A 350 year old 3 bedroom house in the heart of Northumberland.
It’s old and definitely quirky.
There are 2 spare bedrooms with a door leading into the other.
But don’t worry, I won’t let both rooms out to different groups at the same time.

The house is just 500 metres from Hadrians Wall and wall walkers, pets and families are welcome.

The space
Once again, the main aspects to note at 1a, are the through door to both rooms and the downstairs bathroom.
There’s no extractor fan in the bathroom, so it can get a little steamy in there!
There are also steps around the house at is built on different levels.

During your stay
The walk into the village is no fun as there’s no pavement along the A68.
But don’t worry, I’m happy to give you a lift to and from Corbridge on your stay
I can also pick up walkers from Portgate or anyone else from Corbridge or Hexham train station.

A stone built but modernised & comfortable cottage with enclosed garden, light and airy with great views to the west . In a quiet rural location but only a mile from Corbridge and all services. Not far to Hadrian's Wall, Roman sites and the beautiful Northumbrian coast. We welcome one well behaved pet. Although the cottage is attached to the main farmhouse it is very quiet due to the nature of the thick old stone walls and rural location.

Attached to Dilston New Town Farmhouse this charming annexe has been newly renovated to provide holiday accommodation to an excellent standard. The cottage has been tastefully decorated and well-furnished throughout and large velux windows in the kitchen area maximises a lovely bright and airy ambience. Upstais there is the option of a kingsize bed or two singles please state preference. High quality pure cotton linen and towels are supplied. There is a sofa bed in the sitting room. Dilston is only a mile from the picturesque village of Corbridge, renowned for its many charming shops, pubs and restaurants and quaint tea rooms.

There is off road parking just next to the cottage on our driveway and we are a 10 minute walk from Corbridge Railway station with frequent trains to Newcastle and Carlisle .Corbridge is a 15 minute walk and buses depart regularly to Newcastle and Carlisle at the bottom of our road.

Embrace the peace and quiet of the countryside surroundings and unwind at this peaceful retreat with amazing sunsets, dark skies and beautiful walks. only 1.5 miles from Corbridge, 4 miles from Hexham and 18 miles from Newcastle.
The annex does have a small kitchenette where a simple meal can be prepared for an evening relaxing with a glass in front of log burner after a day of walks or sightseeing. If the sun is shining there’s a table with chairs outside the property.

The space
We have tried to make the accommodation comfortable and relaxing. The bedroom has a comfy, king size bed, a double wardrobe with plenty hanging space and storage. There’s two windows with blackout curtains, one window looks onto the front court yard WN some beautiful sunset light in the summer and the other faces NE onto the back garden. It’s peaceful and quiet and you’ll have a good night’s sleep.

The living room also faces WN and some beautiful sunsets can been seen all year round. It has a cosy log fire, with sofa, an armchair, dining table and a small kitchenette with sink, combi oven and hob. There’s also a fridge/freezer.

The private bathroom: a spacious area with a shower, toilet and basin.

The annex has its own door with hallway which includes a cupboard and coat hanging space where shoes and boots can be left. There’s also some blankets, a table cloth and cushions when using on the garden table.

All the space is available for guests, in summer there will be a seating area where guests can sit in the garden.

Other things to note
Corbridge is 1.5 miles away with some lovely shops, pubs and restaurants. The Black Bull has a cosy atmosphere and offers food as do the other pubs, such as The Dyvels and The Angel. There’s some good pizza places and great places for breakfast/brunch; including the newly opened Sycamore restaurant, the Pele and the Larder. We love The Valley which offers amazing Indian cuisine and it’s just beside the Railway Station. For thosthose wanting to have refreshing walk, there’s The Travellers Inn, which do afternoon tea, lunch and dinner. There’s some lovely quirky shops in Corbridge, my favourite is RE just behind the Shell Garage. I also like Neptune (just beside the Dyvels pub/ railway). There’s an independent bookshop which is well worth a visit, as are the shops on Main Street.

Hexham is four miles away, turn left out of the gate, right at next junction and left at next junction and then right. Keep driving on this road over a bridge, past the swallow ship and you’ll arrive in Hexham. There’s a great theatre there, The Queen’s and The Vault which is a music venue (we’re off to see Martin McAloon from Prefab Sprout). There’s also a cinema. Restaurants which I can recommend include The Beaumont Hotel and Bouchons. I can highly recommend Zika Indian restaurant/take-away.

Closer home there’s some lovely walks, we have left maps for your perusal, but any questions please ask. There’s some good places to eat on these walks, Lord Crewe Arms in Blanchland, The Travellers Rest in Slalely, The Dipton Mill Inn, in Dipton Mill. There’s an easier walk along the river from Hexham to Warden where you’ll find both a pub The Boatside Inn and a coffee shop.

'Corbridge View' is a wonderful one-bedroom period apartment with an outstanding panoramic outlook over Corbridge, arguably the most picturesque village in Northumberland. The apartment has unbeatable views over the 13th century Market Square, Vicars Pele Tower and St Andrews Church. The property offers an abundance of restaurants, pubs, independent shops, walks and places to visit literally on the doorstep.

The space
Corbridge View is accessed via private access on Middle Street and is predominately situated on the first and second floor of the building. The combined lounge, kitchen and dining area is on the first floor, with some further stairs leading to the bedroom and bathroom on the second floor. The bathroom also features a separate shower and jacuzzi bath.

Corbridge View is a period property dating back to 1897 and due to the nature of the building, some of the staircase stairs are steep and some beams on the second floor can restrict head height. We think it adds to the charm but certainly worth noting, especially if you struggle with unorthodox staircases. For this reason, we would not recommend the property to elderly, anyone with mobility issues or infants. If you require any further or detailed info regarding accessibility, please just ask!

Corbridge has a wide selection of transport options, with both a regular bus service and a train station. Parking is free in the village square, directly opposite the property. Other paid parking is widely available in the village.

Dilston Mill is in a secluded but convenient position. It is only one mile from Corbridge and two from Hexham. These charming and historic towns with Roman remains and ancient churches also offer excellent dining and other amenities, including a theatre, cinema, swimming pool and country park. Dilston Mill is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty with a rich heritage from the Romans of Hadrian’s Wall to medieval castles, bastles and pele towers of the untamed 17th century Reivers and classic country houses and gardens.

Dilston Mill’s location and atmosphere provide a special experience: with peace, quiet and low key use of resources. Dilston Mill has been in tune with current ‘Green’ practices long before they became popularly promoted. The Mill is located on a public footpath, linking to local countryside walks. Dilston Mill visitors are special; there is only one party at a time in the Private Suite.
