- "The cabin was all we hoped for. the property was fantastic will stay again" - "Cutest cabin and beautiful landscape set back in the trees away from the highway. Not too far from the highway but far enough to not be bothered by traffic. We were sad that we didn't see any bears. Hoyt is very responsive to messages and questions. Super easy check in and out. There is another review that states how difficult the driveway is. Not true!! Driveway is self-explanatory. No trouble driving into the cabin or out. It rained every day we were there except for one day and the day we were leaving. Even in the rain, this property is beautiful. My only caution is if you cannot tolerate an extremely firm bed, bring an egg crate or memory foam topper with you. We purchased a memory foam topper from Walmart. HOPE YOU SEE BEARS :)"

We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch that has a lake view. We took full advantage of the dock, kayaks and SUPs. We rented a boat one day and explored the beautiful lake. This cottage is a great mountain lake escape!" - "Family had a great time." - "This was a great get away for my family. The Dancing Bear has the feel of a cottage hidden by a lake even with homes on either side. Unlike a lot of the places around it, Dancing Bear is set back in a wooded lot that gives it that 'hidden cottage' feel, but allows enough light in to not be gloomy. We had someone on the back porch constantly, when we weren't on the floating dock, or in the yard, or the hot tub. We had our pup with us and the road this is off of is a perfect one mile walk loop (that is relatively flat for being in the mountains) to walk him on. The two kayaks there are nicer and more comfortable than ours, so we left ours on the trailer and fished and explored off of them. We had a couple of fires and a lot of s'mores at the firepit which is right off of the water and so nice at night. Being a camping family, we were a little surprised that we didn't see the glow of more fires along the edge of the lake at night. Correspondence with Corey (the owner) was excellent! We had a minor issue, and he had his guy come take care of it quickly! Town is 10 minutes away either way you go on the road, so when we forgot something, Ingles was a quick and easy trip. That being said, most everything we needed was already there. I love staying at places where instead of feeling like a hotel with extra room, it feels like you are home-sitting for a friend. This is what our experience at The Dancing Bear felt like. Highly recommended! If we can swing it, we'll be back!"

Double sliding glass doors open on to a large private deck boasting of beautiful mountain ranges perfect for dining, also with fire pit area. Step inside to a large fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living space with TV. The bedroom , with queen bed and an electric fireplace is cozy and romantic with plenty of closet space, and nice bathroom with walk in shower.
Guest access
Pull into the driveway and straight into the specific quest parking spot. Walk to the left onto the bottom deck and around back to the set of double glass doors to enter the apartment. The downstairs deck is private and the fire pit area is right off of the deck.
Other things to note
Please do not leave any food or trash anywhere out side as this attracts bears and other wildlife! If you need to empty your garbage just let us know and we will be happy to help you.

- "Perfect Getaway for two! The view was stunning and property close to town and several places! Jerry was very responsive and answered all questions when needed. Would definitely visit again!" - "Our anniversary was made perfect by this jewel of a find! The first thing we noticed and were enamored by was the view! The photos don’t do it justice! And thanks to large windows, this view is visible when you sit in the living room, when you are eating at the dining room table, and from the bed when you wake up. The owners paid attention to almost every detail with the decor and fixtures throughout. Love all the blues! You will LOVE the shower. The bed is extremely comfortable with nice linens and pillows. We are two large people and just hate it when owners have a double bed but advertise it as a queen. This is a true queen size bed with space to sleep not bumping each other all night! The kitchen has all you need, with a full size fridge and the cutest little stove. Just know the oven cooks faster than a standard size, so deduct a few minutes from anything you bake. Thank you for the full size coffee maker and NO KEURIG! Loved it! (PS Ingles is close for your grocery shopping needs.) Things to note: the road up is narrow, steep, and gravel. I felt safe in hubby’s 4X4 but would be scared to drive my 4-door sedan up or down. I’m also wimpy about things like that. Bring some firewood for the fire pit. The owners make sure not to book another family downstairs simultaneously as your visit so you have the property to yourself. The property is completely private, as in when you are on the back balcony there is no cabin or house to the left or right; very secluded. If I had to fix or change one thing about the place, it’s what other reviews have stated- there is nowhere to put clothes. There is a small closet with 2-3 wire hangers and a few plastic baby-size hangers. So bring your own hangers. The bed has beautiful, very large throw pillows but there really is only one place to put them out of the way when you sleep- bottom of the closet. All other space is walking space. I can see two places where a small dresser would fit. One is the corner where the wooden rocking duck is. The other is the corner where the succulent planter is. Might have to forgo a little decor to make it more useful/practical. As it was, we lived out of our duffel bags, which were always in the way- no space for them so they stayed on or under the dining room table. Imagine 3 or 4 people staying here. One or two hooks on the wall in the bathroom would also be useful. Small detail. Nevertheless we loved how charming this place was and would return again and again!"

This property is a new home so blinds or curtains have not made it on all the windows yet and the driveway is a tad steep, but nothing we couldn’t handle! The interior and exterior of the home are so well thought out and just gorgeous! We will definitely stay again."

- "Spent our honeymoon at this cabin and loved it! The views are fantastic, and it is so peaceful there. The outside firepit is a great place to hangout, the kitchen is fantastic for cooking, and the living room is a wonderful place to unwind after exploring the local area. Brasstown Bald, Bell Mountain, Lake Chatuge, and Helen are all nearby and ensure you have lots to do during your stay. That being said, the cabin itself is a great destination and one we plan on going back to very soon."

If brings third adult - be advised that the fold down couch is small. Please haul out your trash from area. Nearby springfed pond has a deep areas in cold water so watch small children carefully. No fishing in pond. The hot water tank is a small camper tank- made for a short shower.

Welcome to the Twin Mountain Community! Hiker's Haven private guest suite (lower level) is connected to the top level of our cabin via a locked stairwell and shared laundry room. We occupy the top level and have our own designated parking.

Designated parking just for you is located at the rear of the cabin. Enjoy the tree house feel as you enter your own private gate leading down to a relaxing deck. Enter the cabin from your own keyless door to a private bedroom with its own kitchenette, full bathroom, and workspace with Wi-Fi connection.

The shared laundry is available from 5 pm to 8 pm with a change of scrubs located in the closet to allow you to wash a full set of clean clothes.

We use the top level so you may hear us walking around but you won't see us unless we are outside.

Please know that the A/C & heat thermostat is located on the main floor and can be remotely adjusted to a pleasant temperature by contacting us by phone or text. However, there is a portable fan and an electric fireplace in your suite for additional comfort.

Appalachian trail guests are welcome to make arrangements for pick-up and drop-offs into town and back to their location to continue their journey for an additional fee.

Guest access
Hiker's Haven is a private guest suite located on the bottom level of our cabin. We occupy the top level. Access the suite with self check-in anytime after 4 pm from your own designated parking, entry gate, and keyless door. An access code will be provided prior to your arrival. The shared laundry room is available to you from 5 pm to 8 pm.

2. NO Third party bookings allowed. Any falsely made bookings will be cancelled. Airbnb offers gift certificates that allows guests to book their own reservation.

Private cozy camper in the mountains of Hiawassee (not in campground). Kitchen includes all you need to create meals. Queen-sized bed in bedroom and queen futon in the den and picnic table. Leaf season is amazing; seasonal mountain views, abundant wildlife in a quiet location. Dining, trails, parks, hiking and beautiful Lake Chatuge with beaches. Fire pit, outdoor chairs, corn hole and disc golf, sounds of rushing stream nearby. T-mobile wifi and our cells are Verizon and they both work great.

The space
Sunny Gap is a great place to relax and cozy-up after having all-day adventures. We’ve modestly priced this rental so you can enjoy the mountains and all the fun and dining surrounding you. Open the windows and enjoy the sounds of birds and a close by rushing stream.

There is a private bedroom with closets and a queen bed with extra blankets and pillows.

There is a futon couch that folds out into a queen bed in the den. The extra cushion is wrapped and stored under the futon. The sheets and blankets for the futon are in the upper den cabinets.

There is a futon chair that folds out into a small toddler bed.

The kitchen dining table also folds down into a large sitting area or a full bed.

As a reminder, local neighbors periodically walk their pups in the mornings and evenings on the quiet road your campsite is located on. They are quiet and kind neighbors. Don't be afraid to say hi as they are very friendly. You'll have plenty of privacy but we are a tight-knit community and look out for all that visit.

There are multiple cabinets all throughout the camper for storage. Underneath the kitchen table seating the side doors open for additional storage.

Guest access
The door lock has a key box and code and you will be provided with the code prior to your stay. Parking is easy and is beside the camper. Although there are rarely any vehicles on the road, please be sure to park on or right at the gravel area. Your space is the camper, the immediate gravel area and wooded areas on the sides and back of the camper. Sunny Gap is a work in progress and we are adding amenities as we go along. The road in front of the camper and up the hill directly in front of the camper is a circle that takes you higher and then down and loops around to Ruby Lake where you drove in to the campsite. It’s a great walk - just keep making lefts and you will have just under a two-mile walk back to the campsite.

Other things to note
Local attractions - Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds hosts a beautiful show of Christmas lights for you to walk through and take pictures. Spring and summer bring many events like rodeos, music, concerts and car shows. There are also lots of gardens to walk through. There are many shows throughout the year and lots of vendor sales all throughout the year. Helen is a thirty-minute ride over the mountains and is a beautiful Bavarian-styled little town with summer tubing in the river and tons of eateries and shopping - also dog friendly (leashed)! Helen also hosts Oktoberfest featuring various ales and fine dining - and funnel cakes! Lots for the kids to enjoy! The candy and fudge shops are amazing. The Christmas lights are incredibly detailed and there's even a roller coaster. There are several Christmas ornament shops and handmade toy shops.

Kitchen has pots, pans, utensils, dish soap, scrubbing pad, plates, coffee mugs, glasses and bowls.

Depending on the number of guests and the length of the stay, plenty of towels, wash cloths and hand towels will be provided. Towel hangers are also provided. We conserve water and respect resources - please hang your towels and wash rags up to dry and use another set when needed. 🚰

Linens for the private bedroom are provided. Linens for the futon bed in the den and the toddler bed in the den are in the cabinets in the bedroom.

A couple of bundles of fire wood will be provided. If you need more, a nominal fee will be charged or you’re able to pick up small loads all around the area nearby.

For additional outdoor fun, there is frisbee golf installed - great exercise, fun competition! Under the camper is a storage box with corn hole boards. We also have a few books and indoor games for late evenings with the family or rainy days when you want to stay in and relax.

Well-behaved, house broken pups welcome. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET OR CHILD UNATTENDED. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET ALONE IN THE CAMPER AT ANY TIME. PLEASE KEEP PETS OFF THE FURNITURE.

NO SMOKING, VAPING, INCENSE OR CANDLES INSIDE THE CAMPER. Please dispose of cigarette butts in the trash once you are certain the cigarette is out.

Please do not remove anything that is provided for your use in the camper.

Some of our neighbors walk their dogs on the abandoned road in front of the camper. They are quiet, nice people and will throw their hand up and say hi.

The neighborhood has a citizen neighborhood and we have a sheriff's deputy nearby that helps to curtail any loud ATV's. The neighborhood watch folks ride around periodically on a golf cart and will throw their hands up and say hi so you may see someone turn into the road and turn around at the bottom of the hill.

Pets: We love, love, love offering you the option of bringing your pets. We do upcharge just a bit as it requires a very thorough hair-picking - triple vacuuming of the e tire camper and furniture cleaning for our future guests. We are so happy to report all pets that have visited have been amazing.

This adorable rustic one bedroom is just the thing for couples, but there is also a sleeping loft if you want to bring the kids along. Enjoy sipping coffee on the porch each morning and watch the fire at the fire pit as you sit under the evening stars. Modern convenience with a log cabin feel on a wooded lot. The Coop is close to all the trails and not far from the lake. It's located next to Bald Mountain Park. Helen and Blue Ridge are only 30 minutes away if you enjoy sight seeing and shopping.

The space
There are 2 private bedrooms with queen beds, 1 with attached bath. An alcove off the hallway has a double bed. Guest bath has tub/ shower combo. En suite - shower.

Living room has large smart tv with recliner sofa and 2 comfy rockers. There is also a wood burning fireplace insert.

Kitchen is well equipped with all of the dishes and pots/pans you might need. Cooking basics, such as flour, sugar and oil and a large selection of spices are provided.

For enjoying the outside and the babbling creek, there are chairs and a swing creek side and rockers plus a folding table and chairs on the large screened in porch overlooking the back yard and creek.
