SLEEPING OVERVIEW = 3 double beds in private rooms, a bunk room with four bunks and two sleeping lofts. NOTE: the lofts are not ideal for younger children because of the height and vertical ladders; 
UPPER LEVEL = kitchen, dining/living area, screened porch, 2 bedrooms with balconies, 2 bathrooms, bunk room and sleeping lofts;
 LOWER LEVEL = a bedroom, bathroom, large comfortable living area with television, games/books and an adjacent laundry room. French doors lead to a screened porch with a ping pong table and corn hole boards.

LAKE ACCESS:

About 30 steps through the trees will take you down to the large 2-level boathouse, which is stocked with floats and canoes. There is very little boat traffic in this cove making it a peaceful setting for swimmers and paddlers. Hall’s Marina is just across the lake and visible from the boathouse.

There is parking for approximately 3 cars. NOTE: the driveway is very steep. Drivers will probably want to put their vehicle in a low gear. This is not an ideal driveway for large vans or trailers. ***Please take this into consideration before making travel plans.***

- "We had such a momentous time the first time we were there, we had to go back! The house is beautifully situated in the woods on Lake Rabun. It’s centrally located with lots to do in Clayton and lovely boutiques in Lakemont. Can’t wait to go back!" - "We loved our stay at this property. We are longtime residents and visitors of Lake Rabun and this home was very well appointed for lake living! Every time you turn a corner, they had what you needed...or what you didn't know you needed. Comfortable and cozy with plenty of room to spread out. We loved the porches amongst the trees and sitting above the lake listening to the waterfall in the back of the cove. Our kids loved the downstairs living area stocked with books, games and movies. And the adjacent lower screen porch with ping pong and games was a huge hit- with the adults too. The boathouse is easier to access via the stairs than I thought and a lovely walk through the rhododendrons and mountain laurel leads you to the top of the boathouse. They even have a large cooler on top of the boathouse for you to use! Win! Unique to this property is full access to the boathouse and the various floats, canoes, paddleboards, etc. This is not always the case with many rentals on the lake. So this is a huge plus! The cove is one of the best on the lake as it remains calm and ideal for swimming and floating or just sitting and staring at the deep blue-green Lake Rabun water. Review the parking notes under "About this Property" on the listing. It can be a bit tricky but expected with mountain property...don't let that hold you back from this awesome home. Beautiful and unique lakefront home on the most desirable part of Lake Rabun! Situated near the dam, Hall's marina, the pavilion, historic Lakemont and fabulous restaurants. Home features 3 master bedrooms each with a king bed and lake views (one also has a twin daybed), a cozy bunk room for 4, and another bedroom with 2 twin beds. There are 4 1/2 large bathrooms, including oversized jacuzzi & steam shower in top floor master. Newer construction with high ceilings, modern appliances, and amazing lake front and mountain views! The house is nestled very close to the shore with easy access ! Drive right up to the front door to unload, and walk out from the terrace level directly into the spacious, 2 story covered boathouse! Enjoy cool mountain air and gentle breezes from 2 wrap around porches! Relax in the hammock, porch swing, or dive off the top floor of the boathouse into deep water. - "The home is situated on a working farm outside of Clarksville, GA. Very peaceful, pretty and private setting. Home was immaculately clean and very comfortable. Has large kitchen area open to dining and living areas. Bedrooms and bathrooms are off of these areas plus there is a loft that will sleep 2-3 people. We did not use that area and felt like it would be most comfortable for children. Owner was very prompt providing information as needed and answering questions sent via text. Overall, great experience!"

"Hikers Rest" is the PERFECT location to rest your weary bones after a day of Rabun County adventures. Nestled perfectly near the Georgia Mountains best hiking/biking trails.... Close to great waterfalls and lake/river activities.

It is in a very peaceful setting, yet you are close to Clayton, Georgia, where there are reataurants, grocery stores and such. They have a huge deck on the back, that we sat out on both nights, right in the woods. Also right down the road is Tallulah Gorge. It is definitely a place to check out. Another place to check out is a little road side store called Goats on the Roof. You have to check it out. The owner, Pete, was also a great guy. He called us on our way home to see how our visit was. I highly recommend renting this property for the week or weekend."

- "great property, roomy. Great Views. Awesome family Vacation" - "Great place for multiple families, however 1 house is new and updated, but the other 2 kitchen/ living areas are very outdated and old feeling. The main community toilet in the main house clogged up after 1 use, I spoke to management through text, it was handled by a plumber, but it did take almost 24 hours to get fixed and was very unable for half of the trip. The kitchen is well stocked with supplies but could use updated utensils and cook wear. The fire pit, hot tub, boat, life jackets of all sizes available and in working order. The lake and environment are absolutely breathtaking and overall, amazing home and location! We would go back! Thank you! ❤️"

- "What a great find & amazing location, direct access off main highway and minutes from, Fun hiking trails, Lake Rabun, Clayton downtown & Tallulah Falls. Plenty of parking space for our 42’ RV & motorcycle trailer. Large porch with comfortable patio seating & Adirondack chairs directly on the River. We enjoyed smores while relaxing to the sound of the river and catching trout. The rooms were clean, beds are comfortable and best is 2 living areas with different TVs. We would recommend it and we will be back for our annual motorcycle trip."

WONDERFUL LAKE HOUSE. THIS HOUSE HAS A 3 NIGHT MINIMUM, AND A MAXIMUM OF 10 GUESTS ALLOWED INCLUDING DAY GUESTS. POWER BOATS AND THE 2 BOAT HOISTS (WHICH ARE LOCATED INSIDE THE BOATHOUSE) ARE EXCLUDED FROM THE RENTAL. The comfortable 3 level timber frame was built in 1999. Sleeps up to 10. Upstairs: one open loft bedroom with double bed; main floor: 1 bedroom with double bed. Huge picture windows overlook the broad sweeping 'treetops'' deck (two beautiful trees artfully growing through deck) then look across the Narrows of the lake way below, and then to forested ridges across the lake.

Old heart pine floors on main level, Berber carpet in loft , and slate floors on lower level main area with heart pine in bedrooms.

Steep pine panelled stairway with heart pine steps up to loft , and another down to lower level.

A slice of Canada in the far Northeast corner of Georgia with mature hardwoods: tall white pines, spruce, hemlock and fir trees . The house is settled on a slope with 100 steps through woods down to boathouse, and close to dirt road behind it. Property includes buffer of over 8 steep forested acres on Mt. Macy across dirt road .

The two story boathouse sits on the lake, complete with a partly covered upper deck plus adjoining dock and swimming cove. Great for entertaining or enjoying cocktails while watching the sun set over the Georgia mountains.

BE ADVISED THAT THERE ARE ALOT OF STEPS (AROUND 100) FROM THE HOUSE DOWN TO THE BOATHOUSE

Boathouse comes with a canoe and 2 kayaks, but power boats and boathouse boat hoists are EXCLUDED. Power boats and ski do's may be rented separately from independent boat rental companies, and attached to dock by two sets of (outside) boatwhips on either side of the boathouse during the rental. The boathouse offers a perfect setting for a hot summer's day swim, relaxing on floats, or fishing off of the dock. The boathouse also offers a slide, fun for young children. There is a tiny beach area in the foliage behind the dock on which the slide is located, where supervised young children can play in shallow water. Otherwise the water is 37 feet deep off the boathouse. .

Birdwatcher's paradise: wide variety of birds come to the feeders, and if you are quiet about an hour before midnight, the fearless FLYING SQUIRRELS will quietly swoop in to the feeders on the broad treetops deck, often in groups.

Other wildlife sighted on the property include an adult Black Bear doing a pirouette on our deck railing to reach the bird feeder, black racers, bullfrogs, water snakes, crows, numerous birds, chipmunks, squirrels, deer , bees and a wide variety of fish , some quite large. But this property is not for hunters.

The bunk room boasts two lower queen beds with two upper twin beds and a full bathroom along the hall. The final bedroom includes a king bed and an ensuite with a walk-in shower. The main living area has plenty of space for everyone to spread out, play cards board games or put a puzzle together, or watch a movie all with expansive views of Lake Rabun.

- "My tennis team had a 3 night trip and absolutely loved the house, the view, the porches, fire pit, well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. We also rented their pontoon boat and had 4 hours of a wonderful boat ride around the lake. The owner was very responsive to questions. Step inside for the ultimate retreat and never look back! This vintage guest house located next to the boat house has two levels. The two levels have their own entrances and are not connected internally. Both levels feature a kitchen and two bedrooms. The lower level has queen beds in each bedroom with a shared bathroom and kitchen. The upper level has two bedrooms, one with two twin bunk beds, a queen in the other, and a queen sofa bed in the living room. Enjoy the large deck overlooking Lake Rabun with plenty of room for a cookout and dining al fresco while taking in all the views. If you're feeling adventurous, grab one of the provided kayaks and head out on the water! This home is also situated half a mile from the only restaurant in town should you want to dine out.

If you have a larger group, the main house rental may also be rented if available.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.
