Every room had broken and cracked tiles in the floor, we wore shoes the whole time inside. The kitchen was poorly supplied wasnt able to cook due to lack of pans or any cooking utensils. The two pan we had only one was able to be used because the Teflon was flaking and peeling off the other. The only spatula was a metal one for outside use. Diswasher was new but rollers had been melted in the heating element before we got there ,made for an annoying time loading it. There are forks, spoons, knives, glasses and plates. The refrigerator is great.The grill outside seemed like it had be bought by the tenants before us. There was another grill outside, by the pool that is out of service, that had not been taking care of or any way to clean unless you bought your own cleaning tools. The lower deck has broken boards and an open hole that is easy to step in, not fun when have to watch out for safety of children. The bed in the master bedroom, i have slept in cheaper hotels with better beds, no dresser in master bedroom"

Floors, cabinets, dusting, dishes, etc. The coffee maker timer and the ice maker didn't work (maintenance came in and attempted to fix the ice maker; I made two more calls to get that fixed but had no success). The bathroom exhaust fans were coated with dust. The unit in this building was on the second floor, with 9 or 10 steps to climb, no elevator, and no mention of that in the posting. The gym equipment's heart monitors did not work. There are no mats in any of the gyms to lie on. Construction on all four high rises in this complex was under some construction. "

The space
This is a shared dwelling, meaning common areas such as kitchen, dining, living rooms, kitchenette and laundry areas are all shared with other guests.

Each room has its own private passcode door code lock that only you will have access to. The main entrance’s also have passcode door locks.

The entire place is furnished, there is provided cookware, linens, and basic necessities.

The common areas are cleaned at least once a month professionally and whenever necessary in between. Rooms are cleaned professionally before your check-in, additional room cleanings can be provided upon request for an additional fee.

There is a maximum of 2 guests per room, and we do not allow children or pets. Since this is shared living it is not suitable for children or animals.

The main entrances are accessed by a passcode door lock and your room will also have a passcode door lock that is only available to you.

This property is owned by Pinhook Development, a local investment partnership and early leader in Westside improvements. The guest space is co-located with our headquarters; my business partner and co-host Dallas lives in the house, shares common areas, and provides onsite support for any issues you may encounter in your stay.

Other things to note
We pride ourselves on being among the most responsive and detail-oriented property management teams in the area, and were deeply distressed by the accusations made in a recent review. Our guest space has been almost continuously occupied since November 2019, and when a guest informed us of fleas in the room, we immediately removed and replaced the flooring, as well as applying chemical treatments the same day.
However, removal is a multi-day process, and we accepted the guest's request that we cancel the reservation with a refund due to the lingering traces of infestation that week. Subsequent guests have reported no issues, and we continue to proactively monitor and clean the area.
To reiterate: we had no knowledge of a problem before booking, we took immediate action to resolve the issue, and when that was insufficient, we refunded and vacated the space for full treatment. We will never knowingly expose you to any unsafe conditions, and will gladly refund your money if we cannot resolve an issue. Book with confidence!

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway just minutes from the restaurant and music scenes of avondale and lakeview. Convenient to downtown Birmingham while still being in a safe and quiet neighborhood. Several nearby parks, coffee shops, and bars make this a prime location. Explore this old Birmingham neighborhood with its 100 year old homes, serpentine mountain roads, and views of the city all while staying in a revamped traditional carriage house.

The space
Our carriage house is a comfortable studio with a kitchenette, bathroom, laundry, and tv. It is a cozy place to spend the night and includes all the necessary amenities including a Keurig coffee maker for in the morning. It is located on an alley and enjoys a secluded feel. There is a small private patio that is the perfect place to start the day.
The bathroom has a sink, toilet, shower, and stacked washer and dryer. We provide towels and toilet paper. We also have soap, shampoo, and laundry detergent for your use, but encourage you to bring your own if you are partial to a particular brand.
The kitchenette contains a sink, mini fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. It is not designed for cooking but works for a morning cup of coffee. We supply you with coffee pods and creamer as well as a few snack bars.

Guest access
The entire carriage house will be yours to use. This includes bathroom, laundry, kitchenette, and patio. Parking will need to be on the Main Street (see check-in instructions). The alley is a tight single lane and parking there will hinder traffic.

Other things to note
Parking will be on the main street. The carriage house is up an alley that turns off of the main road. For access, you can drive right up to the stairs of the carriage house to unload your bags; however, you will need to park back down on the main road (see check-in instructions for location pictures). It’s about a fifty foot walk uphill.
