The front door to the property leads out from the sitting room onto a private balcony with seating area for you to enjoy, and outside there is a garden for soaking up the sun with a dining area and barbeque for you to use and enjoy.

There are also numerous river beaches within a 10-15 minute drive, including Cardigos and Pego Das Cancelas which all have dedicated bars, toilets, barbeques and picnic areas. Plus lots of opportunity for hiking and leisurely walks around the beautiful, unspoilt countryside.
We are nearby the Zezere and other rivers which are perfect for fishing and watersports or just packing up a picnic and heading out for the day.

Once upon a time we nicknamed “A Toca”.

A house, with 3 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom, flanked by a small backyard.

The space
The kitchen is stocked with all the necessary equipment, among new, vintage and “embellished” – fridge, microwave, stove, thermostat, water boiler, fryer, toaster, mixer, magic wand, Dolce Gusto coffee machine, pots and pans.

The room invites you to live with family and friends. We want to promote true rest and conviviality, so we have left the internet behind – we have a TV and some games (checkers and cards).

In the bedrooms, we kept some bedspreads clear and with older style, for a comfortable experience, but with the rural touch that anyone looking for the house will certainly be waiting to find.

In the entrance and hallway, guests are welcomed by vintage and “earth” elements, framed in the rustic spirit of the house.

In the backyard, in addition to the washing tank and grilling stove, guests can find and collect fruits and plants for consumption (malaguettes, mint, lemons and ginkgo leaves for tea, among others).

The house is in Envendos, a village right in the center of the country. In the village there is mini market, pharmacy, ATM, several cafes and pool (free). Nearby are hot springs, several river beaches, waterfalls and hiking trails. The village, in beautiful Portuguese fashion, is also known for the good sausages and hams of the Forest, where the factory that produces these hams is located.

Situated 100 meters from the mountains, it overlooks it, and nearby it has only a few quiet and friendly neighbors.

The house accommodates up to 8 people, smoking is allowed as well as pets. It is available for holidays, weekends or daily, with bedding, towels and cleaning products.

The apartment is equipped with everything you need for a long or short term stay. The bedrooms all have cotton bedding, fly screens and black out blinds on all windows. In the bathroom there are towels, wash cloths and shampoo and conditioner. We have a large area of land including a very small forested area and a large flat grassy area which you are free to use for walks or games. We also have a vegetable plot and orange and lemon trees, if you would like any freshly picked produce let us know and we will be happy to pick you a selection of anything we have in season.

Other things to note
During the summer months (Jun -Sep) we host pizza nights for guests and locals once a week. We cook home made pizzas in our bread oven and provide wine and soft drinks in our pretty outdoor area and ask that you give us however much you think your meal was worth . We hope you will come and join us!
If you stay with us for more than 7 days, we will provide you with fresh towels and bed linen after the first week if required.
