- "The apartment is beautiful and situated next to Il Duomo. It is 10 minutes to the main train station on foot. The taxi from the airport was able to leave us practically at the front door. There are many cafes, bars, and restaurants literally steps from the building entrance. It is also a short walk to L’uficcio, La academmia, and Ponte Vecchio. Everything in the apartment worked great, including the AC and clothes washer. We are two adults and a child and found the size to be just right. This is a great place for a small family. For me the only negatives would be the amount of stairs as it is on the top floor. Bringing up the luggage after a long flight was unpleasant, but you only have to do it once. If you have physical limitations however you might reconsider. As the apartment overlooks the piazza there is ambient noise that goes into the morning. This includes live musicians, church bells, and some evening revelry. Personally we love this as it sounds like Italy and makes the location festive. I wouldn’t call it loud or intrusive at all. We slept great every night. The check in and check out process couldn’t have been easier. Luca was wonderful and began communicating with us before we arrived in Italy. He sent very detailed instructions to get to the property including what to tell the taxi driver in Italian. Our family loved Firenze and enjoyed very much staying in this very charming property!"

How to reach the apartments by car:

From the “A1” highway take the Firenze Sud exit. Follow the ramp all the way and cross the bridge on the Arno river; at the stop light at the bottom of the bridge, turn left and follow the directions for the Viali di Circonvallazione (the river should always be on your left!). Take the riverside avenue to the San Niccolò Bridge, exit to the left then turn right onto Viale Giovanni Amendola. Arriving at Piazza Beccaria – easily recognizable from the antique gate – continue straight to Piazza Donatello – with the cemetery in the center – and drive around that cemetery, following the signs for the ZTL (limited traffic zone) and the Santa Maria Nuova Hospital. Turn right at the first traffic light onto Via Alfieri, take the first right (Via Giusti); then take the first left (Borgo Pinti)

By Train.
From the Santa Maria Novella station you can reach the apartments by taxi, it is a short ride about 10 euro (we don’t recommend proceeding on foot, especially with luggage; the distance requires at least 20 minutes walking) or by bus, with line 14 (for Il Girone or Ripa), departing from the station. Get off at Colonna 01 stop. From here head towards Borgo Pinti on foot. In just a few minutes you will reach the apartments.
The best is to take a taxi!!!

By Plane
The ‘Amerigo Vespucci’ airport of Florence is 8.5 km away. To get to the apartment use the taxi service; travel time is 30 minutes, and the cost averages between 30 and 35 Euro. From the airport the shuttle goes directly to the Santa Maria Novella Station; from there you can proceed to follow the instructions outlined in the section ‘By Train’.

We have lived in five different apartments in Florence over the last six years, and “Pinti 1” is easily our favorite; we lived there for over three months last year. It is beautifully and comfortably furnished, it’s stylish, and it clearly shows the love and care of its owner, Mrs. Claudia Morace. Borgo Pinti is a quiet, mostly pedestrian street. It’s off the “tourist track,” yet within easy walking distance to the historic center of the city. San Ambrogio market, the best market in Florence, is about seven minutes down the street. The apartment is on the top floor of a quiet building, up manageable flights of stairs. It has two floors: the top floor contains the master bedroom and bathroom and a small, quiet alcove for reading or other pursuits. The main floor contains the kitchen, dining area, living room, large bathroom, and guest room. Morning sunlight pours through the large living room window. There is a big dining room table – we seated eight for Thanksgiving dinner – and an abundance of dishes and pots and pans. The apartment is supplied with many quality bed linens and towels; there are three televisions, one in each of the bedrooms and one in the living room, and there’s a good desk where one can work at the computer; the apartment is wired for the internet. Easily our greatest surprise was that the apartment has screens, a luxury in Florence where mosquitoes seem to thrive year-round. A wonderful domestic, Marta, seems to know everything about the apartment, and if she can’t answer your questions, Mrs. Morace is only too happy to help. Speaking of Mrs. Morace, we have never met a more pleasant and accommodating landlady; the instant we met her we were struck by her warmth and friendship. We never felt that our relationship was “strictly business.” She and her beautiful apartment remain one of our happiest memories of Florence – where we hope to return very soon.

There is no elevator, but the climb is worth it. The steps bring you to a beautiful sunlit entrance to the flats.

Insider Tips: VRBO in Florence, Italy

This travel tip comes from my friend Shelley in San Diego, California, who stayed in a three-bedroom apartment - a 'dream in the heart of Florence' - in December. When she told me how perfect it was for her family, I couldn't resist sharing her comments with you. I love that it's in an upscale area and close to good neighborhood restaurants. It sounds like a great deal and someplace you might want to consider for the next time you travel to Italy.

Vacation rentals are great for authentic travelers who want to connect with the community and the local culture. In my opinion they are better than hotel accommodations for 3G (three-generation) family vacations.

'We had the pleasure of staying in Claudia's beautiful apartment while visiting our daughter who is studying in Florence. We arrived on Christmas day, which we expected to be less than convenient, but Claudia was gracious enough to let our daughter store some food in the kitchen and provide her with a key in advance so that we did not need to disturb anybody's holiday with our arrival. Additionally, the kitchen was stocked with water, juice, coffee, a fresh fruit basket, and wonderful olive oil that Claudia bottles herself

Both apartments belong to an ancient bulding dated back to the XIV century and share a private entrance from the road, in front of the magnificent stonewall of the medieval S. Remigio Church, in one of the oldest and most famous area of Florence.

The location is so central that you can easily get back home any time of the day for a quick rest or a bite and go out again to visit this magnificent city.

The Simona apartment has a master bedroom with a large queen bed, a twins' bedroom, a dining area with the kitchen and a large table that can comfortably accomodate up to 5 guests. The sitting room is provided with a large couch that can be transformed in a large single bed for a 5th guests, two bergere chairs, table coffee and tv, a full contemporary bathroom with a shower completes the interiors.

History and leisure: The entire historical centre of Florence has been declared World Heritage by the UNESCO and Via Vinegia is just in the middle of it! All the major sites are within walking distance: Piazza della Signoria and the Uffizi Gallery, Ponte vecchio, The Duomo, The magnificent church of Santa Croce: everything is just around the corner.
And if you like to try the very best food you have a choice of restaurants and, most of all, you are at 10 min. walking from one of the oldest and most famous market in Florence, The Sant'Ambrogio market where you can buy the most exquisite traditional food.. and as far as ice-cream is concerned, Vivoli (the most famous one) is at 3 min walking
Via de Neri, the road at 20 mt from Via Vinegia is full of all kind of shops: groceries, take away, chemistry, fruiters, ice-cream, bakeries, mini market, bars, laundry...
Anything you may need is just around the corner

Car: The centre of Florence is closed to car with specific rules. We suggest you NOT TO ARRIVE WITH A CAR if you can. You won't need (and you won't be allowed too) to use it during your staying in the city.
Florence is on the main fast trains line that connects all the main italian cities: Rome, Milan, Naples, Bologna.. on this line trains run every 20/30 minutes and the rides are definetely much shorter than a car trip.
Also from Venice fast trains are available and a train ride from Pisa airport takes only 1.10 hour..
So if you plan to take a car just to reach Florence we strongly recommend to check trains instead.

But in case you should have it, we will be glad to give you all the informations you may need for entering and parking in this area.

- "Absolutely the best place I’ve ever stayed! Location was perfect and close to everything. The host Luca was so helpful and he has the best pillows on the bed. THE PALACE AND ITS SURROUNDINGS

The ancient 13th-century tower belonged to the very powerful Donati family. With the fortunes of the Donati family waning, the tower was incorporated in the second half of the 16th century into the palace of the Albizi, a family of Florentine merchants and bankers who long rivaled the Medici for city supremacy. From the Albizi, the palace then passed in the 18th century to the Tassinari family and finally in 1929 to the family of the present owners.

The apartments, located on a very central and ancient street, as well as the entire palace and tower, are of great historical interest and bound by the Superintendence of Artistic and Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. It is therefore the ideal place to immerse yourself in the history and beauty of Florence's Golden Age.

The terrace with views was our favorite part of our vacation! We can’t say enough about this property and the hosts!!!!" - "This was a splurge for us but due to perfectly centralized location and the beautiful terrace we couldn’t pass it up. The kitchen and bathroom were fantastic, the beds were comfortable however due to extreme heat during our stay sleeping was difficult. There is air conditioning in main entry room but not in bedrooms. Our daughters ended up pulling mattress to main room to sleep. A fan in bedrooms would be very beneficial for sleeping. Host had a list of activities and restaurants in area which was lovely. Was a wonderful ending to our Italian vacation."

As all the windows look onto the river and none face the street, the apartment is extremely silent even when the windows are left open. It is served by a newly installed elevator and each room has central heating and air conditioning. Furthermore the floor is entirely in oak parquet except for the bathroom where the use of tiles has been preferred.
When you enter the apartment there is a small hall and to the left you access the ample bedroom with a king size double bed. From the centre of the hall you enter the large bathroom equipped with a shower and where you will also find the washing machine. On the opposite side of the hall from the bedroom you find the living room with an equipped kitchen that can be closed out of sight when not used. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave oven; an under counter refrigerator; a dishwasher and a two fire induction hob. A toaster and coffee pot are also present. In the living room the comfortable sofa can be opened up to reveal a sofa double bed.

Eleonora and Fiorenzo, the owners, lived for many years in this property, and now they live near Florence a few kilometers from the city.

In 2012 they decided to offer others the opportunity to share, albeit for short periods. of time, the extraordinary experience of living in the monumental center of Florence a few steps from the Duomo.

CHECK IN. Check in is between 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm on appointment. If needed and if possible we can establish a different time.
CHECK IN DAYS. Please, take into account Check in is not possible in these dates: 25th, 26th, 31st December; 1st January; Easter Sunday, Easter Monday; obviously it is possible to CHeck in the days before and Check out in these dates or after.

The space
My apartment was built in 1904, so the palace has passed two world wars!
As used once, the areas are very large, so you will have plenty of space inside your room and in the whole house. You can also admire the wonderful "frescoes" on the ceilings, which has become quite rare in the common houses, and that can be found mostly in museums.
In the apartment you will find 2 BATHROOMS! that you can use indiscriminately.
Being an old house, the walls are very large, and this means that the house is very cool during the summer months. With such a low price I can not afford the air conditioning but every room is equipped with FAN. As well as in the kitchen.
Each guest will have clean and fragrant bedding and towels, sometimes I do not have the time to iron everything, but we ALWAYS guarantee excellent hygiene!
You can use the kitchen, with everything you need for quick meals and breakfast. You will also find at your disposal oil, vinegar, salt, sugar, pepper, spices, dishwashing detergent. I do not provide breakfast but you can find every morning the excellent biscuits, herbal teas, tea (the lemon in the fridge is for your tea!) Italian coffee, barley, chocolate.

Guests will have access to their own room with a personal key, to the common areas of the apartment, kitchen, bathrooms and entrance / living room.
The use of the kitchen is allowed, equipped with everything necessary including the washing machine. The use of the kitchen is free for the preparation of short meals and breakfast, but after each use everything must be cleaned and arranged as found, otherwise you will be asked € 10 a day for cleaning. The use of the washing machine costs € 5 per wash including detergent.

It is possible to add a single bed in the same room for the third guest who will pay €25 more per night.

During your stay
I do not live in the same apartment but on the lower floor of the same building. Your stay will therefore not be hindered by my presence, but I will always be available 24 hours a day for any information, advice or request.

The accommodation is near the bar, bus stop, outdoor market and supermarket, pharmacy, newspaper shop, florist, etc. Suitable for couples, students and researchers given the proximity of the European University, tourism or business travelers. It's halfanhour walk from downtown or 10 minutes by bus. The terminus of Bus 1B is below the house and leads directly to the central station.. The apartment has 3 rooms, 2 bathrooms and kitchen.
Just 1.5 km walk from Santa Maria Novella station, it is located in a strategic point to reach on foot or by public transport, anywhere in the city.

The space
My apartment was built in 1904, so the palace has passed two world wars!
As used once, the areas are very large, so you will have plenty of space inside your room and in the whole house. You can also admire the wonderful "frescoes" on the ceilings, which has become quite rare in the common houses, and that can be found mostly in museums.
In the apartment you will find 2 BATHROOMS! that you can use indiscriminately.
Being an old house, the walls are very large, and this means that the house is very cool during the summer months. With such a low price I can not afford the air conditioning but every room is equipped with FAN. As well as in the kitchen.
Each guest will have clean and fragrant bedding and towels, sometimes I do not have the time to iron everything, but we ALWAYS guarantee excellent hygiene!
You can use the kitchen, with everything you need for quick meals and breakfast. You will also find at your disposal oil, vinegar, salt, sugar, pepper, spices, dishwashing detergent. I do not provide breakfast but you can find every morning the excellent biscuits, herbal teas, tea (the lemon in the fridge is for your tea!) Italian coffee, barley, chocolate.

It is possible, on request, to add 1 or 2 beds in the same room, as the accommodation is spacious and can accommodate up to 4 people.

Guests will have access to their own room with a personal key, to the common areas of the apartment, kitchen, bathrooms and entrance / living room.
The use of the kitchen is allowed, equipped with everything necessary including the washing machine. The use of the kitchen is free for the preparation of short meals and breakfast, but after each use everything must be cleaned and arranged as found, otherwise you will be asked € 10 a day for cleaning. The use of the washing machine costs € 5 per wash including detergent.

During your stay
I do not live in the same apartment but on the lower floor of the same building. Your stay will therefore not be hindered by my presence, but I will always be available 24 hours a day for any information, advice or request.

Other things to note
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT THE APARTMENT OVERLOOKS A MAIN ROAD AND IS NEAR THE TRAIN TRACKS. FOR THIS REASON IT CAN BE NOISY! IF YOU ARE VERY SENSITIVE TO CITY NOISES AND YOU ARE A LIGHT SLEEPER, THIS ACCOMMODATION IS NOT FOR YOU!
