Our property is situated on a quiet street, nestled between the marshlands and stately oak and pine forests. This beautiful 900 square foot loft has a private entrance and on-site parking for one vehicle..

Just one minute away you'll discover the 18 miles of bike trails surrounding the island. You can bike to the fishing pier or the beach and arrive in mere minutes. Or, you may want to visit the Historic District, where over 300 millionaires of the Gilded Age once lived. Movers and shakers of the times like J.P Morgan, Joseph Pulitzer, William Rockefeller and others built homes and a Club House on our island, beginning in 1888. They typically spent 3-5 months down here yearly for the next 54 years. Their homes are being restored and many can be visited and appreciated.

We also have a world renowned Sea Turtle Center, where injured and sick turtles are flown in for surgeries and rehabilitation, and later released back to the sea. Bike toward the south and visit the Tidelands Nature Center, enjoy bird and wildlife viewing, or swim and sunbath on our 12 miles of white sand beaches. We have a seasonal Summer Waves Water Park, four famous golf courses, Red-bug Motorcar rentals, carriage rides and trolley tours. "Aloft" is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in between the Jekyll Island airport and the campground. That puts us 5 to 10 minutes from the Jekyll Island beaches by car. Bicycle paths start one block from the house.

Also, you should know that "Aloft" is an open and airy unit with lots of natural light. It has a private entrance through our garage. You may hear the garage door open and close at 6:30 or so in the morning during the days of Monday through Friday (also some occasional weekend days) as that is the time that we go to work. That has not bothered most of our guests, but we don't want that to be a surprise. Otherwise the unit is very quiet. Kitchen facilities are limited. Cooking facilities are a toaster oven, a two burner hot-plate and a microwave. The refrigerator is hotel sized.

- "Quiet, beautiful property. I loved reading outside in the rain, listing to the soft wind chimes and the pattering on the tin roof of the sitting spaces. It was so well lit and spacious the bridal party came to my place to get ready instead of the condo they planned. You'll definitely want to rent bikes or a golf cart if you don't have a car. I thought I could walk everywhere and you could if you were really in shape (think heat not distance!) but the grocery store is too far to carry things from. Also the bikes aren't equipped to carry groceries either, so keep that in mind. This is in no way a complaint, just advice for visitors. I would definitely come back. OH! I lost my wallet on this trip while shopping and almost before I knew it was even missing, it was returned with all $250 in cash and my ID in it! People are incredibly friendly. Traveling by myself, I never once felt unsafe or concerned."

It is a quiet place, and you are going to love it! You will be able to use the kitchen, front sitting area, and utility room, which may be shared by other renters. There is a pool pass for the Days Inn Pool. The 5,700 acres of island tranquility once served as a private retreat to America’s wealthiest! Enjoy!

The space
The bedroom has a private entrance, through which you can go to and from the back patio and yard (Shared Space) being sure to lock the door when returning to your room. The bathroom is one door down from the bedroom. There is a utility/mud room (Shared Space) for your convenience, and you may use the kitchen and front sitting area (Shared Space — leave clean). You will enter and exit through the utility room when entering and leaving the premises. On the carport there is an outdoor shower. Please use the shower after beach trips, leaving wet shoes and items outside to dry.

Guest access
You will have the bedroom, bathroom, utility room, outdoor shower, back patio, front porch, and yard available to you. Guests park on the left side of the driveway, leaving room for three cars to park and not blocking the carport.

During your stay
The owners have a private area of the house but will greet guests if at home when you arrive. We will be available to answer any questions.

Other things to note
No boats or trailers are allowed. Guests should not disturb neighbors in anyway. There is private parking for one vehicle, which should be parked on the left side of the driveway as one faces the house; avoid parking too close to others so as to avoid blocking the owner or other guests. No smoking in the house.
To reach the beach, cross North Beachview and take a right. Turn left on King Street and walk one block to the beach.
There are bike rental locations, golf courses, good restaurants, and several other entertaining activities available on the island.
