This beautifully newly renovated detached retreat is the perfect escape, whether for a few days or a week, or even longer. It has king 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, both with The White Company linen (or equivalent) and sumptuous Hungarian goose down duvets and pillows. Ideally situated in the village close to the beach, golf club, park, fabulous local restaurants and traditional British pubs. The property is secluded from the main street in a courtyard, and gates lead from the main street. There is on road parking outside the gates and if you would prefer to park inside, the courtyard has ample space. The kitchen has all the usual amenities plus a dishwasher and washing machine. To make your stay pleasurable the property benefits from BT hi speed free Wifi, Apple TV, land line telephone, Bose bluetooth speaker, DVD players and large screen Smart TV. Outside there are tables and chairs with The White Company cushions, and table linen. The beach, park and local shops are literally minutes walk away, the post office and general store is directly opposite just across the road. Usually we are flexible with check in times, however due to Covid 19 and aiming to keep everyone safe, we will be applying strict check in and out times, and we will be leaving a day between guests changing over. We will ensure the property is deep cleaned after each stay. Although disappointing, we have removed many soft furnishings from the property including large cushions , throws and ornaments for the highest hygiene standards. To ensure the highest clean possible, we will use a disinfectant spray on all soft furnishings that can't be laundered each time, eg settee, carpets, blinds, chairs, carpets. As we move out of the pandemic, we will continue to offer a deep clean and cushions / throws etc will be reintroduced

Really well equipped and the Prosecco and sunflowers very welcoming! We ate in and found the kitchen area adequate for our needs. It literally is a couple of minutes from (in our opinion) the best part of the beach and the view from the large windows is lovely, despite the building works opposite . The weather was great and we enjoyed the sunsets from the window. Alnmouth in a lovely place and Seabreeze is perfectly situated. The owners came to my rescue when I left my phone charger at home. A very pretty coastal cottage tucked away in the delightful village of Alnmouth. Platone Cottage is in a great spot, with the beach on the doorstep and the village amenities close at hand. This pet friendly cottage is beautifully presented with painted boarded walls and pretty furnishings. Accommodation is over two floors with a couple of bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor and cosy living area and kitchen dining room on the ground floor. Outside the property there’s a lovely courtyard garden, perfect for relaxing with a coffee over breakfast.
The cottage is close to the beautiful Heritage Coast and the historic market town of Alnwick. You may recognise Alnwick Castle as the location of Hogwarts from the Harry Potter movies. Spence Lodge is the ideal family retreat, especially for those with limited mobility, as it is situated on the ground floor. As you approach the private entrance porch through the beautiful gardens and down a one-stone step, you enter a spacious, dining room/entryway. On your left are the two bedrooms and bathrooms and your right leads to a large open-plan kitchen/living room.
Living Spaces:
The bright and modern space of the open plan Kitchen/lounge creates a warm and homely feeling, with the Stoves range cooker in the centre of the Kitchen catching your eye. The Kitchen is traditional, with a Belfast sink and chrome accessories, which is fully equipped with everything you need for a home-away-from-home holiday apartment, including a microwave, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, washing machine and an electric hob.
The lounge is fully furnished to the highest standard, including a comfortable sofa and two relaxing leather armchairs. The heart of the Lounge is the open fire log burner with mantelpiece surround. To each side of the chimney breast are bookshelves with plenty of books to read during your stay. Patio doors lead out into the private outdoor area.
The dining area has a modern style round table and chairs that comfortably seat four guests. Please request in advance if you require a highchair and/or a travel cot, as these can be provided for you free of charge.

Leading through to the Master Bedroom, you’ll find a grand, comfortable king-sized bed furnished with luxurious linen and throw, giving you the best opportunity for a perfect night’s sleep. Spence Lodge is one of four properties on the plot of land and has four car park spaces within the courtyard, one space per property.
Additional Notes:
Whilst Spence Lodge is a private apartment, it shares a plot with its sister cottages at Hallsteads. The properties share a courtyard and driveway; one space is allocated to each cottage. If you're struggling to book your preferred dates, look at the other cottages: Garden Stables, South Stable and Pope Lodge; you'll find them under the host's listed properties. Or if you're staying for a wedding or with a larger group, you may be interested in booking more than one property; it's the perfect way to go on holiday with a larger group whilst still having the privacy of your cottage.
Whilst there is one shallow entrance step, this house was designed to accommodate the owner's mother, who was in a wheelchair. The doors are standard size, but the property has no internal stairs. Parking is also outside on the driveway, so it's a short walk!

Head to The Alnwick Garden to find 12 acres of magnificent gardens and the world’s largest treehouse restaurant.

Getting Around:
Alnmouth train station is a short five minute drive from The Chimneys so local towns in Northumberland can easily be reached via rail. Located on the main East coast line, express trains stop at Alnmouth train station throughout the day so you can get a direct train to London in just three-and-a-half hours. Edinburgh is just one hour away, Berwick upon Tweed and Newcastle just half an hour. Pope Lodge is located just a mile from the station so you can hop in a taxi easily.

The property is also within 15 minutes’ drive time of Alnwick and 35 minutes’ drive time to Bamburgh.

There are a number of bus stops throughout Alnmouth. Hop on the 418 which takes you through to Belford with stops in beautiful areas of Northumberland like Craster, Beadnell and Bamburgh. The X18 route travels between Newcastle and Berwick upon Tweed with stops in Morpeth, Amble and Seahouses.

As you wander through the gardens and up a handful of stone steps to your private entrance porch, you'll be greeted by the doorway into this stunning private apartment. Pope Lodge has an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area full of skylights and windows that flood the room with plenty of light. Renovated and furnished to the highest of modern standards while keeping its rich character, including high vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, Pope Lodge has the wow factor. It is fully equipped with all utensils and crockery to make cooking here as easy as possible. A traditional style kitchen also features a Belfast sink with chrome accessories, ceramic hob, double oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer dryer and a Nespresso Coffee machine. Although only for cosmetic purposes, the owners could hold onto the original black range fireplace, which was unique for the property, and all modern necessities, including a large smart TV with Freeview and Netflix, surround it. Pope Lodge also has WIFI throughout.

Please note that Netflix is an app on the smart TV and doesn't have a specific house account. Guests are welcome to use their own Netflix account and any other streaming services available with their login, but please make sure that you log out at the end of your stay.

A spacious, beautiful wooden dining table can seat up to four guests opposite a traditional sash window overlooking the gorgeous gardens. The window seat is a perfect sport to curl up with a book or to even sit with a drink and watch the world go by.

As you enter the Bedroom, you'll be greeted with a large, comfortable king-sized bed with luxurious linens and throws, ensuring a perfect night's sleep and plenty of storage room to hang up your clothes and accessories. Through to the En-Suite Bathroom, you'll find a large bathtub with an overhead shower surrounded by large stone tiles and underfloor heating.

Whilst Pope Lodge is a private apartment, it shares a plot with its sister cottages at Hallsteads. The properties share a courtyard and driveway; one space is allocated to each cottage. If you're struggling to book your preferred dates, look at the other cottages: Garden Stables, South Stable and Spence Lodge; you'll find them under the host's listed properties. Or if you're staying for a wedding or with a larger group, you may be interested in booking more than one property; it's the perfect way to go on holiday with a larger group whilst still having the privacy of your cottage.

This spacious family holiday home has a wonderful collection of furniture, and artwork and has been decorated to create a warm and welcoming home-from-home during your stay. Walk through the garden gate and rear patio/courtyard to enter the property’s well-equipped kitchen. Here you can hang your coats and store outdoor shoes. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare delicious meals, and you can gather around the spacious table in the adjoining dining room to enjoy them together. The room also features a cosy wood burner and a couple of comfortable chairs for added relaxation during mealtimes. A useful cupboard off the dining room houses the freezer and a washer/dryer and there is also a handy downstairs WC. From here, move through French doors into the lounge with a warming open fire and comfortable seating where you can watch a movie on the Smart TV, or choose a book from the shelves. Off the lounge is a porch and the ‘front door’ which opens onto the enclosed garden. Head upstairs to the first floor to find a king-size and a double bedroom. This special cosy cottage is full of character with beamed ceilings, woodburner, an outside space with loungers and the bonus of having village life on the doorstep. Minutes walk from the beautiful Aln estuary and long sandy stretch of beach, it is perfect for walkers or those who long to escape and breathe in some sea air! Pilots Cottage is just off the main street which offers a cafe, deli, pubs, restaurants , village shop and a gift shop. Parking is on street.
One well behaved dog is welcome.

The cottage entrance is straight off the lane into the sitting area with woodburner, sofa, chair , footstool, dining table with 2 chairs and kitchen round the corner. There is a coat stand and boot jack for outdoor clothing. The kitchen has a microwave, oven, hob, under counter fridge, sink Tassimo coffee machine and utensils. A small under stair cupboard houses an ironing board and iron if required, plus hoover and brush and dustpan. There is an oven glove and tea towel provided.
From the main door the stairs lead to the high beamed ceilinged bedroom with king size bed, 2 bedside tables, wardrobe , 2 chairs and chest of drawers. The ensuite toilet also has a shower and wash hand basin.
From the kitchen there is an external door which takes you to the outside sitting area with loungers, bins and external tap.

Entrance hallway with hanging for coats, boots and wellies. A washing machine is available. The hallway leads through to a large, bright and sunny kitchen with a glass roof. Flooded with natural light there is a large family dining table, cooker, oven, dishwasher and fridge freezer and microwave.

The new luxurious downstairs bathroom has a large walk in shower, w.c. and sink, with underfloor heating.

Living room is spacious with wood burning stove in Inglenook fireplace, there are large sofas and comfy chairs a TV/DVD, iPod docking station and games library.

Beautifully renovated Victorian coach house with dual aspect views on to Northumberland Street from the front and stunning tidal riverside views from the rear. The Coach House sits alongside a prominent Georgian house, which it shares the name - Seafield. The property is located in the very heart of Alnmouth, with the beach, the pubs, the restaurants and the ambience all within touching distance. Access to the Coach House is entirely separate from the main house, via an inviting staircase.

The space
The Coach House has its own private access and is very much a self-contained apartment. This holiday apartment has been completely refurbished this year, to a very high standard. The Coach House was originally built in the mid 1800's when the entire property was a famous Coaching Inn called The Northumberland Arms. Seafield is a very special property and offers unique views of the tidal riverside.

The apartment is entirely self contained. There are no shared spaces. The owners live in the Georgian house next door.
