Especially the bathroom! My kids would not shower in it. They showered at my mom's townhouse. The house was very noisy as well. - "There were certain things that I was looking for when I booked this VRBO. I thought I had found all that I needed, but the description on the site doesn't match the actuality. This "one bedroom" studio is definitely not 1132 sq ft. It's probably closer to 110 sq ft. Parking is not available every day (scheduled street sweeping prevents it certain days). The kitchen was not fully equipped nor some things in good condition. Lighting isn't well distributed so that parts of the room are bright and other parts very dark. If the description would have been accurate, I wouldn't have chosen this particular property because it didn't meet my needs. I will say that it was in a nice, quiet neighborhood, and I felt very safe there."

The suite is private but the entrance and other side of the basement are shared spaces. Enjoy the quiet neighborhood or walk to the local park. Not far from Downtown, Altru Hospital, or University park. It’s the perfect place to stay to attend UND sporting events or shop downtown. Absolutely no unapproved guests.

Sleeping arrangements are a queen bed and couch. Within the bedroom is a desk to utilize for work or school. We have this Scandinavian Room, one of two uniquely decorated bedrooms in the lower level of our ranch home in the center of Grand Forks. One full bathroom is steps away from your bedroom door and will be for your private use. If your party is also renting the second room, our Western-themed room, you will be sharing this bathroom. There is also a private cozy living area with a TV/DVD with extensive DVD library for your use.

The space
This room has been decorated in a delightfully unique way. The Scandinavian Room features white furniture along with a queen bed and crisp linens and duvet reminiscent of Norway and Sweden. The cheery daffodil-painted walls along with accents of red and blue throughout create a European feel. There is a large full bathroom steps from your room and a cozy living space which gives our guests their desired privacy. A computer work table is provided, and in addition to the hundreds of DVDs at your disposal, there is a large case of family games to wile away the evenings. A small refrigerator sits on the table in the shared living space, and holds complimentary bottles of cold water.

We are empty nesters and we love to share our unique home! We are about a 5 minute drive from the Betty (volleyball and basketball arena) and the Ralph which is the hockey palace. We are also about 10 min from the Alerus (UND football/concerts/conventions.) We are just 4 or 5 blocks from Altru so medical personnel love our location. We love to meet new people, especially UND sports parents since we have been there, done that.

The space
The space is in the lower level of our ranch home. It is very large (2800 sq ft) and has high ceilings so you will feel like you are in a house rather than a basement. Guests share the entry way but once you go down the steps you have a lot of privacy and lots of space. There are 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a family room with a TV, bar/kitchenette, a game room with pool table and fireplace, and 2 couches and 3 love seats. The bedrooms are on opposite ends of the basement so there is a lot of privacy for both groups of people. The far end bedroom actually has 2 queen beds so 4 could sleep in that area. Besides the pool table there is a dart board, an arcade basketball game, and board games.

We have a gazebo in the front yard you may use if the weather is nice. Our guests who smoke like to use this space.

During your stay
We will be available to visit and help you get around GF but if you want to do your own thing that is fine too. You will have a lot of privacy. Our basement is like it's own house.. about 2800 square feet. We do share the entry way with our guests as our door to the garage is right there at the top of the stairs.

During UND sports season, we would be happy to accommodate our guests with transportation to games if needed and if it works out for us. Please request that ahead of time and we will do our best to accommodate you.
