The neighborhood appeared very run down with trash in the front yards and much in disrepair. I advised them immediately that I did not feel safe staying there and felt I had been deceived. Since it was a non refundable reservations they ignored my request and kept my money although I did eventually get the cleaning fee back. I have booked accommodations for decades through Hotels.com and never before complained like this. It is not up to the standards I would expect on this platform."

But this property was very fair. It was managed by Capital Hotel. A VRBO. I tried to call Capital Hotel before check in .. no call back. I did receive a check in text on a chat line that was monitored. Requested a later check out. None granted. The check in directions required that we read them 4-5 times to put all the pieces together. Also the place was advertised as a 2BR. When the check in info came in, it was noted as a one bedroom. So I got nervous. Turned out to be a 2 bedroom. The place was on a train track. This was not terrible but one bedroom had a high window with no shade. No sleeping for light sensitive folks. Wake up for a cup of coffee. Sorry- must drink coffee from a soup bowl. The place was clean, trash still in a trash can though, and the beds were super hard. Maybe you like this, maybe not. I don’t know if all this was property manager choices or the way VRBO works. "

The cleaning fee goes towards the weekly cleaning service on the common areas(not the rooms). If you leave a mess, the cleaning company will charge at least a fifty dollar fee for extra clean up. Smoking is not allowed inside. There is a two hundred fifty dollar fee for smoking. If there is something broken or missing when the cleaning company gets there they will go to store and have it replaced, the charge is fifty dollars for their time and travel plus cost of goods. If something breaks by accident just message or call me as soon as it happens and I should be able to buy product online to avoid the cost of time and travel fee that the cleaning company charges. Guests are not allowed to have parties/get togethers nor bring additional guests that are not noted at time of booking. Persons who are not checked in are not permitted in the house. To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone, please keep all personal belongings within your reserved suite rather than in common areas.

Important Note: Utilities are not included in the reservation fee. A separate utilities charge of $175 per month will be billed at the end of each month.
