Spoke with a person staying next to us that they come there to stay when in the area he tried to get our cabin #5 but they told him it was the only dog friendly and that I was there with a dog. LOWER LEVEL OF HOME ONLY, NO SHARED SPACE. IDEAL LOCATION in the heart of the Southern Black Hills, 2 miles west of Keystone on the Old Hill City road, a famous motorcycling route. Experience the 1880 train that runs directly by the property. Enjoy the sites, specialty shops, great variety in food and entertainment with Mt Rushmore 5 minutes away, Crazy Horse within 20 minutes and if you enjoy gambling Deadwood is approximately 45 minutes travel time. For the nature lover, several hiking trails within walking distance. Owners live in the upper level of the home.

We can accommodate up to four people comfortably. We prefer children to be at least 8 years of age and older please!! There is a gas log stove in the living room area and wouldn't wish a younger child to touch it and get burnt!!

The property is nestled on a wooded lot, spacious open floor plan lower accommodations with separate entrance. Fully equipped kitchen, rec room houses arcade console, pool table, foosball table and a hockey table. Living room has satellite television and wi-fi included. Queen size bed in bedroom and 2 queen sofa sleepers in living room that house children well.

Outdoor space includes propane grill, table and chairs with additional seating available. Also a fire table to roast marshmallows, cook hot dogs or to enjoy some heat on our cool summer evenings!!! Child proof skewers are provided!

Our cleaning standards are above normal with Covid 19 on the rise. I use an additive that kills 99.99% of germs for all the laundry loads between stays. I also wash all bedding that includes sheets, blankets, comforter, mattress pads and even the zippered pillow protectors!! Also all towels, shower curtains and bath rug are laundered between guests. We use antibacterial wipes on all door knobs, pool sticks, pool balls, air hockey, foos ball table handles and arcade handles!!

Wake up each morning and watch the 1880 train pass by or enjoy your coffee on the back porch with the visiting wildlife. - "The cabin was exactly what we were looking for during our visit to the Black Hills! It was private and secluded and we felt the kids could be as loud as they wanted. They especially loved the bunnies and chickens and even named them! I wanted to stay and live there. Beautiful area and we saw so many deer, what a delight! Linda was a wonderful host and the sweetest person you’ll meet. She was fast to respond. We loved getting to know her. Wish we could’ve had more time! All my husband wanted for his birthday in May was to see the monument one last time but this trip was so much more because of American Pines and their location as well as the pet friendly atmosphere. We recently rescued two pups less than a year old and this was their first trip away from home. We almost did not go because of them but Becki and Austin were fantastic. CHECKIN/CHECKOUT
- Check-In is 4PM and Check-Out is 10 AM
- Early check-ins or late check-outs aren’t always possible, as we often need the full turnover window if another guest is departing or arriving the same day especially with larger groups.
- If flexibility opens up, we’re always happy to let you know. Please reach out if you’d like us to contact you in case an early check-in or late check-out becomes available. If you’d like to arrive several hours earlier, we recommend booking the night prior (if it’s available) to guarantee early access and settle in at your own pace.

PETS
We allow up to 3 dogs of 50lb each, for $75 per pet per stay. Pet Fees
At the moment of booking, if you add your pets, the platform will include the fee for the first pet in the total, and we will request the additional ones afterwards.
If you’d like to bring additional pets, or larger than 50lb, please send an inquiry first for approval.
Other animals, including cats, are approved on a case by case scenario.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

PARKING
Our driveway can fit 3 cars. Please be mindful of our neighbors and do not park on their private property. The empty lot across from our garage does not belong to us and we ask that guests do not park on it.

**PRE-ARRIVAL CHECK-IN (Happy Guest Platform)**

This property requires completion of a brief pre-arrival check-in through a secure third-party platform called **Happy Guest**. This includes:

Arrival instructions will only be provided once the pre-arrival check-in is completed. Happy Guest is a simple, web-based platform that requires no app download and takes just a few minutes to complete.

**1. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY**

Guest must accurately disclose the number of adults, children, and pets in the booking. This number applies to both overnight and daytime visitors. Unauthorized over-occupancy may result in eviction without refund.

**2. NO SMOKING OR VAPING INDOORS**

A $500 fee applies for indoor smoking or vaping. Outdoor smoking is permitted only with windows and doors closed. Guest is liable for odor or residue removal costs.

**3. PET POLICY**

Pets must be pre-approved and disclosed in advance. An Animal Addendum is required for all pets, emotional support animals, and service animals. Unauthorized animals may result in eviction and fees.

**4. DAMAGE POLICY**

Guests must choose between a refundable deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver. Guests are responsible for any unreported or excessive damage, missing items, or extra cleaning.

**5. CLEANLINESS**

Guests are expected to maintain the home in a respectful condition and report any cleanliness issues within 24 hours of arrival.

**6. NOISE & QUIET HOURS**

Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 9 AM. Excessive noise or neighbor complaints may lead to eviction.

**7. PARKING**

Parking instructions and capacity are listed in the property description. Unauthorized parking or exceeding the limit may result in fines or towing.

**8. LOCK OUTS / KEYS**

Keyless codes are active during your stay. Lost keys or lockouts may incur up to a $150 fee.

**9. LINENS & SUPPLIES**

Please refer to the listing for what is provided. Only flush septic-safe toilet paper. Plumbing damage due to misuse will be charged to the guest.

**10. ISSUES OR COMPLAINTS**

All issues must be reported immediately and within 24 hours of arrival. Guests must allow the host an opportunity to resolve any problems before requesting outside intervention or refunds.

**11. REHOUSING & REFUNDS**

No refunds or reimbursement will be offered if a guest chooses to vacate the property early or declines offered solutions.

**12. CANCELLATION POLICY**

Our cancellation policy applies regardless of reason. Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase travel insurance.

**13. SUBLETTING / THIRD PARTIES**

No subletting or third-party bookings allowed without prior written approval.

**14. CAMERAS & TECH**

There are no indoor cameras. Outdoor cameras, smart locks, and safety devices may be present and must not be tampered with.

Guests must secure the home when not present. Entry codes must not be shared with individuals outside the booking party.

**16. ENTRY DURING STAY**

Host or agent may access the property with proper notice. Light cleaning may be scheduled for extended stays.

**17. INTERNET USE**

Illegal or abusive internet use is prohibited. Guest assumes all responsibility for online activity and must secure their own devices.

**18. FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS**

Providing false information (age, party size, purpose of stay) will result in eviction and loss of payment.

American Pines Lodge is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home that can sleep up to 12 people with a queen bed in each room, a sofa sleeper in the living room & 4 portable cots. There are 2 full bathrooms, one being a master bath with a soaker tub, fully furnished kitchen, living room area with satellite TV & DVD player, as well as front & back decks with propane BBQ grill & yard area with a fire pit. This is a side x side duplex & we, the owners live in the other unit. There is a dual locking door between the 2 units. Located just 5 miles from Mt. Rushmore & 2 miles from downtown Keystone, American Pines Lodge is close to most major attractions but sets on 4 acres of mountain meadow in a beautiful valley with Battle Creek running through the property. Our other listing, American Pines Cabin, is also on the same property. There is a playground & basketball court available for our guests. Hiking & biking trails are accessed right off the property as well as ATV/UTV rentals through Black Hills Wilderness Edge to get off the beaten path & experience the Black Hills. Roads to property are paved. Gravel driveway with plenty of parking.

Because the home is new, this is the first season renting and we have no reviews yet. However, we rented out another home in the same area and had perfect 10’s on all stays for several years.

-drive or cycle scenic Iron Mountain Road with its tunnels and famous pig trail bridges
-15 minute stroll to Lakota Lake
