Enjoy the wow factor of the incredible tall ceilings and original Victorian features of this 26' reception room, complete with restored ornate fireplaces. There is a stylish built-in kitchen/dining area to the rear of the room, with stunning French doors opening onto a lovely private courtyard garden. The garden has a paved area for al fresco dining in the summer, and a small but mature garden at the rear - not often found with a central Tunbridge Wells pad!

There is a large comfortable bottle green velvet sofa bed in the lounge, with additional arm chair creating a cosy hub around the smart TV.. For our guests needing to work, we have hung a folding desk on the wall behind the door with a chair, ideal for those needing to crack on but out of sight for a relaxing evening. The grey high-spec fitted kitchen includes: integrated double oven with induction hob, integrated washer dryer and fridge freezer. There's a spacious dining table for four by the French doors to the garden.

The luxurious king size bedroom has a window looking onto the garden. With tones of grey and pink, a super comfortable tempur mattress with hotel quality bed linen, this is a little slice of peaceful paradise in the middle of town. Located on the 1st floor of a newly refurbished building, this lovely 2 bedroom apartment is the ideal place to relax and unwind with it's beautiful modern albeit traditional design. The kitchen, living and dining areas are all neatly zoned out to maximise the space. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need during your stay - there's an oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave plus plenty of glassware and kitchenware. There's also plenty of space for preparing your brunch or dinners for friends and family. In addition to this, we offer all guests a complimentary tea and coffee, continental breakfast, salt and pepper and cooking oil - so please help yourself!

In the evenings, relax and unwind with a glass of wine in the cosy lounge area or in the morning by the large floor to ceiling bay window which illuminates and brings dappled light into the bright and airy space. With a single fold out bed (available on request), chaise lounger, 3 seater couch and a 4k 65 inch smart tv loaded with Netflix, you can enjoy your favourite tv programmes/movies on us! The lounge area is the perfect place to socialise or bed down if you need the extra space.

We provide fresh white linen and towels for all guests along with a welcome hamper.

If you are driving, as the apartment is so close to the town centre and Pantiles, parking requires a permit in most places.

However, there is free parking on Castle Road which is about a 5 minute walk away and all roads coming off of Mount Ephraim, the parking is free but a little walk down (approx 10 minute walk to the apartment).

There is also paid parking available and the closest and cheapest paid is Crescent Road Car Park which is a 24 hour car park and a short walk away (approx 5 minute walk). Trinity Theatre which is more or less opposite, has a cheap nightly rate.

If you are arriving via train, the easiest way to get to the property would be to turn left out of the Tunbridge Wells train station main entrance and left at the first set of traffic lights. The property is located around 150m from the traffic lights numbered 31 on the front (approx 5 minute walk).

A travel cot and/or high chair can be made available to hire for £25 each per stay. Please note, you will need to provide your own linen.

For group bookings, all guests must be aged 25 or over - thank you for your co-operation.

- "Lovely property but on a noisy street. Would not be be a problem in winter but on hot summers nights with the need for open windows it’s a problem. We would have appreciated the option of a sheet or a light blanket not just a heavy doona. We stayed for 4 nights but it seemed really set up for a shorter stay - very small garbage bin, little loo paper etc."

Car parking was easy to find, not cheap but safe and quite close. Excellent bus services for those without a car."

Hello and welcome. A tidy, comfortable room for anyone just looking to rest their head for a night or two. No mod cons, just the basics. The kitchen is SMALL & OFTEN IN USE. It isn't offered for cooking. There is no microwave. As it's a double bed, sorry but no couples. The train station is about 15 mins walk. The pictures are taken in Sept 2024. Please bear all this in mind before you book. Thanks

The space
The bedroom size is 12 feet in length x 6 feet 10 in width. The shower room is 6 feet in height so do bear this in mind because if you're taller than this you will have to crouch when having a shower.. There is a standing shower it just can't be seen in the picture. After popular demand, a hair dryer is now also available.

Guest access
Apart from my own bedroom of course, all areas can be accessed. Towels are provided if needed but other toiletries (apart from the basics) you will have to supply yourself.

During your stay
My stay there varies. Sometimes I am home, sometimes I am away. Sometimes I get home from work late but I am always happy to interact with guests and often find them very friendly.

Other things to note
Please think twice about booking my place if you snore loudly. or are noisy (slamming doors etc). Unfortunately, snoring can be heard in my room. I am unable to accept bookings in such cases. If you need regular access to the kitchen for cooking, i am also unable to accept such bookings due to lack of space and facilities. My offer is really just for a restful nights sleep and a bathroom and you are of course welcome to join me in the lounge too. I am unable to accommodate some regular bookings (for example 2 nights a week for the next 6 months or long stays), please enquire within if you have questions about this Please be quiet, clean and respectful. Please, if you're someone who lives a rock n roll lifestyle of alcohol, drugs and "wanting to bring people back to my flat", this place is not for you and a hotel may be a better option. On occasions, one might be able to hear neighbours talk while walking through the main hall. The main hall is several metres from where guests sleep. This does not bother most guests but this is so you are aware. If you are very sensitive to any kind of noise then ear plugs are supplied, although in the main they are not needed. There is free parking on the road. In a worst case scenario, parking is available 5 mins walk away on a road. Please also note that often when I am found cooking, the kitchen (which is small) will obviously be left in a used state until it is cleared, if I have been hosting friends for example. On one or two occasions, hosts (those who stay for longer durations) have encountered a "used" kitchen and this may have influenced their perceptions afterward. I am happy to answer any questions however as I like to be as transparent as possible.

We live in a lovely 16th century house that was originally a pub in the pretty village of Lamberhurst, Kent. Our house is quaint, quirky, welcoming & relaxing. We supply local eggs, cereal, milk , bread , spreads , tea , coffee etc to make your own breakfast.

We live in a lovely 16th century house that was originally a pub in the pretty village of Lamberhurst , Kent. Our house is traditional,relaxing, quirky & welcoming. On street Parking is available on the street and cut ins , no restrictions or money to pay .We have wifi, and all the home comforts you could wish for. The room you will be staying in is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The Teise has a King size bed (5ft) and has additionally a single bed. A travel cot and camp bed are also available on request. All linens and towels are provided. You are welcome to help yourself to various teas, including herbal, various coffees and some basic breakfast ie local eggs, bread, spreads, cereal etc. You may use the kitchen to cook in the evening, or indeed anytime of day , if you wish and there is a utility room to keep food, as guests have their own fridge and space in freezer & storage, we only ask you to clean up after yourself. We are well served with a Vineyard restaurant and various other pubs, The Teise has its own floor & bathroom. BUT be aware it is on the second floor with a curving staircase, also the bathroom is set on different levels. We have WIFI. There is a pretty garden leading down to the river Teise, with a summer house for sitting and enjoying the views. There are also plenty of tables and chairs, lovely for sitting out in the warmer weather. For fisherman, the river has carp,chub and some trout.
The street we live on, is a pretty residential road only a minutes walk to the village shop, a little supermarket, open 7am-7pm most days & sunday 7am-4pm. Royal Tunbridge Wells, is aprox 15 minute drive away. There are many attractions to see in this beautiful part of Kent,with the coast, including the gorgeous historic Rye & the many attractions of Hastings a 30 minute drive away, Brighton & the white cliffs of Dover aprox I hour away.Local attractions such as Scotney Castle, Golf course, Bewl Water & Bedgebury, walking distance or a very short drive away, as on the outskirts of the village, great for sailing, cycling, bird watching & fishing. Trains to London are approximately 1 hour from Frant station in the next village or a faster line at Paddock Wood & Tonbridge aprox 15 minute drive.We are also lucky to be near many historic places,for example, within 20 minutes drive, is Kiplings home Batemans, Battle & Sissinghurst Castle. 30 minutes away is Winnie the Pooh's home Hartfield & aprox 40 minutes are Leeds Castle & Churchills home Chartwell.

During your stay
We give advice on where to go,(some how to get in free),local walks etc, what the local pubs & restaurants offer in terms of food, at what prices, to suit all budgets , maps & leaflets to lots of places of interest, walks & attractions & offer directions.This house is also large enough for guests who want privacy, as we have a separate sitting room & bedroom with en- suite in a different part of the house, even has its own staircase! With the river, views & summerhouse , most people find it very relaxing here. The summerhouse, has heating and light, so writers, ( both music and literary) and readers, find inspiration down there by the river, with views, even in the winter months.

Other things to note
Be aware of the different levels of the Teise bathroom . Plus stairs up to top floor are windy .

This well presented little place is set away from the main road half way between Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge. Easy access to A21 and M25 free private parking. Pub, takeaways and restaurants are all 1 minutes walk away and Tunbridge Wells or Tonbridge are 5 mins drive away. Pretty country walks all around. Heaven!

Important note. Reviews left prior to 2019 are from my old airbnb, now sold. It had great reviews but some cancellations in 2019 because of the sale and the buyer then deciding not to continue to run it as an airbnb. The lovely reviews prior to 2019 relate to that property and should be read as a guide to our quality of hosting but are not relevant to this new airbnb. Durlings is named after the retired family that ran the front of the property as the village greengrocers shop over 30 years ago. Its a self contained apartment with parking. It has a fully equipped kitchen for times when you want to eat in, but If you want to eat out then within 1 minutes walk you'll find a great chip shop, a Thai restaurant and takeaway, a Dominos, a local shop and cash machine, A lovely village bakery, a very nice restaurant, and a pub offering great food and entertainment on some evenings. A under 5 minute walk will get you to a Tesco local, a lovely family pub and further eateries, as well as a very well equipped park for the children. It is used as an airbnb holiday home throughout the year and is the entire apartment where you can enjoy your stay without interruption. Facilities include the fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, lounge with TV and huge book store to take, leave or exchange as you please, A dedicated work space, a shower WC and a large dining area. Mobile coverage is normally great and there is our own unlimited mobile WIFI for your use.

Other things to note
Check in is set from 4.00 pm but we can often arrange early check in or late check out, please ask us, it will depend only on if we can get your room ready on time so setting it at 4.00 means we are never keeping you waiting but often were ready earlier. If you need to arrive late then with the entry code its no problem.

This apartment has everything you will need for a great stay, here on business for one nights comfy sleep or a longer stay to meet friends or explore the area.
