Our room was on the back of the property so was very quiet( apart from the church bells!!!!) staff were very friendly and responded to all our inquiries before and after arriving. It’s a bit of an experience getting up to the room, especially the lift, but this added some fun to our trips out, and the two or three doors to get to the room made us feel completely safe. It was very family friendly, I checked with Salvatore that we’d have a cot in our room, and it was there put up all ready for us when we got there. We were also able to leave our pram in the lobby. It was great that we were able to check in early as we arrived early in the morning, and there was a store for our cases on the day we checked out so we could go out for the day without lugging them around. Casa Pergola is a once olive mill, lovingly restored farmhouse set in the beautiful Sicilian countryside. The house is a short drive to the beaches and coastal villages of the north coast. Vibrant Palermo "Italy's City of Culture for 2018" is 30 minutes away, and the Madonie Mountain hill cities are a short drive to the East. In winter there is skiing in the mountains and beautiful nights by the fire place which is massive and romantic. The one downside was we both ended up with multiple bug or spider bites while sleeping (they weren’t a problem at first). Carlo left us a bug trap for the mosquitoes, which we used. We kept the windows closed and air on to minimize their entry. Carlo also stocked the little fridge with a few things. Overall a pleasant experience."
