Discover the beautiful Endless Mountain region in Northeastern PA. Situated above the Poconos, you will find quaint country towns, antique shops, art, music, historical sites, scenic country roads, long lazy rivers, game lands, trout streams, a plethora of restaurants and the highly regarded Elk Mountain Ski Resort (13.6 miles door to door).

The cabin is 1500 sq. ft. located on four very private acres situated on a bluff situated above a thickly wooded, country lane. The owners do not live on site, so you have full access to the cabin and property. While only 7 miles from historic Susquehanna and just a few minutes from the state highway, you will feel miles away from civilization.

This well-appointed cabin features a fully equipped kitchen with oven, stove, refrigerator, blender, toaster, microwave, crock pot, and all of the plates, glasses, pots and pans you will need. There is a Keurig for your coffee. The living room features a nice wood burning fireplace, flat screen television (with a ROKU and about 20 local channels - no cable) and plenty of comfy seating. There are two large bedrooms upstairs with a total of 5 twin beds, 1 double bed, and a couple of spare futons for the kids. There are two full bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. There is a smaller bedroom downstairs that has been converted to a sitting lounge/office with games, books, karaoke and bar supplies. Set up your laptop and take advantage of the fast, free Wi-Fi.

The cabin is tastefully decorated with a nice sofa, a couple of love seats and a few scattered chairs. Local artwork adorns the walls. A few antiques from the area can be found throughout the cabin.

A large porch wraps around two sides of the cabin - the front is covered for rainy days while the side has an outdoor table for dining under the stars. Roast some marshmallows over the fire pit, play a leisurely game of badminton, throw some horseshoes or simply relax out on the lawn chairs and take in the views. Nights are typically cool and very clear for stargazing.

Guests have four full acres to roam on the property, as well as country roads for biking, trails for hiking (Florence Shelley Nature Preserve, Salt Springs State Park, D&H Rail Trail), nearby state game lands, trout streams, golf courses, and much more. The woods feature cherry, maple, ash and soaring pine trees as well as a wide variety of animals including deer, fox, turkey, and black bear. Like to fish? There are trout streams nearby and a few public access lakes. Have a canoe or kayak? The Susquehanna River is down the road. There are State Game Lands throughout Susquehanna County for deer and turkey hunting in the fall. It is also near the Aaronic Priesthood Restoration Site.

Guests do not need to meet with the owner to check in. There is a keypad on the door. No key exchange needed. Directions provided upon booking.

Important Notes:

-Please understand that this is a cabin in the woods. It is not a 5 star hotel but if something seems amiss, please let me know and we will work with you to get it right. We rely on a cleaning company, a plow driver, the mowing crew and our most importantly guests to help keep our cabin clean and bright.

-We do not provide sheets and towels, in that there is no washer/dryer on site and your own sheets, pillowcases and towels are much more sanitary. However, there are plenty of comforters, blankets, and pillows provided which are switched out often. There are laundromats nearby for the needs of our longer term guests. Bring toilet paper.

-Really Important: You will need to take your trash with you at the conclusion of the rental. We are quite remote and do not have trash service. There are local drop off points for garbage but they have limited hours--we have provided directions in the cabin. Most plan on taking their garbage home with them. Unfortunately there are no exceptions to this policy.

The heat is electric baseboard and controlled in each room through a wall thermostat. There is a window unit AC upstairs for that very rare warm evening.

We respectfully request that you treat this property with the same respect that you do your own home. Please clean up as needed, take garbage, and leave the furnishings as they were upon check-in. Be careful with the fire pit. It can get very windy! Food and garbage needs to be store inside to keep the wildlife away (we have bears around). Sheets, towels, and pillowcases must be provided by the guest. Well-behaved dogs are ok but a flat pet fee applies, No cats, please.

Hunting is NOT permitted on the property, but there are plenty of nearby game lands.

Winter Guests: You will most likely need 4WD. Our driveway is plowed, but steep.

The stunning great room features a vaulted 28-foot timber frame with barn board ceiling, open grand staircase with catwalk, gas fireplace and 55" smart TV and Blue Ray DVD player. This is a perfect room to accommodate the whole family for movie marathons or memorable board game challenges.

The gourmet kitchen features a Sub-Zero glass refrigerator and freezer with a 48" Wolf 4 gas burner stove and double flat top & double oven, cook for an intimate affair or the whole crowd. An added bonus is the herb garden off the back deck, please use in your specialty drinks and cooking. The kitchen, separate bar, and full pantry boast granite counter tops; 3 sinks and 2 dishwashers. There is a 10-person elevated bar seating area that surrounds the kitchen so the cook is never alone. A full-service wet bar off the main lodge room.

There is a large dining room off the kitchen that will seat 12. Off the kitchen is a Pool Table with 60 Classic Arcade Video Game console and a Golden Tee Golf Arcade console. Lower level has a Ping Ping Table and a Tornado Foosball Table.

There is an attached large outdoor deck that will seat 14 where you can dine enjoying the lake view. Spacious deck offers a gas grill and covered gas fireplace seating area. The covered porch is one of our favorite rooms in the house. There is a 7-person Bull Frog Hot Tub off the other deck next to the enclosed outdoor shower.

For the working vacation member of the family there is a fully furnished private office equipped with reliable, strong WiFi connection.

There are 6 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.

The first master bedroom has a king bed, large bathroom with 2 sinks, wraparound shower with 4 shower heads and the washer and dryer in the walk-in closet. There is a private porch off this master with an enclosed outdoor shower and the hot tub.

The second master bedroom has a king bed and private bath with a walk-in tile shower.

The third bedroom has 2 queen beds, a twin bed and a private bath with walk-in tile shower.

The fourth bedroom has a queen bed and a princess loft; large crib alcove which has a permanent full-size crib as well as the option to set-up a pack-n-play or travel crib, and private bathroom with a tile shower and claw foot tub.

The fifth bedroom has 2 queen beds one being in a unique hunting lodge loft setting.

The sixth bedroom has a queen bed and couch.

There is also a 7th room which is used as a children's playroom which has a sofabed that you are welcome to use.

All bedrooms have space available to set-up pack-n-play or travel crib. Several spaces could also accommodate queen size air mattresses. We have air mattresses and quite a bit of additional infant/toddler gear available upon request to make your stay as comfortable and carefree as possible (and save you trunk space)!

Also, for the fitness buffs there is a Body Solid 3 stack home gym and an open space for yoga, Pilates, or aerobics.

Outdoors:

The lake house is a wonderful year-round stay. Heart Lake is bountiful with bass, pickerel, catfish, sunfish as well as perch for summer or winter fishing (PA fishing license required - can acquire in town at sporting goods, 4 miles). Kayaks are provided for your personal use during warm weather months. Come for fall foliage and enjoy nature hiking or mountain biking on any of the back dirt roads or the rails to trails access that is at the end of the driveway. In the winter, the lake house makes a warm, welcoming retreat to return to with a hot tub soak after some prime local skiing at Elk Mountain Resort only 35 minutes away.

The Lake House is great for a laid back vacation in the mountains. The views from the great room and deck will have you relaxed in no time. Come enjoy some downtime in the Endless Mountains.

The Lake house offers reverse living with a deck for sunbathing, star gazing and cocktails. The kitchen/living room is on the top floor so you can enjoy the views of the Lake Lowe and Elk Mountain while you relax with family and friends.

Downstairs there are two bedrooms hidden behind barn doors. Bedroom one offers a queen bed and the second features 3 cozy built in singles. There is a full size bed in the downstairs space for extra guest. The mudroom and bathroom are also on the bottom floor.

You will have access to the lake from the public dock for kayaking (two kayaks are provided for your use) swimming, fishing, and boating in the summer and ice fishing and ice skating in the winter.

- "We were in town for a family wedding. This place is really close to a couple of wedding venues, including Birchtown Stables. The home is comfortable and has a gorgeous view of the lake. It is easy to find and there is plenty of parking in the driveway. As a group of 4 adults, we found we had plenty of space to spread out and be comfortable. We loved that there were more than enough towels provided for each person. The owners are super responsive. We had a smoke detector beeping because the battery needed to be changed. They immediately came out and even left extra batteries should we need any others. They told us they are adding laundry facilities this summer. That will make this home even better. We would definitely stay there again."

Enjoy our beautiful 3-bedroom, 2-bath house nestled in the hills below Elk Mountain! The spacious, family-friendly (and pet-friendly) home is a quick 2-minute drive from the ski resort—with views of the slopes from our back windows.

The updated farmhouse features: a large, well-equipped kitchen with a wood-burning fireplace and large dining table; comfy living room with widescreen, smart-TV; cozy family room with games, books and tranquil views of the yard, pond and surrounding hillside. The mudroom offers storage for boots, skis and other outdoor equipment, as well as a washer and dryer for your wet gear. And we have a single-car garage for easy loading/unloading in snowy weather.

The bedrooms include: extra-large master bedroom on the first floor with king bed and ensuite bath; front bedroom (second floor) with 1 queen bed and 1 full-size futon; back bedroom (also on second floor) with 1 full-size bed and 1 single bed. The second full bath is located on the first floor, just off the kitchen. Towels and sheets provided for your comfort and convenience.

The 3-acre property is on a small, rural road. Tall pines, oaks and maples shade the house. Out back, the grassy yard circles a large, stream-fed pond that is home to bullfrogs, ducks, fish and the occasional otter. Unwind with family and friends around the campfire.

The Endless Mountain Region in North Eastern Pennsylvania (NEPA) is a great destination for any season. Of course in winter, our home is the perfect base for a family ski trip! The short drive (2 minutes!!) to the mountain, makes for easy return trips for lunch, naps, etc. Elk Mountain Ski Resort offers the best slopes in PA, with exceptional snow-making, excellent ski/board school, and a perfect balance of beginner, intermediate and expert trails. We are also just a few miles from snowmobile and ATV trails.

In spring, summer and fall, hike or bike the trails at Elk Mountain or the expansive network of NEPA rail-trails. Paddle down one of the local creeks, play Frisbee golf at Prompton State Park, go antiquing in the nearby towns of Honesdale or Hawley, or just sit outside and enjoy the peace and quiet. Whatever you choose to do, our house makes a great home base!

- "Had good family time. First outdoor trip for our newborn" - "We booked the Queen cabin for a little getaway weekend. The cabin was true to the description and pictures. It was clean and well appointed. The furnishings were quite comfortable. The grounds are well maintained. There were only a few other folks staying there but we enjoyed the pavilion, fire pit and outdoor grilling space. The property is on a long rolling hillside with wonderful views. The description was not kidding when it says it's in a very rural area. We only saw a few cars drive by the whole time we were there. That being said, the nearest store/food was a little over 10 minutes away so be prepared to drive to everything. There were plenty of outdoor activities for all seasons. Overall, it was a wonderful space for a couple or bring a group and take advantage of all the communal amenities."

Our newly renovated townhouse style condo has 2 floors. The first floor has a full kitchen, 1/2 bathroom, dining room & living room. The living room sofa has a pull out queen size mattress. Each bedroom on the second floor has a queen size bed and a full bathroom.
Parking is available in front of the condo’s entrance.
Guests have access to the Endless Mountain Resort Recreation Building which houses an indoor swimming pool & spa, exercise room, game room and a lounge area.
The pool is heated and towels are provided. The Game Room has a TV, pool table, an air hockey table, shuffleboard, crane machines, vending machines & an ATM.
The Lounge is stocked with board games, cards, and puzzles. The Exercise Room has an elliptical, treadmill, stationary bikes as well as a TV.

We have four rooms for rent in our professional space. The room's are clean. The kitchen, bathroom, laundry, hallways are new, clean, and professional. Located on a private lane. This tiny home has all you will need to enjoy your quiet country getaway. Kitchenette with all appliances and bake/cookware. Comfy queen sized bed with linens and small table with chairs. Walk a few steps across the deck to indoor bathroom with stand up shower, sink,toilet and plenty of towels and toiletries. The outdoor space will draw you to fish, swim, cook out, or kayak in the lake. This is in the original summer kitchen built around 1897 to do the canning and house extra help. It was also the West Clifford Post office for a time. The Post Office sign is in this suite.

We are less than 5 miles from Elk Mountain Ski Center, an hour+ from Greek Peak and an hour+ from the Pocono ski resorts.

The great room features a cathedral ceiling. The windows look out toward the original barn, pond and the back yard.

Other things to note
Winters can be a challenge in northeastern PA and shovels are provided, but shoveling service is not. Please plan accordingly with AWD, or 4WD vehicle options in case of snow. The lake road is fairly well maintained during snow events.

We have a strict no guest pets, and no events policy. Violation of either policy will result in forfeiture of security deposit.

We ask the guests limit their group sizes to no more than 6 adults (12 and up) and 8 guests total if 2 are children. This is to maximize the ability of our guests to enjoy our space without it being too crowded. Thank you for your attention to these details.

Welcome to our second story, clean, comfortable two bedroom Farmhouse suite. #5 has a nice view and features one bedroom with a king size bed. The second bedroom is furnished with two twin beds. We are located 5 miles from Elk Mt. The kitchen is fully furnished. Dunnier's Country Store & Six Pac Shack are within walking distance.

The Farmhouse has three units. Each suite has its own entrance. The only shared space is the laundry room and the fire pit

Our townhouse style condo's are nestled in the quiet and peaceful Endless Mountains region of Northeast Pennsylvania. Each condo sleeps up to 6 people and offer features such as a full size kitchen, jacuzzi tub and sauna.
Guests will also have access to our Recreation Building which houses an indoor swimming pool & spa, gym room, laundromat, game room & lounge area.

The space
Our Recreation Building is where you will check in. The building houses an indoor swimming pool & spa, exercise room, game room & lounge area and laundromat.
The Game Room contains an ATM, change machine, pool table, air hockey table, shuffle board, crane machines, vending machines & streaming TV.
The Lounge is stocked with board games, cards, puzzles, comfy sofas and lounge chairs to relax in along with streaming TV.
The Exercise Room contains an elliptical, treadmill, stationary bikes as well as streaming TV.
*Please note that guests must bring their own laundry detergent and dryer sheets for the laundromat.

Each of our townhouse style condo's have 2 floors.
The top floor has a full kitchen, 1/2 bathroom, dining room & living room. The living room sofa has a pull out mattress and can sleep 2 people.
The kitchen is stocked with utensils, tableware, cookware & bakeware for up to 6 people. It also contains a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, oven & full size refrigerator.
The living room contains a streaming TV and DVD player. There is also an outdoor balcony accessed through the living room which offers amazing views of the mountains surrounding the resort.

The bottom floor has 2 bedrooms, each with a queen size bed and 2 full size bathrooms. There is also a jacuzzi tub and sauna. Towels and bed linen are provided in each condo for up to 6 people. The master bedroom contains a TV.

The space
The Hidden Gem Home is conveniently located minutes away from Elk Mountain, DH Rail Trail, Forest City & Uniondale, Merli Scarnofi State Park, Elkview Country Club, Maiolatesi’s winery, Riverview Winery and Breaker Brewing Co. along with beautiful wedding venues such as the Farm at Cottrell Lake and Takach’s Grove. We are 10 minutes from Hotel Anthracite and Burning Bush Cafe in Carbondale, Pa and approximately a 20-30 minute ride to the city of Scranton, Pa. and Montage Mountain. Perfect location to unplug and unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of life.

The Gem is a newly remodeled 3 bedroom 1.5 bathroom 2 story home with off street parking, front porch, deck, large gravel firepit area and spacious backyard. We are on a busier road so be careful backing out of the drive way and always supervise children and pets outside. There is an eat-in kitchen with all modern amenities such as an electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker, and tea kettle to make a meal, half bathroom downstairs and full bathroom upstairs with shower, detachable shower head and tub combo. Please be advised that we operate using a well for our water and the pressure in the shower is not strong. We want to be transparent about that.

There are 3 bedrooms, (2 queens and 1 full) all equipped with closet space. Spacious living room with a television with Roku including Netflix and Hulu, sectional couch and extra large chair perfect for reading or working from home. Extra pillows, blankets and towels provided. Guests can enjoy a complimentary bottle of red or white wine from our favorite local winery, located on the bar cart in the living room upon arrival. We provide ground coffee, a coffee grinder and a variety of tea for guests to choose from located in the kitchen with a Ninja coffee system. 2/3 bedrooms have window AC units, the 3rd bedroom is small and has a standing fan. There are 2 additional fans located in the home. 9/10 times the house cools down in the evening with by running the fans and opening the windows because we get a nice breeze . But it can reach up to 80 degrees in the house if it’s hot and humid enough. Please be advised if you’re sensitive to the heat or your pet is sensitive to the heat.
