a chef's dream with Carrara marble countertops. The sun room leads out to the balcony overlooking the serene garden. There is a twin size Tempurpedic mattress in the daybed in the sunroom which can accommodate a 5th guest.

- "My stay at Narvin’s property was lovely. The home is exactly as it is described on the listing. There are two prívale rooms with very comfortable beds and very clean linens. We didn’t use the third room which is considered the sunroom, as it opens to the balcony and it doesn’t have any privacy curtains. We liked keeping the balcony doors open while cooking to feel the breeze. The kitchen is every cooks dream. We got to bake two cakes and make some delicious meals. There were some items we needed to purchase (a hand mixer, olive oil and other kitchen staples) but Target is a super short drive away (as coffee shops and other stores). There isn’t a dedicated work space but I used the dinning table which was lovely as there is a lot of windows that open to fresh air and gorgeous landscaping throughout the property. Parking was easy, lots of open spaces on the street and the neighborhood is safe and welcoming. This home is walking distance to the beach as well! Narvin and his cleaning staff was attentive to all of our needs, including allowing us to bring our luggage in at 12 noon prior to check in. Although this space is on the pricier side — it is worth it! If you're looking to have some beautiful memories, this is the place!"

We are a family of four living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our recently added basement guest room has a private entrance and private bathroom. We have a large backyard with fruit trees, a fire pit and outdoor heater. Alameda is an island city approximately 10 miles outside of San Francisco and just 2 miles from Oakland. Our home is 1.5 miles from a ferry to San Francisco (20 minute ride) and within walking distance of restaurants, shops and the beach.

Please note, the basement has lower than average ceilings and ranges from 6'4" - 7'2". The bathroom is not ensuite, but is private and not shared. Parts of the basement common areas are still unfinished but the bedroom and bathroom are complete with thoughtful touches. Refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee maker provided for your private use.

We have one small dog, two cats that live strictly upstairs indoors, and two chickens in the backyard. If you are looking for a high-end hotel experience, this is not it. But if you are looking for a unique experience and a convenient and comfortable place to stay with welcoming hosts, this is it!

The space
**For everyone’s safety, we have in place a 2-day buffer between guests during which time we thoroughly clean and sanitize!**

This 900-square-foot Victorian in-law apartment has many original moldings and built-ins, plus a lovely claw-foot tub for long soaks. The large eat-in kitchen has full-sized appliances, and there is a washer and dryer in the bathroom. In addition to the flat-screen TV, we've stocked the living room with games and books for relaxing times indoors. You'll notice that the apartment stays wonderfully cool in the summer, and has its own central heat in the wintertime.

Guest access
Each bedroom has one comfy queen bed, and there is also a couch/daybed in the larger bedroom if needed for an extra person.

Other things to note
Since we live right upstairs with regular work schedules and 2 big, friendly dogs, and neighboring houses are quite close, there will be noises during the day. Also, I am a professional pianist, so you may hear me practicing or teaching. We all try to be courteous with our noise and ask that you will be too.

Being on one of the main streets of the area it was easy to get around. The description was very inaccurate. There was no garage parking like described and in fact there was no parking at all. We had to find street parking which was difficult and spread out. I asked the owner about parking and the spot I was told about was taken. The pictures for the listing were also of a different house so I was caught off guard. Not a huge deal but not how this is supposed to work. The check out process was easy but there were no instructions and the owner gave very basic instructions after asking. I rarely have issues renting through VRBO but I will not stay at this property again."

- "To begin, I had gone through vbro and selected a property and paid in full. This was for four days. Just a couple days before our trip I received a message from the property manager saying that the property we were rented had some kind of issue and that maintenance was required but that there was another property available to meet my needs. I agreed since i had already paid and planned the tip and had family meeting us there. I had done quite a bit of research on locations due to parking and the fact that we are fisherman and wanted to be close to our marina and boat. The original property was two blocks from this. However, this was not to be. Like I said I agreed to the change. At the location we noticed that there was absolutely zero parking. The house is diced up into smaller apartments so this is a multiple family dwelling apt. People that live there have plenty of on site parking. But for vbro people there is zero parking except for the street and good luck with that. So my elder handclapped brother-in-law and his van had to be parked around on another block. He uses oxygen so not ideal for him. Once inside we noticed that we were a bed short. We needed and had paid for three beds. Not two beds and a horrible futon. So after a phone conversation the manager brought and set up a queen bed. The towels smelled as of they were used, folded and placed back on the rack. I could go on an on but you get the point."

- "This rental was as described in the listing. It's location was excellent, close to everything. The sleeping arrangements were good with comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. The kitchen was supplied with basics and the playroom upstairs was a big hit with the children. There were a few downsides with this location that people should be aware of, but were manageable for us because the price was decent. One is the street parking situation which was a bit of a challenge. The other is that the only bathrooms were downstairs and the folks staying in the master bedroom are upstairs. So, I wouldn't have anyone who has to go to the bathroom more than once a night stay upstairs. There were a few more minor suggestions I had for the owner that would enhance the stay, but nothing major. "

A medium-sized room in a newly remodeled condo in the Westend Alameda. Located direct on Buena Vista Avenue, you're mere steps away from all the local shops, restaurants and bars. One block away from the bus stop to reach Oakland, Berkeley and San Francisco! 20 mins by bus!

With a shared bathroom and plenty of closet space, this is a great room for couples as a home base for a long northern California trip or any traveler who wants the comforts of home.

This 100-year old water tower in our backyard supplied water to beach cottages on our street. It's been renovated into a tiny home, mostly using reused or upcycled materials. We're happy to share it with guests looking for a quiet & unique place to stay in the Bay Area.

It has its own entrance, private courtyard and is located one block from the beach, pinball museum, transit, farmers market, coffee shops & restaurants. You’ll love it because it's quaint and conveniently located.

The space
The water tower is two stories. Downstairs is a kitchenette with a small fridge and microwave and electric hot water kettle, two chairs, a chaise lounge, a coffee table and bar top. There's a small closet for storage and hanging clothes. There's a small bathroom and shower accessible through the front door porch. There are 8 ladder style steps to get to the bedroom upstairs. Staying at the Water Tower is not advisable for guests scared of heights or feel uncomfortable going up steep stairs. Guests also need to feel comfortable staying in a small space (145 sq ft) . The bedroom upstairs has a desk and a twin bed. There's a mattress under the bed that can accommodate a second person though we generally discourage more than one person staying for multiple days since it's a small space. Also please note that there's a $25 per day fee for additional guests.

Guest access
Guests can access the Watertower by walking up the driveway of the main house and through the back gate. The Water Tower is on the far left corner of the property. It has its own private gate and courtyard.

Other things to note
Our dog "Odi" might greet you at the gate. He is super friendly. Just say hi and continue towards the water tower.

The bathroom and shower are in the same space directly outside the front door. This is more of a European style setup where the whole space is waterproof and ok if it gets wet.

Our pricing is for one guest and we discourage two people staying given tight quarters in our backyard. In situations where a second guest is involved, we ask that our pricing policy is adhered to and the $25 extra gueat fee added to the reservation.

Charming room in an 1891 Queen Anne house on a quiet court is equipped with a dresser, a queen bed, blinds and drapes to somewhat block the light facing a sunny east direction. In addition it possesses an armoire-type cabinet, a side table and a small table and two chairs. It has door hooks and several hangars for hanging clothes. Please, bring your slippers for your ultimate comfort. We don't wear shoes in the house.

This may affect your ability to get parking right in front or up to a half block away. One of my guests parked a block and a half away. Sometimes I can offer the driveway for parking for unloading to make things easier for the guests.

Enjoy the Airstream nostalgia! It's surprisingly comfortable and inviting. A 1972 Airstream Sovereign Landyacht that has been updated for a cozy stay.

Alameda is an island town with a beach nearby and easy access into SF or Oakland.

The space
This is a classic Airstream landyacht (32') that has been remodeled. She goes by the name Emma Hesse. There is living space with a queen bed and a separate bedroom with a twin day bed/couch. Spacious bathroom has been remodeled with a clawfoot tub and while luxurious for a camper, its height limits it to a European hand held shower and 10gal water heater.

It is a 2 room trailer and spacious for a trailer with remodeled bedroom and bathroom and new flooring.

Beautiful curved ceilings means a short shower/tub so please be aware if you are tall or don't like small spaces. The shower is also outfitted for a trailer space and you will have to take shorter showers due to the 10gal water heater. The bathtub serves as a shower pan and cannot be used a traditional tub to be filled with hot water.

Yard is shared but during your stay we can designate either front or back yard for privacy. We have a dog that accesses the yard.

You can enter via the front or side yard. The whole side of the yard is dedicated to the airstream.

The space
The living area features a closet with shelves and a barn door, and the condo includes various upgrades, providing a homelike feel. Located within the complex, the unit enjoys a pool-facing view and plenty of morning sunlight in the living room. The patio is relatively bigger.

The large living room, bigger than those in other one-bedroom condos, CAN accommodate two couches and a lazy chair, with room for a wall-mounted 60" TV (however, the guests are NOT allowed to bring their own TV and mount it or any other electrical appliances). It also CAN accommodate a dining table and chairs. However, the condo as seen in the pics comes with a couch, table, a bed and a fireplace with other decors.

There is a huge vanity area between the bathroom and the bedroom with another vessel sink.

The place comes SEMI furnished with a couch and a bed and few basic things. The pictures added is how the place looks.

P.S: the place is already super discount in comparisons to the neighboring area with 5% weekly and 10% monthly in addition to promotion for first three bookings. The furniture and amenities also reasonable towards the discounted rent. The patio is undergoing modeling and construction currently.

The guest is not allowed to bring any furniture or any electrical equipment without asking the host. Especially TV or any gaming gadgets. Since all utilizes are electrical; even a heater can jack up the power and electrical bills

Spacious 500 square ft. guest suite, five steps down from private at- grade garden entry, within our beautiful 1904 Dutch colonial on a quiet street in lovely Alameda. The space has standard 8ft ceilings, plenty of natural light with 6 full size windows and a patio space in our lovely garden. Amenities include Roku TV, kitchenette appliances but not a full kitchen. The Queen bed and the full size sofa bed can sleep a family of 4. Easy walk to public transit, restaurants, shops and parks.

The space
A 500 square ft. guest suite including a beautifully appointed 21x14 space with a comfy queen bed at one end and dining/living area at the other. The 50” wall-mounted TV (Roku TV) swivels to accommodate both. Set up like a spacious hotel room, the mini fridge, microwave, small toaster oven and coffee bar (stocked with coffee, tea, cocoa, snacks and oatmeal) permit simple meals. We DO provide dishware for 4 guests but no stove top or pots and pans as there is NO full kitchen. The sofa opens (let us know before you arrive and we will set it up to avoid hurting your back or damaging the sofa frame) to a full-size high quality, comfy futon bed large enough for one or two extra people (under 6 feet tall for maximum comfort), and the table and chairs will seat four. The bathroom has a spacious shower but no tub. There are extra folding chairs and supplies in the storage closet across from the bathroom. Down the hall is a coat closet with extra towels and blankets. There is seating in the garden for you to enjoy.

The guest suite is your private space with its own garden entrance. We have the ability to share our driveway with our guests if your car isn’t too large. We also have plenty of parking on our street. We have easy self check in and I will message you the code for the door a day or two before your arrival. The garden is shared with us.

The private sitting room is directly off your bedroom and exclusively yours to use on your stay. It does have a sleeper sofa so if there are more than two in your party, there is certainly the space, and the rooms are separated by a door for privacy. However, note that the guests in the sitting room can only exit through your bedroom. It's normally not a problem with parties traveling together, but it could be an issue for some guests.

Your rooms are on the upper floor of the house, accessed by walking up a flight of stairs. This may be an issue for people with limited mobility so please consider this when you're making your booking.

The space
The Redwood cottage is located in the backyard of a family home. It's about 250 square feet and the door opens to the yard. When you lay in the bed or work at the desk, you have views of mature redwoods and palm trees. There is a high end Dyson space heater and heated mattress pad for cooler nights.

There is a smart TV and you're welcome to log into your apps - Netflix, Prime, etc. There is no cable TV. There is a fold up eating tray and extra blankets in the closet.

The kitchenette features s mini fridge, sink, toaster oven, coffee makers, microwave, plates and utensils, knife and cutting board, drinking glasses (indoor and outdoor. Please the fancy plastic cups outdoors.)

We have a 5 and 9 year old who use the backyard which includes a large trampoline that's next to the cottage. While you're staying with us we will try to limit trampoline use when you're in the cottage.

The entrance is on the side of the house on the driveway side. There is no shared outdoor space but there are 2 parks within walking distance as well as coffee shops, markets, and shopping. Since this is the basement floor in an old Victorian, the ceiling height is low. Parking is on the street and usually easy to find.

The space
The spacious main room includes a comfortable living room with a couch, chairs, and a 50" TV. The main room also includes a dining room table with plenty of room for dinner, working, or playing games.

The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, seating area, closet, and TV. With two windows, there is plenty of natural light in the room but also adequate privacy. There is a twin air mattress available upon request.

The beverage bar on your way to the kitchen has a Nespresso with a selection of pods for your morning coffee. There is also a tea kettle, an assortment of teas, and complimentary wine for you to enjoy.

The kitchen has plenty of room to cook or eat take-out at the kitchen island. We have all the essentials to feel like you are cooking in your kitchen at home and lots of recommendations for eating out if there is no time to cook!

Enjoy everything the Bay Area has to offer from your private retreat on the charming island of Alameda. The space has been updated and is conveniently located near Alameda's Crown Beach, San Francisco, Oakland, restaurants and shopping. 130-year old buildings have a lot of charm but also more maintenance issues and we can't predict when they'll come up. However, we always work very quickly with guests to correct them. If it would upset you to work through these things together, for your stress levels and ours, please book a newer building. Guests looking for space on a budget who are self-sufficient and communicate well have the best experience staying with us. Guests looking for a higher-end experience would be happier elsewhere.

This is also a unit with other apartments above and to the side in a 130+ year old building where sound travels so it wouldn't be suited to guests who are very sensitive to noise.

The gated entrance off the street has a small private outdoor area. The apartment has a queen bed in the bedroom and very spacious closet with plenty of storage room. There is a desk, dining set and full kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, gas stove with oven, toaster oven, microwave, and coffee maker.

This ground-floor apartment is easily accessible with no stairs at the entrance. A coin-operated laundry washer and dryer is available on-site. There is no on-site parking, street parking is available. Please take note of street sweeping days and times, they vary by side of street.

If there are cleaning issues, we always work quickly with guests to correct but if it would upset you to work through these things together, for your stress levels and ours, please book elsewhere. Guests looking for space on a budget who are self-sufficient and communicate well have the best experience staying with us.

The quality of our apartments is similar to a Best Western, Extended Stay, or Comfort Suites and our prices of under $90 per night reflects this. If you wouldn't stay in these chains, or if you prefer a Hilton or Marriott, there are higher-end Airbnb options available in Alameda so please book with them.

We take great care in screening our guests to ensure it is in safe hands. If you leave a short message without detail, we probably won't be able to accommodate. Price is fixed—Airbnb is great in that there are plenty of options to fit everyone's budget! Lastly, we are a husband and wife team managing the property. We are here should guests need anything but we are extremely busy with four young kids and full-time jobs so if you anticipate needing a lot of correspondence or assistance, we unfortunately won't be able to accommodate.

* The building was built in the late 1800s and is on Alameda’s historical list. Noise travels in older buildings so you will hear footsteps/ voices in units next to, or above, you. There are also pets on the property so there may be barking from time to time. If you're looking for silence, it's best to book somewhere with no shared walls.
* One review called out train noise, there is no train in Alameda. The closest trains are Amtrak and BART in Oakland, approximately 2.5 miles away, and can be heard throughout Alameda, Oakland, and Emeryville.
* Most of our bookings are longer stays for 30-120 days but we do have shorter bookings in-between. Guests replenish their own paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc at the nearby Target or corner stores.
* This is a self check-in/ self check-out apartment. Instructions will be sent day of check-in.

Enjoy everything the Bay Area has to offer from your private retreat on the charming island of Alameda. The space has been updated and is conveniently located near Alameda's Crown Beach, San Francisco, Oakland, restaurants and shopping.

This apartment has a private, separate entrance that is accessed through the shared backyard. The apartment has a queen bed in the bedroom and spacious closet with plenty of storage room. There is a desk, dining set and full kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, electric stove with oven, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker. The bathroom and kitchen are newly renovated.

130-year old buildings have a lot of charm but also more maintenance issues and we can't predict when they'll come up. However, we always work very quickly with guests to correct them. If it would upset you to work through these things together, for your stress levels and ours, please book a newer building. Guests looking for space on a budget who are self-sufficient and communicate well have the best experience staying with us. Guests looking for a higher-end experience would be happier elsewhere.

This is a unit with other apartments above and to the side in a 130+ year old building where sound travels so it wouldn't be suited to guests who are very sensitive to noise. The wall next to the bed has a bathroom on the other side so some noise can be heard. Some guests said it was loud, some said it was not loud and as expected in a building with shared walls. Since sound is subjective, we want potential guests to be aware.

This ground-floor apartment is easily accessible with no stairs at the entrance. An app-operated laundry washer and dryer is available on-site. There is no on-site parking, street parking is available. Please take note of street sweeping days and times, they vary by side of street.

The quality of our apartments is similar to a Best Western, Extended Stay, or Comfort Suites and our prices of under $90 per night reflects this. We take great care in screening our guests to ensure it is in safe hands. Please leave a message with details of who you are, reason for the visit, and who will be accompanying you, in addition to any details you think would be helpful for us to know. If you leave a short message without detail, we probably won't be able to accommodate. Price is fixed—Airbnb is great in that there are plenty of options to fit everyone's budget! Lastly, we are a husband and wife team managing the property. We are here should guests need anything but we are extremely busy with four young kids and full-time jobs so if you anticipate needing a lot of correspondence or assistance, we unfortunately won't be able to accommodate.

* The building was built in the late 1800s and is on Alameda’s historical list. Noise travels in older buildings so you will hear footsteps/ voices in units next to, or above, you. There are also pets on the property so there may be barking from time to time. If you're looking for silence, it's best to book somewhere with no shared walls.
* One review called out train noise, there is no train in Alameda. The closest trains are Amtrak and BART in Oakland, approximately 2.5 miles away, and can be heard throughout Alameda, Oakland, and Emeryville.
* Most of our bookings are longer stays for 30-120 days but we do have shorter bookings in-between. Guests replenish their own paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc at the nearby Target or corner stores.
* This is a self check-in/ self check-out apartment. Instructions will be sent day of check-in.

We will have coffee, tea, oatmeal, snacks, and fruit waiting for you as well as an assortment of spices and cooking oil. Island Savoy, a local market, is located two blocks, east bound. Caballo Wraps for savory Central American cuisine, a local chocolatier for your sweet tooth, a laundromat and Forbidden Island for a tiki bar experience are all located within 2-5 blocks, eastbound. You'll be staying in a stunning private small studio on the property of a 110+ year old craftsman house. Everything is brand new with modern amenities. Walk 2 short blocks to gorgeous path along the water and charming historic downtown with 35+ restaurants/take out/coffee shops, twice weekly Farmer's Market yet still a quiet neighborhood. 5 minute drive to Ferry direct to San Fran & 2 blocks to bus stop with easy access to all of the Bay Area. Bring the family to the hidden gem, Crab Cove Beach. Lots of open space and wildlife. Bring your kayak/SUP boards (store them here) and 3 walkable launches. Full Kitchen (gas) Washer/Dryer (free).

The space
This is your little home/office away from home. Multiple work-from-home spaces. Both bedrooms can accommodate a full size desk and office chair.

Main bedroom: Sleep in a new-in-2020 queen bed with black-out blinds (in case you want to sleep in) and a 22" flat screen TV with Amazon Fire Stick (no cable).

The 2nd bedroom is set up as an office with an adjustable stand-up/sit down workstation and twin-size daybed. The living room has an armchair, a love seat and can accommodate an air mattress.

Hang out in the backyard hammock or on the cute front porch with Adirondack chairs and lovely garden. The patio area has comfy seating, a fire pit and colorful, overhead solar string-lights for enjoying the (generally) cool night air.

Kitchen has a full-size Gas Range and microwave along with more than just the basics for cooking (but please let me know if there is something specific you are missing because I might have it available to share).

If you are bringing bikes or other equipment, storage is available for your stuff in the garage.

The fenced yard is shared with another house where I live (and sometimes a foster dog).

The washer and dryer available for your use are in the garage under the main house. Feel free to help yourself to the laundry soap and supplies.

You are welcome to store your luggage, sports equipment, kayak, SUP, etc in the garage under the main house as long as it fits in the 8'x12' designated area. We can make room outside for kayaks, etc that may not fit inside.

Nearby Crab Cove Beach is a local, mostly unknown treasure with very shallow water and virtually no waves which makes it ideal for little ones making sand castles. A beautiful path along the water for biking, walks and wildlife observers starts only 1 block away. Sea lions and manta rays can occasionally be seen in the bay along the walking/biking path. Also very nearby is a place that offers paddle board rentals and paddle board yoga classes.

Other things to note
Parking in my neighborhood is free and generally easy (within about a block) without day or time restrictions. You must move your car every 3 days according to the law (only applies if a neighbor calls it in as abandoned).

You can briefly park on the sidewalk in front of the driveway for loading and unloading.

Tucked back from the street, this cozy cottage has been recently updated to feel bright, clean, inviting and open.

Located just off Webster Street, minutes away from the Alameda Farmers Market, local restaurants, and unique shops--this is a walker's paradise! Grocery Outlet is less than than a half mile away and the beach is just under a mile. Easy access to San Francisco via a 5-minute drive to the Alameda Seaplane Lagoon Terminal (which has ample parking) and a 20-minute ferry ride.

Longer-term guests (anything over one week) need to put trash bins on the curb for Friday morning pick-up. There is also a bin under the kitchen sink for composting; this can be any food product (even bones!) and any paper product that food came in.
