Our home is a unique A-frame style lake house located on beautiful Lake Hartwell. We offer a family friendly home with amazing views. A gentle slope to the lake with a dock for swimming or fishing. A large deck, that can be enjoyed day and night, outdoor grill, plus 2 kayaks. Our home is an open floor plan with an unobstructed view of the lake. The main floor features a fully equipped kitchen with laundry area, dining area for 8, a great room with a sleeper sofa, stone fireplace, a bedroom (king) and a full bathroom. My favorite part of this cabin is that there are no homes within 150 feet. You may see deer, birds, eagles, hawks and other wildlife.

We are 41 minutes from Clemson University & 62 minutes from University of Georgia.

It was fun watching the deer and geese walk around and after a little pep talk our pup learned to tolerate them. After learning that one of the restaurants we used to enjoy nearby no longer allows dogs on the patio we ended up grilling at the house and it turned out to be more enjoyable than eating out. The only minor downside was that the water pressure was a little low. The king bed was comfortable. The owner was accommodating. We will definitely come back in the future."

We have found that groups where everyone wants to be comfortable find this home the best! There are several areas to sit together both inside and outside as well as plenty of privacy for all. There are 4 Large Bedrooms with King beds. Two more Large Bedrooms support 1 Queen bed and 2 Queen beds and a set of bunkbeds respectively.
There are two bedrooms on the main floor with only one step from the garage in case anyone has difficulty climbing stairs. This allows everyone to enjoy the beauty of the lake and be in the middle of all of the fun!
You are more welcome to bring any floating devices, rings, floats, noodles, etc for your use. We kindly ask that you not leave them behind for other guests as our insurance does not allow us to provide any non-Coast Guard Approved floating devices. We will leave a few Coast Guard Approved life vests for your use.

- "This is one of the best homes our group has rented. It was very clean and well furnished. The kitchen is compact, but has everything you could need. The small porch fridge is great for soft drinks. The upstairs worked well for my nephew and his family. The four adult women shared the downstairs bedrooms. The beds were comfortable. It was nice to have 3 bathrooms. The laundry room was convenient also. A/c and ceiling fans kept the home cool during very hot weather. We were able to play games in the sunroom and others could visit or watch tv in the living room. The walk to the lake was gradual and easy to navigate. It does have one steep step. The dock worked well for launching kayaks and paddleboards. We were able to swim off it also and the water was clean. The first floor is very accessible for anyone with limited mobility, but there are steps into the home. The step to the porch is a little steep. Phone service is spotty but there is internet. The owners were very responsive to any questions. I would recommend this home and hope to rent it again."

Our dock will accommodate your boat and the Franklin County Boat ramp is just 1 mile away.
Harbor Light Marina is just a 7 mile drive away where boat rental is available. Close by are the quaint towns of historic Lavonia and Hartwell where you will find a variety of shops and restaurants.

Other nearby activities include Tugaloo State Park, just a 9 min drive or a short paddle across the cove. Lake Hartwell State Park is just across the SC state line and a 17 min ride.

Tallulah Falls and North GA hiking trails are within a 1 hour drive of our home.

We are just about 30 minutes from shopping at Tangier Outlet Mall(south) or Anderson, SC(north), and 1 hour from the up and coming town of Greenville where there are many great restaurants and shops.

But best of all, if you are coming to the area for a Clemson football game, graduation, or parent’s weekend, this would be a great place to put your feet up. We have a large TV in the main room with access to our YouTube TV streaming service, as well as the TV in the master, for watching the games. It is a 34 mile/42 minute drive to Clemson if you are headed to the Campus.

Our Lake Hartwell custom built home is located in a gated private 3 home community with a park like setting that is truly spectacular. Upon arriving at 'Heartwell Heaven', you will notice an beautiful custom craftsman style home with lake views for miles, a gentle slope to the water and a gorgeous park like setting where kids can run and play. The flat front yard is a great place where families can play volleyball, badminton or corn hole while others can relax on the rocking chair front porch with a cold drink.

Another favorite thing about our property is that it is less than 7 minutes off I-85 which makes it so convenient. For college fans, you can get to Clemson in 30 minutes and UGA in 45 minutes. Our priority when building our home was to have an upscale home with all of the niceties, have deep water and amazing view, and be less than 2 hours from Atlanta, GA one way, and Greenville, SC the other.

Our dock is situated on deep water year round so put on your suits and jump right off. Though we are situated on deep water, we are also near a cove so the high speed boats are never an issue. We just got a brand new large boat dock with 2 slips. Our Malibu boat is on a lift in one slip and our 24' pontoon in the second slip (available for rent), but you are welcome to tie up your personal boat on the side of the dock. There is plenty of space. We have 2 kayaks, a Lilly pad, a large tube, ropes, some water floats, water ski's, a wakeboard and much more. Bring your sunscreen and fishing gear for a full lake experience.

As you enter the front door you will be greeted with spectacular views of Lake Hartwell from the entire main level. The home has many extra amenities for your comfort such as granite countertops, upscale appliances including a food warmer, 2 refrigerators, a full sized washer and dryer, a floor heater in the master bathroom, a beautiful wood burning stone fireplace and much more. The kitchen hosts a farm table which comfortably seats 8 people with 4 bar stools around the kitchen island. Walk from the dining area to our covered porch where you can relax on comfy patio furniture and rocking chairs while enjoying our traeger grill and a picnic table for outside entertaining.

There are two Master bedrooms with king beds and private bathrooms.

Home is on deep water in private cove. We are located minutes off exit 177 on I-85.

Our home is perfect for your family gathering or sharing a vacation with friends. There are three bedrooms upstairs which include the master (King bed) with private bath, and two additional bedrooms which share a full bathroom (one queen and two twins).

The remaining two bedrooms are located downstairs. One has a king mattress with new bedding and the other is a bunk room with two sets of bunk beds (4 twins). Both bedrooms share a bathroom.

There is a large upstairs family room with plenty of books, games, and DVDs to keep you entertained when you need a break from the sun or to wind down after a great day on the lake. Or you can enjoy a movie on one of the flat screen Smart TVs located in the upstairs great room OR in the separate living area downstairs.

Our kitchen is fully equipped with all of your cooking and baking needs including pots/pans, crockpot, low country boil stock pot, hand mixer, blender, muffin and cookie tins, cake pans, casserole dishes, as well as serving platters. Walk out to the deck from the kitchen and you will find a large gas grill for convenient outdoor grilling. Don't feel like cooking? You can enjoy Tilly's Tiki Hut located at Harbor Light Marina which is a 3 minute drive from the property. There are many other restaurants in the area as well. We are happy to provide suggestions!

Enjoy eating al fresco in our screened in patio overlooking the lake. Seating includes dining for six and a seating area with a couch and two chairs. The patio has two ceiling fans to keep you cool.

There is a game room in the basement to keep the fun-at-heart group occupied with ping pong, air hockey, can jam, or a basketball game.

There is a paved pathway to the deep water dock where you can enjoy fishing or swimming in the lake. (A golf cart is on property, but is not available for use or rent.) We are located on a cove, so there is very little boat traffic.

The owner's boat is stored on a lift at the dock and is not available for rent and will not be moved. However, the marina is right around the corner where you can rent a boat or you can bring your own watercraft. The boat launch is located one exit North and is a five minute ride to the property.

You may use the paddleboat that is stored on the dock, but please note that a $500 replacement fee will be charged if there is damage to the boat.

We enjoyed the convenience of proximity to the water and use of the dock for the pontoon rental. A side note, the staff at Harbor Lights Marina were great to work with and very service oriented. Our getaway to the lake to end the summer was fantastic with plenty of time spent on and in the water, a trip to downtown Greenville, as well into Hartwell, Lavonia and nearby Royston. This home is in an excellent location being only 4 miles from Interstate 85 and approximately 3 miles from Tugaloo State Park. Our home is approxmately 1/2 mile from Franklin County Boat Ramp and 1 mile from Harbor Light Marina for fueling boats. The marina also has boat and jet ski rentals. The area is convenient to many restaurants including the famous “Gumlog Barbecue and Fish Lodge” and has ample opportunities for shopping and entertainment. The home is approximately 1 hour north of the Atlanta metro area and 30 minutes south of Anderson, SC. There is a Tanger Outlet Mall in Commerce, GA approximately 30 minutes south from the home. Perfect location for UGA (50 min) and Clemson (30 min) football games.
All linens are provided, ample supply of towels, toilet tissue and paper towels. The kitchen is stocked with spices, plenty of pots and pans and most any gadget you might need. Full sized washer and dryer with all the laundry essentials. We have a pack-n-play and highchair for the little ones available upon request.
You are welcome to bring all the children but pets are not allowed and there are no exceptions as we have grandchildren who are very allergic. This is also a non-smoking home and smoking and vaping are not allowed inside.

Bear Necessities is a four bedroom, 2 full-bathroom and 2 half-bathroom lake house on an amazing part of Lake Hartwell - located in a cozy neighborhood at the tip of the peninsula so, the water views are spectacular.
The house is set up on two levels, the main level has a kitchen that opens up to an open living and dining room area with sliding doors onto the rocking chair porch with great lake views and a gas grill.
The master bedroom is on the main level with an ensuite bathroom with a private sink & toilet. Bedroom #2 on the main has a king bed that can be converted to two twins upon request. This bedroom also has an ensuite bathroom with private sink & toilet. Both bathrooms also have doors that lead to a shared jack and jill shower room situated between the two bathrooms.

We are just a 15 minutes drive to rent a boat and 1 mile away from the closest local boat ramp to launch your own watercraft. Tie up your boat at our dock! (*Please note our boat will be locked on the lift during most of the year so the covered slip is not available for use*). There are are two tie-ups on either side, electricity plug in and plenty of space to sun and lounge on the dock!.

We used the golf cart and kayaks to explore the neighborhood and lake. We encountered several deer! We spent one morning hiking at Tugaloo and ate dinner at 211 Main St Restaurant. The restaurant opens at 5:00 for dinner and there was already a line to get in. The food was delicious. They also have prepared food that you can purchase and take back to the cabin for an easy meal."

Our home is a beautiful water front home with 5 large bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths. We also have 3 spacious living areas that allow every member of the group ample room to relax and enjoy the serenity of the lake. Our living space on the main floor is open to the kitchen and dining area so no one misses out on the conversations and fun. The screened porches are a welcoming area to enjoy your morning coffee or your evening drinks and appetizers before dinner is served from the grill. We are located in a quiet neighborhood with deep water only minutes from Tugaloo State Park and Harbor Light Marina. So bring your boat or PWC, tie up at the dock and enjoy exploring the lake by water. (Boat slip is not available.) If relaxing on the dock or a float is more your style then know a sunset view is in your future. Only 5 miles off I-85, our home is convenient and comfortable. You'll feel at home and your only wish will be to stay longer. And don't forget the family 4 legged friend. We are a pet friendly home for a non-refundable fee.

Golf: We are located within 30 minutes of several nice courses. Cateechee (Hartwell), Victoria Bryant State Park (Royston), Oconee Country Club (Seneca SC) and The Walker Course (Clemson ).

Shopping: Tanger Outlet at Commerce.

Hiking: There are incredible trails in the GA/SC/NC corridor with vast views and water fall views. You can choose easy to hard trails depending upon your fitness level.

Attention: The water at the dock is very low right now and it might dry out around our dock soon. Kayaking is possible. No fishing or swimming right off the dock. Deep water access for all water activities is available at public boat ramp within two minutes.

Our home is a very nice and cozy A-style log cabin on Lake Hartwell’s lakefront property, in Gumlog, GA.

If you’re looking to escape the concrete jungles and urban grind of metro / city living, for a nice break, rest, and relaxation; this is an ideal choice.

The house is in an idyllic, and quiet setting on beautiful Lake Hartwell, on the Georgia side.
You will be in a pristine country setting, very close to the foothills (beginnings) of the Appalachian Mountains; yet do not have to give up on benefits of a modern home.

Our cabin is fully furnished and equipped with all amenities: Central air (HVAC); kitchen appliances, smart TVs, and wifi internet.
Floor plan is very open, with living area having an all-wood cathedral ceiling for a beautiful, classy look and feel.

Loft has a master (king size) bed, and a landing / lounge area with 65” smart TV, a chaise lounge, and a pull-out sofa. (Sleeps 2)
Living area (downstairs) has 2 bedrooms.
One of them is kid friendly; with 1 bunk (i.e. 2 twin size) bed and another separate twin bed. (Sleeps 3)
The other downstairs bedroom has a luxury queen size bed.
A covered deck with a grill completes the cabin.

The property is off the main road in very quiet surroundings in over an acre of land.
A dock on the lake is part of the property and is ideal for launching kayaks and canoes off it.
The water level at the dock varies depending on the month of the year. When the lake is at full pool; most boats can also be moored at the dock.

(Boat Ramp is around the corner on the main road; 0.4 miles away.)
We provide floats, life jackets, etc.; you can have a fun time just lounging / hanging out at the dock. + 2 kayaks, lake pad, 1 kid kayak

Our home is located in a quiet and relaxing lakefront community. Watch the deer from the porch or a sunrise like no other from the dock. Fish and swim all day then have a bonfire by the lake! If you want to pair college football with lake activities you are in luck ... Clemson is 45 minutes away and the University of Georgia is 1 hour away.

Sleeps 10 with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Master has king bed and large bath with separate shower and air tub along with a walk out porch overlooking the lake. King bed on main level. The other 2 bedrooms offer queen beds. There is also a murphy bed in the living room and futon on 2nd level.

Gentle walk to the water. Bring your own boat or rent one nearby. Our dock is situated on quiet cove right off the main channel. Tugaloo State Park has several boat ramps and is only 1 mile away. The state park also offers hiking trails, putt-putt and tennis.

Local grocery stores and shopping close by. Greenville, SC is 45 minutes away and Tanger Outlet in Commerce, GA is 30 minutes away.

There is plenty of room to park several cars in the drive plus ample space to park a boat trailer.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This house is located in a rustic, less crowded part of Lake Hartwell. A gravel drive leads to the house in the Gumlog area. No dock, but it is on the lake. A king bed in the loft with a newly remodeled full bath and a second room on the main level with a daybed/trundle with a full bath across hall.

Homey and comfortable, we slept great. Also maybe take the swords off display for guests? They were super tempting for my boys :D The TV was great and the furniture was all in great condition. Thanks for the dehumidifier, it was helpful. Also the water heater kept up even with 2 baths and 2 showers the same night post-lake play! We were impressed!"
