- "This hotel is housed in a beautiful, centuries old building with remarkable charm; you'll feel transported to medieval England in a very good way. However, the age of the building does come with some negatives; the stairs to my room (2) were quite steep, and the room itself was just big enough to house the king size bed within it. Additionally, the walls are quite thin, so you'll hear activity from the restaurant below until about 11pm, and potentially later from adjacent rooms (I could clearly hear my neighbour snoring!). None of this was an issue for me, as I sleep late and heavy, but I imagine it could be serious for some. What made the trip worth it however was the food; oh the food! I travel for work and pleasure easily 50+ times a year, and I can honestly say that it's difficult to remember a time I've had better food than this. The chef(s) offer a perfect combination of rustic Britishness with European refinement, and powerful flavours to bring it all home. Honestly, even if the rest of my stay had been a 3 star experience, I would've returned again just 5o experience their culinary delights once more. To briefly summarise; I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough to food lovers, but advise caution for light sleepers (though they do provide complimentary earplugs)."

Parking is very tight with only one space and our friend decided to stop the traffic to help us reverse out in the morning. Very central, loads to see and do and we would definitely return here. Overall the house was clean, had everything we needed. Lots of info on places to visit was given, some quirky artwork around the house as the name would suggest. If you're visiting this area I would recommend staying here, I don't think you'd be disappointed. The only thing to consider is that it is a townhouse with lots of stairs, so if mobility issues that is your only drawback. Otherwise, get booking! "

The heating was on a schedule such that at night the temperature in the house was around 6 degrees giving me a backache until I asked the owner to keep the temperature at a constant 23 degrees. It seems that Expedia did not ensure proper quality assessment with the owner. When I book through Hotels.com or Expedia I expect some of the basic necessities taken care of without me having to go to the shops for them. We have a beautiful newly renovated garden that you are welcome to use. We are welcome to have BBQ's and use the fire pit. We are also happy for you to host guests in the garden, although we would ask that you discuss this with us first.

You will find towels, clean bedding. Hangers for your clothes, as well as other storage. The double bed is an Ottoman so you are able to place large items under the bed giving you more room. We also provide water in your room as well as a welcome snack.. (this is normally chocolate but if you have any dietary requirements let me know and I will be happy to provide you with something else).
We offer an array of books in your room, where we have a swap a book for a book policy ( A small donation is accepted if you do not have a book to swap). You will also find a small selection of games as well as a hair dryer and an iron.

Kitchen-
You are welcome to use all utensils and appliances. This includes a microwave and a dishwasher so you don't need to worry about washing up! We can provide you with fridge, freezer and cupboard space. There is a selection of teas and coffees as well as spices, herbs, salt pepper and oil. All of which you are welcome to use.
You will find the airbnb logo on all cupboards for your use this includes a hidden fridge. Please feel free to look around.

Bathroom-
We have great water pressure here at this property and the water does gets very hot. We are happy for you to have as many baths as you wish or showers. We have plenty of products for you to use. This also includes things like bath bombs, sanitary products for woman and spare toothbrushes. If there is anything you do need but can not seem to find it please always ask first.
The only thing we do ask is that is you have a bath please ask other guests if they need the bathroom first as a courtesy. Leaving you to relax in peace!

Utility-
We have a utility situated outside, that you are welcome to use at no extra cost. This includes a washing machine, dryer and laundry liquid .

Shared spaces-dinning room and living room-
Please do not feel you need to hide away in your room! You are welcome to share both the dinning room and living room with us.
If you do require any private use of these spaces for things like a quite dinner or movie nights, please always ask we will always do our up most.
We also have a PS4 as well as Netflix and Prime all of which you are welcome to use of course we ask you take into account use by other household members. If using the PS4 we ask that you log in as a guest user.

During your stay
I am not always available at the property although I do aim to be. However I am always reachable via the airbnb site or via mobile. I am always on hand to help no question is too small.

I am grateful for your understanding. I host 7 days a week and sometimes have personal plans that mean that I am only available via phone.

Breakfast-
We keep a fully stocked fridge for all of your breakfast needs, as well as a shelf full of cereal and a stocked bread bin.

You wil also find a selection of items in the kitchen cupboard provided for you ( logo on door). We do ask that a small donation be left if you use any of the food items from this cupboard.

Recycling-
We do recycle here at this property and you will find a small green food waste bin and a large blue bin, with the recycle logo on it, for paper and other recyclable waste.

You are welcome to have visiting guests all we ask is that you make these arrangements with us prior to their arrival.

Cleaning-
We aim to keep the property, hotel clean at all times. Of course this is a very lived in house so it is impossible to maintain that level at all times. This room is a beautiful attic room with character. We have had couples staying in the room previously who have loved their stay.

The house has a communal kitchen, lounge and garden for guests. It is in walking distance of the Canterbury City Centre - a beautiful walled city which boasts a wide range of cultural and exciting experiences. It is about and about 15 minutes walk to the centre of the walled city.

Welcome to our little piece of happiness. Chartham is a little village on the outskirts of Canterbury. At the Crumbles lives a doggy (Sookie) and a number of happy chickens.

Full use of our house (except our bedroom) while you stay with us. Tea and coffee making facilities in each room as well as a 'light' breakfast items including home made bread and jam, which you can help yourself to. Fibre optic internet with Wi-Fi and a lovely garden.

The space
This bedroom is clean, warm and perfect for that 'home from home' feeling. It has a king size bed, desk, wardrobe, coat hangers, fresh towels, hairdryer and a reading lamp.

Please note we are in a terrace house and our next door neighbours are currently having some building work done (no noise at weekends).

The communal areas are cleaned once a week by me including the washing up in the kitchen. In the kitchen, there are two hobs, two washing machines, a clothes dryer, three fridges, a dishwasher, and a very large freezer with one compartment for each person.

Every bedroom has a small double bed ( with the exception of bedroom 1 which has a single bed ), a vanity unit with a washbasin, and a TV connected to the free sky channels.

Fast internet speed with very good coverage throughout the house and the internet connection is connected to BT Halo 3 + which means if there is a problem with the internet connection from the landline, the internet connection will automatically be connected to the 4G mobile network while the problem with the landline is being sorted out. This means a continual 24-hour connection to the internet even if there is a problem with the landline.

Free on-street parking two streets away

If you are looking for a well-run house; especially without the problems of who does the communal cleaning ( and even the washing up, during the weekly clean, if plates and saucepans are left unwashed ) then this is the house for you.

Central heating, during the winter, is on all day.

I do the weekly communal cleaning myself so you get a personal service and if I find any maintenance jobs to do, during the weekly cleaning, I get them fixed quickly. What sets this house apart from other house shares is the personal and efficient service you get from me thereby reducing the anxiety that sometimes can be felt when sharing with others. For example, someone not doing their washing up ( the kitchen is fully cleaned including cleaning the oven every week ) bathmats and dishcloths are cleaned every week and other small things I do that make sharing a lot easier.

A lovely double bedded room in our charming and welcoming Edwardian family home, only half a mile from Canterbury City Centre and the University. Bus stop right outside the house. The room offers a private space and an excellent base from which to enjoy your visit to Canterbury, whether for work or leisure.

My son lives with me in the house and we have 2 Airbnb rooms, both with en-suite shower & toilet. This room is the smaller one, but it is still spacious with king size bed, tea-making facilities.

BLEAN is a small village close to CANTERBURY, about one mile from the University of Kent, Kent College & St Edmund's College.

Facilities : access to table tennis, bike storage, parking, regular buses, supermarket open 8am to 7pm opposite the house, lovely walks nearby in countryside & woods

The space
The bedroom is on the first floor. It is light and airy. It has been newly decorated and new carpet laid. The en- suite facilities include a shower, a wash-basin and a toilet. Hairdryer and kettle are provided & simple furniture including a small table/desk, a comfy Lloyd Loom chair and a space to hang clothes.

Guest access
Access to a living room with a ping-pong table, and the garden (children should be supervised at all times when in the garden as there is a little pond with fish). For longer stays, use of washing machine.

For long stays it is possible to use the kitchen, on request.

If accommodation is required for a couple with small children, our bigger room is recommended as it has space for a folding camp bed and a baby cot (which we can provide if necessary).

During your stay
I live in the house with my son - we both speak French - myself fluently as I am French, and my son can get by. I also speak some Spanish. I am keen for my guests to make the most of their stay so I am always ready to assist them by letting them know about what there is to do around here.

Other things to note
Parking is available.
Buses run every 20mns to Canterbury, Whitstable & Herne Bay. As parking can be difficult in Canterbury and Whistable, this is quite useful.

The house is located 5mns from University of Kent and colleges - handy for open days, graduations.

Small supermarket opposite the house open every day from 8am to 7pm. (earlier on Sundays)

All guests welcome - but we do speak French so French speaking guests will feel particularly at home.

We are quite flexible about arrival and departure time, and we will try to accommodate any change of plans.
