The cabin is pre-civil war in construction, it was reconstructed using the old mortar technique and then added on to in its current location. The Cabin sits on a private road behind a gate. Secluded is an understatement. Fenced yard for your doggies!. It is situated on a bluff overlooking the Crystal Clear East Fork of the Little River, just below a waterfall which can be heard as soon as you open the door to the car during the wetter seasons. We have an inviting front porch with a cozy antique swing where many a book has been read in the fragrant mountain air. The Cabin itself retains all of its antique charm as you enter the Great room with its enormous original stone double sided wood-burning fireplace serving the great-room and the Master bedroom both located on the lower floor. The Upstairs is separated by a staircase that leads to a private spacious upper loft that contains two Twin beds and a Queen Bed. There is a fully functional kitchen with stainless appliances/dishwasher/stove/oven/refrigerator/freezer. One Bathroom Downstairs, with High Efficency Maytag Washer and Dryer. Flat Screen TV with Apple TV/DVD/Inside/outside Stereo/Xbox/Wireless Internet/Dish Network/Central Heat and Air. The river runs right behind the cabin and there are stairs that lead directly to it. The cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Just a 5 minute hike to a private spot on the river to swim and hang out on a float. This place is great all you hear is the wildlife. You are completely off grid and Unplugged! What makes this place so great is how easy it is to walk next door to the market if I need anything. I also love that I can walk to and from dinner if I choose.

There are multiple options for coffee in the mornings. There is a coffee maker for traditional coffee grounds (medium or coarse) and also a Keurig option for K-Cups. Coffee grounds and K-Cups are not always provided so we recommend bringing your own.

Most cars can easily access the home and nearby areas. There is no public transportation, so bringing your own vehicle or renting one is preferred. While Uber and Lyft are available, getting a ride may not always be easy.

➤ Starter kitchen and bathroom essentials are provided, but guests will need to supply disposables and restock items for the duration of their stay.
➤ Pets allowed with $50 fee per stay. Max 2 dogs under 60 lbs (pre-approval for larger). No cats or aggressive breeds. Keep pets off furniture, clean up after them, and crate if left alone.
➤ Exceeding maximum occupancy is not permitted.

1. Guests acknowledge that they will keep their noise level to a minimum after 10:00 pm; please be respectful of the neighbors.
2. No parties or events allowed.
**If small events are allowed: We welcome small, calm gatherings such as baby showers, family birthdays, and similar events. However, all events must be pre-approved in advance. Please provide details, including the number of guests and duration, for consideration. Large parties, loud gatherings, or disruptive events are strictly prohibited. Guests are responsible for ensuring all attendees respect house rules and neighborhood quiet hours. Unapproved events may result in cancellation of the reservation and additional fees.
3. Guest must provide us with a valid working phone number & guests listed on the reservation must report to us within 2 hours from the time of arrival if anything in regards to cleanliness does not meet their standards so we can help address the situation as soon as possible.
4. NO SMOKING or use of fire permitted in the rental; guest acknowledges that no `smoking` includes the use of vape pens and marijuana and `use of fire` includes the lighting of candles, incense, or sage. There will be a $200 charge per day of reservation if this rule is not followed.
5. There can not be any more than the allowed number of guests in or on the property at any one time, violation could lead to the immediate removal of all guests without a refund.
6. Late check-out fee of $50 (if not authorized) applies for check-outs after 11:00 am. We`re sorry we have to charge this but we pay our housekeepers based on the agreed-upon checkout time and if they are unable to clean we still have to pay them.
7. Guests who make reservations for over 30 days must sign our standard lease agreement and agree to a background check before check-in (it will be provided before check-in).
8. As part of our commitment to maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for all guests, we require a midterm cleaning for reservations lasting 30 days or longer. The midterm cleaning will take place on the 15th day of your reservation. This cleaning is mandatory and is designed to ensure the continued cleanliness and hygiene of the property.
9. The cleaning fee for the mandatory mid-stay clean will be deducted from your security deposit or through Airbnb resolutions if you booked via Airbnb.
10. This is a pet-friendly property! We’re glad if you were able to bring your pet along, but please note we have a few additional rules:

Please disclose pets at the time of booking. All pets must be added to your reservation so the applicable pet fee can be applied.
We are unable to host cats and breeds of dogs deemed aggressive, per our insurance policy.

Our farm dog, Maggie, is extremely friendly but may bark at cars and guests initially and then she wants to be your and your dog`s best friend. She will not harm you in any way, and if her presence ever becomes an issue, the owner is happy to keep her inside.
➤ Blueberry Season is from mid-June to late August. During this time, the blueberry bushes are open to the public for our U-pick season. The cottages are separate from the bushes, but please be aware of this if you are coming during blueberry season.
➤ During the Spring, Summer, and Fall, landscaping takes place on Thursday mornings and afternoons. This includes mowing, weed eating, and blowing around the houses.
➤ Starter kitchen and bathroom essentials are provided, but guests will need to supply disposables and restock items for the duration of their stay.
➤ Pets allowed (NO pets in the loft areas please) with $50 fee per stay. Max 2 dogs under 60 lbs (pre-approval for larger). No cats or aggressive breeds. Keep pets off furniture, clean up after them, and crate if left alone.
➤ Exceeding maximum occupancy is not permitted.
➤ No third-party bookings (must book under your own account).

1. Guests acknowledge that they will keep their noise level to a minimum after 10:00 pm; please be respectful of the neighbors

2. No parties or events allowed

3. Guest must provide us with a valid working phone number & guests listed on the reservation must report to us within 2 hours from the time of arrival if anything in regards to cleanliness does not meet their standards so we can help address the situation as soon as possible

4. NO SMOKING or use of fire permitted in the rental; guest acknowledges that no `smoking` includes the use of vape pens and marijuana and `use of fire` includes the lighting of candles, incense, or sage. There will be a $200 charge per day of reservation if this rule is not followed

5. There can not be any more than the allowed number of guests in or on the property at any one time, violation could lead to the immediate removal of all guests without a refund

6. Late check-out fee of $50 (if not authorized) applies for check-outs after 11:00 am. We`re sorry we have to charge this but we pay our housekeepers based on the agreed-upon checkout time and if they are unable to clean we still have to pay them

7. Guests who make reservations for over 30 days must sign our standard lease agreement and agree to a background check before check-in (it will be provided before check-in)

8. As part of our commitment to maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for all guests, we require a midterm cleaning for reservations lasting 30 days or longer. The midterm cleaning will take place on the 15th day of your reservation. This cleaning is mandatory and is designed to ensure the continued cleanliness and hygiene of the property

9. The cleaning fee for the mandatory mid-stay clean will be deducted from your security deposit or through Airbnb resolutions if you booked via Airbnb

10. No pets are allowed.

11. Excessively dirty units will incur an additional cleaning fee and will be evidenced with photos

12. For your security and protection the property is equipped with an exterior camera

13. Please remember to take all of your belongings with you upon checkout. Any items left behind will incur a $50 Mailing fee (separate from the cost of postage). We will do our best to send your items back to you within a week.

The owners have amazing taste, All the furniture and beds are not just attractive, they are very comfy and cozy. We really enjoyed the fire flies that came out as the sun was setting. There were so many that it was just magical. We saw deer every day. In the evening a train came thru in the valley as we were soaking in the hot tub and that was really cool. We are at the mercy of the calendar! The only way to guarantee early check-in is by booking the night before. If you want to take a gamble, you can wait until 24 hours before check-in to see if our schedule allows for it. If a guest is checking out the day of your arrival or if we have scheduled maintenance, early check-in may not be possible.
Late checkout will depend on the number of hours requested and if there is another guest coming that afternoon.

This property is only 2.7 miles from downtown Mentone on highway 117. It is only 6 miles from the beautiful DeSoto Falls. Hiking trails and much more to do and see that is only a short drive away.

This 1930s cabin is one of 12 built by an Art Colony who settled here early 1900s. It’s got a back yard trail that to the river one way and leads to Desoto State Park(3,502 acres) the other way! The whole area is surrounded by History. Beautiful stone fireplace, Peaceful and 3.4 miles from Desoto Falls. Just minutes from Downtown Mentone and Fort Payne. 5 miles from Little River Canyon. All the makings for a perfect retreat to Mentone Alabama!

Parking is easy and loading your stuff in is a breeze with this one level home! Plenty of room with this open floor plan! Hiking is just out your back door. The Rock Chapel is just a beautiful walk up the Alabama dirt road. Prepare for Peace and Relaxation!

Your retreat starts at the driveway surrounded by trees, leading to Tiny Bear Paw. A wonderful front porch welcomes you to enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. The living room boasts lux comfort with a cozy recliner + chaise lounge with laptop stand so you can still work in complete comfort! An electric fireplace can provide heat in the winter or turn off the heat and just enjoy the glow in the evenings. A wonderful work space with seating for two with USB plug-ins, provides a great space to work while on retreat. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need to make all your meals and snacks including plenty of dishes, pot and pans, a Keurig single cup coffee maker, coffee, creamer and sugar. A full spice rack is there if you need it as well as dishwasher, full size range and refrigerator with ice maker. From the kitchen, head up the stairs to the loft space for a nap or to dive into that new book you've been saving for vacay! Head back down the stairs and continue to the bedroom for a great nights sleep in the Queen bed complete with fresh linens and direct access to the back porch to take in nature and all the peace and quiet. The bathroom has a shower only and our fav shampoo, conditioner, and body wash and all the cozy towels you'll need for you stay. Venture outside to the fire pit area and enjoy the smokeless fire pit and plenty of seating as well as the charcoal grill. There is also a second kitchen in the attached in-law living-quarters. Washer/dryer are available to you if your adventures include some muddy encounters. Lots of sleeping configurations can be accommodated in the 8 bedrooms/6 bathroom retreat. Sleeps 20 comfortably. Two master suites on the main floor for easy access with a third bedroom located off that main level. The main living area of the home has several incredible gathering areas for large families including a large kitchen, den, and a family/recreational room. You have big windows throughout the home to enjoy the views and sunshine. Sit on the deck to enjoy the fresh mountain air and breeze, start a fire in the outdoor fire-pit, or grill for your whole gathering with the propane grill provided. This beautiful modern farmhouse is roughly 1000 square feet. It has a unique loft layout that you will only see in this home. It is great for a friends’ weekend with 2 bedrooms, with Queen beds on the main floor.

Other things to note
The loft bedrooms bring a unique element to your stay but can be difficult to get to. We would definitely recommend anyone with handicaps to stay in the two bedrooms on the main floor, as well as any children under the age of 5. WiFi coming soon!

We engage in pest control at all of our properties, however, due to the rural nature of some of our properties guests may encounter insects and other small creatures. This can include ladybugs, flies, scorpions, mice, etc.

The guest count you provide must be accurate as there can be additional guest fees. Notify us if you need to adjust the guest count before arrival. A fine of $25 per night will be applied for each undeclared guest.

Reminder: If a guest misses the checkout time, additional fees will be added. If more than 2 hours past checkout, we will charge for an additional day. Cameras are monitoring the exterior of the property.

Newly renovated cabin overlooking Little River in Mentone, AL. Spacious deck with hot tub, TV, and wood-burning fireplace with a perfect view of the river. DeSoto State Park, Desoto Falls, Little River Canyon, and the town of Mentone are all a short drive from our cabin. Chattanooga is less than an hour away with the Tennessee Aquarium, Creative Discovery Museum, and many great restaurants and shopping!

The space
Our newly renovated cabin has a full kitchen, living room with dining table, and wood burning fireplace. There is a master bedroom with queen bed and en suite bath. In addition, there is a loft with four twin beds. The steps to the loft are wooden and a little steep. (Please keep in mind for toddlers or older guests) There is also a half bath on the main floor. Our favorite spot is the new deck with large TV, wood burning fireplace and hot tub.

**Power outages do not ensure an automatic refund- a refund due to loss of power will be evaluated based on the severity of the event. Please contact us immediately so that we can be of assistance.

Other things to note
We have two paddle boards that you are welcome to use! In the summer, the camp adjacent to our property, is in full swing. The best time to be on the river is early morning or after 5:00 pm. If you are able to put the paddle boards on or in your car (they are inflatable), you may take them to the boat ramp at DeSoto Falls to paddle on Little River. Just let us know ahead of time, so we can have them ready! Also, because of the camp in the summer months, you will hear the kids on the river from the deck during daytime hours. (9:00am-5:00pm)

Come relax in the mountains and listen to the birds while sitting on the beautiful screened porch. It’s one half mile from down town Mentone.

The space
We have two queen size beds, each room has blackout blinds for a nice nights sleep. The kitchen is fully stocked for all your cooking needs including a coffee bar. Master bath has walk-in shower, guest bath has tub shower with both having hairdryers and all the essentials you will need for your stay. Living area has two comfy recliners, sofa and 50 inch smart TV. The best part is the large screened in porch to relax on. We also have a private wooded creek for you to walk on or just sit and enjoy!
