- "A stunning property, beautifully designed and appointed in an amazing location. It’s clean and comfortable too, substance as well as style. There’s no tv but the window wall provided plenty to watch; birds, bunnies, weather and people. The parking is a little walk away, not on site, so we mostly found it easier to park in the public parking spaces nearby, which was fine. I would have liked to have the manufacturer user guides for the appliances, operating things like the sauna are not as intuitive as the info pack makes out! We loved the property and had a brilliant time, hope to return soon."

- "Our week in the Fog Signal Building was truly exceptional. The location, the nature, the view and especially the cozy building are perfect to get away and enjoy time far away from any disturbances. It was only calmness and a feeling of simple luxury. As an architect myself, I appreciate the design, the quality of materials and the floor plan of the building very much. Although there was a small incident with the electricity, the owners were able to send someone over within hours to have it fixed. The house is very well equipped with anything one might need and it was extraordinarily clean. We will definitely visit the Fog Signal Building and beautiful Dungeness again!"

Coastguard Lookout is an old building and though built to the Coastguard Agency Standards, it sits in a very extreme and exposed position on the beach, which is one of its virtues, but also exposes it in storms to water ingress no matter what construction details are used. Both doors on the North East elevation utilise a storm section profile and water bars at ground level but in extreme north easterly storms water can penetrate these precautions.

- "This was a magical stay from the very point of arrival to departure. Even though there was so much to discover across Dungerness, temptation was to stay and enjoy this unique building. Beautifully converted (simply a beautiful piece of architecture) from a working coastguard lookout to a comfortable home from home. The views are to die for, but the experience of being so close to the sea, and separate from everything else is what made the stay that bit more special. It allows you to connect to the landscape and nature in a way we hadn't experienced anywhere else in the UK."

- "Out stay at Pump Station transported us to another world – both through its incredible location right on the shingle at Dungeness near to the two lighthouses, Prospect Cottage and the Fish Shack (delicious!) – and because of the wonderful architecture and history of Pump Station itself. We loved watching the light change and the hares run in the sea grass in the evening as we sat in the comfort of Pump Station's cosy living space. It was sunny enough to have breakfast out on the railway sleeper terrace amongst all the fascinating wildflowers and plants. During our stay we went on a fascinating tour of Prospect Cottage; went up the Old Lighthouse and enjoyed having dinner in Rye. We also visited two amazing churches – one with a marshmallow pink interior – the other in a spectacular setting in Romney Marsh. Bloom Stays were very prompt in answering my queries on making the booking and Pump Station was a fantastic place to stay."

Extensive courtyard garden with views of the reserve to the power station. Off road parking and walking distance from the Pilot in and of course the shoreline is across the road on the estate.

Our cosy one bedroom holiday cabin on Dungeness is a perfect spot to base yourself and explore this unique conservation area, with its wild and magnificent open spaces, and the coastline and other attractions of Kent all nearby. Cooking facilities are good but basic and suitable for simple meals, using a Microwave with a grill facility and a selection of pots and pans. Additionally there is an electric two ring hob, a fridge freezer, and tea and coffee making facilities. We also include a welcome pack of milk and a few basics. We have 2 identical cabins set together on a single private track with lovely views towards the two lighthouses. There is good WIFI but please note that there is no TV or DVD player. We do occasionally accept small, well behaved, non-malting dogs, with prior approval. We do ask for an additional cleaning fee £20 payable on arrival. We request they do not go on the soft furnishings and need to be dried off if coming in from the rain or the sea. If you wish to bring your dog please notify us in advance.

There is also a megaflow water tank that creates plenty of hot water for the lovely walk in shower.

Other things to note
We are close to art and culture, restaurants and dining, the beach, family-friendly activities, and great views. You’ll love my place because of the magnificent light, the ambience, and the outdoors space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and bigger groups if booked in conjunction with the other cabin and also our cottage is sometimes available.

Dungeness is dubbed ''Britain's only desert'' and is a conservation area, a nature reserve and has many wonderful features. We have a unique miniature passenger steam railway and access to the sea, many watersports, birdwatching, fishing, cycling, big sky sunsets & star gazing. Further afield is the historic town of Rye. And close to Camber Sands, Hastings. Come and explore!.

Dungeness is a wonderful, peaceful, natural place to visit, and it is also a living, working community - people will be going about their daily business.

The Pilot Inn is a short walk away and offers good pub food and beverages. They stop serving food at 8pm and are usually very busy. Dog and child friendly, no booking needed.

Please bring a torch for when it gets dark early in the winter months - there are motion lights but no street lighting on the approach to the Cottage.

The property is a converted 1950's tower, distributed over four floors with a steep metal staircase - this would not be suited to those with mobility issues or very small children.

Coastguard Lookout is an old building and though built to the Coastguard Agency Standards, it sits in a very extreme and exposed position on the beach, which is one of its virtues, but also exposes it in storms to water ingress no matter what construction details are used. Both doors on the North East elevation utilise a storm section profile and water bars at ground level but in extreme north-easterly storms, water can penetrate these precautions.

If you wish to hold a photo shoot or a TV/Film production at this property an additional fee will apply. The necessary licences must also be obtained from The Dungeness Estate

The Cove at Dungeness Beach has beautiful uninterrupted views of the English channel & the White cliffs of Dover. Walk out of the house onto the Beach, down to the waters edge. Close to many interesting places such as the RHDR steam railway, which you can see from the rear of the property, you are able to walk to the RNLI Dungeness lifeboat station & to the lighthouse. There is both an indoor and outdoor facilities for BBQs & alfersco dinning & within walking distance to the famous pilot pub.

The space
The Cove is a lovely former fishermans cottage built in the 1930's modernised to the current standards that are expected of a beautiful stay in a spectacular part of England.
The Cove is a two bedroom, one bathroom beach property that has outstanding view that changes minute by minute depending on the weather and season by season.
It is a place to relax and a great base for many diverse activities such as kite surfing, beach walking, wild swimming, go kart racing, sea fishing, bird watching and the narrow gauge railway all close by and many historic features in the local area, something for everyone to enjoy!

The space
North Vat: sleeps 6 with 1 reception, 3 bedrooms, 1 en-suite, plus a wet room, enclosed shingle beach garden and off street parking for several cars. The house is over two floors, with the majority of rooms on the lower level.
Most of the home is open plan, including the open mezzanine master bedroom. Natural light floods in most rooms due to the design there are few blinds in the bedroom areas.

The 'Old Log Cabin' with amazing views over the English channel is located on the beach, and is built around old Victorian railway carriages. An ideal cosy place to chill.
In the centre there is a dining area, and a separate seating area with views over the channel. There are 4 bedrooms; superking bedroom, kingsize bedroom, double bedroom and a single bedroom with an extra pull-out. The kitchen is retro but has modern kitchen appliances. The property includes a lounge and a massive bathroom.

Pobble House is an award winning house that sits on Dungeness, a vast expanse of shingle that juts out into the English Channel.

For many years the landscape has attracted creative people and is most famous for being where the late film maker Derek Jarman created his coastal garden.

The importance of the flora and fauna at Dungeness has been recognised by its designation as a National Nature Reserve and the presence of an RSPB sanctuary.

Dungeness is home to around forty houses including a collection of fishermen's huts, cabins that started life as old railway carriages and a handful of modern architectural houses - of which Pobble House is one. It also has two lighthouses, a steam railway, family owned fishing boats, a fish hut selling freshly caught fish, two pubs and a nuclear power station.

Pobble House can sleep up to 10 people. There are two main bedrooms that each have a kingsize bed. A third bedroom has six full sized single bed berths.

There are two bathrooms, one has a bath with shower, and the second has a shower. There are distinct kitchen, dining and living areas and a wood burning stove to keep it snug in the winter. There is underfloor heating throughout.

Cars may be parked on a defined parking space for one car, or the track leading up to the house.

The space
The house accommodates up to 8 adults, with a maximum capacity of 10 guests in total (including children). If you're planning a stay for more than 8 adults, please feel free to contact us to discuss further to see if suitable for your stay

Pobble House is available for minimum 2 night stays. The price per night varies (it is very dependent on factors such as season, day of the week, school holidays, bank holidays etc).
There are two main bedrooms that each have a kingsize double bed. A third bedroom has six full sized single bed berths, four of which are up ladders so best for children or nimble adults.

There are two bathrooms, one with a bath and a shower in the bath, the second with a shower. The main living area has distinct kitchen, dining and seating areas with a wood burning stove to keep it snug in the winter.
There are very few fences in the open landscape that characterises Dungeness but the land immediately surrounding the house is private land and the boundary of the garden area at the front is marked by wooden sleepers.
Cars may be parked outside, either on a defined parking space for one car, or on the track leading up to the house itself.

What you need to plan for or is not provided:

Landline telephone - Pobble does not have a landline phone. And whilst we are on the subject of phones, you might have to open a window or move around around a bit to get a good mobile phone signal.
Music system / speakers - are not provided.
Logs - once you have used up your starter logs you will need to purchase more. Bags of logs can be bought locally.
Highchair - a 'clamp on the table' style highchair can be provided, please let us know you require this at the time of booking.
Provision of food and drink - there are no convenience stores on Dungeness. If you have a car then 5 minutes drive will take you to a small general store and 15 minutes drive will take you to New Romney (where there is a high street with shops as well as a Sainsbury's supermarket on the outskirts). Some supermarkets do make home deliveries to Dungeness, so it is worth considering booking a delivery for shortly after your arrival.
