It is perfectly situated above a large chattering creek that can be seen and heard while relaxing or dining on the porch. The picturesque stairway down through the tree canopy will take you to a picnic table, bench and firepit right beside the creek. Be sure to take your fishing pole because you're sure to see a rainbow trout or two on the 120 ft of shoreline right on the property. Perfect water playground for children of all ages. Inside the cabin, you’ll find a bedroom with a king bed, a bedroom with 2 twin beds and a single sleeper sofa in the living room. Sunnyside Chalet has everything you need to relax. We have wireless internet. All Linens are provided, the bedspread is washed between each visit. Sleeps 4 comfortably with a king bed in the Master Bedroom and bunk beds set up in the bunk house. Kids love sleeping in the bunk house! We have smart TVs, with YouTube and many other free Internet services. A fully functional kitchen is provided with everything you need. Great back porch to watch the kids, birds, and other activities on the lake. You will spend hours relaxing on the porch with the swing and glider. We have games and books to help entertain your family on those rainy days.
SunnySide Chalet is lakefront on Lake Chatuge. The front lawn is pretty level for a game of volley ball or throwing a football. Lake Chatuge is approximately 7,200 acres of lake and 133 miles of shoreline. SunnySide Chalet is a nice place to relax, watch birds, fish, and play in the lake.

- "The cabin was all we hoped for. the property was fantastic will stay again" - "Cutest cabin and beautiful landscape set back in the trees away from the highway. Not too far from the highway but far enough to not be bothered by traffic. We were sad that we didn't see any bears. Hoyt is very responsive to messages and questions. Super easy check in and out. There is another review that states how difficult the driveway is. Not true!! Driveway is self-explanatory. No trouble driving into the cabin or out. It rained every day we were there except for one day and the day we were leaving. Even in the rain, this property is beautiful. My only caution is if you cannot tolerate an extremely firm bed, bring an egg crate or memory foam topper with you. We purchased a memory foam topper from Walmart. HOPE YOU SEE BEARS :)"

The unit we were renting had a conflict one weekend during our term and we had to find another place locally. I came across this unit that allowed pets and had enough room. Once we got there we wanted to continue renting it because it was so nice. It is an upstairs unit but has an elevator and in our case with all our stuff worked out great. A great view from rear deck to relax on. Pool located outside of this unit. Would love to rent again when on a vacation and not just a temp housing situation. - "Our family of four & dog enjoyed our stay at Dancing Bear. The property is in a great location being right on the lake & a short drive to town. We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch that has a lake view. We took full advantage of the dock, kayaks and SUPs. We rented a boat one day and explored the beautiful lake. This cottage is a great mountain lake escape!" - "Family had a great time." - "This was a great get away for my family. The Dancing Bear has the feel of a cottage hidden by a lake even with homes on either side. Unlike a lot of the places around it, Dancing Bear is set back in a wooded lot that gives it that 'hidden cottage' feel, but allows enough light in to not be gloomy. We had someone on the back porch constantly, when we weren't on the floating dock, or in the yard, or the hot tub. We had our pup with us and the road this is off of is a perfect one mile walk loop (that is relatively flat for being in the mountains) to walk him on. The two kayaks there are nicer and more comfortable than ours, so we left ours on the trailer and fished and explored off of them. We had a couple of fires and a lot of s'mores at the firepit which is right off of the water and so nice at night. Being a camping family, we were a little surprised that we didn't see the glow of more fires along the edge of the lake at night. Correspondence with Corey (the owner) was excellent! We had a minor issue, and he had his guy come take care of it quickly! Town is 10 minutes away either way you go on the road, so when we forgot something, Ingles was a quick and easy trip. That being said, most everything we needed was already there. I love staying at places where instead of feeling like a hotel with extra room, it feels like you are home-sitting for a friend. This is what our experience at The Dancing Bear felt like. Highly recommended! If we can swing it, we'll be back!"

Double sliding glass doors open on to a large private deck boasting of beautiful mountain ranges perfect for dining, also with fire pit area. Step inside to a large fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living space with TV. The bedroom , with queen bed and an electric fireplace is cozy and romantic with plenty of closet space, and nice bathroom with walk in shower.

Pull into the driveway and straight into the specific quest parking spot. Walk to the left onto the bottom deck and around back to the set of double glass doors to enter the apartment. The downstairs deck is private and the fire pit area is right off of the deck.

Please do not leave any food or trash anywhere out side as this attracts bears and other wildlife! If you need to empty your garbage just let us know and we will be happy to help you.

With its scenic setting on the shores of Lake Chatuge amid the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, the small city of Hiawassee, Georgia, is home to a large number of outdoor attractions. The city's moniker, which comes from the Cherokee word for "meadow," gives only a hint of the nearby natural wonders. Among them is Brasstown Bald -- at 4,784 feet above sea level, Georgia's highest mountain -- along with numerous hiking trails, scenic overlooks and tumbling waterfalls. Many of the mountain cascades are short drive south, midway between Hiawassee and the neighboring towns of Blairsville and 30 min to Helen. That's right, 30 Min to Helen with tubing in the summer and oktoberfest and more in the winter, and a German Town all the time.

All of this and more are near Sky Hawk Chalet. 1ST BEDROOM- The main chalet has a large spacious master bedroom with king bed. 2ND BEDROOM- bunk beds located in the loft upstairs. 3RD BEDROOM- The guest house has a single bed with a trundle and it's own bathroom and shower…The best part, you get both spaces when you stay! The coffee nook is great for your morning coffee on the large screened in porch with mountain and lake views. Guest house has a mini fridge, standard coffee maker and all you need for coffee, and a sink.

There is ample parking on the rear entrance of the home. There is one parking space at the front entrance on Morgan Rd-- drive past the home and turn left on Morgan Rd and you will see the front entrance. Firewood is not provided.

Dahlonega had a very fun and interactive gold mining tour which the kids loved and Blairsville had a cool distillery we loved! Helen was WAY over rated in our opinion and we would likely not go back there. Also, take yourselves up to Brasstown Bald and see 360 views at the highest point in GA. We did a beautiful hike at the High Shoals Falls Trail and didn’t see anyone else on the trail. It was a great time, kids loved it. Pack a lunch and enjoy the second waterfall. Such a beautiful area!"

- "Perfect Getaway for two! The view was stunning and property close to town and several places! Jerry was very responsive and answered all questions when needed. And thanks to large windows, this view is visible when you sit in the living room, when you are eating at the dining room table, and from the bed when you wake up. The owners paid attention to almost every detail with the decor and fixtures throughout. Love all the blues! You will LOVE the shower. The bed is extremely comfortable with nice linens and pillows. We are two large people and just hate it when owners have a double bed but advertise it as a queen. This is a true queen size bed with space to sleep not bumping each other all night! The kitchen has all you need, with a full size fridge and the cutest little stove. Just know the oven cooks faster than a standard size, so deduct a few minutes from anything you bake. Thank you for the full size coffee maker and NO KEURIG! Loved it! (PS Ingles is close for your grocery shopping needs.) Things to note: the road up is narrow, steep, and gravel. I felt safe in hubby’s 4X4 but would be scared to drive my 4-door sedan up or down. I’m also wimpy about things like that. Bring some firewood for the fire pit. The owners make sure not to book another family downstairs simultaneously as your visit so you have the property to yourself. The property is completely private, as in when you are on the back balcony there is no cabin or house to the left or right; very secluded. If I had to fix or change one thing about the place, it’s what other reviews have stated- there is nowhere to put clothes. There is a small closet with 2-3 wire hangers and a few plastic baby-size hangers. So bring your own hangers. The bed has beautiful, very large throw pillows but there really is only one place to put them out of the way when you sleep- bottom of the closet. All other space is walking space. I can see two places where a small dresser would fit. One is the corner where the wooden rocking duck is. The other is the corner where the succulent planter is. Might have to forgo a little decor to make it more useful/practical. As it was, we lived out of our duffel bags, which were always in the way- no space for them so they stayed on or under the dining room table. Imagine 3 or 4 people staying here. One or two hooks on the wall in the bathroom would also be useful. Small detail. Nevertheless we loved how charming this place was and would return again and again!"

Azalea is a two story cabin with a king bedroom and large bedside jetting jacuzzi tub on second level as well as a 1/2 bath on upper level. Main level of Azalea cabin has a full bath, a great room with a new sleeper sofa, a living room and dining area, as well as a full kitchen. It also has a Stone gas fireplace (seasonal use only), a Roku Streaming TV. An oversized, wrap-around porch with a swing and a grill.

All bed and bath linens, paper goods, garbage bags, and starter soaps are provided. We provide links to areas of interest in the nearby townships of Hiawassee, GA, to help guide you from your cabin to waterfalls, hiking trails, wine vineyards, restaurants, Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, and other seasonal activities and events.

- "The cabin was perfect. Hummingbirds, cardinals and other beautiful native birds enjoyed the feeders on the porch as we enjoyed watching them. The mountain views were peaceful and starting our day and ending our day on the porch was one of our favorite moments. The location also lends itself to easily visit surrounding towns, waterfalls and hiking paths. The cabin had everything we needed. We are looking forward to returning to this sweet spot."
