Sevenoaks is a pleasant market town situated in the Weald of Kent and is an ideal base for touring the Garden of England. It is home to the Vine Cricket ground established in 1734 , one of the oldest cricket grounds in the world; some consider Sevenoaks Vine to be the home of cricket. Sevenoaks School founded in 1432, is situated at the top of the town on a 100-acre site adjoining Knole Park and is one of the country’s leading educational establishments attracting pupils from all over the world.

We have been running our accommodation for over 8 years and have welcomed guests from all over the world during that time. We strive to ensure that our guests have a pleasant and relaxing stay and we are able to provide much local knowledge about activities that are available locally.

Oak End Lodge is situated at the end of a quiet cul de sac in the former orchard of Seal Hollow House a renowned arts and crafts house. It is a tranquil location with views over an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the rear and over a sylvan wooded and park landscape to the front.

The accommodation is very spacious and superbly appointed with double bedroom, generous living room/dining area with a double sofa bed and large marble tiled bathroom with bath and shower. It is ideal for two to three adults or adults with children. It is accessed by its own internal stairway and private door.

... and after a busy day you can relax in our secluded garden and terrace.

There is ample on site (off street) parking free of charge with no restrictions.

Tucked away at the end of a leafy cul-de-sac, High Banks is in a tranquil environment surrounded by trees and greenery and yet extremely close to all the restaurants and shops of the very pleasant market town of Sevenoaks. It is also extremely convenient for the station which offers numerous fast trains to London and other parts of the South East of England. For those visitors arriving by plane we are no more than 40 minutes away from Gatwick airport.
The town itself is surrounded by beautiful countryside and only a short distance away there are numerous fascinating historic properties to visit and delightful villages to explore. The nearest of these is Knole House only a 5 minute drive away, a fine National trust property set in a glorious 1000 acre park with herds of deer roaming free. Within easy reach also by car are the National Trust properties of Chartwell (Winston Churchill’s delightful country home) and Quebec House (home of General Wolfe) both in Westerham only 6 miles away. The spacious master bedroom can be set up with a super kingsize bed or with twin beds. Built-in wardrobes stretch the whole length of the room. The original fireplace, wooden shutters, halo lighting and wooden floors create an entirely charming and restful room.

The second bedroom is a nice sized, elegantly decorated room, with beautiful, delicate blue floral paper adorning the walls and ceiling, giving the impression of being within a spring garden.

White painted floorboards stretch over the floor and white wooden shutters, shelving decorated with plants and a white ceiling fan adds to the effect of being within spring and summer. A built-in wardrobe provides considerable storage space. A trundle bed can be made up in this room to create a 4th bed, suitable for a child (if preferred, we can set the trundle bed up in the master bedroom)

The bathroom has a beautiful Antonio Lupi Corian deep free-standing bath with an integrated seat and has been positioned so as to enjoy the rooftops of the old jailhouse while taking a dip and sipping wine.

The sitting room is a spacious room, with large sash windows overlooking the high street, on trend with bicoloured walls of white and pavilion grey adding to the quirkiness of the property. A floor to ceiling cupboard provides shelving, houses the TV and contains a purpose-built pull-out desk, perfect for remote working!

The windows are adorned with solid wood shutters giving more character to the room but the highlight is the original fireplace embossed with dragons.

Free fibre broadband is available and Smart TV access to BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and 5 - as well, there are plenty of different games to play.

Underriver is a quite and peaceful hamlet in the garden of Kent only minutes away from Sevenoaks by car and London by train. We are about 50 minutes from Eurotunnel and an hour from Dover & Folkestone.

We are very happy to help you with getting to know the area and if riding or canoeing can provide safe storage.

Other things to note
The annexe is separate from the main house and above the garage with beautiful views over the garden.
There is a fridge on the ground floor of the annexe which you are welcome to use to keep things fresh, microwave & kettle.
The TV is powered by Amazon Firestick which gives you access to Netflix and catch up TV such as BBC iPlayer etc.
We do occasionally need to access the ground floor but are respectful of your privacy.

You’ll share several designer spaces including a spa bathroom with harmonious lighting, a purpose-built shower room , a small but perfectly imagined WC complete with golden carp!

You’ll have access to a beautifully appointed, well equipped kitchen with panoramic views on three sides. You’ll have access to an expansive view of an area of outstanding natural beauty which you can enjoy from one of 4 patio areas, enjoy some fresh air, peace and quiet, a feeling of complete peace and calm and in the summer hide away in a hammock or two.

You’ll meet the cat she’s called Trixie and she loves nothing more than to be petted (You have been warned). You’ll also have free offstreet parking and by arrangement as an additional cost you can charge an electric vehicle.

There will be times when you will have sole use of the family bathroom. It will depend on when you are booking and which family members are in or out of the house at that time.

You will be sharing the house with me your host and at times, my daughters. We are an incredibly artistic household, enjoying the visual arts and the performing arts.

As a keen interior ‘space’ designer, I have fashioned my home to reflect my love of space and my love of light to create calm and comfortable spaces to live, work and relax in.

We are perfectly situated for country walks right from the door step, so if you want to get away for a few days and leave everything for a break in nature, this place is it, without having to spend too much time getting here!

Perfect location if you are heading to Kent for a wedding. We are close to Penshurst Place, St Julians, Riverhill Himalayan Gardens, Hever Castle, Bore Place, Chiddingstone Castle, Chartwell or any of the churches and reception venues in the picturesque surrounding villages.

Within easy reach of south east based National Trust, English Heritage and historic days out. You can enjoy Chartwell, Hever Castle, Penshurst Place, Sissinghurst, Emmetts Gardens and Lullingstone Castle to name a few. You'll also be a 1 hour drive from Rye or Hastings for some sea air and great places to eat.

We also have plenty of Vinyards and they make a great day out - followed by a sun downer and a fire pit here!We welcome bookings from any gender any denomination to share our home space.

You will be sharing the 1/3 acre garden with us, but there are so many nooks, you'll easily feel private enough, plus, mostly we're out and about! Garden Games can be provided if you like to while away the hours.

You have your own kitchenette complete with hot water tap, fridge (and little freezer), 6 in 1 counter top oven, enough crockery and utensils to enjoy a few days of simple living.

You'll be surrounded by plants to further boost your mood and help you relax.

There is space under the bed to store your bags, hanging space and a generous mirror in case you need to get ready for a big occasion such as a Kent wedding.

There are many circular walk right from the doorstep. You can go off-road and walk to adjoining villages through fields and woods with well-signposted public footpaths. Or, if you'd prefer, stick to tarmac for a power walk or 5K run on the 'Weald Loop'. A 5K road based route, where you'll be in the heart of untainted English countryside, rising in gentle gradients to reveal enchanting views that lift the spirit. A regeneration for mind and body.

I use an app called Outdoor Active. I can share local circular routes with you on request. Or, make your own it so easy!

Whilst you have a private entry way, private self contained Studio, you will share the garden.

The garden has 5 generous patio or seating areas and your own small lawn just outside the Studio shaded by a beautiful tree.

You can use the fire pit (bring your own wood and kindling and let me know if you'd planning that) or, be ready to share our fire pit as we like a sun downer by the fire pit in fairer weather!

You can also do some amazing star gazing from here. In summer, catch some shooting stars during the Perseid meteor shower season from a blanket on the ground. Breathtaking!

Off street parking. We share the drive but you have a private pathway around the house to The Retreat Space.

You will self-check in and use the lock box to get the key … a full welcome pack will be on your bed so you can familiarise yourself with how things work. I do like to say hello at some point to check all ok, just to be friendly. And, happy if you prefer a do not disturb!

This listing offers two double bedrooms with shared bathroom on the top floor of an attractive Oxford stone house built in the 1880s.

Bedroom 1 has a generous double bed with headboard.

Bedroom 2 has a Japanese futon double bed with thick futon mattress.

The house boasts generous proportions, original period features and attractive shared living areas: kitchen-dining/sitting room, drawing/yoga room and snug with piano, TV and board games, utility room and downstairs loo.

Depending on your desire for privacy and my needs at the time, the house is large enough for us to agree shared and private spaces.

The entire top-floor will be available for your private use, depending on the number of guests.

Both top-floor bedrooms enjoy far-reaching views and share a spacious Victorian-style bathroom with a free-standing rolltop bath and separate shower.

Please note that the bedrooms are in the roof space. so head height is a little restricted in places.

Bedroom 1 has a standard John Lewis double bed with thick mattress.

Bedroom 2 has a double futon bed with thick futon mattress.

The middle floor is private, except by special arrangement, should you require a third bedroom (with access to a shared Fired Earth bathroom with a walk-in shower).

Desks and workspaces are available in all bedrooms.

Downstairs you will have access to the substantial hand-built kitchen with full cooking facilities, including an AGA cooker, and an open plan living-dining-yoga area, downstairs loo and utility room, and the garden beyond.

There is also a small snug with a piano, TV and games and an adults-only drawing room which may be made available on request.

At the rear of the house is an attractive, south-facing walled garden with sunny and shaded areas and patio dining for up to six people. Two sun loungers are available on request.

This Premium Property is located on a quiet road on the edge of the rural Kentish countryside but also on the doorstep of Brands Hatch, the London Golf Club, stunning Cycling & Walking routes plus historic Knole Park, Ightham Mote, Chartwell, Hever Castle, Penshurst and more.

The space
Cantium is our newly refurbished one bedroomed, stylish and cosy Apartment. It's adjoined to the Main House to the left side but has its own private front to the side and a separate back door which leads to the Woodland Garden.

Combined with Cantwara, we are now able to accommodate larger Groups up to 12 Guests as both the Main House & Apartment can be booked together.

In response to our Guests needs we have become very Family Friendly and now have a Travel Cot, High Chairs, a Changing Mat and a Potty for Families visiting with precious little Bundles of Joy.

The open plan Lounge/Dinning area is comfortable and stylish with quality furnishings. All our Cushions are feather for added luxury and comfort. The Sofa turns into a Double Bed to cater for extra Guests 'tall & small'.

There is a traditional woodturner which adds a very cosy dimension and a small supply of wood is left for our Guests. We also have a fireguard which can be used to protect our younger Guests.

We have installed an Apple TV system so you can sign into your streaming services but also offer a wide selection of Games and House Books for some alternative good old fashioned entertainment.

A Breakfast Bar has been created with bar stools and USB charging ports are installed so, a laptop can easily be used

This well proportioned space leads into the well equipped kitchen where a Sunday Roast could still easily be prepared. A washing machine is also provided but our Cantium Guests can also have use of the larger Utility Room located within our Shed/Storage area at the front of the property on request.

The bedroom has a very comfortable double bed and the Bedlinen provided is all branded, good quality and 100% cotton. The duvets and pillows are all duck feather for added comfort and luxury.

Plenty of storage and hanging space is provided and the bathroom right next door boasts a sizeable rain shower with good water pressure.

By Spring 2024, Cantium will also have its own Private Area within our beautiful Woodland Garden in order to enjoy our wonderful views of Knatts Valley.

We have a Drive which can accommodate at least 4 cars and so, we are still able to offer on-site parking for our Cantium Guests.

Cantium has everything a single / couple or small group would need for an enjoyable and comfortable stay in this event packed area of Kent, the Garden of England.

Guest access
Cantium has its own front and back door plus parking on the ample sized drive. There is a Key Safe located at the front door for easy access to the Apartment which is on the Ground Floor and to the left of the Main House.

Other things to note
We have a large Shed/Storage Area & Utility Room with a Washing Machine, Tumble Dryer etc. which we ask our Guests to share if both properties are occupied.

By Spring 2024, Cantium will also have its own Private Area within our beautiful Woodland Garden in order to enjoy our stunning views accross Knatts Valley.

Private off-street parking and hot tub (both free of charge) and EV charging available. Pets welcome.

The space
Entering through the front door from the courtyard presents the downstairs living space, with plentiful light flowing through the cafe style windows. To the left, a lounging area with a chez lounge sofa, table and two chairs. An island kitchen sits opposite with cupboards and an oven and washing machine tucked underneath the staircase. The island contains a fridge / freezer, sink, induction hob, and downdraft extractor. To the right of the stairs through a door is the delightfully decorated WC.

Proceeding up the solid oak staircase one finds the first floor bedroom with a king-sized bed and drawers beneath, two bedside cabinets, and a hamper for additional storage. Two electric Velux skylights and floor to shoulder doors opening to a juliet balcony overlooking the courtyard bathe the upstairs in natural light. Above the stairs sits a floor to ceiling cupboard containing the hot water tank on a closed loop system providing high pressure showers in the neighbouring luxurious shower cubicle.

Top quality designer fittings are used throughout which complete a fresh and modern colour scheme.

The sofa could be slept on by a third person and additional towels, chair, crockery etc provided.

The Annex is an entirely self contained unit but shares the driveway, courtyard, garden and hot tub with us and our home. The Annex has its own entrance from the courtyard.

My Wonderfully Eclectic Blue House

Welcome to my lovely green house in Plaxtol, set in a quiet and picturesque Kentish village.

My home is a pretty, deceptively spacious period double aspect cottage tucked away on a private road behind the village store.

Decorated in a range of Farrow & Ball paint, designer wallpaper and a mix of contemporary and eclectic vintage pieces and curiosities, it's charming and cosy throughout.

Standout feature is the large 0.6 acre garden

The space
The House: occupying 2 merged cottages, it is more spacious than most having double aspect windows which flood the house with natural light. Since the road is privately owned, it is very quiet and only used by other residents and delivery services. It has its own a garage but it is not set up for parking - guests may, at their own risk as it's a narrow road) park one vehicle in front of the garage. Please do not obstruct the private road as it is communally shared and used by my neighbours. There is always plenty of additional free and safe parking along The Street.

As you enter the house via the Stable style door, you'll step directly into the kitchen/dining area. With its soothing green decor and separate dining space with farmhouse table and wood burner, it's a lovely place to enjoy a meal. Since I'm a keen cook, my kitchen is well apportioned and equipped with everything you might need. Please be aware that it has a small freezer with my own produce within so there will not be space for a lot of frozen food of your own but there will be plenty of room in the fridge above. You are welcome to use my condiments in the larder and fridge.

Lounge: accessed through the kitchen/diner, this is a calm bright space with lots of cosy seating and a wall mounted tv (with all the usual broadband channels) and another woodburner. A painted open staircase leads upstairs to:

Built in cupboard with storage space for your guest clothing during your stay.

Bathroom: a caramel painted quirky room with full sized bath and flexible overhead shower and recessed WC. Please feel free to use the products on display during your stay. Towels are supplied in each room for guest occupancy.

Bed 1: featuring a folksy and fun wallpaper, this room is decorated in rich hues of teal with a velvet double bed and small recessed dressing table area. Built in cupboards are not for guest use as they contain my clothing (landing cupboard is free for guest use).

Bed 2: a soft, neutral, painted space with a French vintage double bed and dressing table area. There is also a small fitted desk area by the window for home-working.

Bed 3: a playfully themed single room with Sanderson wallpaper and a single bunk bed. This room has a TV with Blu Ray player and a selection of DVDs, as well as games, children's books and toys. I also supply a travel cot for babies and a blow up single mattress (in the landing cupboard)

Outside space: Although I do not have an attached garden space, behind my garage, is a 0.6 acre plot of natural land. Imagine spending summer days outside in your own private haven with nobody to overlook, surrounded by majestic trees - I even have my own small woodland area so nature lovers will be in their element .
I have a summerhouse at the rear of my land which I may use during occupation and I will notify guests when this is the case .
No fires are allowed on my land owing to the risk of tree damage.

My home is perfect for all season stays. During the autumn and winter months, the house becomes a cosy sanctuary with its two wood burners in the kitchen and lounge area. Xmas is a special time here and when you book over the festive period (12-31 December), the house will be complete with real Xmas tree and tasteful festive decorations.

Guest access
During your occupation, you will have access to all of my home aside from the fitted wardrobes/cupboards in Bed 1 as these contain my personal clothes and possessions. The landing cupboard is reserved for storing guests clothing etc

Please do not open the garage doors- no parking in front of it or down Red Lion Square

Summerhouse is reserved for my own occupation on rare occasions I choose to stay during guest occupancy (this does not influence use of the main garden space)

Please note that this is a country residence with two woodburning fires and chimneys which do get dusty. Whilst every care is taken to clean the house ready for guests, it is not a show home with pristine fittings and many of the elements of home furnishing are older. This does not affect the cleanliness of the stay as my cleaner always takes care to ensure everywhere is cleaned!
