As part of living in Australias natural environment, we want to let you know that household pests such as ants, cockroaches, flies, lizards, snakes, spiders etc are common in Australia and are more common during the spring and summer seasons. While we take every preventative measure to minimise their presence – including regular cleaning between each guest, pest control treatments, and secure food storage – their occasional appearance is something we cannot fully control and they may surface during your stay. If this occurs please reach out and we'll happily assist to rectify this where we can.

No parties or events – This is a peaceful home. Unauthorized gatherings will result in cancellation of your stay, without refund.

No smoking indoors – Smoking is not allowed inside. A cleaning fee of $250 applies if this rule is broken.

Quiet hours – Please keep noise to a minimum between 10pm and 7am to be considerate of our neighbours.

Take care of the property – If something is damaged or goes missing, please let us know so we can sort it quickly. Guests are responsible for replacements/repairs.

Check-out – Before leaving, kindly remove rubbish, wash and put away dishes, and leave the home tidy. Extra cleaning fees apply if the home is left in poor condition.

Keys & access devices – Lost or unreturned keys and fobs will incur replacement charges.

Ours is a late 1950s house with large rooms, wooden floors and high ceilings. There is ample parking as we are on a 1/4 acre block so if you are towing a trailer, caravan or boat there is plenty of room. There is also ample space if you need to wash any gear down.

The beach is located 500m at the end of our street so you can enjoy our fabulous Geraldton sunsets. There is a great walking/cycle path along the beachfront which takes you into the City centre (south) or north to the Chapman River.

Guests have a large bedroom with queen bed and plenty of cupboard/drawer space. The bathroom and toilet are located adjacent to the bedroom. Louvre windows allow a seabreeze to flow through and there is also a ceiling fan for added comfort. We are happy to share our kitchen with you for cooking or making a cup of tea or coffee.

During your stay
We are happy to help our guests with any queries they may have about the area. We love water sports and are happy to show you where the best places are for walking, cycling, surfing, paddle boarding, windsurfing etc.

The space
The house was built in 1940 and it's quirkiness is a highlight. The courtyard has a large poinciana tree in the centre of it and you'll find this the most relaxing place to hang about. We're a tight knit little street so people may wave and say Hi. Your bedroom is private and the bed is ultra comfy! I hope you feel at ease in there. If you like darkness in the morning, maybe bring an eye mask ;-)

The large living room is a great place to relax (no TV), feel free to have the doors wide open to get the full experience, whilst the smaller, cosier sitting room has a TV. Reggie, a Lab Kelpie, is gentle and social so he might follow you around but he easily follows commands. Please be kind to him.

This is an older home and it has been partly renovated (some spaces are in the middle of improvement, but should not affect your stay) so there are some quirks to the place - flooring is mismatched (concrete, cork, tiles, rugs), house layout, original windows, your bedroom door is a bit wonky...if a new, more design friendly place is your style or if you are uncomfortable around dogs then my home will not be ideal for you.

If you are travelling from overseas, please do your research on Australian nature and weather. We have bugs, spiders & insects here, most are harmless and it's a part of our Australian way of life to just manage them. They are attracted to moisture and like to find cooler spaces eg inside our Australian homes (unless homes are hermetically sealed, it is unavoidable. This happens to the cleanliest and well maintained homes).
This is a very old building and was built very sound with ventilation. It is not a 100% sealed property so we may experience some insects or bugs that may venture in from the Australian weather. A few bugs/insects in Australia are NOT considered an infestation. If you are not ok with this possibility, please find a place more suitable for your needs.

DUST:
Although the property is clean and tidy, there is potential for dust to blow inside. If this has potential to affect you in any way, or if you prefer a spotless sterile space, please find a place more suitable for your needs.
