Located waterside on the jewell of the North Georgia lakes, this lakeside home was completely renovated in 2017 and features everything you're looking for in a lake vacation. Totally rebuilt and upgraded, this 4-bedroom, 3 1/2 bath home features all brand new amenities including a cook's kitchen with granite countertops, tasteful furnishings with designer fabrics, and two king bedroom suites. There are a total of 4 private bedrooms. The two king bedroom suites feature king size beds; the smaller bedrooms include queen size beds. The third story contains a large bonus room with giant smart tv, two built in beds and a queen size sleeper sofa. The room arrangements comfortable sleep 10-12 guests (e.g. 4 couples and 4 children).

The 2-stall boathouse provides a kayak and paddle boards , as well as dock-side boat parking, and there is a public boat ramp just 2 minutes up the lake. If you wish to rent a pontoon boat (kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, etc.) we recommend Bear Gap Outfitters.com, which is located just minutes from the house. They will deliver your boat and provide a brief orientation on boat safety and navigating the lake. There is an extra large deck atop the boathouse with partial shaded coverage and a jump platform.

Additionally, the house features a screened-in porch on the lake level, which spans the length of the sea wall, as well as a screened-in porch on the second level which is ideal for reading.

Besides the many features of the home itself, the location is a huge plus. Being situated in the "Narrows" of Lake Rabun, you will enjoy all the access of the entire lake by boat, kayak, canoe, and paddle board, while still being able to retreat to the no-wake zone of the "Narrows" , escaping the noise and activity of the big basin areas of the lake. Located just 12 miles from Clayton, GA,, and 110 miles north of Atlanta, you will feel a million miles away from stress.

This immaculate home, located less than two hours north of Atlanta, sleeps up to 9 guests, ideal for a family vacation, weekend getaway or a girls' or guys' trip. Little Lakemont is neat as a pin, tastefully and comfortably furnished, and offers the ability to accommodate a crowd, if needed, while still offering cozy privacy to its treasured guests. Easily accessible year-round via paved Lake Rabun Road (trust us, this is a perk!), Little Lakemont has ample parking and no daunting flights of stairs to the house, boathouse or the lake (perk! perk! perk! perk!).

Our large FENCED-IN back lawn is perfect for running around playing tag, chasing fireflies, roasting marshmallows in the in-ground fire-pit or squaring off in a game of Giant Jenga, Horseshoes or Corn Hole (all provided!) under the shade of the Sycamore trees that border the lake. Relax on the wrap-around screened-in porch – where we bet you’ll spend the majority of your time – with unobstructed views of our boathouse and Lake Rabun. You and your guests can enjoy the peaceful calm of “The Narrows” and its no-wake zone, making swimming and water recreation worry-free. Explore the water via our 3-person, 17-foot canoe and 1-person, 15-foot kayak, or stay grounded and make use of our charcoal grill and the boathouse's lounge chairs, dining table and chairs and porch swing.

Speaking of the boathouse, ours is partially covered so you can sunbathe or relax in the shade. We have two boat slips, so feel free to bring your own boat (the Lake Rabun Beach boat ramp is just a stone's throw away) or rent via Michael at Lake Rabun Boat Rentals (706-782-4438) or Hall's Boat House (706-782-4981) . Just be mindful of the no-wake zone in The Narrows, and be sure to wave as friendly “neighbors” pass by, as Southern Hospitality is on full display here at Lake Rabun.

As you enter Little Lakemont through the front door (via the screened-in, wrap-around porch), you’re welcomed immediately by the open kitchen and dining area that overlook the family room. Cook (or simply eat) to your heart’s content with all the pots, pans, plates and utensils one could need. The kitchen features a gas-burning oven and stove, microwave, toaster oven, drip coffee machine, Keurig, dishwasher, garbage disposal and refrigerator with ice machine. We also have an ice-cream machine, slow-cooker, popcorn machine, shaved ice machine, blender and hand-mixer.

If by chance you aren’t taking your meals on the dining table on our screened-in porch (which features our second charcoal grill and two Adirondack-style swivel/rockers), our indoor dining table seats eight (five chairs and one bench) for casual meals. We also have a restaurant-style high chair available for your use, if needed.

The family room is cozy and inviting with a new couch (which folds out to a full-sized bed) and new, comfy, upholstered swivel-rocker chairs, all of which are working hard to divide their time between the entertainment center (stocked with a 43-inch smart TV, DVD player, tons of movies and board games) and the real star of the show, a floor-to-vaulted-ceiling stone, gas fireplace.

The two guest bedrooms are also located downstairs. One features a pillow-top queen bed and the other – in true Lake Rabun fashion – bunk beds (with a trundle as well)! Both bedrooms have ceiling fans, plenty of closet space and storage, and the comfy beds are nicely appointed with crisp linens and quilts. These bedrooms share the immaculate main-floor bathroom, which features a roomy vanity/sink, large linen closet (stocked with bath towels and beach towels) and a shower/tub.

If a quick load of laundry is on your agenda, a washer/dryer combo is conveniently located on the main floor next to the bathroom.

The master suite, with a king-sized bed and attached bath, is located on the second floor, offering quiet seclusion from the rest of the home. If you’re tempted to watch television, the cleanly appointed master bedroom features one of the two TVs in Little Lakemont. Just outside the master is a sunny reading loft, where an overstuffed leather chair and ottoman invite you to settle in and enjoy a good book (borrow one of ours or bring your own) - or take a nap! - with views of Lake Rabun and the boathouse just below. Also on the top floor is a small, gabled bedroom with a single bed, perfect for a child (or an adult who would prefer the privacy of his/her own room versus the pull-out sofa in the living room). There’s plenty of space in this bedroom for a pack-and-play (not provided) for the littlest ones.

There will be no need to leave Little Lakemont once you arrive, but so many places to explore are at your fingertips, should you feel compelled to wander. Enjoy Angel Falls (you can walk from our driveway to the trail head), Minnehaha Falls (a short drive to the trail head, just across the lake from Little Lakemont), Tallulah Gorge and Black Rock Mountain State Parks, all offering hiking trails and pristine views. Hall’s Marina, Lake Rabun Inn and Restaurant and Max's Lakeside are a short drive (or boat ride) away; Rabun Beach Grocery is nearly next door (for restocking refreshments, gas for your boat or an ice cream treat or two for the kids...); historic Lakemont beckons with its quaint shopping area, art gallery and café; and plenty of creature comforts (Wal-Mart, Ingle's Grocery Store, Home Depot, fast food ) are available in the nearest city – Clayton, Georgia – and Downtown Clayton is booming with boutiques and amazing restaurants.

The cabin is located off Highway 23 between Tallulah Gorge and Clayton, GA. You will take a beautiful winding drive along Lake Rabun past lovely lake homes and cabins, then gravel road for 0.3 mile. The gravel road is well maintained but can occasionally have ruts after heavy rains.

The Copper Owl has a level driveway, one step up to the deck and one step to the cabin entrance. Guest bedroom, 1 bath, living room, kitchen, and dining room are on the main level (one step down to dining room). Master bedroom suite with full bath is down eight steps off the dining room. Loft overlooking the living room has very steep stairs up to the two additional twin beds.

There was no shortage of trails to hike within a 45 minute drive from the cabin. The closest was the Angel Falls trailhead, Minnehaha Falls, followed by Tallulah Gorge State Park and Panther Creek Falls trailhead. We also went to Unicoi State Park, Rabun Bald Mountain and Yonah Mountain. There were two other state parks nearby that we didn't make it to (Moccasin Creek State Park, Smithgall Woods State Park). If we return to the area, we will definitely stay here again. For those who are sensitive to traveling on curvy roads, we highly recommend you arrive during the daylight hours."

The barn at Lake Rabun has been restored into a place where family and friends could gather, rest, and unplug with carefree comfort in one of the most desirable spots in Georgia.

The original barn is a century old structure situated on a historic sight. Once a 500 acre estate owned by Coca-Cola executive Samuel Candler Dobbs, it functioned as a horse stable for the estate. The structure echoes the history and traditions of old Lakemont, combining an extensive use of large river stone and timbers from the surrounding area. The exterior has its own distinct personality boasting a dramatic cat-ski roof line reminiscent of a colonial saltbox style.

After numerous owners and renovations, the latest transformations reveal a more open and sociable floor plan infused with classic yet updated features.The unveiling begins with a custom barn door entry and striking antler handles that suggest what is to follow. Once inside, guests are greeted by a grand stone-floored foyer and dining room that leads into the great room. Scotty Mitchell designed the house with warmth and comfort giving it a relaxed elegance. Tasteful features include the reclaimed heart pine floors, touches of leather and iron, and soft wool carpets that run throughout the house. Each room contains a subtle reminder of the barn’s past whether a pair of leather riding boots, a hunting trophy, an antique horse feeder, a bit, a bridle or a riding habit. The once separated living areas are now reshaped into one large yet intimate space in a soft palette that showcases the gallery of original art, bronzes, antiques, and custom furniture. There is a large stone fireplace and multiple seating areas that can accommodate large gatherings while still feeling cozy for smaller groups. The dormer windows in the great room create more openness while offering a visual surprise at dusk. The expansive commercial kitchen gleams with European pottery, copper, and stainless. It is fully appointed for guests to prepare their own gourmet meals or to bring in a private chef or Caterer. Guests can also enjoy a casual meal at the custom-built bar table in the kitchen. The media room, adjacent to the front foyer, has the most comfy sectional to snuggle into and watch movies or the big game on the large screen.

The home sleeps seventeen comfortably in the seven private bedrooms and eight and a half baths. The bedrooms are designed with serene comfort in mind. Each King bedroom features The Barn’s own “Barn Bliss”, Talalay organic mattress complete with luxurious European linens, and all of which have a private bath with marble vanities and slate tile floors. Additionally, there is a bunk room with custom-built bunk beds and a separate “hayloft” with bean bags and TV for kids to escape with their games and movies.

Outside, relax in the cool mountain air and gentle breezes under manicured hardwoods on two acres of native plantings across from one of Georgia’s most beautiful mountain lakes. Treat yourself to a bonfire under the stars; swing on the two-person rope swing overlooking Lake Rabun; and enjoy the expansive 1000 square foot deck that accommodate large or more intimate events under the tree canopy with glimmering lights. The views are particularly striking at sunset when the light shimmers across the water and through the trees! After sunset guests are captivated by MoonTechs’ elaborate lighting design that sets the mood for any occasion. The landscape architecture and installation was provided by Live Oak Manors and W Designs.

We implemented the renovation of The Barn together with a lot of help from talented partners, friends, and family just in time for our own wedding. We continue to expand our renovation and design expertise in the North Georgia Mountains and will eventually live here full-time.

- "We had such a momentous time the first time we were there, we had to go back! The house is beautifully situated in the woods on Lake Rabun. It’s centrally located with lots to do in Clayton and lovely boutiques in Lakemont. Can’t wait to go back!" - "We loved our stay at this property. And the adjacent lower screen porch with ping pong and games was a huge hit- with the adults too. The boathouse is easier to access via the stairs than I thought and a lovely walk through the rhododendrons and mountain laurel leads you to the top of the boathouse. They even have a large cooler on top of the boathouse for you to use! Win! Unique to this property is full access to the boathouse and the various floats, canoes, paddleboards, etc. This is not always the case with many rentals on the lake. So this is a huge plus! The cove is one of the best on the lake as it remains calm and ideal for swimming and floating or just sitting and staring at the deep blue-green Lake Rabun water. The Wexford Hideaway is the perfect place to escape and unwind. When you walk in the front door, you are greeted with a two story living room and wood burning fireplace. Relax on the couch while streaming your favorite show, or curl up in one of our sitting areas with a good book.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all the basic cooking essentials. We have several spices on hand as well as olive oil. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning with the Keurig pods that are provided.

The dining area seats 6 guests comfortably for a home cooked meal while overlooking the backyard. Chances are you will get a sighting of our resident deer family. After dinner choose between one of the many board games we have for a friendly competition.

You will find the master bedroom on the main level with a king size Casper mattress and attached bathroom. Also on the main level is a half bathroom with a washer and dryer. We have provided detergent pods for your use.

Head upstairs to the loft where we have a desk for your remote work needs. The loft also has a twin size trundle bed where you can sleep two additional guests. The trundle is ideal for children or short adults. The upstairs bedroom consists of a queen size bed. Though the house does have air conditioning, this room can get warm in the summer months. There is a full bathroom upstairs and plenty of towels.
Head outside and enjoy the rocking chairs on the front porch with your coffee in the morning. Relax on the screened in porch or spend time with friends and family around the fire pit. Extendable skewers provided for all of your s’more needs!

Another place to check out is a little road side store called Goats on the Roof. You have to check it out. The owner, Pete, was also a great guy. He called us on our way home to see how our visit was. I highly recommend renting this property for the week or weekend."

- "What a great find & amazing location, direct access off main highway and minutes from, Fun hiking trails, Lake Rabun, Clayton downtown & Tallulah Falls. Plenty of parking space for our 42’ RV & motorcycle trailer. Large porch with comfortable patio seating & Adirondack chairs directly on the River. We enjoyed smores while relaxing to the sound of the river and catching trout. The rooms were clean, beds are comfortable and best is 2 living areas with different TVs. We would recommend it and we will be back for our annual motorcycle trip."

Green Acres is a recently refreshed home, located less than two hours north of Atlanta, and sleeps up to 10 guests, ideal for a family vacation, weekend getaway or a girls' or guys' trip. Green Acres is neat as a pin, tastefully and comfortably furnished, and is spacious enough to accommodate a crowd, if needed, while still offering cozy privacy to its treasured guests. Easily accessible year-round via paved Lake Rabun Road (trust us, this is a perk!), Green Acres has ample parking and no daunting flights of stairs to the house, boathouse or the lake (perk! perk! perk! perk!).

You and your guests can enjoy the peaceful calm of “The Narrows” and its no-wake zone, making swimming and water recreation worry-free. Bring your own boat (the Lake Rabun Beach boat ramp is just a stone's throw away) or rent a boat via Michael at Lake Rabun Boat Rentals (706-782-4438) or Hall's Boat House (706-782-4981) and – with either option – you can tie up right at our boathouse.

Speaking of the boathouse – where we bet you’ll spend the majority of your time – ours is partially covered so you can either sunbathe or relax in the shade, where we have a porch swing, dining tables and plenty of seating. Back at the house, take advantage of the climate-controlled sunroom, the wraparound porch and the charcoal grill, all with unobstructed views of Lake Rabun.

As you enter Green Acres, you’re welcomed immediately by the vaulted ceilings over the combined living and dining areas, which have been – as has the entire house – freshly painted from top to bottom. Cook (or simply eat) to your heart’s content with all the pots, pans, plates and utensils one could need. The kitchen features an oven and stove, microwave, toaster oven, drip coffee machine, Keurig, dishwasher, blender, hand-mixer, garbage disposal and refrigerator with ice machine.

In the off chance that you’re not taking all your meals on the boathouse, our indoor dining table seats eight, and there are two barstools at the kitchen peninsula – giving you tons of options for family dinners or game nights (and we have a well-stocked closet with board games and puzzles).

If a quick load of laundry is on your agenda, a washer/dryer combo is conveniently located on the main floor next to the kitchen.

The spacious family room features a new couch and loveseat and a comfy, upholstered armchair, all of which are working hard to divide their time between the entertainment center (stocked with a 55-inch smart TV) and the floor-to-vaulted-ceiling stone, wood-burning fireplace.

The two king bedrooms are also located downstairs. One is next to the house’s “go-to” full bathroom (shower/tub combo), while the primary suite is on the far corner of the house, offering quiet seclusion via a spacious bathroom (soaking tub, separate shower), a TV, a “conversation corner” with two upholstered chairs, a desk if work must be done, and a private, screened porch for quiet moments overlooking the lake.

Head upstairs – where you can overlook the living area and the lake – for the other two spacious bedrooms and adjacent Jack-and-Jill bathroom. One features twin beds handcrafted from reclaimed barn lumber, and the other has a full bed and – in true Lake Rabun fashion – bunk beds!

All bedrooms have ceiling fans, plenty of closet space and storage, and the comfy beds are nicely appointed with new linens and quilts. All bathrooms are stocked with fresh towels as well.

There will be no need to leave Green Acres once you arrive, but there’s plenty of exploring at your fingertips, should you feel compelled to wander. Enjoy Angel Falls (you can walk from our driveway to the trail head), Minnehaha Falls (a short drive to the trail head, just across the lake from Green Acres), Tallulah Gorge and Black Rock Mountain State Parks, all offering hiking trails and pristine views. Hall’s Marina, Lake Rabun Inn and Restaurant and Max's Lakeside are a short drive (or boat ride) away; Rabun Beach Grocery is nearly next door (for restocking refreshments, gas for your boat or an ice cream treat or two for the kids...); historic Lakemont beckons with its quaint shopping area, art gallery and café; plenty of creature comforts (Wal-Mart, Ingle's Grocery Store, Home Depot, fast food ) are available in the nearest city – Clayton, Georgia; and Downtown Clayton is booming with boutiques and amazing restaurants.

Huge picture windows overlook the broad sweeping 'treetops'' deck (two beautiful trees artfully growing through deck) then look across the Narrows of the lake way below, and then to forested ridges across the lake.

Macy across dirt road .

The two story boathouse sits on the lake, complete with a partly covered upper deck plus adjoining dock and swimming cove. Great for entertaining or enjoying cocktails while watching the sun set over the Georgia mountains.

BE ADVISED THAT THERE ARE ALOT OF STEPS (AROUND 100) FROM THE HOUSE DOWN TO THE BOATHOUSE

Boathouse comes with a canoe and 2 kayaks, but power boats and boathouse boat hoists are EXCLUDED. Power boats and ski do's may be rented separately from independent boat rental companies, and attached to dock by two sets of (outside) boatwhips on either side of the boathouse during the rental. The boathouse offers a perfect setting for a hot summer's day swim, relaxing on floats, or fishing off of the dock. The boathouse also offers a slide, fun for young children. There is a tiny beach area in the foliage behind the dock on which the slide is located, where supervised young children can play in shallow water. Otherwise the water is 37 feet deep off the boathouse. .

Birdwatcher's paradise: wide variety of birds come to the feeders, and if you are quiet about an hour before midnight, the fearless FLYING SQUIRRELS will quietly swoop in to the feeders on the broad treetops deck, often in groups.

Other wildlife sighted on the property include an adult Black Bear doing a pirouette on our deck railing to reach the bird feeder, black racers, bullfrogs, water snakes, crows, numerous birds, chipmunks, squirrels, deer , bees and a wide variety of fish , some quite large. But this property is not for hunters.

The space
Six log cabins dating from the 1780’s through 1840 were purchased, dismantled and transported to Lake Rabun. The cabins came from TN, NC, KY and VA and each structure has its own truly fascinating history. Virtually all of the materials used are recycled from various old structures gathered from several southern states. Many hours were spent searching for suitable doors, windows, flooring and so forth. Three cabins were combined to create the main lodge, one cabin serves as our glamping studio, one as a potting shed and one as a garage.

The main lodge features a comfortable kitchen, a large dining room, 2 bedrooms and sleeping loft, a gorgeous stacked stone fireplace, an entertaining screened porch & many unique features to keep you delighted!
The master bedroom opens through french doors onto the screened porch. The guest room boasts a queen bed and vaulted ceiling. In the loft, there is a double bed and two twin beds.

For the adventurous sleeper, a light-drenched detached "studio" cabin with a queen bed that can be enjoyed during the warmer weather months. Though accessible year round, it is not recommended for sleeping when the temperatures drop.

There are 2 full bathrooms and one half bathroom inside the main house, the studio cabin has a sink.

The grounds are beautiful with native flora and gorgeous stacked stone walls, the property centers around a wonderful outdoor stone fireplace perfect for toasting s'mores and enjoying an evening under the stars!

Access to Lake Rabun is just across the street at Hall's Boathouse - probably less than a 3 minute walk. Hall’s is not a swimming area, but it is a great place to put in your own boat, canoe, kayak or rent a boat from Hall's. Drive to nearby Lake Rabun Beach for a swimming area and another boat ramp.

Three Pines offers 2 private bedrooms with Queen beds with 1 having an en suite. There is a loft with 3 twin beds. The cabin offers 2 full bathrooms and 1 offers a bathtub. A full kitchen, living room, and dining area are great for enjoying time together with friends and family.

The front porch is a perfect place to sit and have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine as you look out onto the Tallulah River. If sitting by a fire is something you love, you can hang out by the fire pit in the yard. Starter wood is available under the porch and items to make your own s'mores are available in the kitchen as well.

The cabin is located off Highway 23 between Tallulah Gorge and Clayton, GA. You will take a beautiful winding drive along Lake Rabun past lovely lake homes and cabins, then gravel road for 0.3 mile. The gravel road is well maintained but can occasionally have ruts after heavy rains. We confidently drive our Infinity G35 sports car to the cabin!

The Copper Owl has a level driveway, one step up to the deck and one step to the cabin entrance.
Guest bedroom, 1 bath, living room, kitchen, and dining room are on the main level (one step down to dining room). Master bedroom suite is down eight steps off the dining room. Loft overlooking the living room has very steep adder stairs up to the two additional twin beds.

"Brownwings" is a beautiful 3 bdrm/2 bath cabin located in historic and quaint Lakemont, GA. Nestled on a very private, wooded lot, this home is perfect for small families or couples who want to be very close to Lake Rabun and Tallulah Gorge State Park. It's short walk to the picturesque Lakemont village where you'll find a wonderful spa, art galleries, a delicious deli and cute shops. Clayton is a scenic 10 minute drive for many fabulous restaurants, breweries, shops and fun attractions!

Enter our cabin through the large screen porch into a spacious and comfortable living room. Two of the bedrooms are located on the left "wing" of the cabin and open to a large, fully screened in porch that overlooks the tranquil woods. One features a king bed, another has 2 twin beds with a shared bath. The third bedroom is located on the right "wing" of the cabin and has a double bed, private bath and separate porch. There is also a pull out sofa in the central living room. The house is always professionally cleaned, has updated appliances, nice fixtures and new HVAC. There is also a fire-pit area just off the front porch. It's ready for you to relax and enjoy!

The space
The Wexford Hideaway is the perfect place to unwind and escape after a day of hiking, fishing, and exploring all that North Georgia has to offer. When you walk in the front door of our 2 bedroom/2.5 bathroom cabin, you are greeted with a two story living room and wood burning fireplace. Relax on the couch while streaming your favorite show, or curl up in one of our sitting areas with a good book.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all the basic cooking essentials. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning with the Keurig pods that are provided, or bring your favorite ground coffee to enjoy.

The dining area seats 6 guests comfortably for a home cooked meal while overlooking the backyard. Chances are you will get a sighting of our resident deer family. After dinner choose between one of the many board games we have for a friendly competition.

You will find the master bedroom on the main level with a king size Casper mattress and attached bathroom. Also on the main level is a half bathroom with a washer and dryer.

Head upstairs to the loft where we have a desk for your remote work needs. The loft also has a twin size trundle bed where you can sleep two additional guests.

The upstairs bedroom consists of a queen size bed. We have installed an air conditioner unit for those warm summer months. There is a full bathroom upstairs and plenty of towels.

This cabin sleep 6 comfortably and enough linens are provided for this many guests. Please note that two of the beds are a trundle twin bed in the open loft. The loft can get warm in the summer months.

Head outside and enjoy the rocking chairs on the front porch with your coffee in the morning. Relax on the screened in porch or spend time with friends and family around the fire pit. Extendable skewers provided for all of your s’more needs! The backyard is fenced in so you can relax while your pups explore.

We are convenient to Helen and close to Clayton for great restaurants and shops, and all that the Georgia Mountains has to offer.

The space
The cabin is our family retreat space and we LOVE being there. However, since we can't be there all the time, we are happy to share it with you. The space is cozy and comfortable, yet super spacious, and well appointed. The main bedroom contains a queen bed, additional bathroom access, and a mountain view. The secondary bedroom has a single over double bunk bed with a lovely view of the forest off the front porch, perfect for the kids. The roomy loft space is a great area to relax on the couch, play games, or even do some work. The comfy couch opens to a queen bed, as well.

The porch is screened and is our favorite space to relax and listen to the birds! You'll enjoy forest and mountain views along with the glow of the sunset. Enjoy meals at the table, games, or chill out on the couch or swings and enjoy the view of the forest and mountains.

Watch movies in the spacious living room with surround sound or play games with the family after a day of mountain adventures. Then head down to the fire pit for smores , storytelling, and music making!

Newly renovated lake home with open design that combine the great room, eating area, kitchen, and a the gathering area. Two sets of French doors open to a high ceiling screened porch. A deck area connects the porch. The lake home is located 0.5 mi to the 96-year old Lake Rabun Hotel, Louis on the Lake, and Hall's boat house. Relax with nature. Residence sits on a quiet lane. The open design allows for multiple groups enjoying different activities. The French doors connect to the large screen porch. There is a fire pit available. Winter views of the lake. Fresh tomatoes in season.

Drive or walk to a picnic area with lake access. Kayaks, a 5-seat Sun Dolphin paddle boat, and life vests are available for use. Two Sandy beaches with swimming area are in either direction. Two waterfalls for hiking are available around the lake. Pontoon boats available to rent at Hall's Boat House by half day. Tallulah Gorge Park is four miles south. The highest state park in Georgia Black Rock Mountain State park is 3 miles north of Clayton. The quaint town of Clayton with bustling shops and restaurants is ten miles north. Raft down the Chattooga River which is 8 miles from Clayton. Available guided trips.

Other things to note
Walking on Lake Rabun Road is unsafe. There is no sidewalk. Service trucks and drivers can not see walkers. You can walk up Whetrock Road and on Krinsky. Verizon provides the best cell phone reception. A 911 phone for local calls is available.
The best activity on the lake is either a sunrise or sunset drive. The sunlight reflecting off the water is a beautiful experience.

A perfect getaway! Fabulous one of a kind home on a fenced acre in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Located steps from Historic Hall's Boathouse at Lake Rabun, minutes from many waterfall hikes, Tallulah Gorge, wineries, and State and National Parks. Clayton is close for shopping and farm to table cuisine.

The space
Six log cabins dating from the 1780’s through 1840 were purchased, dismantled and transported to Lake Rabun. The cabins came from TN, NC, KY and VA and each structure has its own truly fascinating history. Virtually all of the materials used are recycled from various old structures gathered from several southern states. Many hours were spent searching for suitable doors, windows, flooring and so forth. Three cabins were combined to create the main lodge, one cabin serves as our glamping studio, one as a potting shed and one as a garage.

The main lodge features a comfortable kitchen, a large dining room, 2 bedrooms and sleeping loft, a gorgeous stacked stone fireplace, an entertaining screened porch & many unique features to keep you delighted!
The master bedroom opens through french doors onto the screened porch. The guest room boasts a queen bed and vaulted ceiling. In the loft, there is a double bed and two twin beds.

For the adventurous sleeper, a light-drenched detached "studio" cabin with a queen bed that can be enjoyed during the warmer weather months. Though accessible year round, it is not recommended for sleeping when the temperatures drop.

There are 2 full bathrooms and one half bathroom inside the main house, the studio cabin has a sink.

The grounds are beautiful with native flora and gorgeous stacked stone walls, the property centers around a wonderful outdoor stone fireplace perfect for toasting s'mores and enjoying an evening under the stars!

Access to Lake Rabun is just across the street at Hall's Boathouse - probably less than a 3 minute walk. Hall’s is not a swimming area, but it is a great place to put in your own boat, canoe, kayak or rent a boat from Hall's. Drive to nearby Lake Rabun Beach for a swimming area and another boat ramp.

Other things to note
During the winter months, things slow down in Lakemont, but there are wonderful hikes nearby, wineries to try and a host of winter activities including snow tubing in Scaly Mountain. The fireplace never felt so inviting!

Welcome to The Lakehouse!
This cabin and this beautiful lake have been my families get away from busy life for many generations. I hope to share the beauty of the lake with everyone!

This cabin is on a wonderful winding mountain road and is directly on what we call the "Narrows" or the "No Wake Zone" of Lake Rabun. Cabin is within walking distance of one of the local convenience stores. Features large outside relaxing areas!

The space
The front of the house has enough parking for 4 cars. There are a few small stone steps up to the front door. After you enter the house, you will be greeted by a beautiful large living room with large windows. There is one bedroom near the front door as well as a bathroom. The master bedroom is in the back of the house, beyond the kitchen & laundry room. The master bedroom has an attached private screened porch as well as a large bath tub and shower. Master bed is kingsized and there are two plush recliners in the bedroom as well.
The stairs to upstairs are found in the living room. Once you get upstairs there is a bedroom on your left & right with a bathroom for them to share. The bedroom on the left is a king sized bed with lots of closet space. The bedroom on the right is directly attached to the bathroom which has a bath shower combo. The bedroom itself has a bunk bed as well as a queen sized bed in it.
There is a sun room which has doors to the outside as well as sliding glass doors in the living room. We have a spacious boathouse with lots of space to lounge. There is a spiral staircase from the boathouse to get to the lower docks, you can also take the stone staircase from the back deck connected to the house. You are welcome to use the charcoal grill. We have boat ties and a small boat slip available at the lower docks. In the garage, there is a canoe available for use.

Lakefront home with 200 feet of lake frontage and one of the largest boathouses on the lake. Take a nap in the hammock on top of the boathouse or paddle board & float in the quiet cove. When it’s time for dinner, stir up your favorite meal in the cooks kitchen complete with Wolf gas range and large 48” Sub Zero Refrigerator. Lovingly decorated with comfort and ease in mind, you’ll enjoy sunrises and sunsets with a view from the huge rocking chair front porch. But first grab your coffee from the built in Wolf coffee and latte machine or your wine from the wine fridge.
Each bedroom is appointed with comfort in mind: comfy mattresses and soft linens with duvets on top. And after a restful night, in the morning you can enjoy your cup of coffee after cutting flowers from the garden by lake.

The house is nestled very close to the shore with easy access ! Drive right up to the front door to unload, and walk out from the terrace level directly into the spacious, 2 story covered boathouse! Enjoy cool mountain air and gentle breezes from 2 wrap around porches! Relax in the hammock, porch swing, or dive off the top floor of the boathouse into deep water. Play ping-pong, pool, air-hockey, arcade style basketball, chess, dominoes, and countless other board games in the fully equipped playroom! Splash around the lake with our tandem & single kayaks, paddle-board, blue water-mat, inflatable towables, wakeboards, skis and many other lake toys (we have water toys and life vests for all sizes!).
