A family-run business, we aim to provide a personalised service with safe and luxurious yet eco-friendly accommodation. Guests have private suites with kitchenette, and self check-in.

Groups are only permitted if booking the entire building; no parties.

The space
Suite 1 is on the ground floor of Number 8.
The suite has a bedroom, and lounge with kitchenette and sofa bed designed for use by children under 12 years old only.

It has a bedroom with a King sized bed with luxury mattress; the bedroom is at the rear of the property so not overlooked and very quiet. The lounge (facing onto the street, no through traffic for cars) has an Italian leather sofa bed with full sized double mattress. All linens are 100% cotton and towels are provided.

Relax in your suite, enjoying the luxurious mattress, the new bathroom with rain shower, lounge with Nespresso coffee machine (pods provided), kettle with welcome tray, free Wifi, Smart TV with Netflix and a fridge with milk pods and chilled water.

We have recently refurbished this suite and added a kitchenette with dining table, a microwave oven, glasses, cups, cutlery, and also plates and bowls for self-catering. There is a small sink for washing up.

A further communal kitchen is available to guests in the basement, with washer/dryer, cooker, toaster, kettle, microwave, coffee machine and basic pans, oil and sauces, crockery and pans. There is also a dining table and chairs there, plus a high chair.

In winter, enjoy the personalised heating system allowing you to decide on the temperature of your room. Our state-of-the-art eco ventilation system re-uses heat from our water heating, so rooms are always a comfortable temperature with a constant supply of fresh air. You can always add more warmth to suit your needs by simply turning the dial on the "Nest" device to turn on your radiators. In summer we have a constant fresh air flow plus provide two fans in your suite, for extra comfort.

The suite has am en-suite shower room which you access from the lounge. In the shower room we supply Eco Friendly refillable Cole & Lewis shower gel, Shampoo, Conditioner and hand wash toiletries.

Parking is available on request for additional fee of £10. This is for 24 hours from arrival at the Castle Street public car park. (Additional 24 hour passes may be purchased on request). Any additional stay will be charged when exiting the car park, currently £2.80 per hour.

We do not provide breakfast at the premises, however there is a lovely café next door offering delicious breakfast and lunches and a patio garden. (The café does not form part of our business and is not included in the price). There are several supermarkets in the vicinity for those who prefer to self-cater.

The suite is advertised for up to 4 people, 2 adults and 2 children. It has 2 beds: the sofa bed takes up most of the lounge area when made up as a bed, and is easily rolled away during the day time. We suggest not overcrowding the suite, and do not permit more than 2 adults, or children over 12, for this reason. It is ideal for couples and families, and is buggy and dog-friendly. There is a travel cot, and a dog bed and bowls. We ask that people with children aged 13+ years old choose a different suite, as it would be too cramped to have teenagers and adults in this space.

Although on the ground floor please note this is described as a suitable suite for disabled access; as there are two steps up to the front door of the hotel.

Number 8 is unattended with 24-hour self check-in. You will be sent your access codes when you book your stay. This is one of six rooms and suites in our beautiful building so communal stairs and landings are shared but you have the private use of your suite (lounge, shower room and bedroom). The shower room is accessed from the lounge.

Check-in is from 3pm. Check-out is at 11am unless otherwise agreed; please contact Laura if other times are required. Housekeeping is provided for longer stays and luggage lockers are available.
