The cabin is pre-civil war in construction, it was reconstructed using the old mortar technique and then added on to in its current location. The Cabin sits on a private road behind a gate. Secluded is an understatement. Fenced yard for your doggies!. It is situated on a bluff overlooking the Crystal Clear East Fork of the Little River, just below a waterfall which can be heard as soon as you open the door to the car during the wetter seasons. We have an inviting front porch with a cozy antique swing where many a book has been read in the fragrant mountain air. The Cabin itself retains all of its antique charm as you enter the Great room with its enormous original stone double sided wood-burning fireplace serving the great-room and the Master bedroom both located on the lower floor. The Upstairs is separated by a staircase that leads to a private spacious upper loft that contains two Twin beds and a Queen Bed. There is a fully functional kitchen with stainless appliances/dishwasher/stove/oven/refrigerator/freezer. One Bathroom Downstairs, with High Efficency Maytag Washer and Dryer. Flat Screen TV with Apple TV/DVD/Inside/outside Stereo/Xbox/Wireless Internet/Dish Network/Central Heat and Air. The river runs right behind the cabin and there are stairs that lead directly to it. The cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Just a 5 minute hike to a private spot on the river to swim and hang out on a float. This place is great all you hear is the wildlife. You are completely off grid and Unplugged! Most cars can easily access the home and nearby areas. There is no public transportation, so bringing your own vehicle or renting one is preferred. While Uber and Lyft are available, getting a ride may not always be easy.

➤ Starter kitchen and bathroom essentials are provided, but guests will need to supply disposables and restock items for the duration of their stay.
➤ Pets allowed with $50 fee per stay. Max 2 dogs under 60 lbs (pre-approval for larger). No cats or aggressive breeds. Keep pets off furniture, clean up after them, and crate if left alone.

1. Guests acknowledge that they will keep their noise level to a minimum after 10:00 pm; please be respectful of the neighbors.
2. No parties or events allowed.
**If small events are allowed: We welcome small, calm gatherings such as baby showers, family birthdays, and similar events. However, all events must be pre-approved in advance. Please provide details, including the number of guests and duration, for consideration. Large parties, loud gatherings, or disruptive events are strictly prohibited. Guests are responsible for ensuring all attendees respect house rules and neighborhood quiet hours. Unapproved events may result in cancellation of the reservation and additional fees.
3. Guest must provide us with a valid working phone number & guests listed on the reservation must report to us within 2 hours from the time of arrival if anything in regards to cleanliness does not meet their standards so we can help address the situation as soon as possible.
4. NO SMOKING or use of fire permitted in the rental; guest acknowledges that no `smoking` includes the use of vape pens and marijuana and `use of fire` includes the lighting of candles, incense, or sage. There will be a $200 charge per day of reservation if this rule is not followed.
5. There can not be any more than the allowed number of guests in or on the property at any one time, violation could lead to the immediate removal of all guests without a refund.
6. Late check-out fee of $50 (if not authorized) applies for check-outs after 11:00 am. We`re sorry we have to charge this but we pay our housekeepers based on the agreed-upon checkout time and if they are unable to clean we still have to pay them.
7. Guests who make reservations for over 30 days must sign our standard lease agreement and agree to a background check before check-in (it will be provided before check-in).
8. As part of our commitment to maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for all guests, we require a midterm cleaning for reservations lasting 30 days or longer. The midterm cleaning will take place on the 15th day of your reservation. This cleaning is mandatory and is designed to ensure the continued cleanliness and hygiene of the property.
9. The cleaning fee for the mandatory mid-stay clean will be deducted from your security deposit or through Airbnb resolutions if you booked via Airbnb.
10. This is a pet-friendly property! We’re glad if you were able to bring your pet along, but please note we have a few additional rules:

Please disclose pets at the time of booking. All pets must be added to your reservation so the applicable pet fee can be applied.
We are unable to host cats and breeds of dogs deemed aggressive, per our insurance policy.

Our farm dog, Maggie, is extremely friendly but may bark at cars and guests initially and then she wants to be your and your dog`s best friend. She will not harm you in any way, and if her presence ever becomes an issue, the owner is happy to keep her inside.
➤ Blueberry Season is from mid-June to late August. During this time, the blueberry bushes are open to the public for our U-pick season. The cottages are separate from the bushes, but please be aware of this if you are coming during blueberry season.
➤ During the Spring, Summer, and Fall, landscaping takes place on Thursday mornings and afternoons. This includes mowing, weed eating, and blowing around the houses.
➤ Starter kitchen and bathroom essentials are provided, but guests will need to supply disposables and restock items for the duration of their stay.
➤ Pets allowed (NO pets in the loft areas please) with $50 fee per stay. Max 2 dogs under 60 lbs (pre-approval for larger). No cats or aggressive breeds. Keep pets off furniture, clean up after them, and crate if left alone.

1. Guests acknowledge that they will keep their noise level to a minimum after 10:00 pm; please be respectful of the neighbors

2. No parties or events allowed

3. Guest must provide us with a valid working phone number & guests listed on the reservation must report to us within 2 hours from the time of arrival if anything in regards to cleanliness does not meet their standards so we can help address the situation as soon as possible

4. NO SMOKING or use of fire permitted in the rental; guest acknowledges that no `smoking` includes the use of vape pens and marijuana and `use of fire` includes the lighting of candles, incense, or sage. There will be a $200 charge per day of reservation if this rule is not followed

5. There can not be any more than the allowed number of guests in or on the property at any one time, violation could lead to the immediate removal of all guests without a refund

6. Late check-out fee of $50 (if not authorized) applies for check-outs after 11:00 am. We`re sorry we have to charge this but we pay our housekeepers based on the agreed-upon checkout time and if they are unable to clean we still have to pay them

7. Guests who make reservations for over 30 days must sign our standard lease agreement and agree to a background check before check-in (it will be provided before check-in)

8. As part of our commitment to maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for all guests, we require a midterm cleaning for reservations lasting 30 days or longer. The midterm cleaning will take place on the 15th day of your reservation. This cleaning is mandatory and is designed to ensure the continued cleanliness and hygiene of the property

9. The cleaning fee for the mandatory mid-stay clean will be deducted from your security deposit or through Airbnb resolutions if you booked via Airbnb

10. No pets are allowed.

11. Excessively dirty units will incur an additional cleaning fee and will be evidenced with photos

12. For your security and protection the property is equipped with an exterior camera

13. Please remember to take all of your belongings with you upon checkout. Any items left behind will incur a $50 Mailing fee (separate from the cost of postage). We will do our best to send your items back to you within a week.

The owners have amazing taste, All the furniture and beds are not just attractive, they are very comfy and cozy. We really enjoyed the fire flies that came out as the sun was setting. There were so many that it was just magical. We saw deer every day. In the evening a train came thru in the valley as we were soaking in the hot tub and that was really cool. We are at the mercy of the calendar! The only way to guarantee early check-in is by booking the night before. If you want to take a gamble, you can wait until 24 hours before check-in to see if our schedule allows for it. If a guest is checking out the day of your arrival or if we have scheduled maintenance, early check-in may not be possible.
Late checkout will depend on the number of hours requested and if there is another guest coming that afternoon.

The space
The giant boulders on the property are wonderful and unique. The cabin is small and cozy, but since the bedroom is separated from the main level, there are places to spread out. Our kitchen includes basic equipment for simple cooking, and we also have a gas grill and an electric ice cream maker (no rock salt or hand cranking required).

Anything on our property is fair to use, but please be respectful of neighbors on both sides. Please note that the Gazebo near our deck is not on our property, this belongs to our neighbors.

Other things to note
Please note the following:

(1) We now have two AC units in the summer, and propane heater available for winter.
(2) GPS and phones may not work when you get close, be sure to have your route mapped in advance.
(3) Stairs to the upper floor are quite steep.

Guests may enjoy the private dock and two kayaks available for guest use. The circular gravel driveway is gated. The site has a slope down to the lake with steps down to the lake. Please note that a neighboring friendly dog and cat may come say hello during your visit. There is wildlife in the area.

Lake Lahusage is a 29 acre lake formed on the Little River when a dam was built in the 1920s. The "Broken Dam" is a beautiful site down river. The property is near the beloved town of Mentone, known as the "Summer Camp Capitol of the World". Mentone's attractions and restaurants are often mentioned in Southern Living Magazine and other publications. The area is surrounded by natural beauty, scenic vistas, brow views and mountain crafts and art. Desoto State Park, Desoto Falls, Little River Canyon are all nearby in NE Alabama. Cloudland State Park, James H 'Sloppy' Floyd State Park, McLemore Golf Club, and Lookout Mountain Flight Park are all within driving distance in Georgia. Chattanooga, TN is approximately one-hour away for day trips.

Host storage cabinets are marked and should not be accessed without prior host permission. The deck box on the deck has amenities for guest use. Living Room:
The floor-to-ceiling wood-burning fireplace is the center piece for the comfy living room. The entire family can cozy up on the huge reclining leather sectional and warm up by the fire while playing board games or streaming your favorite shows on the large screen TV.

Dixieland Delight does have fast WiFi for streaming or if you must, working!

Kitchen and Dining:
The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need to make a delicious holiday meal! There is a Keurig with pods, a drip coffee maker and even a tea kettle and air frier!

There is a dining table and 3 bar stools for additional seating for all of your family meals.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms:
Dixieland Delight has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Downstairs has a full-sized bed that has its own door leading out to the screened-in back porch. You can watch deer roam through the backyard from the comfort of your comfy bed.

Also downstairs is a bunk room with 2 sets of bunk beds, making this the perfect space for multiple families, large families, couples and small families alike.

A full bathroom with a tub and shower combo is downstairs.

Upstairs is the master suite with an extra-comfy queen-sized bed and huge a bathroom complete with double sinks, a large soaker tub and stand-alone shower.

Outdoors:
There is an open front porch with a swing to enjoy the sunrises and a screened-in back porch with tons of seating for the entire family to watch the multitude of deer and other wildlife that frequent the property.

An electric grill and even a smoker are available for use as well as a fire pit area with a picnic table perfect for roasting hot dogs and making s’mores!

The space
Mostly open floor plan with two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a queen bed and a twin. The second bedroom has three bunk beds. Each room has a connected full bath. There is a half bath in the living area. Going by beds alone, 9 people can sleep comfortably. There is also a futon bed and several couches that could be treated as extra sleeping area if needed. Fully stocked kitchen with working appliances and keurig coffee maker. There is a back porch patio looking over the water with a working grill and plenty of picnic space. There are stairs leading from the back patio down to ground level but not all the way to the water. Please be advised that the ground/stairs are very steep and can be slippery after rain and to use caution when exploring the back yard. There is a small fire pit down by the water and a canoe that is available for use along with floaties and life jackets. WiFi and high speed internet are available as well as a landline phone. Cell service can be spotty depending on the phone/carrier, so feel free to use the landline for any calls.

Living Room is equipped with a selection of smart TV options for rainy indoor days. The bedrooms are also now equipped with Roku TVs to ensure that you have access to a multitude of media without having to login to the WiFi or use your personal phone.

For Coffee you have the option of using either ground coffee or Keurig K-Cups. We recommend a medium grind for the Ninja coffee maker.

Our Cabin is equipped with smart home technology and setup to be as energy efficient as possible. For instance, if doors or windows are detected left open for more than 20 minutes the thermostat will automatically disable itself. To the same extent we are notified if any smoke or leak detectors are triggered.

The carport is also equipped with a Tesla High Power Wall Connector for Tesla Electric Vehicles.

The space
Built around 1947 by Lawson Bailey, this rustic cabin has created so many wonderful memories throughout the years. Unlike many of the cabins in the area, it does have central heat/air and wifi. The wood stove creates a beautiful historic backdrop in the living room, while the fireplace is one of the best on the mountain! This cabin is very spacious, but cozy. Your family will be able to gather in the huge living room together or spread out for some alone time! There are 4 bedrooms and 4 full size sofas (one is a sleeper sofa).
Relax and enjoy being in the middle of nature, critters and all. You might see a bald eagle flying above the lake or Curtis the racoon wandering around outside, an occasional spider, lizard, and even a black bear! There are endless things to do: swimming, fishing, kayaking, grilling on the deck, playing cards on the upstairs screened porch, reading in the library.... many local family members and friends have enjoyed weekends here and we hope you make the best memories with your family and friends as well.
**WiFi** is available. Cell phone reception is not the best, as this area of the mountain does not have a local tower. You will be able to get a bit of service outside on the deck or around windows! PLEASE NOTE that wifi does have outages sometimes in this area and could go down for no reason at all, but that rarely happens anymore. Just worth mentioning!

Take a break and unwind in this peaceful cabin. This 1 BR cabin is near Mentone, AL, and Desoto State Park. It features a King Size Bed and a fully furnished kitchen. This cabin has an electric fireplace, a television, washer and dryer, and a covered private hot tub on the back porch. Unlike most other cabins, we do not charge a cleaning fee. There is a two-night minimum on the weekends with one-night stays okay during the week.

Come relax at Ease Place in this centrally located home! Perfect for families or couples, this two bedroom home is within minutes of shops and restaurants, and a short drive to many local attractions. Enjoy a serene view, a bonfire under the stars, or a short walk to Moon Lake Village.
