The house has all the amenities of home. It comes with a large front loading washer and dryer, and the kitchen has a full size electric stove, microwave and refrigerator. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, cookware, utensils, and all the essentials to prepare a meal. The dining room has seating for six.

- "We drove our boat to the cozy cottage for a couple days of R&R. We arrived and got right into the cottage. Very welcoming and clean, it has 1 queen bed with a fireplace (great for fall time), bathroom and livingroom. There’s a small porch on front and back deck with chairs and table on both. We were able to dock our boat right up to the cabin. Had dinner on the property at Wintzells oyster house and did some fishing morning, noon and night. Limited cooking supplies, but that was okay with us as we made our meals very simple for this stay. There was a coffee maker that makes a cup at a time (k-cup or ground coffee). Tv is antenna or hotspot to your phone for Roku. It had everything we needed and very pleasant stay. Neighbors next door were super friendly and pleasant to talk to. If it wasn’t for the mosquitoes we would’ve talked longer lol. Definitely would book again! 😁"

Just opened for bookings in June 2023, "SB Hideout" has a location that cannot be beat. It is on Buck Island, just minutes from Highway 431, a public boat launch, Alred Marina, Gunter’s Landing Golf Course, and Guntersville City Harbor. It is 150 yards to community lake access with docking space for 4 boats. You can see the community pier from the driveway, the only reason you can’t see it from the porch is because of the trees that line the community pier path. Covered parking for 2 vehicles with boat trailers (22 feet wide and 71 feet long, with 46 feet under carport) and driveway parking (12 feet wide and 45 feet long), both with access to power. Parking for additional vehicles and boat trailers is available in the side yard.

"SB Hideout" is 1200 square feet, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, sitting on ½ an acre with woods on two sides. One bedroom has 2 Queen beds, and an attached bathroom with a garden soaking tub. The second bedroom has 1 Queen bed. There is a second full bathroom with a shower/tub. There is a twin bed in the corner of the living room. All beds have memory foam mattresses purchased in 2023. All linens, bedding, and towels were purchased in 2023.

The house has central AC and heat and a gas fireplace. The laundry room is accessed from the back patio and has a window AC unit.

The open kitchen/living room provides plenty of room for 7 to watch TV. The table seats 4 and the kitchen island provides seating for 4. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare and serve meals. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, bakeware, coffee pot, toaster, and grilling utensils. There is a picnic table on the covered back patio with a view of the woods and a second picnic table on the covered side patio adjacent to the covered carport. The covered front porch with rocking chairs has a view of the lake in the winter.

There are two smart LG TVs, a 65 inch TV in the living room and a 45 inch TV in the larger bedroom. Cable is not provided. “LG TV” provides a wide range of channels, or login to your favorite app.

The garage is not available for guests.

The closest boat launches are at a public boat launch on Highway 431 just before Veterans Memorial Bridge going over the lake into town and Alred Marina Ramp, both 3 minutes away.

In order to confirm a booking, a completed and signed rental agreement is required within 24 hours. The rental agreement requires confirmation of the number of adults and children in the group, agreeing to the house rules, and providing a photo of the driver's license of the person signing the rental agreement.

No third party bookings allowed. No smoking and no pets allowed on the property. The home is pet free in order to accommodate guests with pet allergies.

In no event shall the Rental Property be occupied by more persons than the capacity of the property as stated on the web site or the confirmation letter, without prior approval by Owner. Any visitors (even "day visitors") not included in the group size of your reservation MUST BE APPROVED PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL DATE. No fraternities, school, civic, or other non-family groups are allowed unless Owner grants prior approval. Violations of these rules are grounds for expedited removal from the property with no refund of any kind and forfeiture of the entire $500 security deposit.

Guests on the property are limited to those listed on the rental agreement. No additional overnight guests allowed at any time. Additional day guests require pre-approval. No parties or events allowed. These rules are strictly enforced. Failure to abide by these rules may result in immediate removal from the property and forfeiture of deposit and all monies paid to book the property.

Exterior cameras are installed on the property as part of a security system. Cameras provide surveillance of the driveway and the front porch.

Located mid-lake (halfway between Guntersville and Scottsboro) and just 0.2 mi from the Mink Creek boat ramp, The Honey Hole is the perfect cabin for the fisherman or family,

As you drive up Jeffery Rd The Honey Hole will be the second cabin on your left. On the way to the cabin, you'll pass the Mink Creek Boat ramp on the right with many other ramps such as the Waterfront boat ramp, Goose Pond and many others very close.

You'll enter the property and park up to 2 vehicles or boats under the lighted carport that has power to charge your batteries after a long day of fishing. There's a grill and patio out front with a table and chairs allowing for some time outside.

As you enter the cabin, the kitchen and great room area are to your right and the bedrooms are to your left. The large kitchen includes everything you'll need to make memorable meals. Your Kitchen includes full sized appliances including a dishwasher as well as a microwave, coffee maker and filters, toaster. Cookware, dishes and flatware are also included.

The large open concept area allows for great communication whether you're in the kitchen or great room area. You're spacious great room offers comfortable seating on leather couches, the half bath, a wall mounted big screen television powered by DirecTV and an awesome full sized pool table.

The two bedrooms each include a queen and twin bed. The Jack and Jill full bathroom is located between the 2 bedrooms. You'll find the cleanest bedding and freshest towels anywhere!

When you book a stay in our “Honeymoon Suite” you will have the entire Suite. Your romantic feelings will be enhanced when you see this gingerbread trimmed historic house. This feeling will continue as you step onto the wraparound front porch. This mood will continue as you enter the guest parlor and a living art gallery setting. At the back of the house is a private courtyard with a fire-pit. There is a small deck with an entry into the art studio.

The space
Guests may feel as they are staying in 20th Century Art-Gallery Home. That’s because the owner and host of the property is also an artist. Across the hall from the “Michelangelo Room” is the “Van Gogh Room.” Its’ theme is reminiscent of a French Cafe’ and pub. These were favorite places for Van Gogh and his friend, Paul Gaugin, to hangout. It has a kitchenette with a keurig coffee bar and a refrigerator as well as a small dining corner. The work-area has a large desk and ergonomic chair. There is also a rocking chair in the corner and a clothes steamer in the closet.

There are also several restaurants in the area. The “Little River Canyon National Preserve,” and “DeSoto State Park” are two of the area’s attractions. The following activities are among those that are available; kayaking, bicycling, hiking, and bird watching. Chattanooga is only a 45 minutes drive from Fort Payne. It is a about a two-hour drive to Atlanta, Birmingham and Huntsville. Thirty-five minutes away is Scottsboro, Al. This is the home of the largest “Unclaimed Baggage Center” in the country.

Guest access
The exterior of the house features a large wraparound front porch. At the back of the house there is a small deck off the studio and a fire pit seating area on a brick terrace. This looks out at a park-like setting and a glimpse of the southern part of Lookout Mountain. Should you need more space ask about two other bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other, a queen-sized bed. There is also a sofa-bed in the parlor. Check the site; “A Party for Five or Suite for Two,” to rent the six-room suite.

Other things to note
The Grande Ole Lady is located in the historic district of downtown. It is a short walk to the city’s park, eateries, museums and shops as well as other attractions. In the late 1880’s Fort Payne became known an industrial “Boom Town.”This was a common expression of the era when a company or group of companies would find a location that had the natural resources to meet their needs. In the case of Fort Payne, it was coal and Iron. The railroad had been completed by this time, making it possible to get goods and people from place to place. This was particularly true of the people and goods that came from Boston and other places in the northeast. Fort Payne was a young community just beginning to find its’ way in the world. In 1889, the boom was evident as lovely Victorian homes were built. In addition, new buildings were built in the downtown area. These included the Opera House, a grand hotel, and a beautiful sandstone railroad depot. Several industrial complexes were established on the outskirts of the town. Sadly, the coal an iron eventually ran out. But while the economy slowed down and some businesses closed their doors, other investors came to develop the largest hosiery industry in the country. The sock mills employed hundreds of people until many of their owners began to move their businesses overseas. However by this time, the tourist industry was sending several 1,000’s of visitors to the area each year. The area continues to thrive from the growth of this industry.

Guest apt in back of a detached garage. Fully modern space in a very quiet neighborhood about 20 minutes from downtown HSV. The apt has its own private entrance with self check-in. You may park on the driveway. Amenities include central heat and air, WIFI, smart TV, k-cup coffee maker, mini fridge, and microwave. Paper plates, coffee, cream and sugar, single use cutlery provided. Space is ideal for a working professional traveling to HSV during the week.

This is laid out basically like a hotel room. We have a small fridge, microwave, kureig type coffee pot. We supply plates, cups, silverware, bowls and a few kcups. We have WiFi and a 32 in TV. Large, comfy king size bed. In the bathroom, you will find a shower and a composting toilet. See pic. Instructions on how to use are posted in bathroom but it’s very simple. We just weren’t able to add a septic tank because the land is too rocky. We’ve added a small outdoor firepit! Firewood not supplied but food city is near and sells bundles or feel free to use any wood from the property

This historic house (circa 1894) was built during the town’s nostalgic “Boom Days.” The first thing you'll notice about it is a wraparound front porch with gingerbread trim. It belongs to a talented artist—Ann Hamilton, who is also the host. She lives in one of its’ two five-room suites. A haven for art lovers. people from all over the world have stayed here. Original paintings and prints adorn the walls. The guest suite is as comfortable as the owner’s suite.

The space
The motifs and paintings in the rooms reflect the styles of the artists they represent, including “The Georgia O’Keefe Room,” “The Claude Monet Room,” “The Michelangelo Room,” and “The Van Gogh Room,” multi-purpose room , similar in style to a French cafe or pub. It has a kitchenette, dining nook and work-area. It and the guest parlor are shared with other guests. The private bedrooms and guest bathroom are located upstairs. The exterior of the property is just as inviting as its’ interior. The backyard with a fire pit in the court yard are shared by guests. A small deck in the same area has a private entrance into the art studio.

The suite is filled with beautiful paintings, curated furniture, and decor that captures the unique styles of each artist. There is a private entrance to a large art studio with a work-space and meeting area. Guests can also share the downstairs private parlor and multi-purpose room. Our home is 1200 +/- square feet, with a 40 gallon hot water tank. Guests who stay with us have full use of our 3 bedroom/2 bathroom home, front porch, back deck, and fully fenced backyard. This includes a full kitchen and full laundry.

Our home is .25 mile (You read that correctly, a quarter mile!) from Lake Guntersville, within less than 10 min drive of 8 different boat ramps and public lake beach access. Sand Mtn Park and Amphitheater is located nearby, making our home an excellent place to stay during events held at SMPA.

In our home, guests have access to 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, the kitchen/dining area, full laundry, living room, front porch, back deck, front yard, and fenced backyard. The driveway is 18'w and 85'l. Please do not drive or park in the yard.
Guests do not have access to the attached garage or the housekeeping storage closet in the main bedroom. Both are locked.
The home is .25 miles from Lake Guntersville. Airbnb lists this distance as a 6 minute walk. Guests cannot actually walk to lake access from our home. The home is less than 10 minutes to several boat ramps, Lake access points, and Sunset Drive park, which has bike trails, swimming access, beach, and rec center.

Other things to note
We provide basic supplies for each guest. This includes linens, towels, (extra towels are under the sink in the master bathroom) and a starter supply of laundry soap, dish soap, paper towels (1), toilet paper (4), and trash bags (2 large, 1 per each small trash can) Extra items such as casserole dishes and a variety of pots are available in the kitchen.

“The Grande O’Lady,” sits on a hill-side underneath large Oak trees in the historic district of downtown Fort Payne, Al. Built in 1894, its’ charming Victorian style is distinguished by a wraparound front porch. The interior of the house depicts an era when European and American were breaking with traditional ways of art. The five-room guests suite in “The Grande Ol’e Lady reflect this transitions of this period while providing comfortable privact rooms for guests.

There are two suites in the comfortable house, one for guests and the other for the owner and host, Artist Ann Hamilton. Her passion for art continually inspires her to use her talents to enhance the beauty of her home. This year, she re-decorated the guest quarters to create a unique artist theme

Shared rooms include a guest parlor and a multi-purpose room. This space includes a work area with WiFi. It is also equipped with a kitchenette and coffee nook as well as a refrigerator and dining area. Exterior spaces include a large front porch. At the back of the house is a small deck attached to the art studio. Another seating spot is a brick terrace with a fire pit. These overlook a beautiful park-like setting. Depending on the weather, you may have a partial view of the southern plateau of Lookout Mountain. (The art studio is presently undergoing a face-lift. It should be fully functional in a couple of weeks. Check with the host.

During your stay
Co-host, JoAnn Foxworth will interact with guests, when your host isn’t available.

Other things to note
The Art Studio has a panoramic view of the area and of the courtyard at the back of the house. When available, it will open to guests. One of it’s features is a working/ meeting area that seats up to eight individuals. We are in the process of developing several programs, including those for art lessons, retreats, personal coaching and art critiques.
Guests have a private room in a six-room suite including a parlor, three bedrooms, a multipurpose room and a private bathroom. The parlor also has a twin-sized sofa bed for an extra guest.
The house was constructed in Fort Payne’s “Boom Days.” This was an era in the late 1800’s when the town flourished because of its’ industrial potential. Today, it is a showcase, not only for its’ history but also as a personal art gallery complete with a large light-filled art studio. It is always a work in progress as is its’ owner and host Ann Hamilton. At age 84, she continues to make her dreams come true. Presently, she is enjoying making this happen for others as well, thanks to her co-host, JoAnn Foxworth.
