Nestled in the forest, surrounded by nature, Blue Bear Hideaway is the perfect place to, well, hideaway! This two bedroom/two bath cabin has all the charm of a rustic mountain retreat but provides guests with every amenity a city dweller could want. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless appliances and gas range. The primary bedroom boasts a king-sized bed and ensuite bath. A second full bath is adjacent to second bedroom with a queen bed. County Permit #STR-042116.

The space
Blue Bear Hideaway comes equipped with fiber optic high speed internet and streaming television. Other amenities include a gas fireplace, wrap around porch, gas grill and outdoor dining table. The kitchen is stocked with basic spices (salt, pepper, sugar) and condiments.

The cabin community is tucked away behind two gates. Most of the roads are paved, however, a gravel road leads to the main gate and the cabin driveway is gravel as well. There is a catch and release fishing pond within the community.

Up to two dogs are permitted for an additional $50 fee per stay - cats are not allowed.

For the protection of the driveway, boats, trailers and RVs are not permitted.

Guest access
Guests have use of the entire upper floor of the cabin. The lower level is used for owner’s storage and not included in the rental.

Other things to note
Occupancy is limited to four people. The occupancy count includes all people over the age of 2.

While families with children are always welcome, there are no amenities geared toward children nor are there any child proof locks/devices.

For the protection of the driveway, boats, RVs and trailers are not permitted.

Private cozy camper in the mountains of Hiawassee (not in campground). Kitchen includes all you need to create meals. Queen-sized bed in bedroom and queen futon in the den and picnic table. Leaf season is amazing; seasonal mountain views, abundant wildlife in a quiet location. Dining, trails, parks, hiking and beautiful Lake Chatuge with beaches. Fire pit, outdoor chairs, corn hole and disc golf, sounds of rushing stream nearby. T-mobile wifi and our cells are Verizon and they both work great.

The space
Sunny Gap is a great place to relax and cozy-up after having all-day adventures. We’ve modestly priced this rental so you can enjoy the mountains and all the fun and dining surrounding you. Open the windows and enjoy the sounds of birds and a close by rushing stream.

There is a private bedroom with closets and a queen bed with extra blankets and pillows.

There is a futon couch that folds out into a queen bed in the den. The extra cushion is wrapped and stored under the futon. The sheets and blankets for the futon are in the upper den cabinets.

There is a futon chair that folds out into a small toddler bed.

The kitchen dining table also folds down into a large sitting area or a full bed.

As a reminder, local neighbors periodically walk their pups in the mornings and evenings on the quiet road your campsite is located on. They are quiet and kind neighbors. Don't be afraid to say hi as they are very friendly. You'll have plenty of privacy but we are a tight-knit community and look out for all that visit.

There are multiple cabinets all throughout the camper for storage. Underneath the kitchen table seating the side doors open for additional storage.

Guest access
The door lock has a key box and code and you will be provided with the code prior to your stay. Parking is easy and is beside the camper. Although there are rarely any vehicles on the road, please be sure to park on or right at the gravel area. Your space is the camper, the immediate gravel area and wooded areas on the sides and back of the camper. Sunny Gap is a work in progress and we are adding amenities as we go along. The road in front of the camper and up the hill directly in front of the camper is a circle that takes you higher and then down and loops around to Ruby Lake where you drove in to the campsite. It’s a great walk - just keep making lefts and you will have just under a two-mile walk back to the campsite.

Other things to note
Local attractions - Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds hosts a beautiful show of Christmas lights for you to walk through and take pictures. Spring and summer bring many events like rodeos, music, concerts and car shows. There are also lots of gardens to walk through. There are many shows throughout the year and lots of vendor sales all throughout the year. Helen is a thirty-minute ride over the mountains and is a beautiful Bavarian-styled little town with summer tubing in the river and tons of eateries and shopping - also dog friendly (leashed)! Helen also hosts Oktoberfest featuring various ales and fine dining - and funnel cakes! Lots for the kids to enjoy! The candy and fudge shops are amazing. The Christmas lights are incredibly detailed and there's even a roller coaster. There are several Christmas ornament shops and handmade toy shops.

Kitchen has pots, pans, utensils, dish soap, scrubbing pad, plates, coffee mugs, glasses and bowls.

Depending on the number of guests and the length of the stay, plenty of towels, wash cloths and hand towels will be provided. Towel hangers are also provided. We conserve water and respect resources - please hang your towels and wash rags up to dry and use another set when needed. 🚰

Linens for the private bedroom are provided. Linens for the futon bed in the den and the toddler bed in the den are in the cabinets in the bedroom.

A couple of bundles of fire wood will be provided. If you need more, a nominal fee will be charged or you’re able to pick up small loads all around the area nearby.

For additional outdoor fun, there is frisbee golf installed - great exercise, fun competition! Under the camper is a storage box with corn hole boards. We also have a few books and indoor games for late evenings with the family or rainy days when you want to stay in and relax.

Well-behaved, house broken pups welcome. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET OR CHILD UNATTENDED. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET ALONE IN THE CAMPER AT ANY TIME. PLEASE KEEP PETS OFF THE FURNITURE.

NO SMOKING, VAPING, INCENSE OR CANDLES INSIDE THE CAMPER. Please dispose of cigarette butts in the trash once you are certain the cigarette is out.

Please do not remove anything that is provided for your use in the camper.

Some of our neighbors walk their dogs on the abandoned road in front of the camper. They are quiet, nice people and will throw their hand up and say hi.

The neighborhood has a citizen neighborhood and we have a sheriff's deputy nearby that helps to curtail any loud ATV's. The neighborhood watch folks ride around periodically on a golf cart and will throw their hands up and say hi so you may see someone turn into the road and turn around at the bottom of the hill.

Pets: We love, love, love offering you the option of bringing your pets. We do upcharge just a bit as it requires a very thorough hair-picking - triple vacuuming of the e tire camper and furniture cleaning for our future guests. We are so happy to report all pets that have visited have been amazing.

Located in a quiet neighborhood, our cabin welcomes you with beautiful Knotty Pine wood throughout the home, a large open living area/full kitchen.

The cabin has a smart lock for easy entry, no more worrying about losing the key.

The cabin has two spacious bedrooms with carpet to keep your feet warm in the cold months, two bathrooms with full shower bath and other amenities.

The cabin has a full front deck, and a back deck that overlooks our wooded one acre of property. Take a couple steps down the back patio and enjoy the seclusion of the woods. You may just get lucky enough to spot a deer!

Our cabin has fiber Internet, living room has a Smart TV, and a washer/dryer you can use if needed.

Guest access
You will have full access to the whole house, except for 2 locked pantries. The cabin is sitting on one acre and has a wooded backyard that you can explore. The drive to the house is smooth and has winding paved roads leading to the cabin which is on a dead end road with little to no traffic other than the neighbors. Parking is available all in front of the cabin with space for trailers, so you can bring your ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, etc. with you.
