Our holiday home is situated in the historic 12th century village of Cantobre, which is located in southern Aveyron in the Midi-Pyrenees region of France, and are set amidst spectacular countryside on a rocky promontory some 100 meters above the meeting of the Dourbie and Trevezel rivers.
Le Canard is typical village house. It offers great flexibility in numbers holidaying. La Bergerie is an old building of about 100m2 located at the top of the village, on a large garden of 900 m2 with a swimming pool. Its south orientation allows it to enjoy maximum sunshine and a panoramic view of the village and the Dourbie valley, towards Nant. Equipped with all the desired comfort (appliances, Wifi, TV, DVD, Canal Sat ...) it will allow you to spend a pleasant stay in a perfectly quiet place and in communion with nature. Its swimming pool (8x4m) strictly reserved for the tenants and without any opposite, is heated from mid-June to mid-September (only period of possible use of the swimming pool). The cars must be parked at the entrance of the village which is accessible only by a vaulted porch.

- "We had an enjoyable two weeks at this house. Picturesque location in a small hamlet which was eerily quiet during our time - seems to be mostly holiday homes. House is well equipped and obviously "lived in" and served as a good base. Pool was a welcome bonus on hot days - which was every day during our stay. Plenty to see and do locally - Templar villages, caves, etc. Good walks and cycling (some very good waymarked mountain bike trails) from the doorstep. We didn't meet the owners but they were very helpful before our visit and we had no further need to contact them. Recommended."

The space
Located on the 1st floor of an old stone house, part of which consists of a tower, this accommodation offers a unique and full of character...

Walking through the front door you will be greeted in a beautiful living room with an open kitchen, offering a pleasant, bright and functional space. The comfortable sofa will be your refuge after long days of exploration.

Adjacent to this main room, a charming first bedroom awaits you, equipped with its private bathroom including shower, sink and toilet. By taking the wooden staircase, on the left, you will discover a second spacious and warm bedroom. It has a small living room with a sofa, as well as a bed and its own sanitary facilities.

As you continue climbing the stairs (three more steps), you will access the last bedroom, which also benefits from its private bathroom, including a sink, shower and toilet.

At the living room level, an exit on the sun-drenched terrace invites you to enjoy relaxing alfresco. A picturesque staircase will take you to the garden, where you can appreciate the presence of water canals, offering the soothing pleasure of the gentle murmur of the water flowing. The house offers an area of 87 m2 + outbuildings. The entrance is on the 1st floor. You will access it by a beautiful stone stairs. You will find, by pushing the entrance door, the main through room, including kitchen and living room. This gives access to the balcony and staircase going down to the terrace and garden.

Upstairs you will find the master bedroom, the bathroom and a cabin room. On the top floor there is a 2nd bedroom as well as a dormitory, ideal for children.

You will also have access to outbuildings located on the ground floor: cellar, shower room and toilet, summer kitchen and garden.

In the Dourbie Valley, beautiful typical house with unobstructed views to the South. Located in a quiet hamlet, Les Cuns, 2kms from the pretty lively village of NANT where you will find all the necessary shops.
In the heart of the Causses-Cévennes region, 16kms from the A75, you can enjoy many natural sites and sightseeing: Gorges du Tarn, Cités Templières du Larzac, Viaduct de Millau, Roquefort wineries, caves etc... Many activities (swimming, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, biking etc...

The space
On a landscaped plot of 1500m2, the house of about 120m2 faces south with open views of the valley dominated by cliffs. The house has been fully restored keeping its authenticity. In summer, its thick stone walls keep a pleasant freshness.
The house consists of an entrance with covered terrace, a large kitchen, dining room, a comfortable living room with wood stove, a bedroom with 2 beds (on request the 2 beds can be converted into 1 large bed) and a toilet with sink on the first floor. Upstairs is a large bathroom with walk-in shower, 2 sinks and a toilet, a bedroom with a queen size bed and a mezzanine with a double sofa bed.

The layout, furniture, and equipment are of high quality. Lots of charm and personality for this house that we live in out of rental season.

The large plot at your disposal allows you to enjoy a magnificent unobstructed view as well as a pleasant, very shady and cool space with garden furniture.

This traditional cottage with all commodities (100sqm) is surrounded by a closed garden (900sqm) hosting a private swimming pool (4m by 9m). It is located in a famous and peaceful village (CANTOBRE) located at the hearth of the "GRANDS CAUSSES" area

The space
La Bergerie is an old building of about 100M2 located at the top of the village, on a large private garden of 900 m2 with a swimming pool. Its orientation towards the south allows it to benefit from a beautiful sunshine and a panoramic view on the village and the valley of Dourbie, towards Nant. Equipped with all the desired comfort (electrical appliances, Wifi, TV, DVD, ...) it will allow you to spend a pleasant stay in a perfectly calm place in communion with nature. The swimming pool (8x4m) is strictly reserved for the tenants and is open from June to September, which allows an optimal use in a remarkable setting. Our holiday home is authentic and located in a still preserved setting. You can enjoy its charms in all seasons. We love to stay here all year round to enjoy the fresh air in the morning on the terrace at breakfast and to contemplate a beautiful sunset in the evening with a glass of rosé around the pool or by the fire in winter. You can explore the many hiking trails in the area. The walks on the different causses will allow you to see typical landscapes and meet many craftsmen and producers. It is an authentic land that you can explore at your leisure, the causse du Larzac and the causse noir offer notably very diversified places. The Dourbies canyon and the nearby Tarn gorges are ideal for swimming and canoeing. There are many nature activities (La cité des Pierres, le belvédère des vautours, caves, accro-rocs, vélo-rail, etc...... and other leisure activities). For those who love historical places, the numerous Templar cities in the vicinity will seduce them (and the children too, for whom these cities often organise fun discovery activities). The town of Millau and the surrounding villages with their farmers' markets are rich in history. The region also organises many festivals which enliven the towns in the summer, but also out of season.
This accomodation will suit to people looking for extreme experiences (canoe on the Dourbie or Tarn river, climbing, paragliding, caves explorations,...) as well as to people looking for peaceful holidays. Other things to note
The organisation of festive events is not allowed to ensure the quietness of the property. The house has one bathroom and a small shower room, and has two separate hot water tanks. Tenants are responsible for maintaining the pool to ensure it is in good working order, following the instructions provided (ph test, water refill, addition of products and filter changes, etc.). The pool heating system can only work if the outside and night temperatures are sufficient. We ask guests to clean up before departure.

In the heart of the village, a spacious 220 m2 family house, restored and equipped, its 3 outbuildings offer up to 5 bedrooms (each with bathroom and toilet), organized around a garden with terrace, to accommodate up to 12 people.
You will find all the shops and a nice market in season, just a few steps from the house, to delight your taste buds.

The space
The house is spacious and well-appointed.

The ground floor, built into the rock, remains very cool in the heat of summer. It offers a living, dining, kitchen, and laundry room, as well as a guest WC and washroom.

The first floor offers two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, as well as a living area.

The top floor includes two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, one of which is a spacious family suite that can accommodate 4 adults and 2 children.

The outside space includes a deck with table and chairs on each side of the house (north/south).

Guest access
All of the house is accessible when rented as an independent gîte.

Other things to note
The house is heated by a wood-burning furnace that pumps hot water to radiators in each room. The living room also has a wood-burning stove that effectively heats that room.

The heating should not be required from May through October. If you wish to rent the house during the cold months, you will need to load the furnace twice a day. Firewood is provided in this case, but it does require a good 15 min per day to operate.
