The Village House is a fully restored farmhouse nestled at the foot of the bluffs in beautiful Winona. The house has been completely remodeled but still has loads of character with exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and gracious furnishings. The outdoor spaces are equally inviting, especially the patio which is surrounded by gardens with a view of our charming neighborhood. Each bedroom has a full private bath so no one has to share. We're conveniently located just minutes from historic downtown Winona, two university campuses, and the Mississippi River.

We are inspected annually by the MN Department of Health and licensed by the City of Winona. We have cameras facing only our parking lot. The cameras are on for security and safety of our guests. "Tiny House Living"! All the amenities of home only smaller. This is a great place! Sit by the creek and listen to the water run or cozy up to the "Tiny" wood burning fireplace to get away from it all. We also have a fire pit out front- please bring wood if your wanting to use. This is a 3 level cabin- there is a spiral staircase to get to the 2nd floor which is narrow and maybe challenging for older/ or not so agile folks. The stairs to the 3rd floor are regular stairs and 3rd floor sleeping area has low ceilings that you may not be able to stand up straight. Fun little place to rest your head and if your looking for something different... then this would be the place for you!
Situated right on the Minnesota State Snowmobile trails. Trails also great for walking/4 wheeling/ biking. We do have chickens & a dog on our property. You are not alone on this property we live in the house off to the left of the cabin.

The space
The Driftless Retreat is located along Gilmore Valley Road. There is a steep shared driveway and the cottage is first home on the left. The space includes two bedrooms with a king and queen bed. There's also a pull out bed in the sofa in the living room. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances and a coffee and tea bar along with typical cooking items. The bathroom has a rain shower and hand held shower head. We supply all natural Public Goods shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and hand soap. There is a medicine cabinet and storage closet in the bathroom where you will find towels for each guest. A washer and dryer is available for guest use at no cost. There are two televisions on the property in the living room and master bedroom with access to Netflix. Finally, there's a beautiful wood burning fire place in the living room for small fires on cold evenings.

Hosts live on site for all your needs! We've got 3 indoor cats, 4 outdoor cats, and a possum or two! Check out the Catio in the back, and some of the funny and interesting art pieces! We also have a massage chair!

We typically keep to ourselves, but we do love to engage with our guests, meet new people, and hear their stories!

The space
Our apartment features two main rooms and a bathroom.

Bedroom - This main room of this apartment includes a queen size bed, sitting area with couch, Smart TV with Netflix, desk and large closet. Get comfy in soft sheets with plenty of pillows and a warm blanket. You'll be able to dim the light with window shades and blackout curtains.

Kitchen - Make yourself a meal grab a local foodie find to munch on at the table. You'll have access to a gas stove, refrigerator, microwave and toaster. We've also created a coffee and tea station to enjoy your favorite morning beverage.

Bathroom - All the essentials...plus a little extra. The bathroom has a tub with shower, washer and dryer with detergent, fresh and fluffy towels and we'll provide toiletries to make your stay more comfortable.

This is a private apartment just for our guests. You have your own door with a lock and access the entrance through a shared hallway in our home.

Other things to note
Please note: We live on the bottom floor of the home with our toddler and baby. There is a chance you may hear them and we like our guests to be aware of the possibility.

Our property is located one block from train tracks. You may feel a gentle swaying sensation when a train goes by a few times a day.

A roomy, but cozy upstairs loft with den, kitchen, bedroom with new queen bed, and full bath. The futon couch in the den can be made into a full size bed. Guest wifi and television with cable included. Shared entrance with homeowner but completely private space with locked door at top of main stairs.

The space
The most common description guests have of our loft is clean, comfortable, and cozy. It could be called "modern rustic." The den and sleeping area is an open design, with a 3/4 wall separating them. The kitchen and bathroom both have doors for privacy--if you are an early riser, go into the kitchen, close the door, and make your coffee and enjoy the view out the kitchen window overlooking the nearby bluffs!

The bathroom is a truly special retreat. It features a cast iron soaker tub, double sinks, and walk in tile shower with glass enclosure. We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, epsom salts, and bubble bath.
The bedroom has a nice queen size mattress, high thread count sheets, and fine decorations.
Finally, feel free to use the stacked laundry just off the kitchen. laundry detergent will be provided.

The Little Train Depot is a comfortable space for you to relax while visiting the quaint river town of Winona. There are a number of things to do in the area including; the Midwest Music Festival, Great River Shakespeare Festival, Frozen River Film Festival, boating on the Mississippi, visiting our local museums or vineyards, enjoy the unique Lark Toys, shops with local artisans, visiting our weekly farmers market or just relax by the lakes.

The space
The house is equipped with everything you'll need to allow you to enjoy your stay. This is a one bedroom house with a queen bed. The bathroom has a walk-in shower with a built in bench for accessibility. The living room has a pull out couch, a comfy chaise, and plenty of space to play boardgames (provided). Enjoy your coffee in the morning on the sunny front porch. At this time, we do not offer laundry at the house. There is however a laundromat a few blocks away. The house is conveniently located and within walking distance of Lake Winona, Winona State University campus, and the historic Winona Train Station. You will hear the sounds of the trains but we provide a sound machine for any light sleepers. The house has been newly renovated with special touches to make it feel like home.

You will be provided a code for the keyless entry. Wi-Fi info will be found inside along with maps and info about local restaurants, locally owned shops, festivals and events, and outdoor activities.

If you're planning to stay with your dog please read the following. We know how important it is to take your whole family with you when you travel. In order to make sure we can maintain safety for all, we require that your dog is up to date on their shots and have treatment to assure they do not have fleas. So, please be prepared to provide this information prior to your visit. We have a unfenced back yard where you are welcome to walk your dog. We just ask that you pick up their waste. We do have a local dog park and we provide information about it's location in our info folder. We also provide dog dishes and a dog bed for their comfort.

* This unit has two skylights which provide natural light into the apartment. They have remote control blinds that close to darken the space. NOTE: Due to the design of the building, these are the only windows in the apartment.
** This unit does not have access to a thermostat for temperature control. The heating/cooling system keeps the temp at a consistent 69-71 degrees at all times for multiple units. If guests would like the temperature adjusted, I can adjust it for them upon request.

NOTE* : We want to disclose that there can be some light vibration noise inside the unit from time to time from above. The noise comes from a deck/walkway/entrance that is built on the roof above the unit. There are permanent tenants that live in the buildings second and third levels that use this to enter/exit the building.
We have done our best to minimize this noise but a certain amount of light noise is unavoidable.

Treetops for 2 is located in the heart of Winona. The upstairs apartment has a secure, self check-in entrance located at the back of the house, has 1 BR (double bed), bathroom (shower), kitchenette and living area. It has a remote controlled heating/cooling system, cable and internet-enabled TV/DVD, and Wi-Fi. Guests share the driveway, back entrance, laundry room, and back patio. The steps up to the apartment are steep. The space is 3 blocks from a charging station.

The space
Treetops is a cozy apartment in the house built by John Dobbs for his family in 1871. Dobbs was a pioneer of Winona, he ran its first newspaper, the Republican Herald. The house is in the the center of town, close to the downtown area and next to Winona State University. It's at the hub of what's happening in today's vibrant cultural scene. Treetops is a great place to stay to take in the many wonderful attractions Winona has to offer. Stay for a weekend, a week or a month and attend one of our many festivals as well as enjoy all the culture, scenic beauty and outdoor recreation in the area.

During the warmer months, March 15th- Nov 15th- the public lot is available every day of the week. Detailed parking instructions will be provided in the self check in guide for all guests.

NOTE: The windows in this unit are sealed/locked/nonfunctioning- except for right bedroom window. This window does open in case of emergency and need for a second egress. Other than in case of emergency, PLEASE keep this window locked/closed at all times.

Looking for a getaway? Come to the Creekside cabin just outside city limits to test out "Tiny House Living"! All the amenities of home only smaller. This is a great place! Sit by the creek and listen to the water run or cozy up to the "Tiny" wood burning fireplace to get away from it all. Situated right on the Minnesota State Snowmobile trails. Trails also great for walking/4 wheeling/biking.

This apartment has been recently remodeled and furnished! NOTE: This is apartment is located in the lower level of my personal residence/duplex. The apartment is completely private and secured. Experience the beauty SE MN & the Driftless Region. We are located in the beautiful and secluded Wiscoy Valley which straddles the boundaries of Rushford and Winona, MN. Surrounding area includes small towns, rolling valleys, sparkling creeks, and short drives to the Mississippi and Root rivers. Located 53 miles from Rochester, MN, 12 from Winona, MN, and 30 from LaCrosse, WI.

The space
This location is ideal for nature enthusiasts and anyone looking to disconnect from technology for a bit. A quiet place for families visiting nearby colleges, healthcare centers, or those just enjoying the area.

This house was designed for nature lovers, it is set into a hill with gorgeous views of the valley. The surrounding environment has abundant wildlife, especially during spring bird migrations. Some sightings include, but are not limited to: owls, herons, pileated woodpeckers, hummingbirds, songbirds, and raptors. Wildflowers abound from early spring through fall frost.

While there is cellphone reception and internet, the strength of the signal is limited by the topographical challenges of being nestled in a valley against a bluff. The house also has a landline. There is not a TV. It is the perfect reprieve from the hustle & bustle of the world.

The house is fully winterized, and the valley has cool breezes to keep you comfortable in the warmer months. This house was built for individuals with chemical sensitivities and has wonderful indoor air quality. There was no plywood (which contains many chemicals) used in the construction of this house (with the exception of in the attic/roof). Every paint, caulk, adhesive, tape, finish, tile (bathroom), etc., was decided on by a natural consultant. The lumber is untreated and the paint does not include any volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The wallboard is magnesiacore which is not hospitable to bacteria, mold, mildew, etc., and is often used in hospital emergency rooms. The foundation (concrete) does not have any additives or drying agents. We do not use insecticides in and around this house.

Accessibility: There is one staircase between each floor with a railing (basement, first, and second floors). There are three steps to the front and back entrance of the house. The landline, bathroom, kitchen, dining table, master bedroom, and washing machine are on the main floor.

There are lots of trails and woods for hiking, bird-watching and creeks for puddle jumping. This house offers a great central location for hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing, snowshoeing, etc., whether you're in MN, WI, or IA. The valley can be icy in the winter months; you will want front wheel or four-wheel drive.

**Please NO INDOOR SMOKING of any type (please stay >100 feet from house when smoking outside). No pets or parties. Families traveling with young children should bring their own stair safety equipment. Non-negotiable checkout times due to time needed for enhanced cleaning guidelines.**

This is a small, cozy, 2 bedroom home with a large deck. With an awesome views, of the pasture and overlooking the whitewater valley.

This authentic stable boy's room boasts many original features like vintage barn wood, along with the remnants of the original fireplace used to heat the room back in 1870. Subtle green and cream accented with coral hues enhance the room's expressive appeal. The space

This cozy home has two queen beds and the bathroom is uniquely Snow White themed. Kitchen is fully stocked with pans, silverware, dishes, etc. Backyard is large and open for you to use at your leisure.

Located between highway 43 and highway 61 in Winona MN. A quarter mile walk to Sugar Loaf trailhead. Within a mile - Groceries, coffee, gas, & fast food and the local hospital.

The space
To give a better idea of the house layout. Guest bedrooms, guest bathroom and laundry room is on the south side of the house, kitchen and living room are located in the middle and we have two locked rooms on the north side of the house. Please be aware that to enter the house there are stairs.

This is a top/bottom duplex. There is one person who lives in the downstairs apartment. Please be aware of your noise levels/foot steps while in the kitchen and living room areas as this is their home too.
