This accommodation is ideal if you are working away from home, holidaying for any length of time or a 3 night stay to see the Broken Hill highlights on the way through to your destination. Maximum of 4 adults permitted.

This cottage accommodation is unique in Broken Hill - it has an in-ground pool. If you don't always enjoy a dip, you can relax inside. It's welcoming, light, airy and comfortable. It's the perfect place to relax after walking in the dust and heat around the local attractions that include Pro-Hart Gallery (2 streets away), The Sculptures and Silverton. Put your feet up and watch an assortment of DVDs.

The cottage was built in the 1930s - a 'Tinny' made from timber and corrugated iron. The floors are timber and the kitchen bluestone tiles. The cottage has 2 a queen size master bedroom with mirrored built in wardrobes and a double bedroom. Each bedroom is comfortably appointed with superior blankets, quilts and fresh linen. The queen and double rooms have split system reverce cycle airconditioning and heating and for those that prefer each room has an oil column heater to take the chill off the air.

The cottage is on a main road, however the trucks en-route from Adelaide to Sydney do not drive past the cottage - their route is a block away. Local traffic is not busy - although this does include some trucks (but they're not using their brakes and creating lots of noise).

The Pool House has a fully appointed kitchen including a Lavazza Jolie Coffee Pod Machine, an electric stove and oven, sandwich maker, deep electric fry pan, round electric skillet, sauce pans, nutri bullet blender, baking trays and small and large utensils. The kitchen is a bit tired and needs some attention - that will be done in the near future.

The open living and dining areas are tastefully decorated and has a 6 seater timber dining table which is great also for playing board games and cards.

The laundry has ironing facilities and a washing machine. There is no dryer, just fresh, clean air to dry your clothes - for the time being.

This cottage is not suited to travellers that can't use a shower that is situated over the bath. The corrugated iron feature and timber bathroom has a roll top, claw foot bath with overhead shower and separate toilet. The shower head has optional sprays and a charcoal filter ensuring water softness. The toilet is also accessible from the outside pool area. The toilet is not designed to have a door fitted - it's one bathroom/laundry facility divided by a wall - to use the loo, you shut the bathroom door.

You will be comfortable with air conditioning to cope with the heat. A split system is installed in the OPEN plan area to cope with humidity during summer and provide warmth in winter. A wood combustion heater (you can buy wood locally) is in the lounge room. Queen and double bedrooms also have new split systems installed.

The yard is secure with 5 and 6ft high fences and has off street parking with a gate that closes.

Adjacent to the secure pool is a paved area with large 4 burner hoded BBQ with plate and grill and a 9kg gas bottle. The gas is free but you must clean the BBQ after use.

There are 2 tables and chairs in different locations for your outside dining or a grassed area for your relaxation with 2 comfy Adirondack chairs.

(Note: All efforts are made to ensure the pool is available for swimming at all times. April - October pool is maintained once weekly and during November - March the pool is cleaned twice weekly for regular swimming. If leaves bother you, scoop with the equipment. The pool equipment is in top conditions however unforeseen problems can occur rendering the pool unavailable. All efforts will be made to rectify this - no refunds apply to pool unavailability.

This cottage provides such a 'welcome home' feeling as soon as you enter that it will be difficult to leave. It's so cosy but has pops of colour making it cheerful too.

It has an enclosed verandah offering a sun drenched reading nook and breakfast area. It has lovely street appeal with a fragrant garden. The cottage offers separate rooms allowing for alone time if sharing accommodation for work. The recently updated kitchen is compact and offers everything you need. The laundry is equipped with washing machine, Ironing board and iron dryer for winter days and the occasional rain.

This cottage is on Williams St which is a continuation of the Barrier Highway - the highway ends when you arrive in Broken Hill from the Adelaide side. As many guests have said, there is noise but you hardly notice it when inside. The queen bedroom is in the middle of the house and not at the front in order to minimise the noise heard at night. Some of our top motels are set on the highways and so the decision is yours whether or not to make a home at the cottage for a few nights with a little noise.

The cottage is across the road from the Memorial Oval which is popular, hosting dog shows, community events, and football is played there during the footy season. Once a year the Silver City Show is held in September from Thursday to Saturday - the dates change each year - check the dates on the internet.

There is no off street parking however the corner block offers plenty of parking with direct access to the cottage. It sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms. The double bedrooms has built in mirrored wardrobes. Relax in the sun filled enclosed verandah or read a book in the nook.
